Chris raised his hand after Professor Lawson brought out the cute little clabbert. "Professor Clabberts used ot be a pretty popular pet in Wizarding homes until the Satute of Secrecy was established and it became apparent that the red light on their heads would signal the closeness of Muggles, thus giving away Wizard's identities. The actual creatures as you can tell are small and have a large number of teeth." He nodded, satisfatory answer no doubt. The Head Boy smiled brightly at his Head of House.

Awesome! More of the same answers. "You guys are on fire today!" she teased, letting out a small giggle. They had obviously found their ways around their textbooks this summer. "You're doing a splendid job," she praised.

As if he KNEW he's was being talked about, Dexter climbed over Iliana and wrapped himself around her head. She held onto him with one hand and said, "If Dex was yours, how would you care for him?"

Chris raised his hand almost immeadiately when asked how he would care for the little clabbert Dex. "Well Professor you would have to treat him with care and be very kind to him." he first stated the obvious. Then the Head Boy went into the more correct, or so he hoped, answer. "Next you would have to try and make sure that you made him as comfortable as possible in his new home, trying you best to make things like his natural habitat. And lastly and probably the most important thing, would be to find the type of food the like best!" he chuckled waving to the little Dex Clabbert!

Alexandrie raised her hand hesistantly, "Well I would make sure he would have plenty of things to climb on and to remind him of his home, I would make sure he got plenty to eat, alive small lizards like he eats. I would also make sure he got plenty of attention as well." Alex wasn't really sure what kind of things Dexter..or any Clabbert liked to be honest.

"And what type of food do you think that would be?" she asked, pleased with his answer. "You're definitely on the right track. Think of what you've heard about the Clabbert here in class."

"Exactly right!" she exclaimed. "Very good! You guys have been paying attention," she added with a smile.

Brody heard Professor Lawson asking Chris another question, relating to food, and Brody decided she was too cool, so she could offer an answer for that. "Maybe like they'd like fruit...cause like aren't they a cross between a monkey...and monkeys like fruit."

Like she had been doing for the whole lesson, Ella raised her hand confidently, but for her, this question was a little more difficult. "Well I would keep him out of danger of course, because Clabberts are very aware of danger around them." Errrm, what to Clabberts eat? "And I guess I would feed him little critters or tiny bugs." She shrugged. They did have rather sharp teeth, but it was just a guess really.

"But considering they also have froglike aspects, what about, Insects, grubs or even algae?" He added to the older Hufflepuff's answer, smiling at the girl, to show he was not cutting her off or being rude.

Oooh. "I would cuddle hiimm," Gold said, waving a hand in the air. Too much sugar, maybe? Hehehe. "Babeh creatures like to be cuddled, don't they? AND I would give him a big place of his own, full of trees that make for awesome climbs. Teach him to stay away from insects, and eat nice stuff. Or, if that isn't possible, give him a diet of insects and banana-flavoured cookies. Or peanuts. Nuts in general." Because nuts taste GOOD, and Dexter had sharp!sharp teeth, too. "Though I suppose a babeh clabbert's jaws aren't as well-developed as an adult clabbert's?" Soooo. "Basically, make sure he's well-fed, well-hydrated, gets both play and exercise, and knows his do-s and don't-s. What he is supposed to keep away from, and what he can play with and even chew on, if he wants to."

BABEH creatures!

Then she added, "Professor. Can I hold babeh Dexter for just a moment, pleaaaase?" Cue WIDEEE eyes. She wanted to see the red!lightiiee on Dexter's head, up close.

Yes. Too much sugar, before class. It was having its full effect, now. Gold eyed babeh Dexter. CUUUTEE.

"Clabberts are tree dwelling creatures who like to swing between branches like muggle Orangutans, so their living area should have at least one tree they can play in. The clabbert generally eats birds and small lizards. I would continue him on his normal diet. Too much of a variation would probably upset him. Of course an ample supply of water is a necessity."

Noir raised her hand "I would keep the Clabbert away from dangers as far as I could because the Clabbert can sense if they in a danger..I would make sure that the Clabbert is comfortable enough in it's new home..and the last but not least that I would make sure that the Clabbert eat well, like small lizards or birds"

Pam thought hard for awhile before she raised her hand slowly and said,"I would make sure it has enough room where it can climb and swing about. I would also take good care of it and accompany it so it would not feel neglected." She hoped she was right, she wasn't really sure about her answer though.

"Not exactly, Brody. Keep reading. Clabberts diets are mentioned in your textbook."
"Very good," she said. "Though the idea is that a clabbert can keep you out of danger, my dear. Not the other way around," she added, giving the girl a wide smile.
"Wonderful answer, thank you. I'm sure Miss Summers appreciates the elaboration."
Wow! That was a mouthful. "All very good suggestions, Gold," she answered. As if to prove that cuddling was key, Dexter wrapped both arms around Ili's neck again.

Nodding her head, she reached up and pulled out of Dexter's grip. "Gold wants to say hi," she said, carrying him over and handing him down to her. "He's a tad clingy," she explained.
"That was a very well thought out answer, young lady," the professor replied with a smile.
"Very good," she said.
"Absolutely right," she exclaimed.

"All very good answers, class. It seems most of you have the basic idea. Are we ready to go inside the nursery?" she asked, swinging her arms behind her.

"Now when we go inside, there will be lots to see. Most of these creatures are very young. Practically newborn," she explained. "Keep your voices low and your hands to yourselves. There will be an opportunity to touch but only after you've been assigned your creature baby," she added. "Any questions before we go in?"

Oh. Well her answer was okay seeing as she had such a limited knowledge of Clabberts. Meh. She smiled back at the professor then kept her mouth shut.

Squee. Assigned creature babys! This was getting all a little too exciting for Ella. Care of Magical Creatures was an awesome lesson. She glanced around at everyone else as they were asked for any questions. She didn't have any. She just wanted to go inside the nursery.

OMG!

Destiny was excited! Not only was she going to see all the BABIES, she was going to be able to touch them, too! She let out a small gasp as Professor Female Lawson said they were going to be assigned a creature. Does that mean.. "Professssssor! We can NAME them?"

Oh yes. Destiny had a name picked out already!

Having been staring at the clabbert for most of the time, still deciding whether it was cute or not, Evelyn finally came back to reality when the Professor made some kind of flailing motion with her arms. Hmm?

Oh, they were going inside. Now, baby animals she could handle. Actual human babies though... not so much.

And they were going to be assigned a creature? Either she suddenly forgot a piece of information from earlier in the class, or she started to pay attention again at JUST the right moment! And Destiny had a very good question. She wanted to name one tooooo!

"'Course you get to name them, my dear," she said. "That's part of the fun."

Selena was happy. yay! Naming baby animals, holding them. She liked baby animals. Baby dragons. She wondered if they were ever going to be able to hold a baby dragon in class. She hoped so!

Nop, no question at all...I want to see the lovely, tiny and cutie things ..yessssssssss I'm melting of tenderness....pleasssssssssssse give me puppies, babies, cuties, little mama's mashmellows awwwwwwwww I LOVE THEM ALL!

Squeee, Vashti was so excited! Baby animals! And she'd get to name it! And take care of it! And love it! And it would be so, SO cute! Squeee! She couldn't wait to go into the nursery and see all the little baby critters! She had no questions, she just wanted to go in.

Assigned a baby creature?!

Ivory could barely contain her excitement and had to clasp her hands just to be sure they would keep to themselves. Merlin knew if she didn't she would probably be all over the place touching everything. Or maybe hovering her hand over everything and saying 'But i'm not touching it' to justify her actions.

Either way she was lightly shifting her weight from foot to foot as she waited for the instructions to go in. Sure at her grandfather's sanctuary there'd been many animals but most of them were sick ones, and old ones, and well adult ones. This here...well there were babies involved! And seriously who could pass up babies.

So it was with a huge smile and clasped hands that Ivory waited patiently for the next instructions.

Keeley practically squeed with excitement. They could go see more magical adorableness! She picked at the scar across her cheek excitedly, praying that she would get to hold or name one before the end of class. This had to be the absolute best Care of Magical Creatures lesson ever! Teehee... the inner girlie girl seemed to be poking out it's head today.

Alexandrie glanced around not sure if she was comfortable with the thought of being around so many creatures. Alex raised her hand she just wanted to know one thing, "Are any of them dangerous other then the Crup?" She knew they probably had a few muggleborn students around in class.

Baby creatures! Carter was excited. Even though he was a guy, he couldn't deny how cute baby things were. And he was going to take care of his very own! It would be just like back home with his little sister... except the creature might spit fire or something. And Anya couldn't do that.

He shook his head no. He had no questions. He was just excited to see all the fun creatures.

"Thank you, professor," Gold said cheerfully, as she reached out to take Babeh!Dexter from Professor Lawson. "Oh, that's alright. He can cling to me, if he wants." She gathered Dexter in her arms, in a way that suggested the babeh!creature might have been made of glass, but ensured that she did not drop him, or anything.

But, of course, that wasn't actually possible. Because babeh!Dexter proceeded to attach himself to her, by clinging round her neck. Gold chuckled, and somewhat petted it. How adorableee.

PRETTYY BABEH!

OOH. Wait. Gold raised a hand. "Professor, are we expected to take care of the creature we are assigned, the whole term?" she asked. "Or -" Because she guessed people would be allowed to back out -- "Can we, if we would like to help out?" It would not have taken a genius to tell that she liked the idea. Her own BABEH! creature. How awesome was that? Though, of course, ittt would grow older, as the term progressed.
