Rhea smirked when he laughed. She always liked making people laughed and liked it more so that it was her best friend laughing. He did have a point though, she was strange in her own odd ways.
"Heeey, I'm not obsessed with the lake, I just prefer being there to other places." She corrected with yet another trade mark smirk.

Rhea shook her head, maybe she would indeed regret not attending the ball but for that one night she wouldn't have to deal with being alone so maybe it was worth the risk?
"Well yeah I know they don't, but I donno, we'll just have to see how the night goes. If I have a sucky time I'll rip the fat lady off the door way into the Grffindor common room the next day and keeeel you."
She smiled sweetly.
"So what other dances do you like to do besides waltzing?"

Milo smiled. "I am too. I just hope that there isn't a whole mess of drama." he replied and then blushed realizing in fact he did have to bow. Bowing low to show respect to the young woman in front of him, he took ahold of her body once more and listened carefully to her instructions.

"I think I can handle a waltz, Trix." Milo said confidently as he started to move in the wrong direction...

"Sure" She said moving faster. "Umm... Well i grew up in a small village in Ireland." She said with a smile.

Selena walked over to the boy. He looked older than her, but she was getting tired of being a wallflower. "Hello there, I'm Selena, would you like to dance?" she asked with a curtsy because that was how they asked people. She had attended enough of these blasted formal gatherings to know.

Trixie nodded. "Yeah so do I!! Especially after everything that has happened this term" she sighed. But it was nearly Christmas so all was good yes? And Trixie liked Christmas so she would be happy. Well as long as nothing went wrong at all. But having Aiden and Patrick together would cause more drama, especially with Ella in the vicinity. But this was MILO's party and not theres so it would be disrespectful to ruin it.

Trixie smiled and nodded. "Okay good" she said but then he turned the wrong way which meant that Trixie would have to lead. "No. Milo your supposed to lead me" she giggled pulling his body so that she was now following him and not vice versa.

Kellen shrugged about the Head Boy, "I actually have no idea what happened to him. His parents probably found some way to bail him out. You know that old stereotype about spoiled rotten rich kids... yeah, that was most of the boys at my old school."

Soccer... ah yes, football. He remembered Sabel telling him about the difference in names, though he still didn't really understand why, "Is it a recreational thing then? It sounds more like you're aiming to play professionally."

He would have ignored the step on the foot, it wasn't even hard or anything, but she brought attention to it so he shrugged again and smiled at her, "Don't worry about it. The other day in class we were braining each other with frying pans, a light little step to the foot doesn't hurt at all."

Kellen looked over his shoulder at the second guy who wanted to dance with Annie, and then to the girls who were still on the side of the room looking for partners, "There are still lots of other..."

Oh. Well, that just made a lot of difference, didn't it? Kellen smiled and took his hand from Annie's shoulder blade, doing a half-step away from her and holding her hand out for Drew, "Of course I don't mind. You two have a lovely time."

Bella smiled at the boy infront of her, casting a quick glance at the girl who also was there. Well it was either share of nothing. Right? She smiled at them both.

"Im Bella Evans, you are?" She asked the boy, whom looked very much older then her. She watched as he pulled the younger girl into a dance, she watched them for a few minutes trying to make some conversation.

As long as she had no Slytherins on any side it was okay. Wait. Why was Treyen against Slytherins now? Pierre had been a Slytherin, and he was the nicest guy he'd met, the boy even gave Treyen a book!

Interesting. Or not so much. He'd have to wonder about it later.

"It is! Well, I like it, my dad and grandpa were also Hufflepuffs" after that is when the Houses get tricky between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, starting with Gilderoy who was a Ravenclaw, or so he's heard.

Yeah. Professor Vindictus looked as if he wasn't going to change the music! Were they supposed to listen to waltz during the WHOLE Ball?! Probably not. So, why practice only waltz? Not that he minded, really, for he wasn't thinking on dancing much, but right now he was getting slightly tired, at least he didn't step on her feet, like other people were doing. "Are you tired? We can take a rest if you want?" HE wanted a rest, but...whatever Ellie wanted.

"Nope. You're obsessed." Aiden smiled and continued with the dancing. Hmm. He wondered if they'd have them practice a different dance soon.

"Okay, yeah. I don't understand why everyone is being so pessimistic lately? Even you! The ball will go fine, I'm sure." Really, he was going to this ball thing regardless of anyone else. This was a big event, and he'd be stupid not to go. He shrugged a little when she asked about other dances. "Just fox trot. Not great at that, either, though. What about you?"

Josh smiled at the girl warmly when she greeted him back. By the way she looked, he could figure out that she was not too enthusiastic about dancing that waltz thing yet the boy was sure that they were going to have fun by adding it a little bit of action. The Gryffindor boy was not the kind to do boring stuff after all and he did not want his friends suffer that same boredom either. If the Ravenclaw girl would ever be his friend.

''Great!'' he exclaimed cheerfully bouncing at where he stood and he was about to suggest if they could start when the girl spoke again. Someone got a problem? ''Hmmm...who is that?'' he asked looking around and as he did so he figured that there was no need to answer that question. His eyes spotted Evelyn looking at them which now completely confused him. She was dancing with someone else too and after the detention they get together Josh had thought she did not like him the other way. Confusing. *blink-blink* ''Rose...i mean Evelyn is a nice girl.'' he stated looking back at the Ravenclaw ''I don't think she has any problem. Now shall we start Ravie Lady?''

Patroclus was woken up from his selfpity, by a voice. Looking at it's own he found a First Year Slythrin in a curtsy. At frist shocked by the young ones approach, he could not help but smile at the young ones courage.

Standing up he bowed back, "It would be an honour." He extended his hand, ready to lend her onto the floor.

Dylan smiled, "I am Dylan Denver. Nice to meet you Bella. I am going to dance with Em here. Then I shall come back for you. Give me five minutes." He nodded, to her. She could wait? Right?

Milo felt his face go red at his mistake and looked down at their feet as she corrected them. "Alright. Try two." he said looking up at her and beginning to lead her slowly in a waltz in a small vicinity of the floor not wanting to attract too much attention to the fact that he was in fact completely awful at this.

She returned the smile at him and took his hand to let him lead her away. "So, what's your name?" she asked him. You can't dance with someone if you didn't even know their name. That was what her parents always told her. At least they were doing the waltz, the waltz was the easiest.

Trixie nodded. "Okay? Ready" she smiled softly as Milo lead her the correct way. There were too many dancing couples already in the room in order to dance properly like she wanted to. But still, she could display her dance training easily. And they were keeping to the waltz 3/4 time as well. "Natural Mover Milo" she giggled.

Bella nodded and smiled. She had heard of him, around the school. She stepped back "Sure, have fun!" She giggled. She marvelled how good looking he was. She looked at the ground.

Jenn honestly slightly afraid about all of this, dance, stuff. What if someone got stupid and fell down? Landing nicely on top of her? She was so short they'd probably not notice her and step on her or something like that. Well, that would mean she would need a nice, tall, person. Nod nod.

But, this was just a lesson, and because of her hanging out in the back she didn't have a dance partner...yet. It would just be her luck and she'd end up with a two left footed person. ...joy.

So stepping out from against the wall, she dodged and weaved around dancing people, trying to figure out who would be a good person to dance with. Of coarse, it was more polite for the guy to ask, so she pretty much just stood in the middle of the floor...swaying back and forth.

she honestly felt very...very...stupid.

Rhea shook her head chuckling.
"No I'm not, I'm just in strong like with the lake, thats all." She had to admit to her self though, she did like the lake way more than anybody else probably, why, she would just go crazy if she didn't have it to go to.

Rhea thought about what Aiden said. Was she really being pessimistic about the ball about everything? She had been feeling quite crappy over the last few days so maybe she was and hadn't even realized it. She made a face when he said he could only do the fox trot. What?? No way she had to show him a thing or two about.
"What Aiden? I have something to teach you then." She gently pulled away from him leaving him with one hand and smoothly did the under arm turn with a few quick feet movements then twirled herself back in, replacing her hand on his upper arm.
"That was a bit of rumba. It wouldn't look so silly if I had the right music."

Keeley smiled, hoping that the awkwardness part of this lesson would be over soon. They were friends after all, not random strangers. She circled to the left along with William. This wasn't that hard at all. Unless she tripped and fell of course. She smiled slightly, "It is, isn't it?" Hm.. this would get boring pretty quickly if they didn't talk. "So.." Why was there suddenly nothing to talk about?

"Oh no, its fine. I mean he already has a partner too." she replied glancing over at Mina and Evan. "And your not that bad at dancing." And it was true, other then the part where he stepped on her toes. Hehe.

When would Rhea come to accept the fact that she was in love with the lake? Aiden merely grinned and shook his head at the girl. "Excuses. I believe you're just in denial."

He lifted an eyebrow as she told him that she had something to teach him, and before he knew it, she was doing some fancy twirling thing underneath his arm. Whoa. "A bit of rumba? Okay, thank Merlin that the girls do that, because I don't think I could pull it off." He chuckled a bit and continued their regular dancing.

Rhea laughed, well if she was in denial about it, denial was a good thing to be in, because she was under her own impression that she was normal, at least more normal than Aiden was. hehe

Rhea once again laughed at Aiden's comment. What was with these British boys and being afraid of Rumba. It was a good dance, stubborn or not she would one day teach him how to do it.
"Boys do it too! I mean it's quite easy. If we get a quicker music beat I'll show you." She stated. Nope she wasn't going to make him an offer, she knew the boy would flat out refuse it.

"My dance skills are decent, right? I don't need to know any rumba!" Although it looked cool when she did it, he was sure that he'd butcher the moves. "I'd probably end up embarrassing both myself and my dance partner." He spun her for a second time, and after pulling her back, he was so bold as to even try a dip. Ta da! He smiled a bit as he realized he did it properly, then pulled her back into their regular position. "See? No rumba skills needed."

Emmy's smile widened as Keltan twirled her again - and then almost vanished completely when she registered his tone of voice. Oh no, I've said the wrong thing again, haven't I? Please don't just walk off! she prayed, biting her lip, and unconciously gripping him a little tighter than she had before...
"Oh, um, my parents are both muggles actually..." she trailed off, and then rallied again. "My mum's an opera diva, and my dad's a bank manager..." Boriiiiing. Why couldn't her father have an interesting job?

Rhea laughed. He was a good dancer, she could definitely give him that, but Rumba was so much fun. She was sure he would enjoy doing it.
"Yeah you are good, but Rumba is so much fun!" She continued dancing along with him, now really enjoying herself, maybe the ball wouldn't be so bad after all. She laughed at his next comment about butchering the dance and embarrassing himself and partner.
"Pfft, I thought Gryffindors were brave and all that," she said right before he spun her and woah ho! Aiden even dipped her. She laughed as he pulled her back up.
"It only proves to me that you would be an awesome Rumba dancer."
