How on Earth Preston Kingsley found this random and abandoned classroom on the ground floor was beyond Fina's abilities? Shaking her head, she used her wand to gain access into the room and unlock it so others on the decorations committee could enter.

One quick glance around though was enough proof that Kingsley at least had decent taste. Of course; he wouldn't have placed in charge of supervising the decorations committee with her without it. Surprisingly, but pleasing no less.

Speaking of Kingsley, where was he? The meeting was to start soonish and he was nowhere to be found. Granted they had fifteen or so kids to wait for . . . which meant she should start moving stuff around. A quick flick of her wand had all the desks shoved neatly against the walls and another flick had seventeen mats in a circular, spaced adequately, on the floor. Nothing like having a decorations committee meeting with a bit of decor in the seating arrangement. Heh.

As Patroclus strolled into Classroom 11, his mind was buzzing with various idea's to suggest for the decor, for the Alumni Ball. Not only was he excited to be on the committee for the Ball, he was excited the Ball was happening, he had never attend a School Event that was too be on such a grand scale.

Walking in he was pleased to see Professor Hadley already in the room, and spotting the chic green floormats, he was certain, the committee was in good hands, "Hello Professor, first ones to arrive are we?"

Brody Summers had Style, and therefore she knew that she would be able to inject some style into the decorations for this alumni ball. Hehe. So in general she was rather glad that she was on the decorations team, cause it generally meant that she could inject some style here.
The blonde wandered into classroom 11, and blinked. There was like nobody here minus the Arithmancy teacher and that guy from the Abraxan stables. Well...that made her look rater nerdy."Hello Professor." She smiled, walking a little further into the room. Well this would get her some brownie points right...hehe.

Then she glanced at the arrangment of the room. They had to sit on the floor....okay. she wouldn't question that, because she was nice like that.

Preston Kingsley thought himself an arbiter of good taste. So, naturally he thought he should help run the Decorations Committee, lest it turn into tacky free-for-all.

Entering the classroom, he was pleased to see Professor Hadley there and a trickle of students as well. Spying the cushions, he raised an eyebrow, making a mental note that under no circumstances would the decor for the Ball involve sitting on those sorts of things. Hmph.

With a tight smile, he stood to greet students as they arrived.

Incoming, first two committee members.

"Hello, hello! Glad you both made it here," Professor Hadley said, noting recognition of the blond, but the first one . . the boy? She wasn't exactly sure of. He likely wasn't a fan of numbers, which would be why she didn't recognize him. Or he was waiting until he was just a bit older before studying Arithmancy. "Please feel free to take a seat on one of the cushions while we wait for the others."

Uh . . . Long face much, Preston? Judging from his appearance though, Josephina Hadley gathered that the floor cushions were probably a bit too much.

At least they were comfortable and besides, chairs and desks would have reminded her of a class. As this was not a class, but supposed to be fun and informal, she thought the cushions were a nice touch. Casting a quick smile his way - in hopes to get him to maybe loosen up and relax - she then turned back toward the door to greet more students.

Arya too excited about the ball, and even more excited to be helping out with the decorations. All arts and craftiness was something she just loved to do. Skipping into the classroom with her purple pygmy puff in her hands, she smiled at all the other faces in the room. She hadn't realized she was early until she walked in a saw only a two other students and professors. She glanced at the students who's names she did not know, "Hey guys." and then the professors, "Hello, professors."

Picking a nice comfy floor cushions, she ploped down on it, crossed her legs and waited for more students to arrive while stroking her pygmy puff. Where was her best friend?

Ivory was almost on the verge of running but not quite when she made her way into Classroom Eleven. Was she excited? Why yes very much so!

Decorations involved doing stuff with your hands and color coordinating and making rooms look nice and stuff. That was the best part about planning parties. At least, she thought so. Everything else like food and invitation and music usually worked itself out but decorations... They made the whole party.

Spying her best friend plopped down on a cushion, Ivory giggled, waved, and launched herself at the one nearest Arya.

"Heya bestie!" she called brightly right before she spotted the professors. "Hello!"

Alexandrie entered the classroom glancing around. "Hi Professors Sorry if i'm late." Alex greeted smiling sheepishly. She had just realised what time it was and had rushed down as fast as she could. She stood around getting out of the doorway.

Mina rushed to into the classroom. How she had managed to lost track of time was beyond her. She wasn't usually late for anything and really bothered her she was running late to this.

Looking around she noticed she wasn't the only one that appeared to be running behind. There were only a few more people there. Seeing the professors, she nodded politely. "Professor Hadley. Professor Kingsley."

Spotting Patroclus, she smiled and made her way over. Nudging him as she sat beside him. "Hey stranger."

Preston greeted each student as they entered. "Excellent, well, take a.." he hesitated, eying the cushions again. "seat if you haven't already and we'll get started."

Leaning against the wall, Preston smiled. "Thank you all for signing up for the Decorations Committee. Lots of things are up to you. Professor Hadley and I are here to help, but you get to decide what needs to be accomplished and how. Do you want table decorations? Hanging decorations? Other committees are handling food, music and invitations, but the look of the Ball is up to you."

Crossing his arms, he looked to the group. "So, why don't we talk about what it is you think we should have; bounce ideas off each other. And once we have a list, we can figure out who will work on what."

Alexandrie sat down as the Professor instructed listening to him talk about how important Decoration Committee was. She realised it was pretty much up to them to make this ball look good with colors and everything. Alex glanced around at the other people waiting for someone older to start.

Nodding at her colleague as he started off the meeting, she glanced around at each of their faces. It seemed there was still quite a few missing, given she was informed there would be about fifteen on the committee. Perhaps they got caught up with something she decided. At least this wasn't a class, so tardiness wasn't of TOP priority.

Josephina noted a familiar face of a young Slytherin girl. Not hesitant at all to speak out in a lesson, but when it came to starting off the discussion, NOW she was quiet?!

"Ms Malfoy-Lupin, don't be shy," Fina encouraged. "If you have something to offer or suggest, say it."

Sighing, and with a guilty expression, Evelyn squeezed herself through the barely open door, hoping not to attract too much attention for her late arrival. Eep! She had almost forgotten about this.

Flinching, she moved towards the back before sitting down quietly and staring at everything and everywhere, except the professors. Yup, professors. She noticed two of them, but didn't look long enough to see who they were. However, she did have to look up when it seemed that discussion was up and ready. "Does the Ball have a theme to it already? With colors and such? Or is that up to us?" she asked while taking out her notebook and pencil, having grown fond of the muggle tool over the past few weeks.

As a voice appeared besid him Patroclus was pleased to see Mina, filling the empty spot next to him, “Back at Ya” he smiled.

As the committee discuss became under way Patroclus was ready to put forth his ideas, one of which were voiced by Evelyn, - a pre-existing theme. “Yeah, and if we get to decided on our own theme, are we able to converse with the food committee, to try and get them involved with the theme too?” Patroclus had a great theme in mind and was ready to put it forward but need to tick all the boxes first.

Hearing another voice speak up, Evelyn looked over to see who it was, and smirked when she spotted Patroclus. But, alas...there was no Josh. "Might as well converse with the music and invitations committees as well if we will be doing that." It was one thing to have decorations and theme of food matching, but it would be pretty random to receive a bright and happy invitation when the actual Ball itself was something like a masquerade of something. And the music too. Who would play rock at a masquerade Ball?

Sighing, she opened her notebook, writing Decorations at the top before looking around. Or at least towards Patroclus one more time before looking towards the Professors.

Laughing at his own stupidity Patroclus commented on Evelyn's remark "I never thought of that. Idiot." With a cheeky smile, he knocked on his head, like one would knock on a door, just to check it wasn't hollow.... his brain was still there...lucky.
Blushing slightly he looked down to his parchment, a smile on his face.

"I think if we theme the ball it would be a good idea." Brody nodded with a smile, because that would be cool. "But...we could loosely base it around the houses....because some of the students who have left might miss there houses, so by theming it around the houses, it might allow them to remember there times at hogwarts." And she knew that she would like that, so surely some other of the ex-students would like it. Hehe. She glanced around smiling. She liked that idea.

Glancing back over to Patroclus, the smirk appeared on her face once more before speaking. "You're a guy. Aren't you aloud to only be thinking of food or something?" she said before drawing a circle in the upper corner of her notebook. That...was where the dragon head was going to be. hehe.

Continuing with her drawing, the Slytherin kept her ears open for any other suggestions or actually talking... and here was somebody! Loosely base it around the houses? That was interesting and certainly not something she would have thought of.

It was a good idea though. How would they do that though? Just use colors of the four houses? Or something else... Writing down the word 'Houses' and underlining it, Evelyn looked around once more, before her attention was diverted by the cushions. Where these here last year?

“Hey, I can think of other things, at the same time as thinking of food.” Patroclus called to Evelyn. It was true he thought of food a lot, but he was on the Decoration committee after all, so he must be good at multi-thinking.
He like the inclusion of the house colours, and thought it could be included nicely into his idea, which he was about to put forward.
“I was thinking what about an Arabian Nights theme, a mixture of the wonder of Moroco, with the exotica of the Middle East.” His eye's absentmindedly glanced at Evelyn, “I was talking to someone recently about travel and I was inspired by that idea. We can have pillows on the floor, fire dancers, and fabric hanging from the ceiling.” He had an amazing vision in his head, and Patroclus hoped he was doing it justice.

Preston began by answering the questions posed.

"No, not yet, except that it should be a Ball and not, say, a costume party or something with themed-attire. Colors, decorations, seating plans, all up to you." Preston suppressed a shudder at the thought of a beach theme with students and alumni showing up in their swimwear.

"We can certainly let the committees know what has been decided, but there may not be time to actually meet together. And since the committees are independent, they don't have to 'match' our theme."

"The invitations committee has already met and is doing an invitation around the Houses, from what I understand. But that doesn't preclude us from any decisions about how things look when they get here."

"Good," Preston turned to the board at the front of the room, charming it to record the ideas.

Houses

"Good, though fire dancers may fall under music/entertainment." Preston wondered briefly if fire was to be a theme for the year. "Others? Themes can be abstract, too. Like, the seasons. Or the elements. Fire and Ice. Things of that sort."

The board now read:

Alex thought on what colors from each houses looked good together. "Well what if we instead of taking both colors from each house and just decide on a color from each house to use? Like say Black from Hufflepuff, Blue from Ravenclaws, Red from Gryffindors, and Green or Silver from Slytherins. That way certain colors don't clash together." Alex offered up, she couldn't stand the thought of putting together colors that would just end up clashing no matter what way you would put them together.

Iris walked into the abandoned classroom slowly, to see that most of the people seemed to be here already. "Uh... Sorry I'm a little late, professor. I'm not ... that late, am I? " She looked around the people who were already there. No one she new very well. From what she could tell, they were talking about themes. Theeeeeemes. Hmmmm.

They should do something that reflected what was awesome about Hogwarts.

"No no, we've just started. We're sharing theme ideas." Preston gestured to a cushion as he considered the others.

"Surely you all have more suggestions?"

Ivory thought that the idea for a theme was a wonderful one that would indeed help correlate other aspects of the ball to flow together.

Thinking back to the Charms class that they'd just attended, she raised her hand timidly."Maybe an underwater theme?....or maybe a nature theme or indoor garden like? Something unique from the usual classic traditional themes...?" She ended on a question as she wondered if they could imagine it the way she could.

Colorful decorations and equally colorfully dressed people rather than the usual black and white.

In her mind's eye she saw the Great Hall's ceiling enchanted to look like someone looking up through water. With maybe a floor charmed to match an ocean bottom. Corral looking tables. Not the tacky beach scene that most teens preferred and ridiculously wore clam shirts and grassy skirts but a classy water themed ball with fountains and flowing curtains draped from the ceiling and maybe enchanted bubbles floating in the air.

On the other hand for the garden/nature theme she could easily see plants everywhere.

Alex thought about it, "That sounds like a good idea, maybe something like the night sky as that has Black, Silver, and blue together so that'll leave a Gryffindor color for the tables." Alex voiced out loud.
