Divination I :: Tasseography Professor Reynolds was at the front of the class, sitting on the edge of his desk as the students trickled in. He straightened his glasses and did one last glance around the room to make sure everything was in it's proper place. The classroom hadn't changed much since Dumont used it--with the exception of a few more potted plants to decorate the place. Nolan couldn't deal with all those magical ones in the greenhouses (or anything that was OUTSIDE in general), but regular old house plants were one of his favorites. "Welcome everyone, please take a seat," he said as the first students started to arrive. Could they tell he was nervous? EEP. FIRST LESSON. He was definitely nervous, but he was doing his best to stop his voice from shaking and his palms from sweating. "As you come in, please make a nametag on your desk, stating your name and your house. If you're a prefect or Quidditch captain, it'd be nice to know that as well," he added with a small smile. He needed to know who held the badges in this room! "We'll get started once everyone has had a chance to sit down and make their nametags," he explained. OOC: Links to helpful info and points in the lesson: What IS Divination? Arya walked into the classroom with her bag slung over her shoulder. She wasn't in her usual cheery mood, but there was a smile on her face. Taking a seat in the middle, she droped her bag on the ground and glanced around the classroom before letting her eyes settle on the new professor. "Hello Professor." Pulling out her quill and parchement, she wrote the information needed, folded it, and propped it up so the professor was able to read it. Quote:

Abby walked into the Divination classroom and decided that she would have to choose a seat near the front. The subject wasn't one that easily held her attention for long. Plopping down in a seat, she waved and smiled at the professor. "Good day, sir," she said cheerily. He seemed nice. She looked down at the nametag on her desk. Well, that was a smart idea. None of the other professors seemed to have thought of that. She wrote her name down neatly on it and put in on. Yup! Nice and ready now. |
Ella opened the door to the first Divination lesson and smiled at the Professor. "Good day sir." She said, then took a nametag from the front before sitting down at a desk. She got out a quill and wrote her name and house underneath. Quote:

As usual, the more energy the trip to the classroom consumed, the more hyper Ty was when he entered. Against common sense? Perhaps, but then again he was always not what people expected. Bouncing into the classroom, Ty nodded to the Professor as he took a seat near the middle. "Hello Professor!" he squeaked, his eyes bright with excitement at the prospect of a whole new lesson. Plonking his bag down onto the floor, he quickly took out his writing utensils and wrote his name in big block letters, and Ravenclaw underneath. Folding it, he made it stand with the use of his inkwell and admired his handiwork. Quote:

Trixie walked in, took a seat next to Ella like she had been doing in all her lessons. She was still unsure if they were on speaking terms at the moment but oh well. "Good Morning Sir. How are you today?" she asked the professor. She picked up her phoenix feather quill and wrote down Quote:

Simon walked into the classroom, he was excited, he hadn't seen the Professor since there little chat in his office. "Good day Professor Reynolds, how are you?" Simon smiled at the Professor and took a name tag. Simon went and found a desk and sat down and wrote his information on the name tag. Quote:

Patroclus walked into the first Divination's class of the year. He was excited to see what the New Professor Reynolds brought to the subject. "Morning Sir," Patroclus smiled at the teacher, trying to put any worried thoughts he may have at ease. Following the professors first instructions he teared of a scrap of parchment and filled out his Name, Year and House. http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i4...ss/nametag.jpg |
Kevin wandered into the divination classroom and said "Morning Sir" Kevin wrote his name and his year and house down onto a bit of parchment Quote:

Destiny was in trouble. She had forgotten to put her glasses on before heading up to the classroom, and now, she couldn't SEE! Pretty funny considering she was heading towards Divination class. Heh. Standing outside the 'door', she squinted her eyes and 'entered' the class. That wasn't a door. Nope. In fact, it was a very hard WALL. "OW!" she exclaimed, the impact making her stumble back a bit. Rubbing her forehead, where the wall met it, the glasses that were sitting on top of her head..the WHOLE time..slid down, finally resting on the bridge of her nose. Oops. Walking into the classroom, using the REAL door, she greeted the Professor with a smile and a nod of her head. She found an empty seat as far away from raccoon girl as possible and took out parchment and a quill. Quote:

Mina skipped toward the Divination classroom. Wait, skipping? Why was she skipping to all places? Something was definitely not normal about that, she knew it. Perhaps it was she was happy to actually go to the lesson. One might even say she was looking forward to it. Things have been on her mind of some time and she was now driven to look to divination to clear things up, well at least that's what she figured was the next logical step. Walking into the room, she made her way toward the front. Seeing yet another new professor, she smiled. "Good day, professor," she greeted him with a smile and nod. She wasn't all to sure what to think of all the new additions to the staff, but save for one, they seemed like nice people. Pulling out some parchment and her quill, she started on her nametag. Rae had stumbled in and sat down, she had just woken up from her last class, and now had homework with which she had no idea what it was about. but she took a nametag and wrote... Quote:

Evelyn was having a hard time walking into the classroom. Since she was walking right behind Destiny, she witnessed the entire event where her friend missed the door and that was just...Bahaha! Clenching her sides, she leaned against the wall outside the classroom, taking a few deep breathes before standing up and walking into the classroom, making sure no giggles or snickers escaped her. Pssh, don't want her friend to know she was laughing at her. Hehe. "Hello, Professor." she smiled at him, giving him a small wave before sitting down next to Destiny. Name tag? Looking at Destiny's name tag, she had to stifle another laugh. Her friend needed conbits or whatever those things were that helped one see. Quote:

Divination. That was Professor Reynolds' class right? That professor she had met at the Start of Term Feast under, well, not so great circumstances. And those not so great circumstances even had a name...it was Violet. Hmpf. Well, she seemed to be behaving now so that was good. Nancy just hoped that this wasn't the calm before the storm... Now, stepping into the classroom Nancy directed a friendly smile at the professor. "Good day, Professor Reynolds." Would he remember her? Well, he HAD got her name wrong so maybe that was some way he had remembered her? Maybe? Well, either way, the 17 year old nodded at his instructions and went to sit somewhere in the middle of the classroom. The middle was always good. Somehow. Erm. The Prefect placed her quill and some pieces of parchment onto her desk before grabbing one of the latter and started making what Professor Reynolds had instructed them to. A nametag, how nice. Or something... Setting up the nametag so that the professor could - hopefully - read it Nancy leaned back in her seat slightly, waiting for the class to start...or something else to happen. |
Rhea finally got to the divination classroom. She was a hufflepuff, they needed special ways to get all the way up to the towers for Merlin's sake. She stopped at the door and took a deep breath relaxing her breathing before proceeding into the classroom. "G,day prof.." she was still a bit too breathless to give an extended greeting with names and title included. Taking her seat she wrote up her name tag. Quote:

Divination! Oliver actually liked Divination even though for some reason it seemed like a very girly subject. All that business of reading the stars and shizz – he didn't like that side of Divination, oh no; he liked the idea of throwing animal entrails over your shoulder or whatever and reading the future from how they landed. It was completely nuts, but it was fun to see the disgusted looks on the female students faces. Hehehe. He beamed at the professor -another new one- on the way past and looked around the room at all the faces, then sauntered off to sit next to Nancy Hudonson. throwing his bag on the floor. He grinned at the prefect before reaching out for his card and writing down his details in his untidy scrawl: Quote:

Hmm. Divination. She hadn't done this for her owls, but she had decided to do it for her NEWTS. So it was going to be an interesting affair. The blonde wandered into the class room Quote:
After writing her name down carefully she folded the piece of paper, and stood it up, so that the Professor could see it. Now to wait for the lesson to start. Yey? |
Aiden walked into the classroom, rubbing his eyes. Why was he so tired? Maybe it was a full moon or something.. that threw off one's sleep habits, yes? After greeting the professor, he plopped his bag onto the nearest unoccupied desk and pulled out the chair. All he could think about was was staring at the pretty blackness of the inside of his eyelids! Hopefully this class would have some excitement because this boy needed to wake up. After grabbing his quill and an extra piece of parchment, he scribbled his information down in his distinct chicken scratch handwriting. Quote:

Amy bounced into the classroom, hey professor, she said brightly smiling as she made her way to her seat and began to write in her book Quote:

As the girl entered the classroom, he recognized all too well that the girl obviously wasn't wearing glasses when she should--since he himself had horrible eyesight, he knew EXACTLY how someone looked when they couldn't see well. "Are you alright Miss Shepard?" he asked. Maybe she'd want to move to the front or something... "We'll start in a few minutes, I just want to leave time for everyone else to get here," he said. Yes, he wanted the latecomers to have a chance to come join the fun too! OOC: BOOOOOOOOOOOO. I had a NICE PRETTY POST where I replied to all of you, and SS killed it after I posted o_O I'm sorrrrry :[ I'll add the rest of the replies in my next post, I promise! |

Oliver leaned forward, elbow on the desk and chin resting in the heal of his palm. Oooh look there was She sat in front of him and Oliver tore his eyes away to focus on his textbook which he opened on a random page. Moleosophy? He crinkled his nose. You could read the future by looking at someone's moles!? Eh.. weird. He turned his head and eyed Nancy to see if she had any big ol' hairy moles on her face. Squinttttttttt. Meh.. not that he could see. heh. |
Divination. One of the few subjects him and his brother both hated. Barry didn`t see the point in it and Daniel hated just because he didn`t really get it. But he`d never really done divination before so maybe it would be ok. Daniel walked in and looked at the professer. No this couldn`t be Dumont he looked young. Probably someone else. He took a seat next to Destiny and Evylin. He had never met them before but they looked ok and one of them had just bumped into a wall so they must be interesting |
Most people disliked Divination. Aaron, however, found it interesting. So. as he made his way to the classroom, he had a slight smile on his face. AS he entered the room he realized he was one of the first, Great! he thought. He recognized a few faces but he didn't really know anyone. He passed the professor on the way to his seat. "Good day, professor," he said with a smile before continuing to his seat. He placed all his books on the desk in front of him before writing on the piece of parchment for his name tag. Quote:
