Alex wouldn't panic nope she took a calming breath and just whispered one sentence, "I'm a pureblood, I know a lot from books as well." She kept an eye out for the balls and of course the Professor. She wondered when the next attack would be idly.

Selena sighed and rolled her eyes. This was why she kept it a secret. "You know... I probably shouldn't have told you because you're probably just think of one of my ancestors," Selena said. She hated how people judged her for her ancestor. She wasn't him and she wasn't evil. This was why she never really had much friends. When they found that out, they stayed away.

Sidney can't believe her shield charm has held this long. "Finite!" The lizard has gone over to some delectable looking Gryffindor and Slytherin shoes to chew. Then Sidney hears Truebridge yelling something about crickets. "Crickets! I meant the game Cricket!" Sidney's wand hand grabs her mouth. How could I have said that. He'll bombard me with cricket balls and bats. Why couldn't I say something like bubbles? I could handle bubbles. I really stink at Cricket. Sidney doesn't have time to think. Suddenly she has a swarm of crickets heading just for her. You know being a coward isn't such a bad thing for a second year. Even Professor McGonagall insisted the second years go to the Three Broomsticks before the Battle for Hogwarts. What are the chances I'll ever have to defend myself around here? The swarm gets closer and closer. She starts circling her wand around like a mad kid. If this had been a Western, you would have sworn, Sidney was circling the wagons around her. She yells at the top of her lungs, "Impiriano!" A slightly glowing light comes out of Sidney's wand and envelopes her. The crickets hit it and fall to the ground. Sidney smiles and then sticks her tongue out at Professor Truebridge. She sing, "Any spell you can do, I can do better. I can do any spell better than you..." Sidney looks over to Cadence and hopes she's got their ball protected.

Alex sighed smiling at her giving her shoulder a small squeeze, "You just have a scaley little problem. That's all, I mean people think I'm some sort of Pyromanic." Yup set yourself on fire one time and you're insane to people. "Which is a lot worse." she told her confidentally. Now focusing waiting for something to happen to the balls or the Professor to do something.

Selena gave Alex a slight smile. "How are the burns? You're alright now, right?" Selena asked. She was getting quite bored.

Alex smiled at her, "Oh the burns are non existant thanks to the Healer. and Yes i'm fine perfect actually." Alex rolled her wand in her wand before focusing. "Now just know I don't care what you can do, you could be..hmm.. the Darkest Lady in the entire universe and I'll still stand by you." Alex told her lowering her voice, people around here could easily take something the wrong way..and she was already insane to them.

Really? Just...really...

Rolling her eyes about the talk of snakes and whatnot, Evelyn glanced back towards them and scoffed. "Seriously, your conversation is getting quite distracting. Talk after class. I don't care if you're still paying attention to protecting the beach balls while talking. Just...pay attention. You'll concentrate better in the end that way."

And maybe she'll be able to concentrate better as well.

Alex would so hex her if she could really. She just had to break up her reassuring Selena. She glared at Flower, "Well not all of us have sticks somewhere they shouldn't be." Her voice was chipped and she was fully glaring at the girl for two minutes before focusing on the balls and Professor again.

"That's good," Selena said with a smile.

"Okay, sheesh," Selena said as she rolled her eyes. If Flores was a flower, it was one ugly flower.

Hermione was concentrating quite hard on protecting the balls, which was proving quite difficult. They were going every which way, it was certainly confusing.

Alex frowned realising she was seeing Hermione Dursley from the feast. "We're working as a team here Hermione, Slytherins as a house." She glanced at the Professor and kept an eye at the protected balls, "Watch out for the crickets and eggs..and bugs..and the lizards." Alex kept an eye and ear out just in case. focusing more on the balls then explaining the task to her confused fellow Slytherin.

"I highly doubt that." Truebridge answered Sidney, giving her a look. No need for cheek now.

A particularly enthusiastic suit of armour managed to stomp a Gryffindor ball, even while it stabbed a Ravenclaw ball. Gryffindor and Ravenclaw lose one more ball each.

Slytherin lose a ball next, catching on a sharp edge of a helmet while a couple of students are distracted and chatting.

Hufflepuff narrowly miss losing a beachball, one of their balls roll between the legs of a suit of armour.

The lizards were getting sleepy from all that shoe leather and caterpillars, one of them falls asleep on a Gryffindor's shoulder.

How the HECK had that ball burst? Gold found it hard to believe that a suit of armour could reach one of the balls, when she had made sure all the red!beach balls were faaar, FAAAR away from the danger zone.

This was either a miracle, or extremely unfair.

"Contego red beach ball! Contego red beach ball! Contego red beach ball!" she cast, her wand moving in quick zig-zags. Though her heart was kind of out of the sport, now. If the balls were going to burst, even after she had made sure they were properly shielded and everything, what was the use of even trying, in the first place?

None.

At least Mrs. Sommerfield had decided to come to her, and cheer her up. Gold petted the lizard, and cast Impiriano on it, again. To keep the lizard safe, and everything.

"Contego red beach ball!"

What was the use of this spell, anyway? It wasn't keeping the balls safe. Gold shrugged, decided she needed to stop fretting over things and concentrate harder, and cast the spell again, especially focusing on two red!balls. The third, she had shielded, but she would leave full concentration on it, to the next Gryffindor who decided to step forward.

That was all she could do, really.

That noise...

That unmistakable noise near them.

Turning around, Evelyn looked up to see one of the beach balls falling limp to the platform floor. Ugh. Didn't she tell these two to concentrate? Yes she did. Twice. Obviously they weren't concentrating hard enough. Well then!

Glancing at Destiny, Evelyn made a quick look behind at the Professor to see if he was doing anything, and since the coast was clear, she took a quick step in front of the chatty girls to make sure the shields were up on their beach balls. "Contego green beach ball! Contego green beach ball!" Destiny could probably get the other half.

Now. Beach balls...don't pop! Yes, that was an order. Inside her mind. And they better have heard it!

They weren't concentrating hard enough, were they? Xylon stepped forward and focused on the remaining red beach balls.

"Contego Red Beach Ball!" He cast, directing his wand in a zig zag.

"Contego Red Beach Ball!"

He watched the balls travel away from the suits of armour to relative safety. Hopefully no more were going to burst.

Destiny watched in horror as one of their beach balls DIED..right in front of her eyes.

Grrrrr.

Destiny glared at the other Slytherins, the ones that were supposedly talking AND keeping an eye out..yeah..they totally failed at that second part. They would totally have been fired and kicked off the team if it was up to her.

But, since it wasn't up to her, she turned her head and concentrated on the TWO remaining beach balls. "Contego green beach ball! Contego green beach ball!"

Now, she could glare at her teammates again.

Arya was having a little difficulty standing still, slipping from all the egg and caterpillars surrounding her. It didn't help that only her right foot was socked and sticky from the egg yoke. After a moment, she finally was standing still in an almost squatting position facing the plateform. Spotting a ball rolling towards danger, she ziged and zaged her wand. "Contego Yellow Beach Ball!"

For the first time in her life, Gold was thankful for the presence of Xylon Saar. Glad that the remaining red!beach ball had now been safely taken away from the 'danger-zone' by him, she concentrated on the two beach balls that she was shielding, from risk.

"Contego red beach ball! Contego red beach ball!"

Better.

Bang! not another one!
Patroclus was shocked by the depleting number of balls, he was at a loss as to why, when he was protecting them so vigilantly.

"Contego Red beach ball!Contego Red beach ball!Contego Red beach ball!"

Sophia saw her co-Hufflepuff protecting their beach ball. It turned to her way. She ziged and zaged, "Contego Yellow Beach Ball!"

Herminny knew she had to do something watching their beachball number deplete but none of the beach balls had come near her or within her reach without trampling someone till now. she saw one red beach ball heading right to the danger zone and having her wand at the ready, "contego red beach ball", putting as much concentration into it that she could musster and saw the beach ball knocked way out of the way of the danger zone but there were still a couple left. She had to be vigilant but for now she had done her job.

Alex heard one of their balls pop but raised an eyebrow, due to Hermione all balls had been protected twice by two different people no less. She found it difficult to believe that it had two renewed Contego's and still popped. She almost said so but changed her mind not her fault the armour somehow managed to penetrate two shields at once.

The game must have been winding down because Professor Truebridge wasn't casting anything at them. Looking over at Arya, she noticed her losing her footing on the slimeyness, and she wished more than anything that she was allowed to vanish the goop away, but Professor Truebridge had said they could only use the shielding charms. Pointing her wand at Arya's feet, she said, "Impiriano!" and hopefully that would keep anymore slippery grossness from getting on her for awhile.

Turning back to the dueling platforms, she saw two of her fellow Huffies protect two of their balls still remaining, so Cadence took stock of the third one quickly casting, "Contego Beach Ball!" and "Impiriano!" at the ball.

protego totalum - Protects an area
protego Horribilis - Protect against dark arts.
Protego Duo - Double layered shield, more efficient but more complicated.

"Contego blue beach ball!" Jay said aiming at the ball. Physical attacks... "Impriano!" he muttered quickly. And the ball looked like almost popping but it amazingly didn't and he waited for others.

Gold was not going to let another red!ball - not even one more, pretty please - go down, under her watch. Not going to let another die, that was not acceptable. The sixth year raised her wand again, bringing it down in a perfect zig-zag.

"Contego red beach ball!"

More Gryffindors had joined in, this time round, and she was glad of that. It allowed her to concentrate more fully, without having to worry about every red!ball under the sun. Or in this place, to be more specific.

"Impiriano."

Hey, where was Mrs. Sommerfield?
