My first-ever try at making graphics Keefer finally decided on what to do. A Huffie crest on the left, text on the right, and some assorted Quidditch gear sprinkled throughout. He first painted the field a bright Hufflepuff yellow. Then came the words: Huffies for the Cup! He would've used the full name of his House, but he would've run out of room. After adding some decorative shadows underneath the words, he set to work on the House crest. Fortunately, Keefer had quite the artistic flair when he wanted to use it. With meticulous care, he outlined the badger and his banner. Then he worked on the actual crest and its field. After what seemed like five hours but was actually much less, he finished and moved on to the Quidditch equipment. I think a Golden Snitch definitely. Maybe a Quaffle, that should be easy. Aaaand... the Quidditch Cup! Then all I have to do is perform the charm! Tapping the yellow field, he said "Colorus fulgeo yellow to lime green!" and made circles with his wand, first to the right and then to the left. And suddenly the background began to flash between lime green and yelow. "Cooleo!" He admired his handiwork, certain that it would help Hufflepuff on to victory. Quote:

He really did not want to get up. ... :head: Was he a wizard or was he not? Was he good at charms or was he not? Geez. He really was dim sometimes. He could just summon the paper over. But he was still going to give her a hard time. Pft. Jimbo was very egotistical. But with this he had reason. He was very good at charms and he wasn't bluffing. But she was challenging him. Well, alright. Jimbo Farley never turns down a challenge. He smirked at her and lifted his wand to the page he had been working on before, which was flashing between yellow and pink. He made it stop flashing and cleared his throat for dramatic effect. "Colorus Fulgeo, Yellow to Pink to Green to PURPLE." HA!!! HE WAS ADDING A FOURTH COLOUR!! HAHA!!! But it didn't work. And he didn't expect it to. It was only his first try, after all. Then another try and he managed to get the third colour. "How many times was that Monty? What was that? Two? And how many times did you do it? What? Three? So, you're telling me that it took me one less try and I got it on my SECOND try? Wow, so who wins? I do. Yes. Yes, I do." Honestly, he was surprised himself that he'd gotten it on the second try. It was probably because he had already mastered the Yellow to Pink. He made sure Monty wasn't looking as he made the page stop flashing and tried the three colour change again. And he didn't get it. It was a fluke. He glanced over at Monty and confirmed that she HADN'T noticed. Well. He was going to let her think that he really had mastered it. Muaha. He tried the four colour change three more times before he got it. He bet Monty couldn't do THAT. |
Destiny hehe Mwaha! So that was their assignment? After listening to the instructions, Evelyn smirked before continuing to blow on the paint. DRYYYYYY! Dangit. It wasn't drying fast enough... "I command you...to DRY!" *bloooow blow* After a few more moments however, she had to stop and take a rest. Eesh, who knew blowing on paper could make you feel dizzy. Glancing over once at Destiny, her hazel eyes trailed around the room to see where everyone was. Josh, Destiny, Goooold, peoples...Patroclus... Eh, well a lot of people. "Destiny. Do you know how to make paint dry faster?" Hmmm? |

Now it looked like Kay! "Evelyn," she started, and placed the paintbrush down before continuing, "Everyone knows Huffies don't have friends!" Bahahahaha!! Her picture would be all wrong if she drew Kay with a friend. Quote:
Face it. Slytherin is the best house, and everyone is jealous. They have every right to be, too! She folded her hands on top of the table and just staaaaared at the painting. She was patient, verrrrrry patient. Evelyn, on the other hand, not so much. Glancing at her friend, she snickered at her attempt to blow the painting dry, "A watched cauldron never boils, have you heard that before? Well, the same thing with a painting! You need patience!" Besides, when you blow on the paint, it'll just all move around and muss up your ARTWORK..especially if you used a whole lot of paint.. ..like Destiny did. "Buuuuut, if you REALLY want the painting to dry, I suggest you open a window and wave it around outside. That seems to work." |

SPOILER!!: Desiny buddy Bahaha! Destiny was so right! Hufflepuffs and no friends... *snicker* Well except Kylie. She was the only exception to that matter. "Then draw us next to it. If Hufflepuffs have no friends, then they surely have enemies." Yush. Smiling, she continued to blow on the wet paint to make it dry after taking that little break to get her breath back. That is, until Destiny spoke up again. O__O No, she had NOT heard that saying before. Mostly because she hadn't been staring at a cauldron until it boiled. Oh wait, yes she had. And it felt as if it took twice as long too. "Patience..." she grumbled, sighing as she leaned back in her seat and crossed her arms, staaaarrring at the three sky blue dots on her paper. Mmhmm, there was one problem with that last piece of advice Destiny gave her. "I don't see any windows." she whispered, raising a brow and glancing at all the windowless walls. They should create some... |

"I am a December baby too Professor! The 15th exactly ten days before Christmas!" That meant he was a Sagittarius, and that was a possible reason for his interest in centuars! Looking at his page he thought he had best get on with the Banner Assignment, however Patroclus had no idea which team to do. He loved Qudditch, but was unsure of his favourite international team, and with the school teams, he was a proud lion, but thought there would already be heaps of those Banners, and Patroclus liked to be unique. "Professor does it have to be a Qudditch Banner, or could it be a banner for something else....perhaps a December Banner??" The yound Lion's mind was realing with possiblities, but he had to get the Professors Approval first! |

"Thank you, Professor," she said, politely. Text Cut: Flasheh!Banner Project <3 Gold had dabbed her brush in green paint, made a circle with it at the top left of the paper and, in the process, accidentally dribbled green paint down her PINK! apron. Which obviously did not shock her, because she had expected to make a mess sooner or later. But now, she had an idea! Setting the brush down on the paper, Gold dried the paint on her apron with the help of her wand, then used it - the wand, not the paint or apron - to tap the blotch of paint. Tap, point, circle, circle. Colorus Fulgeo Green to Red. Viola! The green paint flashed red! Hehe. Now that she had practiced on the paper [and, in the process, on her apron], Gold decided it was finally time to move on to the Banner Project. But first, she was going to figure out how she could possibly use the Paint-Flashing Charm to get a light red colour to flash a brighter red. She knew she could alter the incantation of the spell to acquire the latter shade, but what of the first? She only had one kind of red on ze palette she had. Gold wanted to know how she could she make it lighter. Clueless. She was soooo clueless about painting. Oh, well. |
Let's pretend Nia did the practicing bit... Nia looked at the paper in front of her. Banner. She needed to think of a banner design. She knew immediately who the banner was going to support, obviously the Ravvies for their upcoming match. But since she was Captain and would be playing and all, she would ask someone else who hadn't got a banner if they'd like to wave it around and cheer and that - if her banner looked good, that was. Because extra support was awesome. She pull her pencil from behind her ear, and started to sketch 'Ravenclaw' written in big capital letters at the bottom of the page. Around that, she added some confetti for prettyness. She had an idea what she wanted to put at the top of the page, but it would be HARD to draw. So that could wait for now, since for the lesson the flashing paint was the most important bit. So, now for said paint. For this bit, there was only one colour that she would use as the starting colour. Blue. A darkish shade. Navy really. She started to block in the 'Ravenclaw', trying to have a steady hand to keep the strokes smooth. It'd been a longgggg time since she'd painted neatly. Sure, she'd helped paint her room at home over the summer, but that was different, right? This was more fiddly, and then you had to be careful not to put your arm in the wet paint. Though Nia had thought ahead slightly, and had started from the W since she was left handed. Still awkward to avoid wet paint on arm though. |
Gold! They got to paint? Sweet! Xylon already knew the charm but he practiced it all the same. Because it gave him an incentive to paint. Gold to red. Red to gold. The paint flashed to show his house colours. And speaking of red and gold where was the redheaded disastrous-with-a-brush Gold? Xylon spotted her, picked up his things and sat down next to her. "Mind if I join you, Fire?" He asked, smirking slightly. Because he had already made himself at home. |

SPOILER!!: Eve-to-the-lyn Mwahaha! Evelyn was a genius, and if Destiny didn't know about her friend's space issue, she would have given her a slap on the back for coming up with such an INGENIOUS idea. Instead, she reached over to the table next to her and grabbed their bottle of green paint. They didn't need it. Pouring out two blobs of the paint, she picked up a new clean paintbrush and started twirling it around in the BLOBS. Soon, she had two Slytherins next to Kay. HAHAHAHA! "Look Evelyn, it's you!" she snickered, pointing to the one figure that had the really big feet. And before Evelyn could complain about her big feet, Destiny pointed to the next Slytherin, "Look, it's me!" The one with the really big hands. Glancing at her friend for some sort of reaction, Destiny frowned. It seemed Evelyn had not heard of that saying before. "Patience is a gooooood thing, though!" She wanted to flail her arms around as she said this, but she was holding a wet paintbrush. Not so smart. Besides, how much patience would Evelyn even need? There were only THREE blue dots on her paper!!!! Leaning in closer, she whispered back, "It's like we're in the dungeons..but we're not." Cue shifty eyes. |
Quote:
Smiling at her friend, Evelyn nodded before going back to STAAAARRRIIIING at her three paint dots. By the looks of it though, they were starting to dry. Leaning forward, slightly hopeful that they were dry enough, the Slytherin completely missed what Destiny had said about patience and instead, leaned as close to the paint dots as possible. Were they dry enough? ... No. They weren't. And now she had blue paint on the tip of her finger. NOOOO! Get it off! She didn't look good in blue! Well, she did... but not THIS blue! EEK! Looking around for somewhere to wipe it off, she realized that she was, in fact, wearing the apron. Mwaha! Whaaat? "The dungeons?" she asked in confusion, looking over at her friend as she wiped the paint onto her light green apron. How in the world was it like they were in the dungeons? There was too much color in the room... |
Shana looked down at her green piece of paper. Yeahhh, totally original, no one would've ever thought a Banner for slytherin would be green. She bit her lip and tried to think of something to write on her banner. Okays, that wasn't the most original thing to put but it was short and too the point. She waved her wand and in a few seconds her banner had " You rock!" Written on it with the !'s dotted with a love heart. She then attemted to paint a slytherin crest onto her banner Hmmm, this was gonna be harder than she thought. |
Selena had been in a daze for a while as she thought about something to make. A banner... a banner. She wondered what she should write on the banner. What colours. Obviously green and silver, Slytherin of course. Slyther-in to First place? Sounded so lame... Ugh. Couldn't think of anthing better. Would have to go with that for now. Now... what design...? Looking around, it seemed that some people had finished already. Rawrs. This is what happens when she doesn't pay attention!! |
Delilah sat in her seat with the paper and paint in front of her. She had decided that she would make a banner for the Championship game between Gryfindor and Slytherin. She thought of what the banner would look like... |
Mina smiled as she lifted the brush from her paper. There was just simple little shapes painted in dark green. It was just practice and all. She would save all the creative stuff for her banner. The simple shapes would just have to do for now. Picking up her wand, she looked at the paper and cast Colorus Fulgeo Dark Green to Dark Blue as she tapped and circled to the right and then circled to the left. Pulling her wand back, she smiled to herself. The little shapes were now flashing form green to blue. Yes, it was cute and she would definitely have to show her fteher this during the summer. The Slytherin would like that his little Ravenclaw could do that. It would be rather amusing as well. Setting her paper aside to continue to blink between the two colours and dry, she ran off to gather all the things she needed for her banner. Oh it was going to be good for sure. She wouldn't really get to wave it or anything at the next match, since she was supposed to play, but maybe she could give it to someone to take with them to the stands. SPOILER!!: Flashing Banner Project Directions ♥ Returning to her desk with all her supplies; a few sheets of the banner-sized paper, extra paint and extra brushes, she set them down and reached for her apron. It was all pretty Oxford blueish and she pulled it one. With the ideas in her head she would more than likely get pain all over herself and as much as the thought of getting her apron all dirty bothered her. It was better the apron than herself. Tying her apron tightly around herself, she rummaged through her bag for something. There was a muggle writing tool she had found in her truck and she had thrown it in her bag. Maybe it would be of some use today. Pulling out the muggle pencil, she smiled happily. No point in jumping head first into the paint without some kind of plan, right? Leaning over the banner paper, she went to work sketching just what would be on the banner itself. Maybe a snitch and a quaffle. And her house crest of course would need to be on there. Those three elements would take some effort and then she would have to think of the wording she could put on next. There was so many possibilities. Setting the pencil down, she looked at the rough sketches she had on the rather plain white banner paper. Oh no, that just wouldn't do for what she had in mind. Picking up her wand again, she cast Colorus Revolvo Oxford Blue as she gave the page a tap. Standing back, she nodded. Yes, that was a lot better for her. It was the perfect backdrop for her banner now. Picking up a smaller brush and a small painter's palette, she added some paint to the palette and started to work on the right side of the paper. The crest would be the first thing thing to as it would so take more time to get it perfect. .... Swiping a stray piece of hair out of her line of sight, she sat up and looked at her work so far. The crest was done and she had made quick work of the quaffle and the snitch. They looked rather nice, if she could say so herself. She felt she wanted to add more to it but no, she told herself. Simple was best for this banner. There was no need to go all overboard if no one would see it at the match or something. Maybe it it did turn out well, she would just have to give it to one of her housemates to take to the match. It really shouldn't go to waste if it turned out good, right? Pulling out her wand, she cast siccus aerous over her banner. She really didn't want to smudge any of her work or something. She did put a lot of work into is and smudges now wouldn't be good at all. But she just needed the banner to be a bit drier before she started on the words. Swirling her wand over the pictures, she glanced around the room. Just then a strange thought hit her, what if her banner turned out terrible and her classmates pointed and laughed at her? Blinking as her hand stopped moving, she pouted slightly. That would be rather terrible to her young psyche. Shaking the thoughts from her head, she set her wand down. She knew her banner would be good and it would turn out great, she was probably just having nerves from the the match. Picking up the small painter's palette again, she added some blue paint to it and grabbed another brush. It was time to work on the words and then she would be closer to being done. .... Finishing up on the final exclamation point, she set the brush and palette down and smiled. It looked good but there was still one more thing she had to do. The flashing needed to be added and she would be done. Picking up her wand again, she cast Colorus Fulgeo blue to bronze as she tapped the words on the banner and moved her wand in a smooth small circle to the left and then a smooth small circle to the right. Before her eyes, the flashing slowly started and she smiled. It was pretty, wasn't it? Storing her wand, she reached for a sheet of parchment and started on her paragraph as her banner continued to blink and flash between her two house colours. SPOILER!!: Mina's Parchment |

The person she had been looking for. But, the moment he sat down next to her, Gold frowned. Fire. Did he have to call her that? Sure, it was a pretty word, very Gryffindor. But Gold knew he meant nothing good by it, and never would. "You already have," she pointed out, coolly. Seriously. Why had he even bothered to ask her if he could? But, no time to dwell over all this. Because there was something she needed to ask him. "You need to tell me how to make this lighter," she told him, giving him a 'don't-you-dare-smirk-again' kind of look. Picking up the colour palette on the table in front of her, she allowed her green gaze momentarily to settle on the red paint. "It's pretty bright," she stated, matter-of-fact-ishly, well aware that she could have found more shades of paints in the boxes at the front of the classroom. But she wanted to know how those nifty artist people mix colours, and make violets and blacks and lighter reds! She was even willing to put up with Xylon's habit to smirk at her every two seconds, for that. |
The 'Ravenclaw' and confetti finally coloured in blue, Nia thought about the colour changing bit. She had thought of soemthing, but it'd be tricky to do - she'd need really good timing with the spell. She wanted the letters to flash in order. So the R would flash, then the A and so on. And to make it more complicated still, she wanted the colour sequence to go navy, bronze, navy, blue. Nothing like aiming high! Nia picked up her wand in her left hand. She was going to start with the R, and work across. She tapped the R with her wand before circling it first right, and then left. "Colorus Fulgeo Navy to Bronze to Navy to Blue," Nia said. She watched curiously as the paint started flashing. First one done. Now to the A. She wanted that to flash bronze just after the R turned from Bronze back to Navy. She got the rhythm of colours in her head. Navy. Bronze. Navy. Blue. Navy. Bronze. Navy. Blue. Navy. Bronze... Nia did the wand movements, and said the incantation. Navy. Blue. She grinned as she saw the timing between the A and R. So far, so good. The time delay had worked! Yay! Now to get the timing right for the remaining 7 letters... Hmm. |

Of course she'd let him! Lexi was never one to tell her students no when it came to them being excited about something she was teaching. "Of course you can. Have at it!" she said, giving him another smile. It'd be nice to have a banner celebrating the lovely month they were both in. Quote:

"Love it! My favorite part of the banner is the text," she said, glancing at the blue and bronze flashing words. "You can place your banner over there," she said, pointing to the area Keefer had just placed his, "then you're free to go. Enjoy your day!" |
Text Cut: Banana <3 The banner, she hadn't started on yet. "I'm about to start," Gold half-smiled. "But I hope I'll be able to make something fun." It might not turn out to be very clean, or even very artistic, but Gold would make sure it was fun. AND, speaking of fun, Professor Carlton's response to Patroclus's question was giving Gold ideas. She raised a hand, to get the Charms professor's attention, again. "Professor, does that mean we can create a banner on any topic, within reason, as long as it shows support or pride?" she asked. She could make a July banner. Or one on Easter. Even dark chocolate. IDEAS! Sooo many of them! |
Quote:
She started on her way again but stopped when Gold's hand shot into the air. She laughed lightly when she heard what Gold asked. "Sure, sure. It'll be fun to see what you think of to support," she said with a laugh. "...and if anyone else wants to do a different type of support banner, feel free to go ahead and do so," she said, speaking to the class as a whole. Because, you know, it was always nice to get excited over the little things---like chocolate, cupcakes, or even high-heeled shoes. |

Smirk at her that is. "You're joking," he said only to realize half a second after he had said that, that she wasn't. Lawrd. She had been right, she did know nothing about paints. With an amused shake of his head, Xylon mixed an amount of white and red paints in a small container. "This is how," he said, as he wiped a brush across the new shade of paint. He needed to decide what he wanted to make his own banner on. Skydiving? Mwaha. |

When Professor Carlton gave them the go ahead to start painting and such, Chris waited a few minutes and began to plan his banner first. He wasn't one to just rush into work, especially a banner made with paint, in a LESSON. He then took his plan and went to work on one of the banners. He took the paints he needed with him and began to work with the paint brushes. After while he finally had what he was going for. Pointing his wand at the banner to do the thing that the whole lesson was about. Two circles, one right then left."Colorus Fulgeo...Silver to Gold." SPOILER!!: Chris's color changing banner He then set his banner over on the side of the room that the Professor had asked them to place it. Then he took his quill and went back to a desk to start on his paragraph. Quote:
