Care of Magical Creatures! Definatly her favorite class. And they were studying baby creatures. Awww! Adorable times ten. And the kneazle that was sitting by the professor was extremely cute. Nikki raised her hand in the air and said, "Well Kneazles are really intelligent and independent. They can be aggressive sometimes."

Magical Creatures Nursery!?!

How was it she did know about it. She so needed to visit it and like soon! Baby creatures always made her smile.

Raising her hand, she smiled. Most of her classmates had already answered but she wanted to add her answer as well. "Even though kneazles are magical creature they are similar to a cat in appearance. They have spotted, speckled or flecked fur, large ears and a lightly plumed tail, kind of like a lion."

Marie sat there next to Carter, behind Destiny (who she still couldn't get more than six feet away from thanks to Mean Man Lawson) listening to the professor talk about opening the nursery and students caring for baby animals. Hmm, was this going to be something they had to do or would it be by choice? She wasn't really sure if she would want to be responsible for one of the little creatures.

Thinking back to that potions class when she had been turned into part kneazle, she raised her hand, "Professor, kneazles can be occasionally aggressive, yet they can make a great pet if they like you." Yeah, she knew all too well about being aggressive, she herself had been like that when she was part kneazle.

Diggy raised his hand, "Well Professor kneazles can interbreed with normal cats," He wasn't too sure he would say mate without giggling so he went with the other word. "Then they can have like 8 babies at a time," he told her proudly. Stark was half-kneazle and Dillon had been reading up on them.

Dianna raised her hand
"Uhm..They are similar to a cat in appearance, they have a lightly plummed tail like a lion.. Oh, and they make excellent pets or magical familiars.." Care of Magical Creatures was not her best subject but she hope that her answer was at least right in some way.

"I'm good. Glad to be here." She beamed, swinging her legs as she let her eyes wonder from Lady Lawson to the creature in her lap.

When the professor began to speak she listened, beaming with excitement. New births? That meant more creatures for her to play with! Arya was excited by the thought. So excited that by the time she realized a question had been asked, all the anwsers had been given. So the little puff just sat queitly swinging her legs.

The question asked could have been answered numerous ways. For one, she was tired of dragging around dead weight, and two, she had a headache from hearing Marie complain about the rope around thier wrist. Perhaps if the girl didn't have a wrist, there would be less complaining.

But then Destiny would have to hear her friend complain about not having a wrist. Male Lawson was sooo going to get it, he was. "I am fine!" she answered with a nod of her head.

Maybe there was a way for Professor Female Lawson to undo this CURSE. Her husband did it after all.



As class was starting, Destiny took a seat next to Evelyn. Yeah, Carter was sitting behind them and no doubt Marie would be too.

She listened about the Magical Creature Nursery and she couldn't help but smile. For some really odd reason, she wanted to do it. Taking care of BABY animals! What could be dangerous or scary about that!? Hehe, of course if Destiny did this, it would mean Marie would have to do it too, and Evelyn, well, Destiny would think of a way for her to do it.

She didn't even notice the BABY Kneazle the Professor was holding until it was pointed out. Destiny sat up in her seat a little to get a closer look and let out a little 'aww'. It was sooo LITTLE and CUTE! Seeing..whatever that Kneazles name was..made her miss her cat being a baby. *sigh* Oh well. Evelyn had a kitten now. And that kneazle kitten.. Destiny raised her hand, "They MEOW!"

Well, they did!



Destiny WAS right.

And so was Male Lawson for that matter.

He had said Marie would pick Carter over her friends and this proved it. There was plenty of room for all four of them to sit together on the bench. HMPH, Well, if Marie wanted to choose Carter..

Destiny gave a tug on the rope.

Pam thought for awhile before raising up her hand, "Kneazles have an occasionally aggressive nature but if domesticated, they make good pets." She wasn't really sure but nevertheless, she had wanted to try.

Having greeted Professor Lawson with a cheerful "Good day, Professor," Gold had taken a quiet seat, textbook propped in front of her. That had been a little while ago. Now she skimmed through it, with no particular aim, as more students arrived and the place filled up.

Class should begin pretty soon.

It did, of course.


"They're cute and furry, and their equivalent in the magical world is the cat, ma'am," she answered, hand in the air. "They generally have up to eight kittens, in a litter," she added, deciding not to repeat what everyone else had said, but to offer something to new. "- and a license is a requirement for the legal ownership of one."

"There have been a few famous kneazles in history," she added, as an afterthought. "Part-kneazle Crookshanks, for one."

Kitties = LOVE.

Professor Lawson was very pleased to see several hands go up at once.
"Yes, Ellie. That is correct. Thank you."
"Good answer, Miss Malfoy," she said happily. "Though I think you meant interbreeding. Very good."
"Right you are, Miranda. And thank you for the definition for XXX creatures."
"That is true, Evelyn. And one of the greatest benefits from raising them as babies is that you're able to create a bond with your creature at a very young, very impressionable age. Great job!"
"Good, Simon," she said, delighted that she had remember his name. "Not only can they interbred, but it is highly recommended if you wish to keep a kneazle as a pet. Especially in a house with small children."
"VERY good answer. Thank you."
Iliana laughed quietly. "I swear it's the feline in them that makes them so. I had a domestic cat when I was little and she acted just the same way."

Hearing the boy's comment, the professor's eyes immediately shot over to a few of her favorite students. Heehee.

"That's correct," she replied. "Though unfortunately, I don't think we'll have time to test your theory in class."
"Correct again," she said.
At the mention of fur, Iliana absentmindedly stroked the little kitty's back. "Very good, Mina. In fact, it's the distinctive tail that makes it so easy for me to tell them apart."
"Yes, Marie. That's correct."
"That is the typical litter size of the kneazle, yes. Very good."

"Great answer, thank you."
Iliana eyed Destiny suspiciously. She didn't buy the 'I'm fine' answer. She had a terrible feeling that if she sat Samara down right then, she wouldn't buy it either. Something was up. "If you'd like to stay after class to talk let me know."

And then came her answer. HA! "Yes, dear. They meow!" The professor had to fight back the urge to ask her if she'd brought her 'goggles' to class.
"Correct."
"Very good, Gold. And thanks for mentioning the special license requirement."

"Great answers, all of you," she said. "Now from what you've all learned so far, tell me what type of care a baby kneazle would need. For example, what could we feed her? Where would she sleep? And how would you exercise her during the day to keep her happy?"

Mina thought for a second before her hand went up. "Since they are very similar to cats, couldn't we feed her milk and have her play with yarn?" She had a feeling their appearance wasn't the only thing that the two shared. They would care for a baby kneazle just like that would care for a kitten, right?

Jacob thought about it then raised his hand and said. "Well since their like cats, they should eat cat food. They might need the same nutrients in cat food that regular cats needs." unless they were similar to cats on the outside but were completely diffrent otherwise. "Like fish and stuff." cats liked fish right?... oh well he was more of a dog person anyways.

Gold raised her hand, again. "Professor, I believe their diet is similar to a cat's. They're definitely attracted to mice, birds and insects -" and eat them. "- but I think milk is the best food choice, because babeh kneazles can't actually hunt down and eat the other stuff."

Not big, bad mice and big, not-so-bad birds, at any rate.

"Baby kneazles love to sleep in the sun! Places where they can stretchhh, and look all cute. Except, I don't think they know they look all cute. They also like cozy spots, such as baskets, your bed or a spot under your blanket when you have no idea and, sometimes annoyingly, kitchen sinks."

"I don't know any proper exercises, professor, but I do know that kneazles can be playful, and like play for exercise, when they're in a good mood. This is all the more prominent in baby kneazles, who tend to be a lot more playful than grown-up ones. They like scratching posts, and are particularly attracted to items that move, such as strings, and will leap at them the moment they see them. That would be a form of exercise, no? Fluffy, interactive toys can get baby kneazles to stretch, too. Basically, babeh kneazles love to play, and it keeps them cheerful and in a good mood."

Babeh kneazles = Even MORE love.

Arya raised her hand to anwser only a few of the questions asked. "You can let the baby kneazle sleep with you if she's not to small. If she is then you could always get her, her own little bed." She paused. "There's lots you can to to exercise, buy them a cat tree and other toys. If you bring them to the castle with you, then you could always take them out on the grounds." All things she did with Perseus.

Alexandrie thought on the question she wasn't really sure but Kneazkles were smarter versions of cats so she raised her hand, "You can feed them what a cat eats, although I think feeding a cat milk isn't excatly advisable. They can sleep pretty much anywhere as well but you can get them something like a cat basket or a pillow for them to sleep on. You can even pet the Kneazle or throw some yarn and just play with the Kneazle kitten like you would any other kitten." Alex guessed out loud her voice thoughtful, she had wanted a pet Kneazle Kitten but decided on a normal kitten.

Eeeep! Professor Lawson gave her suspicious eyes!

Destiny was surprised that she didn't know what was going on between her and Marie. Obviously Male Lawson didn't let his wife in on his EVIL doings. She nodded when the Professor told her she could stay after class to talk..and she would definitely think about it.

Destiny wasn't sure what a kneazle would eat. Evelyn's cat ate stuff, but it looked disgusting and she didn't want to know what it was. She didn't even know where her friend's kneazle slept. She did know how to keep it well exercised and happy though! She raised her hand, "If you want to keep it happy you should give it a friend to play with. Like another kneazle BABY!"

'Cause two BABY kneazles are better than one BABY kneazle.

He was a lot better in care of magical creatures than he was in potions, well he was excellent in potions its just the professor scared the pee out of him and he didn't want to answer any questions.

He raised his hand, "Well you could feed the baby a diet of milk and different varieties of fish. Sort of like a cat. Give her something to keep her claws sharp and somewhere to lay out in the sun." he said. Stark loved to walk outside and just keel over and go to sleep in a patch of sun.

Xylon raised a hand. "Baby kneazles like the sun and milk," he agreed. "I think they enjoy meat too." Meat they could actually swallow. "Fish and chicken."

"And if they're playful, the more opportunities you give them to have fun the better they'll feel, right?"

Anya raised her hand rather uncertainly. "Umm...could we feed her fish and...milk? Since they're similar to cats? I think they would like sleeping in a soft comfortable place, maybe with a lot of blankets or pillows or something fluffy." she said.

"Kneazles are very similar to regular cats so wouldn't they be treated similar to a kitten. You would give milk to them for food, and make sure they have lots of attention" said Hermione.

Professor Lawson listened intently to each student's answer. It seemed like everyone was on the same page.

"Great answers, class. The baby kneazle would be cared for just like a kitten."

Of course... she gave them the easy one first.

"Alright then, would someone like to hold Samara for the rest of the class?"

OOC: First to raise their hand (and ask nicely) get to hold the kneazle.

Mina raised her hand quickly. "Professor, can I please hold Samara?"

OOOh! OOOH! Keeley wanted the kneazle! The pale girl practically jumped off of the bench. "OOh! May I please hold her, Professor?" Yess.... she was indeed a complete loon when it came to that adorable little creature. She was probably scaring the professor at the moment.

Arya raised her hand HIGH. "I wann hold her, please!"

OOH.

"Can I pretty please, professor?" Gold asked, one hand shooting up. Then she lowered it, and pouted. SOOO many people had beaten her to it.

Oh, well.
