DADA 1 (Part B)

The Duelling Arena is ready for the second part of the first lesson.

The targets are gone though there are some fairly alarming looking suits of armour marching about, each carrying alarming look weapons.

Truebridge informs you as you return, "Please take a seat in the bleachers. We'll begin when everyone has returned from the break."

ooc: part one was held here. Anyone who was still having trouble with the Histedius spell can join Truebridge after class is over to work on it.

Be sure to read the rules here. As this is a continuation of class and not a beginning of a new one, chatting will result in point loss and so will late arrivals.

After her little water break, Evelyn skipped her way into the arena again, feeling refreshed and not so tired anymore, before abruptly stopping and taking a few steps back in surprise. Why are... where were the targets?

Clearing her throat, she made herself stand up straight and look confident...as she slowly made her way around the arena near the walls, far away from the marching crazy suits of armor things, until she finally ended up in her previous seat on the bleachers near the front.

The professor, possibly might not have enjoyed if she attacked them, or they attacked her without permission. Really though, if it wasn't enough that they were those huge suits of armor that could probably crush them, why was it necessary they be equipped with possibly illegal, or should be illegal, weapons?

MistressofDawn 05-14-2010 11:29 AM

After returning from her break, Victoria sat back down at her seat and pulled out her parchment and quill to write more notes for the class.

leshley 05-14-2010 11:30 AM

After minutes of break, Sophia feels okay, excited -- again, and relax. But the relax was easily overcame by shock when she saw weapons. "What's with those, uhh, alarming weapons?" she thought to herself. Sitting on the bleachers, she managed to not look at the weapons and whispered to herself, "Well, good luck me...."

littledhampir 05-14-2010 12:12 PM

Josey skipped back into the classroom after the break. She was glad they wouldn't be doing the Histedius spell anymore, it scared her. They would be doing a nice shield charm. But when she looked at the suits of armor, she wasn't so sure about how safe the lesson would be. Eyeing them warily, she sat down on the bleachers and waited for Annabelle.

Tommehbell 05-14-2010 12:18 PM

He was glad for the little break, his cheek was still stinging but not as bad as it was a few minutes age. But him and William did good and he was keen to keep going. As long as he didn't get stung again. That wasn't fun and he couldn't console himself with a piece of candy just yet. He wiped the sleeve of his robes across his forehead and sat down on the bleachers.

brelovesweasleys 05-14-2010 12:54 PM

Rae had returned from break to see the duelling arena with marching suits of armor and weapons with them.... This is gonna be fun. She had really hoped that Fletcher would be her partner in this too, well if they needed partners. If not then she hoped he would work by her. She looked to see who was in here so far, that one kid from the leaky cauldron who didn't like her at all, Evelyn, and some other people she didn't know... When would Fletcher come back?

Canoir Greengrass 05-14-2010 01:20 PM

After several minutes breaks, Noir returned to the class and sat back to her seat..she looked around and she saw some fairly alarming looking suits of armour marching about, each carrying alarming look weapons.."Wow..this is going to be an exciting lessons" she whispered to herself.

Weela 05-14-2010 01:30 PM

After a little break, Aileen returned to the classroom and looked around. What is this? She was looking at the marching armour with wide eyes. "Well, this is going to be fun..." she whispered gloomily.

Kris 05-14-2010 01:52 PM

Alexandrie walked over to one of the many empty spots and sat down. She couldn't wait to start learning basic defense.

PatInTheHat 05-14-2010 01:58 PM

Arya skipped back into the classroom twirling her wand. She had a nice little snack break and was ready to learn a new spell. Noting the new changes in the classroom, she gave Truebridge a big smile and took a seat at the front. Her eyes never left the suits of armor as she pondered what they would be learning, occasionally popping her gum .

Lily-Luna 05-14-2010 02:01 PM

Kate retured from the break a little bit more confident. She was close to do the Histedius Spell and was sure that she will do it perfectly when she had more practice time.
So Kate entered the Duelling Arena with renewed energy, ready to begin.
Inside the classroom, she saw strange weapons and armours "What are they for?" She thought "I´m going to look fat in those haha It doesn´t matter if I have fun, and I know I will"
Kate got out of her self-absorption and saw Professor Truebridge standing inside the classroom "Hello Professor, good to see you again. I´m really curious about the armour and the...weapons?" She said in amazement, and sat down in a chair in the front row of the classroom.

PattyH. 05-14-2010 02:04 PM

Patroclus could not contain his excitement as he was greeted by Clanking suits of arms, bearing deadly weapons, as he returned to the DADA class after a lovely recess.
As it pasted his lips Patroclus summed up his joy with one word "Wicked"

StarShine 05-14-2010 02:05 PM

Distracted? Yes, that might be the case. Evan was distracted by some blond girl, and the problems she'd caused him. Working without her would be good. Taking a mental note to see the professor after class, he walked in the next part of the lesson-Dueling Arena. He didn't like what he saw. If he couldn't cast the spell properly, how was he going to beat these armours and their weapons? Hopefully, the professor would be there to help him. Or someone else. Maybe it would be enough to focus only on the spell. He found a seat for himself at the furthest point to the armours. Better not to be around them.

Poisonedbyyou 05-14-2010 02:26 PM

Soo, it was time for the second half of the class? Abby looked around. Not many people had arrived yet. And it was considerably more quiet than before without all the chattiness. Ughhh. Annoyingness. Hopefully Ravenclaw didn't lose any more points.

CruppieMom89 05-14-2010 02:38 PM

At the sound of Professor Truebridge's voice, Cadence looked up from her detailed, copious notes and practically gasped at the sight of the suits of armor marching around. How had she missed that happening? She had been sitting here the entire time! For a moment she looked back and forth between Professor Truebridge and the suits of armor, but then she realized that this was just class; he wasn't going to let anything bad happen to them. Besides, Cadence was pretty sure she'd be able to hold her own anyway. With that internal battle won, Cadence looked back down at her notes again, making sure she hadn't missed anything as she waited for the Professor to give them further instructions.

Destiny 05-14-2010 02:52 PM

After the break they had had, and after watching Evelyn drink about a gallon of water, Destiny shuffled into the arena taking a seat next to Evelyn. How in the world did her friend drink so much? She was definitely going to have to go to the bathroom later, that's for sure.

Finally taking her eyes off Evelyn, Destiny looked around the arena. Whoa! Where did the targets go? And what in the name of Merlin are those suits of armor holding!?

Destiny was gunna die..for about the third time this term.

And term just started.

Maxilocks 05-14-2010 03:06 PM

Well, here she was.

Gold skipped in, beamed at Professor Truebridge, and headed right for the back bleachers. Where she sat down, as gracefully as was possible, and waited for the class to begin.

city_girl_95 05-14-2010 03:10 PM

Amy walked back into the classroom and sat down in a chair, pulling out her books, parchments and quills, once she was sitting she spoke at least Hello Proffessor Truebridge

Lottiepot 05-14-2010 03:11 PM

Trixie skipped back happily into DADA. She was enjoying this lesson, provided that she could do the same or even better than Ella could do. Hehe. She took a seat back on the bleachers and waited for the lesson to start again officially. She enjoyed the brek that they just had. She couldn't just have a load of knowledge jammed into her head all at once.

Nixy! 05-14-2010 03:13 PM

Iris sat back down on the bleachers and looked at the suits of armour. They looked MUCH worse than the targets.

She didn't even say anything. She just sat there, staring at the Armour.

Emzily 05-14-2010 03:15 PM

After the break, Ella made her way back to DADA, feeling kind of cheerful. This lesson had been quite fun so far and she was excited and intriuged to find out what was in store for the next part of the lesson. As she entered the door, she followed the instructions and took a seat in the bleachers next to Trixie. But she wouldn't say anything to her. She didn't want to risk losing more points now would she?

DH Vixen 05-14-2010 03:22 PM

After the little break, Mina made her way back over to the bleachers again. Pulling out her notes again, she read them over and added thoughts to them. She would have to look into practising in her spare time or maybe she would just have to ask for help.

Looking up from her notes, she blinked. Those suits of armor didn't look good and she had a funny feeling about them. They kind of screamed danger to her, but she was safe, wasn't she? They couldn't hurt her or anything, well not to an extent she reasoned with herself.

Moving a bit farther from them, she returned to her notes and thoughts. Must keep my focus.....

TSnitch 05-14-2010 03:38 PM

Tori, after after the break returned to the bleachers where she had left her bag and books.
Taking a seat, was a bit wary but was ready again. She loosen her tie and rolled up her sleeves, abandoning her usual neat appearance.

BanaBatGirl 05-14-2010 03:40 PM

Rather refreshed after a nice, cool drink of water, Fletcher returned for the second part of the lesson and found Rae on the bleachers. He smiled and took a seat beside her, curious to see what they were going to do against those armed suits of armor...

TeamHermioneGranger 05-14-2010 03:45 PM

Maddie walked back in and took a seat on the bleachers, next to Fletcher. She took out her notebook and quill, ready to take notes. She double checked her wand was still in it's holster - it was - and got her textbook open to the right page. Maddie wrote a neat little heading in her notebook that Sye had given her, with her name on the front, and began to wonder what the suits of armour were for.

brave-at-heart-xo 05-14-2010 03:58 PM

Adelyn skipped happily back into the Defense Against the Dark Arts room after break and took a seat towards the front of the room. It was by far her favorite class; a whole lot better than Potions. She looked around the room as more people walked in, and wondered what the suits of armours were going to be used for. Whatever it was, Adelyn was excited.

Felixir 05-14-2010 04:15 PM

Break was done.

Jake was done.

He was sat in the bleachers casting a wary eye upon the menacing looking suits of armour, wondering how much damage they could cause.

Heh.

...

"Heh."

Mrs. Weasley 05-14-2010 04:26 PM

Sidney finds a seat in the bleachers and pulls out her water bottle. Fighting targets really make you thirsty. She then watches the suits of armours appear and start walking around. The weapons they carry look pretty dangerous. Why do I get the feeling I should stop worrying about flunking out of Hogwarts? I think the teachers will kill me first trying to teach me. Who ever knew school could be so hazardous to your health.

Rae stared at the suits of armor keeping their pace marching by, she looked over to find that Fletcher had come back from break to sit down next to her. "Wanna take a guess on what they're for?" Rae already had a guess and she was sure she was right.

purple·myst 05-14-2010 04:52 PM

Ryder followed the rest of the students back into the second half of the lesson. He went to sit in the bleachers and save a seat for Sarah.

Tazenhani 05-14-2010 05:15 PM

Shaking his head at Esme's offer of her water, he polietly declined. He hadn't been expecting that, but his mind was a little more occupied with worry over whether he had offened her, and the armour that was waltzing about. This, should prove interesting.

Looking over at the bleachers, he found two empty ones and motioned Esme towards them, leaning in to whisper so as not to distrupt the class that was about to begin. "Hey...I'm sorry if I offened you in anyway. I was just teasing...I do apologize."

Golden Monkey 05-14-2010 05:48 PM

Walking into the room once more, his shoulder more relaxed than before he walked over to the bleachers, his eyes bright. Stepping onto the bleachers he grinned as he sat down, his wand once more back in his wrist holster as he waited for his next instructions. Glancing at the scary looking armor with their scary looking weapons he gulped.

Oh boy he thought.

Esme shrugged when he declined the water. "Fair enough." She followed him to the benches, heels clack-clacking as she did so.

When he appologised, she shrugged, watching the armour that was moving around the room. She was already trying to work out what the next part of the lesson might be about. She didn't answer Sabel, partly because she didn't want to get into it since how she felt and why she felt that way was so complicated, and partly because she didn't want to get into trouble for talking. She glanced sideways at Sabel and quietly said, "Forget it, it doesn't matter."

camille ryans♥ 05-14-2010 06:00 PM

after taking her break, camille then proceeded to the dada room and settled:still recovering from the spell she made to her ever first friend. i hope she`s alright, she thought settling her self in one of the bleachers."what are we gonna do with those??',she asked herself;curiously looking at the suits;and secretly looking for jessica around.waiting patiently for the class to start.

Tyrek 05-14-2010 06:01 PM

Simon came into the class wondering was he late.Well some suit of armor's were walking around , with dangerous weapons and nobody was talking. So it started! He sat down in the back of the class, and noticed , that the class didn't actually start.'Phew' he thought. He wouldn't like to be late.

Simon thought that , the students had to use the spell they learned before break. But than , Simon remembered the notice board. It said that there will be defensive techniques and spells.'Oh , boy I can't wait.' he thought.

Half_BloodPrincess 05-14-2010 06:07 PM

After the ten minute break was over, Lysandra went back to the bleachers to await the next part of the class.

Lilly94 05-14-2010 06:07 PM

Justin returned to the classroom after his break and sat down again. Well that was relaxing and gave him chance to cool off after the many attempts at mastering the Histedius curse. Now was time to learn some other spells.

Tibz 05-14-2010 07:05 PM

Melissa walked back into the DADA class after the ten minute break. She noticed some suits of armour carrying weapons, they were huge and scary looking.

Listening to what Professor Truebridge had said she took a seat at the bleachers and wondered what they were going to do with the armour and the weapons.

saltandvinegarchips 05-14-2010 07:13 PM

Ainra entered the classroom. She had liked the last part of DADA pretty well, although not as well as arithmancy, but she was excited. The coats of armor intrigued her, not scared her. She was definitely intrested in where this lesson was going.

Weasley174 05-14-2010 07:26 PM

Simon was wondering if this would be easier that the last thing he had done, but he doubted it, he would never be any good at spell he thought to himself, he was hoping that he would be able to do a lot better with what ever they were about to do.

HaRoHeGiNeLu 05-14-2010 07:30 PM

Ellie came back in after break. She wished it had been longer, her head still hurt. Hopefully this lesson will be easier on the brain, and ears....

She was startled by the suits of armor? What was up with that? She thought them to be very creepy and tried hard to avoid them as she took a seat on the bleachers..

darlinggcdr13 05-14-2010 08:12 PM

Delilah returned from break and took a seat in the bleachers.

Beth Westphal 05-14-2010 08:23 PM

Alcemee came back after the ten-minute break and sat down, waiting for the second part of the class to begin.

AlwaysDance 05-14-2010 08:44 PM

Jackie walks back into the Dueling Arena after the break.

JackW092 05-14-2010 08:50 PM

When the break was over, Jack walked over and took a seat in the bleachers for the next part of the lesson.

miss.malfoy.211 05-14-2010 08:50 PM

Kenna walked into the Dueling Arena after her little break. Taking a seat on the bleachers, she pulled out her wand and twirled it in her fingers.

SilverTiger 05-14-2010 08:51 PM

Walking back into the classroom after the break, Grayson fingered her wand, back in its holster. Just because, although her eyes widened at the armor clanking around. Cool!, she thought. She wanted to learn how to do that. It would be funny to watch her brother run away from a moving suit of armor, although there weren't any at home. Maybe she could find a way to smuggle one home this summer.

Making her way around them, she took a seat again. Maybe they were going to have to defend themselves against the armor.

Moaning Myrtle lover 05-14-2010 09:01 PM

Ercks walked into the classroom and sat down. He wondered what the armor suits were for. Probably for practicing on...he thought to himself.

imaginarynumb3rs 05-14-2010 10:08 PM

Ryder can shove her out of Sarah's spot if he wants to. :)

Feeling pretty confident and fully hydrated, the short Hufflepuff skip-stepped back into the classroom, ready to practice some more.

Or not.

Eyes bulging, Wesley took one look at the scary weapons held by the armor men and automatically turned around so she could run away.

Except. Except she was in class. And they were going to win the House Cup this year, which meant she couldn't leave and get in trouble. And Professor Truebridge was officially back now too, which meant she shouldn't leave because it might hurt his feelings. Which meant she had to stay.

Dark eyes running over the accumulating crowd, Wesley tried to find one of the Prefects. Because Prefect = safe.

But Sarah and Torin hadn't come back yet. So Wesley picked the next best thing.

Sarah's boyfriend.

Plopping down in the conveniently empty spot next to him, Wesley gave Ryder a big grin. Now that the idea of Sarah kissing him wasn't so disgusting, she kinda thought he was neat.

Rawr! 05-14-2010 10:16 PM

Walking back in from break Jimbo looked around to notice that something had changed.

OHHH DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNNN.

O_o

What were the armor knight things for? They totally freaked Jimbo out. Normally he would have thought them cool, but these carried WEAPONS. They could HURT him. Oh, shoot.

This might get interesting.

GoldenSnake 05-14-2010 11:36 PM

All right. What is she suppost to do now? Savannah have no idea. She just took a seat and watch the show.

iBeJenn 05-14-2010 11:43 PM

Selena eyed the suits of armor a bit nervously. They looked ready for war. Selena took a deep breath and popped another chocolate into her mouth. Break time was over, it was time for lesson to being again.

TeafortheSoul 05-15-2010 12:47 AM

Cela hadn't left the room, so she had watched as Professor Truebridge switched out the targets for the suits of armour.

Looked fun to Celandine.

Syd 05-15-2010 12:53 AM

Kel frowned at the suits of armor. They looked...challenging. And scary, he had to admit. But, he was confident that he would live through the class. Maybe not unharmed - but he would live. He had faith in himself.

phoenixfirex12 05-15-2010 01:00 AM

What is this? As Alice walked back into the room she noticed the suits of armor. They looked nothing like the ones her father had in her old house, the antiques. However, these looked like they were meant to be used, and that sounded like fun to Alice.

Emma smiled and waved at Selena, she entered the classroom to see suits of armour around. She examined the armour from far away and took a seat on the bleachers beside Sel.

Walrus 05-15-2010 02:09 AM

Jacob jerked awake from his short nap. Oh break was over, but as his eyes adjusted he flinched at the sight of a suit of armour. He had to admit, even though he hadn't expected to have amour in front of him, and it gave him a shock. They were still awesome.

Alright so he was somewhat rested and there were no loud mouthed students voices echoeing through his head. That was all he needed, a little nap.

jecca 05-15-2010 02:14 AM

Jessica was happy that she had learned the 'histedius spell'. She sat back to her seat and ready to learn more spells. 'armors?' for what? she thought.

Selena turned and saw Emma there. She gave a small wave and a quick smile back. She didn't need to lose any more house points. Selena had made sure to get a seat near the front though, she wanted to see what would happen.

LeapFrog 05-15-2010 02:28 AM

Ellie rejoined the class after a quick trip to the loo. She bounced over to the bleachers filled with her peers. She nervously held her wand at her side. Her spellwork was never very good, and she wasn't looking forward to any sort of demonstration of her ability. As she sat down, she placed her wand in her pocket and nervously tapped her foot.

Snape631 05-15-2010 02:33 AM

Willow came back from break and took a seat. She stared at the walking suits of armor holding various weapons. She felt slightly intimidated, but ready for the challenge.

Hermione J. Granger 05-15-2010 03:07 AM

Hermione was feeling well rested after the short break, she walked into the dueling arena looking at the suits of armor. This was going to be interesting she thought as she took a seat on the bleachers eager to start up again.

Kaytone 05-15-2010 03:35 AM

Kay walked over and sat down. Break being over and she was looking at the new target. "Oh Boy." She said as she put her head into her hands. Class was going to be fun.

The1HBIC 05-15-2010 03:45 AM

Marie walked back into the dueling arena when she seen other students going back in. That break was definatly way too short for her. Oh well, the shorter the break, the sooner class would be over with.

Holy Merlin in a tight dress...

Where did the targets go and what were those crazy looking things the suits if armor had? This was going to be a very interesting class, especislly if they had to defend themselves against... those things.

Walking back to the bleachers she sat as farrrrr away from Evan as she could. She wasn't about to give him a chance to ignore her again.

Wenzlebug 05-15-2010 04:57 AM

Cedric made his way into the Dueling Arena after having a rather short break. Usually, they wouldn't have breaks on regular classes. And he was wondering why they had just a break on their DADA class and his guess was, maybe Professor Truebridge was hungry too so he let them to have a break and eat. And he found it so thoughtful of his professor. Hehe.

He randomly sat down next to someone he didn't know. And he was really ready for the next part of the class. He thought it would be fun, challenging yet... dangerous. And as he sat down, he noticed that there were potato chips on his robe. He hastily wiped the chips off of his robe and took a deep breath.

samthehpfreak 05-15-2010 05:05 AM

Sammy walked back into the room slightly dizzy and almost ran into a wall, after shaking her head a few times she managed to look around and see the room had been set up differently "oooookaaaaaaaay then" she said slightly confused went and took a seat with everyone else

PamParanoid 05-15-2010 07:01 AM

Pam took a last sip of water before heading back towards the The Duelling Arena. As she entered, she stopped dead in her tracks. "Whoa! What's this about?" She thought to herself. She glanced at the students who were already sitting on the bleachers and rushed over to grab an empty seat. Those suits of armour scared her. After all, they were carrying weapons.

"Hey there Camille"
She exclaimed as soon as she saw her. "still worrying 'bout me dear? I'm really fine now" She smuggled.

Add1cted 05-15-2010 11:34 AM

Jay walked in and sat in the bleachers, he got his ink and notebook ready for what the proffessor would say.

Con_Stripes 05-15-2010 12:04 PM

Once everyone was seated, Truebridge nodded approvingly, glad they had not caused any trouble or chatted or anything of the sort. That was how things should be.

"Alright, settle down." He wasn't speaking to the students either. The suits of armour stopped clattering about as if they were listening too. Ethan stopped paying attention to them in favour of addressing the kids on the bleachers.

"Who can name a defensive spell?" He asked them, launching right into part 2 of the lesson.

Oliver raised his hand. "Er.. Protego, Sir." He replied saying the most obvious one that sprang to mind.

Tyrek 05-15-2010 12:14 PM

He listened to Truebrigde ask the question. And than a sixth year boy answered it.He took out his notebook and wrote

Quote:

One of the defensive spells is Protego.
There wasn't much written , because there wasn't much said. But still Simon listened on.

TeafortheSoul 05-15-2010 12:17 PM

A lot of spells were defensive, if you used them in the right way. Celandine looked around encouragingly. Surelyyyyyyyyyyy other people knew some answers too? Should she risk spewing off a whole bunch?

She decided to go with one and raised her hand. "Theres a shield which changes glass to sand, sir."

She'd give some more answers if nobody else filled in the blanks.

The1HBIC 05-15-2010 12:22 PM

Wow,Professor Truebridge wasn't wasting any time getting back into the lesson. Marie raised her had. "Sir, Expecto Patronum," she said. Not that she knew how to conjure a patronus yet. Maybe they would get to learn how to today.

Weela 05-15-2010 12:24 PM

Aileen looked at professor Truebridge who started speaking and he asked a question. She was raising her hand when some boy answered. She wanted to say the same spell, so she lowered her hand and thought hard to came up some other defensive spell but she didn't know any other so instead she wrote down the answer and then she listened to the others.

StarShine 05-15-2010 12:26 PM

Evan, still eyeing the armours, raised his hand. "Expelliarmus is an example." There were tons of defensive spells, but this was the first that he could think of.

"Who can name a defensive spell?" He asked them, launching right into part 2 of the lesson.

Diggy looked up at the question. He had to think about it for a moment and then he raised his hand, "Protego Totalum is one sir," he offered.

Zecaar 05-15-2010 12:40 PM

Raising his hand, Santi answered, "Protego horribilis sir." He had known of the spell before, well he had even seen the spell before, though in some ways he wish he hadn't. It was only used against powerful dark magic.

Melissa thought for a moment then raised her hand. "Finite Incantatem is one," she nodded then fixed her eyes on the armour which shocked her when she came in.

Jack raised his hand. " Protego is one sir", he said.

she tried to listen and tried to answer by raising her hand..a little.

She was hesitant now to answer. all of the spell she tried to answer is already said. she lifted her hand a little."stupefy[?]" she mouthed; almost in an asking tone. glancing at jessica[who was very attentive as well] ,avoiding the Professor`s look. i hope that was right. she thought;playing with her fingers;looking down.

Wenzlebug 05-15-2010 01:29 PM

Cedric briskly raised his hand, "Sir, Stupefy is one. I know that's an offensive spell but I just think that offensive spells can be a defensive spell too," Ced answered and confidently added, "and vice versa." For him, that could really happen, that offensive spells could be performed as defensive spell... when people would use them right... and in a creative way.

iBeJenn 05-15-2010 01:40 PM

Selena thought about it. Wasn't Finite Incantatem one because it reversed spells as well? Impervius was one wasn't it? "Professor, is Finite Incantatem one? Or Impervius?" Selena offered. She hoped she was correct. She didn't want to embarrass herself in front of a class.

Moaning Myrtle lover 05-15-2010 02:02 PM

Ericks raised his hand. "If you mean literally, then Protego is usefull in defence."

Teegan sat there in the bleachers looking at the suits of armour with an eyebrow raised, surely this wasn't going to be too difficult, right? But she'd just have to wait and see what the Professor wanted them to do.

Defensive spells, that would be...Teegan raised her hand in a fluid motion, "Incarcerous, Professor." She told the professor, she had a strong urge to do anything it took to make those suits of amours to stop making so much noise, it was really starting to annoy her.

PatInTheHat 05-15-2010 02:34 PM

Twirling her wand Arya listened to the answers that were given in class and then thought long and hard about Truebridge's question. To her the question seemed extreamly vauge, like he wanted you to be creative or something, which was why she was slightly hesitant to answer.

After another long moment, she hesitantly rose her hand. "Do you just mean spells that were like....invented for the purpose of defense or spells that could be used defensively?" She mused, vaguely remembering the last lesson she had with the professor. "Cause if its the former then spells like Finite, Protego, or the Fidelius Charm are some. But if its the latter then a lot of spells could be used defensively I think. Immobulus or Impedimenta could be used to stop a spell or object. You could use a Conjuring spell to conjure object to use for defense. Muffliato....could be used defensively in a duel. Kinda like an element of surprise thing, so if your opponent can't hear you then you have a greater chance of winning the duel?" Maybe? Arya lowerd her hand with a slightly quizzical expression, still musing over her answer, unsure if she had gotten her point across. Looking around her, she picked up her notebok and jotted down some notes.

Kris 05-15-2010 02:39 PM

Alexandrie raised her hand and answered, "I believe that any spell can be used defensively. All that matters is how you use them for example transfiguration spells help you block your attackers spell and charms aren't something an attacker would think you'd use."

"Ah yes. We have touched on this before. Offensive spells can be used defensively and vice versa. Thank you both for that." He had left it open for those answers to be given intentionally.

"But we are going to work specifically on shielding today. Protego, The glass to sand shield Celandine mentioned plus two others. I believe one of the others has been on the transfiguration curriculum in the past... perhaps... three or four terms ago?" Truebridge hinted.

Surely someone knew what he spoke of. It was particularly useful when conjuring arrows...

Teegan smiled as Truebridge agreed with her on the Incarcerous spell. She brushed her hair behind her shoulders getting annoyed with her hair for a moment. She rolled her eyes a little as Truebridge finally responded to the two first years who had gone completely overboard on their answers. He hadn't asked for evidence did he? She hid her annoyance by brushing her hair back with her hands and tied it in a ponytail on the top of her head. Her bangs fell down in front of her face as she swiped them to the side and waited for the Professor to ask another question.

Three or four terms ago? Teegan gave a very apparent looking confused look on her face, what happened four terms ago? She had absolutely no idea, she was in a small Greece school at that time, how was she supposed to know...although she might've been able to figure it out if she wasn't so annoyed at the moment.

Kris 05-15-2010 03:10 PM

Alex shrugged helplessly, she was a first year how was she supposed to know if she just started recently? But she did take notes on all the spells suggested as defensive.

Weasley174 05-15-2010 03:10 PM

Simon put up his hand. "Professor isn't there that Shield Charm." He wasn't sure the name of it, or if that was the wrong. "I can't remember the nam.." He stopped and just stayed quiet, he was sure he'd gone wrong.

iBeJenn 05-15-2010 03:20 PM

Well, she hadn't been completely wrong about the defensive spells. She jotted down the rest dutifully and paid attention. She was a first year, no one should expect her to answer that question. Too hard.

PamParanoid 05-15-2010 03:36 PM

Pam had been listening attentively to what the professor was saying and the answers given by the other students. She then jotted down some notes. She had no idea what the answer to the professor's most recent question was and so she just waited for somebody else to answer. After all, it was her first year and she didn't know much.

TSnitch 05-15-2010 03:39 PM

Tori raised her hand and said, "What about Finite , it negates spells, which makes it a counter spell."
She wrote down the others,
>Expelliarmus
>Protego
>Incarceous
>Patronus charm

PatInTheHat 05-15-2010 03:45 PM

She gave her wand a quick twirl in satisfaction before slowing back to normal twirl pace. They were going to work on shielding, this should be fun. Sir Lawson had already helped both her and Ivory last term with their shield and she had improved greatly because of it.

What really had her excited was that they would be learning the spell the Cela had mentioned, it sounded fun. What the other spells were she didn't know since she had only been here for a year, but someone in the class knew yes? She looked around the class curiously.

JackW092 05-15-2010 03:46 PM

Jack wrote down notes about the lesson. He wasn't at Hogwarts three terms ago so he couldn't answer the question.
