And more blushing came along. And a kiss. My my...
"I think it's time to pay Torin one of the three times I get to wear pink dresses. Mom will be so surprised that I order a pink dress..." And that was the way Annie was letting go of the whole excitement she was going through. She was going to the ball, for the first time in her life, and she was formerly invited by her lovely boyfriend.
Annie was going to wear a pink dress??? Wait! Does that mean Drew had to wear a pink tie or something? Did Annie want them to match like that?! Because wearing a pink tie would not be one of Drew's favorite things but he would..."Does this mean I should be wearing something pink to match?" He asked raising an eyebrow....

"Ewww...no. I'll see enough pink for that day. How about a red, white tie?" Annie was shuddering, she couldn't see more pink than her dress that day, she was already puking over the fact.
But...meh...Torin. iStare.
But then to calm Drew down, she said. "Well, as long as you're there...I'll be happy, my dear. So...chillax about your attire." And with a nod, she continued dancing. Switching partners, could not be such a great idea when she changed between two in less than a song, so...was it alright?

After being hurt from not being asked to dance by anyone, Choluna stood up, walked over to the dance floor, and started dancing by herself. Choluna took 8 years of dance as a muggle, so she was quite good at this. She gracefully glided across the dance floor, looking like a cloud swirling around in the sky. She gracefully did a twirl, and continued to dance. Although she looked beautiful, inside she weeped with sorrow and unacceptance by boys. She felt like an outcast. Only muggle boys had ever been attracted to her, and she wanted a wizard, but maybe there was somethingabout her that boys didn't like. She felt so insecure.

The music had been stopped for 10 minutes and Vindictus couldn't believe the students who were still dancing and ignorning his directive to find another partner.
He was about to say something and embarass those who were dancing when the small hourglass next to the ancient-looking record player emptied its last grain and began to emit a beep as the glass flashed red. Tapping it twice, the enchanted hourglass returned to a normal state.

"That annoying sound was the timer and I'm sorry to say that the time alloted for the lesson has ended," Vindictus announced to the class. "Remember everything we covered at this lesson and don't forget to be on your best manners at the Alumni Ball. Now I think some of you need to get to your committees. Class dismissed!"

Le sigh.
Did they really have to change partners? Really? Ugh. William was the only boy she knew, and she didn't want to not dance with him. Even if it was kinda awkward, he was her friend and it was cool to hang out with him. But still- they would probably get yelled at if they continued waltzing, so she smiled at him, hoping he'd save the next dance for her. "Well, I'll see you in a minute."
Kinda sadly, she walked off, looking for a new dance partner. Eh, Keeley didn't want to waltz with some stranger. Well- Cela seemed to have been having fun when she was dancing by herself. It was a good idea, really. No awkwardness. No stepping on toes. So, she promtly started to dance with her imaginary partner, not as clumsy as before.

Whoa. Was the lesson over? Already? Woot! Keeley smiled, and stopped dancing with herself. Or an imaginary partner, really. But whatever, it was done. She went over to the benches, going to grab her bag and sketchbook and stuff, wondering what she would do for the rest of the day.

Cela turned around at the shoulder tap and smiled at the Slytherin. Didn't he used to go out with Gold? She only really knew who he was through classes and random gossip, which she was totally not keeping up with these days.
"Sure, Dylan." She offered her hand cheerfully.
Dylan smiled and took her hand. "At least you won't be dancing by yourself now." That was always a good thing. She might be Head Girl, but that didn't mean you looked cool enough to do it by yourself.
Oh he hoped he could dance. Well enough for her anyway.
But then the buzzer went off. Time was up. Darn. He hadn't got a chance to dance with Cela. Maybe at the ball.

*Pout*. Aw, it was time to go already? But she didn't even get to dance with Evan yet!
Sad face.
But hey that meant they could dance at ball right? Hehe. She looked at Evan not wanting to let go of him yet but finally did. "Well we could just dance at the ball then." she told him, while walking towards the door.

Choluna walked up to Keeley to dance, but the professor told them that the class was over. "Hey Keeley! Want to walk out together?" She was disappointed no one asked her to dance, not even her best friend Keeley!

Keeley glanced up from her bag grabbing and spotted Choluna. Hmm... she hadn't seen her in ages! She waved, skipping over to her fellow Eagle, white hair flying behind her. She smiled, wondering what she would sketch today. Hmm.... people, perhaps? "Hiya! And sure."
Finally! Alex thought getting up readying to leave. She came she attended that should be enough for her sometimes over bearing mother. Taking a look around Alex pratically fled out the door.
Selena was shocked. What time to leave? She grinned. YES! She gave a curtsy to Patroclus. "I hope you have a good remainder of the day," she said before she rose from the curtsy and walked away. Finally!! She got to leave! Selena walked halfway before bolting out. Yes...

Hmmph. The lesson was over and not one boy had asked her to dance. Not even her boyfriend. Well, thaat was just fine. Maddie stood up and grabbed her bag, running out of the door and to her common room. Was she going to go to the ball? Probably not.

Carter was about to get into dancing position until time was called. "Looks like you lucked out." he told Destiny.
"Now you can go eat allll the food you want." he said. Yeah, he had heard something that sounded suspiciously like a rumbling stomach.
"If you want to wait I bet Marie is hungry and we can all head over together." he suggested. Not that it was really a huge journey from one side of the Great Hall to the other.

I'll Spend Forever Wondering If You Knew__________________________________ _____________________________________________I Was Enchanted To Meet You
As more and more people crowded to the center, Christopher grew more and more uneasy. Now it seemed there were less and less people on his side of the wall. Moments ago, it had seemed like the wise thing to wait and try the 'let them come to you approach' but fortunately/unfortunately? that didn't seem to be working.
Now his brethren were succumbing to feminine wiles and making their way across the room to ask for their hand to dance, leaving him one of the few guys left. Dragging a hand through, his hair he stood up a little straighter aware now of the acute out numbering of girl to guy ratio.
And most of the guys had already been asked...and quite frankly most of the girls for that matter.
Never one to be outdone, Christopher quickly analyzed the possibilities. He could either A. stay here against the wall and wait for someone to ask him, B. leave and risk his Head of House's wrath, or C....he could actually ask someone. Ask someone and risk rejection. Rejection..bah.
Since when did he fear that. If he was going to do this, then he was going to enjoy himself. And how did CJ best enjoy himself...well with a challenge of course. Hiding his fear of rejection behind a mask of overconfidence, he strode across the room and made a great show of looking around, rolling his eyes, and then heading in a direction at 'random.'
Making it seem for all the world as if he'd headed this way as a last resort. Because he didn't know anybody else...which was mostly true. Standing before supply list girl, no she had a name, Ivory he corrected himself mentally, he gave her his crooked grin and extended a hand.
"So I wonder...after falling and tripping," He caught himself at the last minute since he'd been about to say 'for me' and continued casually."- so many times would you give me a chance to return the favor?" He meant of course that he'd give her the chance to trip him and for him to fall for a change. But of course she didn't know he knew how to dance, there'd be no falling on his part. Hopefully it would be a surprise. Maybe even a pleasant one.
As she stared across the seemingly sea of couples in the hall, Ivory attempted to braid her hair. One over, one under, and around, and all over again. Over, under, around....Of course having long layered hair was a curse in these situations because braids were just not possible since they ended up just looking like frayed rope due to all the shorter hairs persisting to stick.
With a sigh of exasperation, she finger combed the ripples out leaving once again her boring regular hair. Pondering on the easy way out and if there were possibly some sort of charm that could perfectly braid hair for her, Ivory did not really take notice when a certain boy walked across the room or the antics that he devised. In fact, she'd been pretty sure he was going to ask someone near her since the odds of them getting along were so slim.
She was so sure of this fact that when she heard his voice, she couldn't help the involuntary look behind and to the side of her to see if he meant someone else...that is until his words set in. All veiled comments aside, because oh yes she'd caught the silent 'for me' even he hadn't said it, was this his abnormal prideful way of asking her to dance?
Answering his crooked grin with her own disbelieving one, she made a show of appraising him as if he was a specimen under a muggle microscope, letting herself only see his flaws rather than his more likable attributes.
"Fall over me you mean?" In spite of herself, she gave a small laugh. He really had gall, he really did. Nevertheless, if this was him apologizing in his own way then well who was she to refuse him the opportunity to say I'm sorry. Looking around and realizing they pretty much made up the few that were left behind, she gave a sigh. A sigh that related how she was only going along with this as a last resort, she lifted her hand warily and placed it in his. "If we must."
...and so they did until the final claps on which Ivory automatically let go of his hands, gave a small curtsy, and without a word left to her committee.

Reason: Oh noes the late replies >.< lol
Rae was still trying to keep up but when she would look at Xylon he seemed distant, like he was somewhere else... The silence was killing her, it was like silent disappointment putting more pressure on her chest with each breath. "If you really want me to... I'll go to the healer." She hated going to the healer and only once had she gone this year because she threw up in charms class and was ordered to go. Still she would do anything for Xylon, even if it was something she hated. If it made him feel better if she went then she would go 3 times.
Xylon looked up. "It's okay," he said quietly. "I don't want to force you. You don't have to go, if you don't want to." Maybe it would be better if he asked her to see the healer after all. That was what was good for her. But he knew how distant she could get, sometimes just inwardly, when she thought he was making her decisions.
The music came to a stop and he looked away from Rae to hear what Professor Vindictus had to say. Oh. Time to change partners. That was the last thing he wanted to do. He came to a halt, mind still on Rae's injury and raised her injured hand to his lips. "See you after class?" He asked, still quietly. "We can have lunch together if that's alright."
Very gently letting go of her hand, he looked around only to see Gold swishing her skirts. That girl was seriously crazy. "Care to dance with me, Fire?" His mind was still on Rae. Still on her wrist. Maybe that was why he completely failed to smirk at Gold, or even sound annoying. How frustrating. But he couldn't help worrying about Rae.
Is that what people call love?

EEP! That girl was touching his shoulder! Narrowing her hazel eyes, Evelyn continued to try and stare a hole through the girl's head, though it wasn't working out too well. It was worth a shot though. Just imagining it was good enough for now.
With one final step however...
...the Slytherin stopped both herself and Simon for a moment as she heard the music stop, making her focus go towards the Professor and the record player, however she still kept her hands on his shoulder and in his own hand.
Switch partners?
"Taking the lead." she mumbled before pulling and spinning them towards Josh and the unnamed winkle clothed Ravenclaw girl. When the two of them were right by them, Evelyn stopped and faced Josh first with a small smile on her face before looking at the enemy the girl. "Hi! So I just heard we are to change partners." Queue the small glance towards Simon before looking back to the others. "I know you two were just starting buuut..."
Perhaps they could switch? Yes?...YES?! "Josh? Would you like to dance?"With me? Instead of her! Psssh.
Hearing Professor Vindictus, Simon stopped dance along with his partner to listen to the instructions. He bit the inside of his cheek for a moment trying to decide what to do about switching partners and glanced back at Evelyn as they remained in a dancers hold.
The Gryffindor had just enough notice of his companion's words to keep from staggering again as she spun them in the direction of the other couple. When he suddenly was face to face with his friend, Simon had the decency to look slightly appologetic hoping he hadn't made the wrong move asking Evelyn to dance. Though he was relieved to see Josh was happy rather then the look Evelyn had.
That must have been what had her attention he mused to himself as he fit the pieces together. He caught sight of the slytherin's glance out of the corner of his eye his attention remaining on the other pair as Evelyn asked his fellow Gryffindor to dance. Unfortunately there wasn't much need for it for Vindictus soon announced the class was ended now leaving the four staring at each other.

Eh? Trust Xylon Saar to head over. Gold should have expected it. He KNEW that would annoy her. But then he spoke, and she realized he did not actually sound annoying. He wasn't even smirking, and that was honestly a mini-miracle. Gold's green eyes flickered, to look over at the girl he had been dancing with, earlier. Rae. It was like he was a different person altogether, every time he was around her.
Did he love her?
Xylon Saar, in love. THAT would be a surprise.
"Not really," she said, brightly. "But I'll dance, if you want to." She stuck her tongue out at him, in the hope that he would realize she was in a good mood not to be ruined. If he didn't - well, then that would be nothing new. She couldn't remember ever having gotten along with Xylon for more than five minutes and, well, she expected not to in the future, either. Even though she tried her best. Merlin, she tried!
Really!

OOPS.
"Sorry, Xylon." Gold looked up at him, and gracefully removed herself from his grip. "Looks like we don't get to dance, after all." She tilted her head a tiny bit, to look at him out of cheerful, green eyes. "I can tell you want to go back to Rae. Good luck!"
She gave him a teeny-tiny, happy!happy smile, and wandered off, watching students file out of the classroom.
Ellie just giggled. Be nice? Psshh... She would only do as necessary.
"I'm going to try to learn to hit with my left hand as well. My right is dominant, so being able to do both would give more of an edge. How do you think your team is?" Bah! Now she wasn't sure what to say. They talked about her too much. They have to share the conversation. Otherwise it gets all awkward and stuff.
WHAT?! Oh. Treyen must talk to Miranda and tell her to send their own Beaters after Jake in practice, that way they'll test the boy against bludgers. Though, he'd been playing forever, apparently, but had Jake played against a Beater that just shattered their own bat?
Good question.
Well, at least Jake was fast.
"That sounds pretty good" and it should terrify the other teams, "We...well...I think we are good together, some of the players had played together before, so, that helps a lot" confidence-wise, because they knew how others played, plus, they understood each other...so far.
And then...

"Class dismissed. I guess we'll be seeing each other around school" he nodded towards Ellie and stood up, "It was nice dancing with you...and thanks for teaching me how to lead" the last part was almost a whisper, no one needed to know that, right?
The little Lockhart smiled, and waved goodbye as he started to walk away. Destination unknown.

She didn't particularly care what my or may not have gone on between the Slytherin and Gryffindor boy. Since once again she wasn't planning on anything happening, beyond not getting on Professor Vindictus's bad side by not participating in class. And maybe making another acquaintance that she could play with.
And he was back with the calling her lady, which only made her laugh more. He really didn't know when to stop. And he also didn't know a thing about her. She almost let herself feel disappointed that she didn't have Draco with her. She imagined having a ferret pop out of her robe pocket would be a good way to convince him she wasn't a lady. But she needed to pay attention to what he was saying. "My name?," she said once she got her giggles under control again, although it was tenuous. "I'm Grayson. Grayson Kelly." and if he said anything about her having a boy name, she was going to purposely step on him. Or kick him. She wasn't sure which, but seeing as he was instigating them actually starting to dance, either would be effective. And at least she could try to manage imitating the others who were dancing, like it seemed he was suggesting. "Okay." At least he wasn't quite as tall as, oh, say, Torin. She could reach his shoulder, at least. The Hufflepuff prefect would have to pick her up or something if she was dancing with him. And that thought made her want to laugh again.
Josh nodded when the girl repeated his question and for a moment he thought she got surprised because he asked her name. Yet why? There was no reason to get surprised over that so the boy tried to psuh the thought out his mind. Out out out. Okay. And when she said her name, the boy at first raised his eyebrows then smirked ''You were right then. I should not have called you a lady, Lord Grayson'' he joked hoping that the girl would take it as a joke. Otherwise, Josh had a sense that he might be dead.
Then after she put her hand on his shoulder, he grabbed the Ravenclaw's hand and put a hand on her waist to finally begin dancing yet Professor Vindictus was telling them to change partners. Change partners! Now then who Evelyn would dance with? He needed not to wait for the answer since after a couple of second he heard her voice talking...asking him to dance. And the next moment the lesson was over. Weirdness and dissappointment. The couples now was standing there staring at each other. ''Well...'' Josh disturbed the silence among them ''...that was fun''

Its possible Celandine actually considered saying something cheeky but she simply flashed Vindictus a smile and moved over to pick the thing up. Levitation of course, that way she'd be less likely to drop it.
"See you later professor, save a dance at the ball for me!" Teehee. She levitated it in front of her and left the room.

Whaaat?
Looking at the professor in disbelief, Evelyn sighed, trying to block out that incredibly annoying beeping noise, the Slytherin looked back at the others before turning to go find Destiny.
