Alex wasn't sure what to answer as she finished writting. "Well Magic helps us make a quick meal if we're running out of time or if we're too lazy to do it the muggle way." She didn't know any wizards and witches that did it the muggle way but it was still vaild.

With her wand once again stretched toward the chalkboard, Lexi added the newest suggestions to the list they'd already made. - How has magic made our lives easier?
- Summoning objects (accio)
- Cleaning/household chores/repairs
- Levitating/carrying objects
- Personal hygiene/healing
- Cooking (Lexi placed a little star next to this one)
- Light (lumos)
- Relationships (cheering others)
- Helps the visually impaired
- Long-distance travel (Apparition) and packing luggage
How has magic made cooking and being in the kitchen easier? - Peeling and cutting vegetables
- Charming utensils to do work for us
- Preparing the food
- Washing the dishes
- Fire spells (to create fire) and spells to put out fire
- Healing (choking)
- Setting the table
- Management (multi-tasking and locating objects)
"Those are excellent suggestions, and lots of them relate to what we'll be doing in class today. House points to everyone who shared a suggestion!" she said, lowering the chalk and dropping her wand to her side. With the second list done, Lexi turned back to the class. A few people had either asked a question or made a point that she wanted to address. "Go ahead and add that second list to your notes. You'll need it for homework, too." Quote:

"But magic can be used as a tool to help prepare the food" she told the proffessor. "For example your wand can be used to stir up, lets say a soup" she said using examples. "It's not creating the actual food for you but it is an aid to creating the perfect dish" she smiled. "The wand can also be used to pour out sauces and of course finish with the dirty work of cleaning out the pans afterwards" she giggled. "You're exactly right about that. Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration tells us that we can't produce food out of thin air. We can, however, move food, change food, or use other objects to help us with our food," she explained. Perhaps though magic could help her to improve these skills, but the questions was... did she want to improve them? She decided to answer the question and raised her hand. "I mean it can make it easier right?" She asked. "It can help you with like stirring or something so you can go do something else while that's going on." She hoped she was right, she knew she would look like and idiot when they started so she didn't want to sound like an idiot as well. "Magic can most definitely make our lives easier, which leads me to...those," she said, using her wand to point out a box of aprons near the front of the classroom. Walking over to the box, Lexi pulled out a plain white apron. She directed her wand towards the apron, swished it the right, then swished it in a circular motion to the left. "Colorus Revolvo Pink!" she said.
...and that explained how the professor's apron had turned that pretty pink color. "Now this lesson isn't about the Coloring Changing Charm, but if you'd like, you may use it to change your white apron to the color of your choice," she said. ...and yes, she'd just said your apron, which meant she wanted the students to wear aprons for this lesson, as well. "Come on up and find an apron in your size. If you like the white color, then so be it, but you can take a few minutes to change its color, too. Come on now...you, too, boys," she added, waving her hand in the general direction of the box. "Remember to do your swishes in flicks in all the right directions, too. You'll likely end up with some atrocious, snot-colored getup otherwise," she said. Sigh...unless of course someone preferred a green and brown mixture. Eww. "Swish to the right, then swish to the left in a circular motion. The incantation is Colorus Revolvo, plus the name of the color you choose." In the meantime, you may roleplay your character getting an apron and working with the Color Changing Charm.

Santi went to get an apron as told. Now what colour should he change it to? The first that flashed into his head was a beautiful emerald green, for both his new house as well as for his love of nature. The decision had been made as quickly as the thought had occured to him. "Colorus revolvo emerald green." he said with the correct swishing motions. Oh charms, how amazing art thou.

Alex pulled out her wand and chanted, "Colorus Revolvo Silver!" while moving her wand in a swish to the right then swishing to the left in a circular motion. Her apron to her surprised actually turned Silver the first try. She nodded her head happily writting in her notes how the spell was done. She wondered if the first time was just luck as she sat back down.

Alice went over and picked out an apron then tried it to make sure it fit. Ugh even the smallest is big on me. She was a tiny girl and this always happened to her. She decided to try to change the color, she was generally good at charms. She lifted her wand and recited the incantation, "Colorus Revolovo green ." She moved her wand in the desired way and after a try or two, well three actually, she got something close to the desired color. It was slightly more dull than she had imagined but considering her previous attempts in charms this was progress.

Selena looked at the apron. Selena swished her wand to the right then to the left in a circular motion like describe. "Colorus Revolvo dark green" Selena said as the apron changed from white to dark green. One of her favorite colours. She smiled and put on the apron. Selena then proceeded in copying down the notes dutifully. |

| Jack went over and picked an apron that fit him. He decided to change the colour so he took out his wand and said, "Colorus Revolovo green", while doing the correct wand movements, and to his surprise it changed colour the first time. He went back to his seat and waited for the next instructions.

Okay, so really she hadn't been really paying attention up until the color changing charm was mentioned. There was another one that she didn't know about? Cringing at the pink, again, Evelyn moved and pushed got to the front to get an apron. Whiteness. So much better than pink.
But what was even better than that was green and silver. Yes, it was. Not knowing if the color changing charm that the Professor spoke of did two colors at once, she decided she'd just use the one she herself created. Besides, her own color changing spell made cool stripes, and not just a boring solid color. Putting on the apron, and with a flick of her wand, it was now a striped dark green and silver color. Perfect!
Walking back to her bag, she took out her notebook and busied herself with writing down practically everything that went through one ear and right out the other from the beginning of the lesson. At least all the information was on the board.

OOC: I'm going to stop here (for a little while) to allow some people from other timezones to catch up. In the meantime, you may roleplay your character getting an apron and working with the Color Changing Charm. Melissa jotted down the second list which Professor Carlton had wrote down.
Now again focusing her attention of the Professor, who had a white apron in front of her, did 2 wand movements and a incantation of 'Colorus Revolvo Pink!'. Which magically turned the apron pink. Cooool. So that is how her apron got to pink.
She wanted to change her apron colour, the white looked awful. Apron so they were baking of some sort maybe, hopefully? She got up and went over to get a plain horrid white apron. A few minutes to change the colour. But she could wait a few minutes. That was alright for her.
Melissa nodded. Ew snot-coloured apron! She wouldn't dare wear one. Swish to the right, then swish to the left in a circular motion. Yeah she got that bit stuck in her head and she remembered the incantation.
Grabbing her wand and pointing it to the plain apron and did a swish to the right then a swish to the left in the circular motion before speaking. "Colorus Revolvo Purple," hmm, a nice shade of purple too. This spell was pretty useful.

| Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict Grayson grinned a little to herself as Professor Carlton said everyone who had suggested things got house points. Yay! But then her attention went to the woman as she did another charm, showing how to change the color of things. Cooooool, she thought, forgetting about her ferret in her pocket as he poked his head out. feeling the movement, she blinked, then looked down. Not good. Pulling him out, she set him inside her school bag, then closed it enough to keep him inside, but leaving an air hole so he would still be able to breathe. She didn't want her ferret interrupting class, although she wondered if she could get a tiny enough apron for him. That would be funny.
Pushing the thought to the back of her mind, she went up to get herself an apron. Picking one out, she made sure it fit, then looked at it critically. White was okay, but there were so many more awesome colors. "Colorus Revolvo Raspberry," she said, remembering to swish her wand to the right, then to the left as the professor had done. As the apron color changed, she grinned again. Now she had an apron that matched her shoes. Much better. Maybe she could keep it.

Chris added all of the things the other students said to his notes and then walked forward to get an apron. Smiling at the Professor, he took an apron that tied around his waist comfortably and then decided to leave it white. If it got dirty he could change it later.
He then stood, ready in his gear to cook!

Sapphyre sighed as they were told to change the color of their aprons if they wished. Color didn't make much of a difference to her at this point, now did it? But, nonetheless, she, after grabbing one, pointed her wand at her stomach, where she knew the apron to be once she secured it on herself, and chanted, "Colorus Revolo Green." If she was a Slytherin, it might as well be apparent, right? And it would be nice if others could see her apron match the green of her tie...

Now THEEERRREE was something that Cedes enjoyed. Finally. She liked food a looottttt. Oh yes she did. Already, she could tell that she would like this professor. Grinning cheerfully, she stepped up towards the aprons and picked one out for herself. Cedes slipped it on and tied it around her back. She was perfect! Nowww... a change of color. Taking note of what the professor had did when performing, Cedes pointed her wand at her apron and moved it in a circular motion as she said the incantation, "Colorus Revolvo Blue!"

Destiny didn't think to charm a spoon into doing all the stirring. That would have saved them a lot of energy last term when her and Evelyn had baked those cupcakes for Professor Lupa. And it would have helped in Potions, too!
Copying down the other things the Professor had written on the board, she saw the BIG box of aprons. And they were all boringly white. White was better than pink..and yellow..and blue.. Standing up, she walked over to the box, giving the Professor a HUGE smile in passing. Why she did that, she didn't know. It just felt like the thing to do..or something.
White apron in hand, she walked back to her station. Now Evelyn's apron was AWESOME and Destiny wanted hers too look like that too! She wasn't going to ask her friend to do it, for she wanted to do it herself. Setting the apron on top of the station, Destiny drew her wand and pointed, "Colorus Revolvo green and silver!"
She waited patiently as the colors started to show, and..hers did not look like Evelyn's. Her's was UGLY! The silver did not even look silver. Grumbling, she tied it on herself, not even trying to fix the colors.
Her apron was..unique.

The incantation is Colorus Revolvo, plus the name of the color you choose." OOC: I'm going to stop here (for a little while) to allow some people from other timezones to catch up. In the meantime, you may roleplay your character getting an apron and working with the Color Changing Charm. After copying the notes down, Emma smiled and picked up her apron. She pointed her wand and focused, DADA was really easy for her and she hoped charms would be too. She swished to the right and left in a circular moment, "Colorus Revolvo. Aqua!" cried Emma. The apron turned a beautiful aqua colour. She smiled, Yes I did it, even on my first time!. |

Walking up to the front of the room to get an Apron, kay took her time to look around the room. Pink? No way. She hated pink. Maybe a nice soft rose color. Taking the apron back to her table she put it on. Pulling her wand, Kay started the wand movemnet. "Colorus Revolo Soft Rose." She said and smiled at the color change. "This will do." She said sitting back down and wrote the rest of her notes.

Jen walked up to the stack of aprons happily, wanting to start practicing her charms. She personally did not prefer the boring white colored apron so she took out her wand and swished and flicked while saying, "Colorus Revolvo Turquoise!" Turquoise was her favorite color as well as her birthstone. She was proud of herself when she successfully changed the color of her apron. Smiling to herself, she skipped back to her seat and waited for further instructions.

Victoria sighed after she got the hang of it. Then, she said, "Colorus Revolvo Purple!" After doing so, her apron turned purple, which caused her to smile.
