"maddie? Simon? Hey! I thought it was you guys...oh! Sorry I'm interrupting...umm...wow this is kinda...awkward?"

Rae was struggling halfway between the dance and halfway between the conversation. Xylon always said that, 'I wont force you.' She appreciated that he would let her make her own decisions... BUT.... Rae loved him, she really didn't mind Xylon telling her what he wants, she just didn't like being demanded or feeling like a child with no choice. Rae was about to say something about going to the healer because she knew he wanted it when he asked about lunch, and went off to dance with Gold. It wasn't all that surprising, because she knew that Gold was always annoyed by him, and Rae was pretty sure he enjoyed that. Well.... She would tell him about the healer later.



Just after Xylon found Gold, Rae was about to go back to the common room, she didn't want to dance with anyone else anyways. Then the professor announced the end of the lesson thing. Rae was kind of hoping that Xylon would hear the announcement and come right back to her so she can just make this situation right and he could go with her to the hospital wing... She would just see how everything played out.

Grayson had pretty much decided the only way she was going to get through the lesson was to pretend she wasn't being forced to ballroom dance. That and pretend she didn't have a Slytherin glaring at the back of her head, since she could tell the Evelyn girl was. If only she'd realize there was nothing going on. Especially at Gryffindor boy's joke at her name. "Of course I was right. But," she stomped on his foot as hard as she could, even though in her Converse it probably didn't hurt as much as it could have. "I'm still a girl. Just cause I'm not girly doesn't change that." Now back to the rest of the situation.

But as soon as they apparently got situated to dance, as far as she could tell comparing their position with the other students dancing, Professor Vindictus had asked everyone to change partners. If that happened she was going back to thinking of ways to sneak out. Either that or going to make sure Demarcus hadn't injured anyone, even though she hadn't seen her Hufflepuff friend since the lesson had officially started. Maybe they could slip under the professor's radar, since they hadn't technically danced yet.Until she heard a girl's voice and turned to see Evelyn standing there. Not that surprising, but at least it seemed the glaring had sort of stopped. Grayson still wasn't sure how much she'd trust the other girl. And at least she knew Gryffindor boy's name now. She sent a sympathetic glance at other Gryffindor boy, that Evelyn had been dancing with before, as she extracted herself. At the same time there was a beeping noise and Professor Vindictus ended the lesson. With a sense of freedom, she calmly looked at everyone else. "It seems nobody's dancing anymore," she observed breezily, not quite ignoring Evelyn's sigh as she looked back at Josh. "It was fun. Nice meeting you, Josh." Even though technically she wasn't sure it counted. "Sorry about your foot." Sorta.

And then she glanced back at Evelyn. "I wouldn't worry about me," other than possibly if she crossed her ever again. Nothing would happen to endanger whatever the Slytherin thought she had with Josh. That was all just weird, especially since she'd just met all of them. "Have fun," she added, as she walked off. Maybe it would be better to just leave. She could always find Demarcus later and annoy him. So she just headed for the door and slipped out. Time to go have fun plotting ideas for pranks. Maybe things she could run by Raven later.

He didn't even had the chance to dance with his girlfriend. BOO! Gazing at Nikki with a pout, Blake took her hand and smiled, "How about we have our own little practice session at the lake tomorrow?" They could also top it off with a cute picnic, "Or somewhere warm? It's rather cold out there, you know." He glanced at his watch, picked up his satchel and motioned Nikki to accompany him outside. She's is now going to help him with homework. YEAH!

THANK Merlin, the lesson had ended before Evan had to dance with Violet. He ignored all of her questions. Trying to hide his grin, he nodded at Violet at her last request, even though he took a mental note to make himself too busy for a dance with Violet that night. He just didn't want her to have some qrong impressions, which she quite tended to.

Waiting for her to get away, he got out. Maybe he'd bump into Ella...

Marie was glad that Raiden said he would dance with her. Now she would have the opportunity to suggest to him that he ask Destiny to the Ball. That is if he hasn't already asked her or if he doesn't already have another date.

She took his hand when he held it out to her and slowly stepped away from Carter. As much as she wanted to talk to Raiden, she still wanted to dance with Carter. Oh well, they would have plenty of time for that at the Ball... that is if he ever asked her to go.

"I'm not so good at this either," she said. "I promise I'll try not to step on your toes."

She gave Destiny a You better be nice to Carter look as she started to dance with Raiden.

WHAT!

The lesson was over... already? But she didn't have a chance to talk to Raiden about Destiny. That was her whole reason behind asking him to dance. Letting go of his hand she stepped back a little and looked up at him. "I think you should ask Destiny to go with you to the Ball, that is if you don't already have a date." She said quickly. "You two look really cute dancing together," she finished saying.

Having said that she now felt a little embarrassed about it. Looking around she found Carter standing there talking to Destiny. Maybe now would be a good time for her to go back over to him. "Erm, thanks again for the... almost dance." she said as she started to walk back over to Carter. "Think about what I said," she said smiling. She really did think Raiden and Destiny looked cute together, even if he was a few years older than she was.

Raiden stared at Marie for almost half a minute, as she spoke, utterly and wholly confused. He should what? To who? They looked what? As things started clicking up, however, he maaaaay have paled a shade or two before his cheeks turned very, very pink.

"I... Marie..." he murmured weakly, almost inaudibly as she stepped away from him and back towards her friend. Destiny was... young. And probably definitely didn't want to go to the ball with her Prefect. And Raiden hadn't even considered asking anyone about going. Much less Destiny.

Staring at the young girl, even though she had left him standing there in complete shock, Raiden rubbed the back of his neck before averting his eyes. Cute together. Raiden was nooooooot asking Destiny to the ball, no. Surely there was someone her age that would ask her, someone who liked her in ways that Raiden did not.

He needed to get out of here. Merlin's wrinkly kneecaps, he needed to get out of here.

Amy picked up her bags, said goodbye and jogged off to the room of requirment
