Selena shrugged. Tea. how bad could it be. She picked up the cup with her left hand and drank the tea. Yum. Tea. Her mind had gone blank for a moment. She looked at the tea leaves. Wow... what did they mean? She saw different shapes. Was that a moon? Hmm... a crescent moon? and... maybe that was... a... leaf? A maple leaf? And... that looked a bit like... hmm... a bird? Selena sighed. She was no good at this.

She wrote down some notes and raised her hand. "Professor, what exactly does this meant?" Selena asked.

He waved his wand and gave it a little swish, pointing at her teacup. "There, I dulled the taste for you," he said with a smile, since the girl just LOOKED like she was going to be sick at the prospect of drinking it. "If anyone else simply cannot stand the taste of Earl Grey, let me know and I'll do something about it," he announced to the class.
Nia nodded. That was certainly good to know, in case she ever got the urge to try this again. Breakfast tea would be much preferable in future readings. Though she had been tempted to try peppermint tea in the past...maybe this would be a good time to do so. Oooo, coffee. Now that was a plan. Though perhaps you couldn't use milk - and she liked properly milky coffee. "Can you put milk in your tea or coffee for a reading, if its more to your taste?" she asked, interested in whether it would 'cloud' the reading or something.

Hmm, anyway...back to the acky tea. With the Professor was currently pointing his wand at. At his explanation, Nia smiled. "Thanks, Professor," she said, looking much relieved. Sure, he'd said the the taste was dulled, but that was certainly a whole lot better than contemplating whether she should she should hold her nose whilst trying to drink. Though...had it been soooo obvious she hated the flavour? Oops.

Now to think. Or not to think, as was the requirement. And yet strategies kept running through her mind. It was as if someone was drawing arrows and formation changes on the inside of her eyelids. It'd happened a lot lately, since starting tryouts. Trying to think of the best team overall, how it'd all work together... Maybe that's where she would direct her question. Nothing to do with winning (for she wanted to control her own destiny there - no point tempting fate even if she was dubious about the accuracy of divination) but something a bit simpler still related. She focused on that one thought a bit longer to check that was what she wanted her reading on, before reaching for the cup with her right hand.

Now to focus and sip. She blew lightly across the top of the cup, trying to cool the liquid down. It was still rather hot...and thus she waited, thought still in mind.

Yay, Hamlet! • Cathopper • Disney Fanatic • I was normal once...

Lucky was scribbling down the directions as fast as she could go while Professor Dude was talking. The only time she took a little break from writing was when the tea kettle came by to pour some hot water into her tea cup. Once it went to the next person, she finished writing down the directions, and then she looked up at the board to see...

He wrote the directions on the BOARD?! Whaat? There was NO point in writing all that if he had placed them on the blackboard, and that just made her mad because she had just taken her precious time to write them all down. Grrr.

She shoved her piece of parchment away from her, but instead of really just moving it over on the desk, it flew off her desk and landed near the place where the crystal balls were kept. Erm... yeah, she was getting that later because she didn't feel like getting up at the moment.

Though, right then, they were told to go get the bag of tea leaves. Sighing, she stood up and headed towards the front to get her little bag of Earl Grey tea leaves, and then she headed back to her desk until she remembered about that piece of paper. Yes, she had forgotten about it from when it flew away until right now.

She took a quick glance at the Professor before walking over to get her sheet of paper on the ground. Just as she was standing back up after picking the parchment up, her elbow whacked against the shelf the crystal balls were on. One of the crystal balls rolled off the thing that was keeping them in place, and it rolled off the shelf and it shattered once it hit the ground.

"Those should really be shatterproof," she pointed out. Well, IT WAS TRUE.

She quickly headed back to her seat before the Professor could say anything to her, and then she placed her tea leaves into her hot water. Then, she began to stir her tea as she cleared her mind of things, especially the shattered crystal ball on the ground.

After stirring it, she picked the cup up with her left hand and drank the tea.

Ellie swished her tea around in the cup. Oh no! She switched hands. Left hand now. Whoops. She looked around to see if anyone was going to yell at her as she began to drink her tea, not thinking of... whether she'd be in trouble soon or not. GULP.

"You know yourself, and the subject of your reading, better than I do. And do you think that looks like a bowl as well? Some people see signs differently," he told her with a nod. It was sort of hard for him to help with the readings, because he knew that what HE saw might not be what THEY saw.
Rae listened to the professor. Then he asked what she thought it was... Was there a meaning for the blob symbol? Take the safe way Rae thought, then she spoke "Oh, er, yeah i agree. That's a bowl." Did this thing really work anyways? An invitation, to not being independant? Being on her own was all she had known....

Alex removed the small amount of tea as the Professor told them to before frowning. She could make out two symbols in the first and middle. The third she wasn't getting a good picture on But then she thought wildly of her house sign. She wrote down:
Quote:
First: Bear
Second/Middle: Bones
Third:Snake.
Alex frowned again and raised her hand, "What does Having a Bear, Bones, and Snake mean?" she asked confused

No. more. injured. Hufflepuffs. NOOOOO!
He looked up as he heard someone speaking, apparently to him. Of course, the Professor! Who else? "Oh, no" another little, little cough, "It's fine, I'm alright! I survived the tea" he said, with a wide smile.

"Thank you" Treyen nodded. So nice of a Professor to be worrying over students.

Never mind the coughs, the little Lockhart kept on drinking because now he wanted to do the reading part so badly! And once he had almost finished the tea, he moved the cup three times, to make the liquid swirl a bit. Once that was done, he drained the remaining of the tea.

And now, wait, wait, wait.

He WAS anxious. He wanted to know. He had to have a bit of patience, but simply couldn't wait, perhaps that's why he choked before.

TIME TO TURN THE CUP AGAIN!

And...oooooooh...he had no idea what to look for, but it was sooooo amazing. So, let's take a look at the rim first, because the rim was present, right? Hmmm...what is that? It looks like a grasshopper! Ooooh, a grasshopper! How adorable! He should have one as a pet...or maybe not, what would he do with a grasshopper as a pet?

Quote:
GRASSHOPPER - summer delights.
Er, yeah, he had no idea.

Let's get to the middle! That's when Treyen actually narrowed his eyes to get a better look at to what he was seeing. A beetle! Oh, no! Another insect! He was not liking this.

Quote:
BEETLE - renewal; progress; need for foresight.
Interesting. Interesting.

Bottom! Let's go! And he had quite a bit of trouble with this one, which is why he decided to raise his hand and ask for the Professor's help, "Professor, does this look like a broom or a wand?" because the resemblance between the two was uncanny.

Once he'd figure that out, he'd write the hidden meaning of the tea reading.

Hmm, she wasn’t a big fan of the Earl Grey tea, but if it was the only kind they had… At least it wasn’t like, pumpkin juice or coffee or anything. Bleh.

Looking at the cup that was placed in front of her, she stared at it as the hot water was poured in as well; making sure no little drops had gotten on her notebook or her in general. Hmm, good. No drops on her or her notebook. Standing up, she moved to the front, making sure not to touch anyone before taking one of the tea leaf bags and going back to her seat. Pouring the leaves into the hot water, she thought about what to think of as she let the leaves soak in the water. Taking the spoon, just to be certain, she used her left hand instead of right to stir the tea a little since she had no idea if there were any rules on that.

Now, what problem did she have that continued to pop up in her mind. There were…many. Too many in fact, and it was impossible to figure out which one was the worst. Ugggh. Closing her mind, she tried to clear her mind, thinking of…nothing.

Taking the spoon out of her tea, she let the remainder of the tea that had stuck onto the spoon drip back into the cup before picking it up with her left hand and blowing gently on the top of the liquid. Making sure it was a little cooler, she took a small sip, debating whether or not it needed more stirring; probably something that she shouldn’t have been thinking about, so immediately afterward, she cleared her mind. It was okay tasting, not as great as some other teas she had made, but still…it was bearable.

It definitely hit the spot though. However, Evelyn and drinking hot tea in Divination class? Someone should really wake her up in a few moments.

Keep in mind that IS hot, and please DON'T SPILL!" he told them sternly. He pulled some spoons out and set them next to the bags of tea leaves, so they'd have something to stir their tea with if they didn't feel like using their wands.

"Before you begin drinking, take a minute and try to clear your head of all thoughts. If there is a certain thought or problem that continues to pop up while you're attempting this, that will be the subject of your reading," he explained. "If you simply cannot think of ANYTHING, you will do a general reading, and the results you get will give you advice on life in general BUT I would prefer you have some sort of question or situation to focus on while doing your reading."

"As you sip, focus on that thought, and try not to drink any of the leaves," he added with a chuckle, although he knew it was sometimes hard to avoid. "Leave a small amount of tea in the bottom of your cup, and once you're finished, give it THREE good swirls to get the leaves spread out amongst the cup. Then turn it over in your saucer to drain the remaining tea, and wait at least three breaths before turning it back over. Then you may begin your reading."

He knew he was throwing a lot of information at them at once, so he flicked his wand, and a few notes copied themselves on the blackboard behind his head:
Quote:
Tea Leaf Reading

1. Brew your tea
2. Attempt to clear your mind of all thoughts...any issue/thought that continues to weight heavily on your mind during this time will be the subject of your reading
3. Sip your tea while focusing on this thought (remember to use your NON DOMINANT hand!)
4. Leave small amount of tea in cup, give liquid three good swirls, then drain remaining tea into saucer
5. Identify symbols in the three areas of your cup (rim, middle and base) and take notes on the meanings of these symbols and what they might mean in regards to the subject of your reading.

Sidney walks to the front of the class and gets herself a Earl Grey tea bag. Earl Grey is not one of her favorite teas. She wishes they could add some lemon and sugar to improve the taste, but I guess you can't use those things when doing a Tasseography reading. Once she gets back to her seat, Sidney opens the bag and pours the leaves into the tea cup. She watches as the tea leaves swirl around and the water turns into an almost black color. While the tea brews, Sidney clears her mind. Now let's see. I generally use my right hand to do everything, so that must make it my dominent hand. I must drink my tea using my left hand. Terrific! I hope I don't spill the tea everywhere. She lets the tea cool for a minute, then grasps the handle in her left hand. Sidney takes a sip. Yup it's Earl Grey tea alright. She takes another sip and makes a ugly face. Then remembers she needs to see where the tea is in relation to the cup. I'll need to know about that, so I can visualize where the rim is. She looks at the line the tea is leaving on the cup. Sidney takes another sip and then drinks the tea down. She looks at the leaves in the bottom. Okay just a little more to drink and I'll be finished. A couple more sips and all that's left in the cup is a little dredge and the leaves in the bottom. Sidney swirls the tea around three times and then turns the cup over the saucer.

Sidney picks the cup up and looks inside. Boy those tea leave went everywhere. Let's see if I can pick out the rim, middle and base. I think I'll start with the rim.

Dianna left a small amount of tea and gave it a good three swirls. She drained the remaining tea into the saucer and looked.

"Ehh..." Dianna wasn't exactly sure what she was seeing although she can guess what it looks like.
A grasshopper...
A goat..
and was that an ant or a bow? She couldn't quite guess...

"Professor, what if were not so sure what it is?" she couldn't help but ask.

Pet, Nuzzle, Bite. Mherrfph. | Paris, Roma, Home Again | Possible Lovegood

After drinking the so-so flavored tea - ick, who was she kidding? - with her right hand, Abby looked at the mess of tea leaves inside, trying to make heads or tails of what shapes they could possibly be making.

A... leaf? Yeah, the leaves looked like a leaf at the rim. Abby wondered if that could be right. Wasn't it a given that the leaves would look like leaves. Huh? She shook her head and looked at the meanings. Yep, leaf was on there. And it meant change. DUH. When she was trying to clear her mind, the one thought that probably was still looming around in her head was her transfer from Salem to Hogwarts. Thus, change. Thus, duh.

On to the middle part of the cup thingy. Abby saw a candle. Which was bizarre. Possibly because she had never had tea made with tea leaves. Did they always make shapes like this, or just when you're concentrating real hard and looking for the symbols? Yeah, most likely the second option. So, candle. Light on an uncertain path. Oookayy. NEXT.

Was that an arrow? Abby turned the cup around at every angle possible. Yep, it was an arrow. Sitting there at the base of her tea cup. Pointing up. Or... down. Eh. How were you supposed to tell?

She set her cup down. Didn't that mean something bad? She looked at the meaning for an arrow. Dang. It was, if the arrow was pointing down. She glanced at her cup again. The arrow was pointing forward away from her. Guh. "Professor, which way is up and which way is down if you're looking at an arrow?" she asked, hand raised.

Alcemee followed the steps for the tea (including drinking most of it, of course). Then she looked for symbols. She saw an owl at the rim, a dog in the middle, and an eagle at the bottom. She stared at them in surprise. They were all animals....

The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas.

Holding the tea in his right hand, the heat from the cup warming his hand oddly William sighed, his face composed. Lifting it to his lips he took his first sip, his mind focusing on the thing he wanted it too. It wasn't as easy as he had hoped, the thought of abandoning his friends kept creeping back into his mind, dominating the other happier thought he had placed there. He wasn't even aware of it happening as he sipped, his left hand tapping gently on the tabletop, blue eyes focused on the tea. It wasn't bad, could use tons of sugar but not too bad.

Halfway through his sipping he looked around seeing that people were already finished. Huh, what did they do gulp it down he thought idly before sipping some more. He shuddered as it hit his throat, the taste almost like that of old socks - how he knew that was beyond him. Wondering just what old socks would taste like he went back to his tea realizing there was only a little bit left. Nodding to himself, and not realizing he had been thinking about abandoning his friends during hard times he swirled the cup three times to swirl the leafs around. Carefully he turned it over the saucer and placed it there.

Three calming breaths, and having a few more just in case and he was ready. Taking the copy of the symbols and their meanings he sighed, taking out a quill and a piece of parchment. Turning it over he saw everything was drained, the leafs scattered looking like nothing he'd seen before. How was he supposed to find anything in this mess he wondered idly, as he placed the cup back on the saucer, face up this time and peered into it. Frowning he squinted; the first thing he noticed is what appeared to be long sticks of some sort. With a look of shock he realized it was bones, sitting comofrtably at the rim of the cup. Looking at the parchment with symbols and their meanings on it he blinked as he wrote down.

Hmm interesting what situation was then he wondered as he frowned deeply, his blue eyes searching for answers inside the cup. Thinking he'd think about it later he continued, staring into the depths of the cup and seeing something else. He spotted it right away, on the opposite side of the bone what an animal. Peering closer into the cup he almost smiled. A deer was in the middle of the cup.

Well that was easy enough, he already knew he needed to overcome his shyness and he was working on it. Slowly. Already he felt compelled to tell that Potions professor how he felt about her doing what she did, nearly terrifying him in his nightmares a few days after the class. But he knew the cup didn't mean that kind of shyness; it meant shyness all around. He couldn't help it. Knowing he'd ponder that mystery later he looked for the last symbol.

It wasn't like the adults trusted kids. He wasn't sure if that's what the vase meant after all but what else could it be?

Emma relaxed and began to drink the tea. She stopped drinking when she could see the tea leaves at the bottom. She looked at the shapes with an open mind. There looked to be a rainbow and a rose. She looked closer and saw a broken X shaped cross and a wolf. She began looking up definitions.
Quote:
CROSS - if like a 'T' = hard won success and happiness; if like a solid 'X' = warning (look for meaning with nearby symbols); if like a broken 'X' = obstacles and losses are ahead.
RAINBOW - your wish will come true; similar to an arch, it links represents the path between today and your destiny.
ROSE - new romance; deepening of love.
WOLF - you will be challenged or betrayed by someone.

Emma looked at the tea leaves meanings, she thought, Okay looks like I'll have some rough spots but then some good places. She wondered what obstacles would stand in her way.

Ellie looked into the glass and rolled her eyes. Of course...

She raised her hand anyway, "Professor... I don't understand," yes she did, this was a bunch of nonsense, "I've got a bicycle on top... a crown.. in the middle... and what looks like a vocano? at the base..." She shook her head.

Alex sighed waiting for the Professor to answer her gazing into her teacup again. She frowned realising their were two more that she had missed. One looked like an Exclaimation Mark which she actually knew what that meant. The other she realised squinting was a wheel? She sighed writting it down:
Quote:
Top Part: Bear, Exclaimation Mark
Middle: Bones
Last: Snake, Wheel
Alex frowned she knew the Exclaimation Mark was warning her of not paying attention or to beware of her implusive actions, She also knew the Wheel was telling her something was going to change her life. She wondered what that had to do with Potions Class.

Selena sighed. She was no good at this.

She wrote down some notes and raised her hand. "Professor, what exactly does this meant?" Selena asked.
"Well, let's see..." Nolan said, pausing near the girl's desk to look into her teacup. "First off, what do you think the symbols look like? Remember, what looks like a bowl to me may look like a sun to someone else. It's all dependent on what YOU think they look like," he explained.

Hmm, that was a tricky question. Nolan himself just drank his tea the way it was--he never felt the need to get all fancy with his tea OR his coffee. He didn't like those mochafrappelattechino things or whatever they were.

"Well, since you WILL be draining all of the liquid before the reading, I suppose a small amount wouldn't hurt. I've never heard of added ingredients effecting the outcome of a reading," he explained. "Although, that might make drinking it rather tricky if you can't see where the tea leaves are floating around," he added with a chuckle. That'd be unpleasant!

"Great," Nolan said with a grin. "Keep up the good work!" he encouraged her. Hopefully now that she knew what the symbol looked like, she'd be able to interpret it easier.

"Bear, bones and a snake, you say?" Nolan replied. He walked over to her desk and took the parchment he had passed out on her desk and ran his finger along it. "Well, first, let's take a look at the meanings on the chart..."

Quote:
BEAR - a grouchy and difficult person; strength, courage and endurance; if teddy bear = children or childhood.
BONES - situation calling for innerstrength and spiritual fortitude.
SNAKE - someone who does not deserve your trust.

Er, yeah, he had no idea.

Let's get to the middle! That's when Treyen actually narrowed his eyes to get a better look at to what he was seeing. A beetle! Oh, no! Another insect! He was not liking this.

Nolan walked over to the Hufflepuff's desk, glad to hear he wasn't like DYING on the tea leaves. That'd be a horrible way to start the term! He peered into his cup and contemplated it for a few moments. To him, it looked a bit like a broom, but he wasn't sure if that was what the Hufflepuff saw.

"I think it looks like a broom--but what I think isn't important. What do YOU see?" he asked with a grin.

A goat..
and was that an ant or a bow? She couldn't quite guess...

"Professor, what if were not so sure what it is?" she couldn't help but ask.
"If you aren't sure what a symbol is, I would recommend going with the first symbol that popped into your head," he told the girl who seemed to be having trouble deciding what symbols were what. "Go with your gut instinct."

"We're reading our tea leaves now, Simon," he reminded him. "Come up here, grab a bag of tea leaves off my desk, and brew yourself some, then follow the directions on the board," he told him with a smile before tapping the board to show him once more where the steps were.

Since bicycle means choosing your own path, I'm guessing that's indicating that you're currently a very free spirit," he explained. "The middle refers to the very near future, and the base section represents the ultimate conclusion you should draw from your tea leaves. So what do you think those other two symbols mean when you know about the sections they're in?" he asked er.

Suddenly, Nolan heard a CRASH from the other end of the room, and his head immediately jerked upwards. That sound was...NOT GOOD. Not good at ALLLLL. Had someone dropped a teacup? He listened to see if the sound of the shattering was followed by the sound of someone crying out in pain as their tea burnt them...but nothing. That was even worse. His stomach sank as he looked around, and when his eyes finally fell upon the source of the shattering noise--he was pretty sure his heart stopped for a second.

He let out a loud gasp and rushed to the scene. Oh no, oh no oh no oh no! His crystal ball! It didn't matter to him that it wasn't HIS crystal ball--the one he loved and had kept safe and sound in his office--but still. You couldn't just FIX these. It was like breaking a prophecy! Once you broke it, you could repair it but making it magical and putting that foggy mist in there? Not happening.

He picked up one of the shards of glass carefully before pulling out his wand and repairing it. Sigh. Useless. It was just a glass orb now. Pretty to look at but useless to look into. He turned around to face Lucky, his blue eyes staring her down as he prepared to punish her.

"2 points from Slytherin!" he scolded the girl. "Not for clumsiness, but for not even apologizing for breaking my property," he told her. HMPF. He'd been waiting to take points from that child for a LONGGGG time. She deserved it. Especially after she was mean to Torin the other day too. A point loss for her was really overdue, actually. Maybe she'd be less cheeky now!

"Alright everyone, wrap up your tea leaf readings in the next few minutes!" he said to the class, waving his wand and putting an Inpenetrable charm around the remaining crystal balls on the stand. NO MORE BROKEN ITEMS!

Ellie thought.

"So, now I'm independent, which I get..." It's true... she was perfectly fine on her own.. "But soon, I'll be recognized for my talents?" Okay, that seemed a little odd... though... she did have quidditch tryouts... but what did that have to do with getting in trouble? "And... ultimitely.. my life will explode?" What?

Oh and now he was all mad about the broken ball... Great.

Selena nodded and groaned inwardly when she heard two points from Slytherin. Selena bit her lower lip. She saw a moon. It was definitely a crescent moon on the center, then... that was a sun on the outer, and as for the inner rim... that was definitely a... cat? No... it was a tear droplet. She scribbled it down and tried to decipher it.

Lucky had just finished drinking her tea when the Professor came over and tried to fix the crystal ball, and then he took TWO POINTS from Slytherin. What? WHAT?! It wasn't her fault that he wasn't smart enough to shatterproof those crystal balls. Not her fault. At. All. She placed the tea cup on the table, and then she crossed her arms over her chest. She looked up at him, not even saying a word.

But she did say she was... Wait, no she didn't. Oops. "I'm sorry, Professor Dude." That you didn't think about shatterproofing those crystal balls. This guy was obviously NOT a Ravenclaw in his school years. And she would have said that if she hadn't had points taken from her and if she had more taken, she knew the Slytherins in the classroom would hurt her after class.

She turned back to her tea cup to see what kind of Symbols she saw.

Was that a bat? Yes, that was a bat at the rim. She was pretty sure that was an apple at the base, but what was that in the middle? Hmm. It looked like a castle, so that's what she was going with. After figuring what the symbols were, she picked her quill up and wrote them down on the sheet of parchment that had the directions of this activity on it:

Quote:
Rim: Bat; I will do something that will call for an alert caution of some sort?
Middle: Castle; I will expand my horizons
Base: Apple; I will some kind of creative achievement due to expanding my horizons
She was done. Yayy!

Finally done with her tea, and not really enjoying it all that much either, Evelyn made sure that there was still a little bit of tea left at the bottom of the cup before giving it three good swirls and turning it upside down on the tray that the cup came with.

Now, three deep breathes right? Really, this was making her so tired. It was starting to get hard to keep her eyes open. But she managed, and after about ten or fifteen seconds, she picked her tea cup back up and looked inside it. Well, there was...black specks. What a surprise.

Sighing, she leaned back in seat as she held the cup. Might as well start with the bottom of the cup right? Turning the cup around in circles, she tried to make out what picture would be at the bottom, but could only decipher it as just one big giant blob with a few other little specks around it. Well, looking closer at it, she noted a slight sliver of a line going through the black blob and stopping in the middle of it. So, it was... scissors? Looking down the list that the Professor handed out, there was indeed something on scissors. Huh.

Not paying any attention to what the meaning was, she looked back in her cup and tried to figure out what symbol had made an appearance in the middle of her cup. Turning the tea cup in circles once again, she tried to find any indication of ANYTHING. Ears? Swords?...Teeth? Even though that may have not been on the list. But finally, she focused her attention on one specific part of the cup. It almost looked like eyes, but...not at the same time. Frowning deeply, she stared at it for a moment longer, looking at all the specks of tea leaf together, she figured it might have been a mask. Well, whatever. Writing that down in her notebook along with her other finding, she started to look at the rim of the cup.

Now, this one was the most difficult. How in the world was she supposed to find a picture that had barely any space? She tried anyways. And it definitely took the longest time to focus her attention on a part that might be of any significance. Finally though, tilting the cup so it was on it's side, she saw it as clear as the sky on a bright sunny day. A question mark.

Looking at her parchment, she stared at the words for a moment before looking at what else she had written. The rim was present time, the middle was near future, and the base was the total outcome of her life? Was that it?

Quote:
(base) Scissors: it may be time to remove yourself from a situation or relationship.
(middle) Mask: a secret to be kept.
(rim) Question Mark: reconsider your plans; be aware of an important question you should ask yourself
And this was just about her life in general right since she didn't ask a specific question or think of a specific thought? It seemed pretty spot on so far that's for sure.

Tea, huh?

Destiny never actually tasted a real cup of tea before. Her parents never had the stuff and who knew what 'stuff' her grandmother used in hers. Just thinking about that sent shivers up her spine. She waited for the cup to land on her table and the water to pour itself before walking to the front for her tea. When she made it back to her table, she placed the tea inside the cup and waited. How was she supposed to know when it was drinkable?

Annnnd, it looked good. But then again, she was used to looking at her grandmothers. Anything would look better than that!

She didn't have any questions that needed answers, so she closed her eyes and cleared her mind..or she tried to clear it. Who would have thought a head full of cotton could be so full of thoughts? Ha! Once her mind was finally cleared, which took a few minutes, her eyes opened and she picked up the tea cup with her LEFT hand. Blowing on it a little, since she was already burned in class once, and once was indeed enough, she started to drink. It was..GROSS! Sticking out her tongue, she swished the contents around three times then placed the cup upside down on the saucer.

One breath.
Two breaths.
Three breaths.
Done!

Okay, now to find these symbol things. She flipped the teacup over and leaned in close. Hmm. The rim of the cup had a weird looking shape. It sorta looked like a square..or a..BOX! Haha! The first symbol was definitely a box. Opening her book, she flipped through the pages until she found the meaning of box.

Quote:
BOX - you are about to receive a gift.
My birthday is coming up.
Obviously, she gets gifts on that day!

Moving on to the middle of the cup! She needed to lift the cup and tilt it around a little to get the symbol right. It was a Fox. Definitely. It even had the bushy looking tail! Placing the cup back down, she flipped through the book once more.

Quote:
FOX - a cunning person may be trying to trick you.
I'm in Slytherin. That happens everyday.
Well, maybe every other day.

And now, the bottom of the cup! Leaning over she knew what that symbol was without even getting closer. A dog! Flipping through the book she stopped and read the meaning, glancing at Evelyn for a quick second.

Quote:
DOG - good friend; if at bottom friend needs help; if barking, untrustworthy friend;
My friend needs help?
Yeah, like that would ever happen!

This was class was CRAZY!
