Hogwarts RPG Name: Kylie Jayde Matthews (Kylie or K-J)
Fourth Year
Kylie finished her cupcakes and inhaled. Mmmmm. She LOVED the smell of freshly baked anything. Sooo good.
She inhaled again. MMMM!!! She couldn't help but thinking. She realized people were starting to leave and cleaned up with a few simple spells. When she came to Hogwarts she hardly had to move a finger, lovely thing about being a witch.
She grabbed her sack as well as levitating the cupcakes in front of her, "Ahhh, thank you so much! These smell wonderful." In addition to the their smell, she was just famished.
OCC: Whoops. This is what happens when you get caught up in school for a week... missing whole lessons...
Gold started, pretty much at once. She could have partnered up, of course, but she sort of wanted to play a little with whatever she whipped up, and she was not too sure if someone else would take well to that.
Of course, there were a few people in the room she wanted to group up with, but pretty much everyone partnered up, before she had a chance to actually get her thoughts, in line.
But get them straightened out, she did. The sixth year had started by preheating the over to exactly three-fifty degrees, used her wand to line the cupcake pans paper, and then proceeded to prepare the cupcake topping.
She used her wand to direct sugar, cream and butter in a saucepan, and then to levitate the bowl on to the stove. She knew she could have used the appliance to set the heat, but this was Charms class after all. That was exactly why Gold used a quick and cheerful "Icendio," to make the stove light up.
Rawwrr.
She waited then, taking in the splendid smell, that rose from the bowl on the stove. "When the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie," she hummed under her voice, as she used her wand to turn the heat off, as soon as the delicious butter had melted. The whole classroom smelled amazing, now. Gold wanted to eat all the pretty scents! Hehe.
Using her wand to levitate the bowl away from the stove, Gold carefully tipped it over, right on top of a liner. The melted mixture in the bowl was poured, right out of the former, and into the latter. Gold moved the bowl away, into the next liner, evenly dividing the mixture. That done, she gave a deft flick of her wand, and the walnuts at her side rose out of their pretty glass bowl, to sprinkle all over the topping.
It all looked delicious enough to want anyone to eat it, right away!
When the moon hits your eye, like a --
Right. Now to prepare the batter. This would be the best part. It would also be where the charmwork they had been taught, came in handy. The application, so to speak. Gold directed the sugar and melted butter mix into her mixing bowl, with the help of her wand, then scraped it, to add vanilla. Her wand was then used to 'peel' the skin off a specific number of bananas, direct a handy kitchen-knife to chop them up, and then to direct them right into the bowl on the table.
Gold put what they had been taught to use, then, slowwwwly mixing the batter.
She paused, after a while, to levitate an egg on top of her bowl, and cause it to crack at the middle. The yolk was introduced to the batter inside, the egg-shell vanished away with a quick "Evanesco!" and then she was mixing again. The directions were to do so for half a minute, after every egg was added, and Gold followed them, down to a T. She did add a hint of chocolate in the batter, however. That was not part of the original recipe, but Gold had always been one to try something new.
Besides, if the cupcake didn't turn out well, she was here to answer for that. We learn from trial-and-error. Experience.
Once the batter had been made, Gold levitated the bowl aside and, levitating a new one right in front of herself, tipped flour and baking soda and powder in it. She proceeded to tip in some salt then, and use "Excito Orbis!" to set her big spoon on self-stir.
Both hands free now, she was able to pay attention to her work-area, clean anything up that needed cleaning, and use the colour-changing charm to turn the wooden spoon a cute pink. SHINY PINK! Gold loved shiny pink to bits. She admired her spoon for a few moments, then admired her apron, before shaking the PINK! thoughts off, for a second or two. She needed to finish this.
Which was why she had her wand at the ready, once more. The Gryffindor added half of the flour she had set aside, with the help of her wand, to the egg mixture, and mixed it thoroughly, though slowwwwly. That done, she added the remaining flour and buttermilk, shifted the speed of her mixing spoon so that it was faster, and -- and, no idea how it happened, her wand fell to the floor, with something of a clatter.
Only, the class was such a busy one, no one - except maybe the Professor - would have noticed that. Shaking her head, Gold quickly bent down to retrieve her wand, and use it to tip the cupcake batter over the delicious topping that she had poured into the liners, earlier.
The walnuts seemed to glisten at her, and Gold could have eaten them, right there, right then, if she hadn't been a more patient person. As it was, she continued to pour the batter in the cupcake-liners, ensuring that it was evenly spread over the sugar-walnut topping.
Sophia cleaned her place. She can take her cupcakes! Yey! She's thinking of giving it to her friends. She copied the homework and packed up all of the things. "Bye, Professor!"

Hermione had finished frosting her cupcakes, she put them on the tray and cleaned up her baking area. She packed up the rest of her things and headed for the door. Charms was sure going to be an interesting class she thought. "Have a good day professor" she said as she left the classroom.
After Noir finished with her cupcakes she began to clean her baking area..After her baking area clean she packed up her belongings and put it in her bag.."Thank you for the lesson Professor it was fun..Have a good day professor.." she smiled to Professor Carlton and then she headed for the door to left the classroom.
Gold picked up ze bowl, and spun around a bit, with it. She was careful though, so that she didn't actually step into anyone else's space, or drop anything, or fling batter all over the place.
That just wouldn't be like her.
Now, of course, it was time to bake!bake. Gold LOVED baking. She looked at Mr. T at the other side of the classroom, as she thought this, and her eyes twinkled. She knew he wanted to be a baker. He must be enjoying this class! She would have to talk to her guy!bestie later, about that.
While the cupcakes baked away happily, Gold set about preparing the filing. It was a combination of flour, sugar and salt, all introduced in a medium saucepan, with the help of some nifty wand-work. She then placed them on the stove, using a spell to set it at a medium heat.
She slowwwlyyy added milk, smiling lightly as she watched the pure liquid splash into the bowl - she loved milk, in general; and in special, when it was warm, or had some chocolate or vanilla added to it - and set her wand, to stir the mixture.
In the meanwhile, she introduced a quarter cup hot mixture to the beaten egg. In a separate bowl, of course. She set this bowl to self-stir too, standing back to watch the TWO!PINK! spoons stirring away merrily. Until, of course, she added the tempered egg to the the mixture in the first bowl, and allowed it to come to a boil.
It was all bubbly, now! The mixture in the bowl, that is. Gold beamed at it, levitated it off the stove, and stirred in some yummy vanilla and better, letting the mixture cool down.
Now, back to the cupcakes, that were being baked. She levitated a toothpick to the top of the cupcake, and gently lowered it, right into a cupcake. It didn't come out clean, which clearly Gold that she needed to let them bake, for a little longer. So she did.
In the meanwhile, she hummed under her breath and thought of all sorts of nice stuff.
All you people can't you see, can't you see
How your love's affecting our reality.
She levitated the toothpick in, again.
Every time we're down,
You can make it right;
It came out clean!
And that makes you larger than life.
Grinning to herself, Gold levitated the cupcakes out, and let them cool for roughly five minutes. It was time to transfer them, then. To the wire-rack. Gold let her wand take care of that, looking at her apron and at everything else that was possibly pink, or looked a little like pink, as she allowed her cupcakes to cool completely.
It was time to switch back to her mix of yummy stuff. My, did it smell lovely! It had to be refrigerated for one hour now, but Gold simply chose to go with a strong cooling charm. Since this was Charms class, after all. "Glacius," she cast, making sure her intent was to cool, and not freeze, the contents of the bowl.
Charms were, after all, often a product of intentions.
Once both the cupcakes and the filling had cooled down, Gold used her wand to caaaarefully unstick the cupcakes from the cupcake-liners. She levitated them on to a try, and sliced each into three. Now she had three cake layers, each! Which meant more fun!
Yeah, every time we're down,
Yeah, you can make it right.
Gold filled the bottom-most layer of each, with banana mash and cream. Then she repeated her action, for the second and top-most layers. Finally, she used her wand to replace the layers, so that the cupcake!stuff was pretty much done. Not entirely, though.
She had to make the paper plate, of course. Gold gave it scarlet edges, with the help of her wand, and gently lowered her batch of cupcakes on to it. Walnut-side up, of course. Then she frowned thoughtfully, flicked her wand, and beamed as the plate turned a very pretty gold. Not the dull kind, but a deep, rich one.
Oh! She had an idea! Gold sprinkled some walnuts, next to the cupcakes. Extra treat! Besides, it looked good. Presentation is an important part of food. Even if it doesn't taste that nice. Bwaha.
"Professor!" She raised a hand, out of habit, to get the teacher's attention, as the latter called out that class was nearly over. Phew! She had finished, just in the nick of time! "Try a cupcake, please?"

With a little swish and flick of her wand, Lexi levitated a stack of paper trays around the room. "Go ahead and take a paper tray to put your cupcakes on. ...and yes, this means you can have all your cupcakes, though I don't recommend eating them all at once. Maybe...have one of yours then trade with a friend?" she continued.
"There's also a new addition to the Charms classroom this year. It's called Molly Weasley's Charmed Kitchen, and you're free to use it when you'd like to just practice or when you're hungry for a treat!" she explained. The little kitchen had been one of the first things Lexi had set up when she was moving into the castle a few months ago. It was a cute little kitchen and one that Lexi just adored. "I'll be in and out of the kitchen in between classes, so you're likely to see me there, too...you know, in case you have a question or need someone to test your products." ...and Lexi did like to test baked products. Especially cupcakes.
"Don't forget to check the oven you used and make sure it's turned off!" she advised. Again, Tate definitely wouldn't take too well to them burning down the castle. "Once your work area is clean and you've gathered all your cupcakes, you're free to go. Check the bulletin board on the wall outside my office---your homework will be posted shortly after class."
OOC: I'd like to take a little moment to thank everyone who attended my very first lesson. It meant a lot to me to have you all here! Points will be keyed in a few days, and the homework will up sometime tonight or tomorrow.
Edit: Homework is now up!

Homework: Charms Lesson One
WRITTEN
1. In class, we talked about a few ways magic has made our lives easier. Choose one item from the list we made and write a small paragraph (at least five sentences) describing how magic has made that specific part of our lives easier. (OOC: If your character added their own option to this list, feel free to use one of those if you'd like).
2. The combination of charms we learned in class causes one item to levitate and fixate and another item to turn. The combination can also be used to wash dishes, since you could levitate and fixate a dish and charm a washrag to turn and clean. Think of at least one other situation (it doesn't have to be kitchen-related) in which you could use the combination of charms we learned in class. In other words, a situation where you could levitate and fixate one object then cause another to turn. Write at least five sentences describing the answer you came up with.
PRACTICAL
Share your cupcakes with at least one other person (student or staff) in the school. OOC: You'll need to roleplay this and link me to the posts of you offering the cupcakes and the other person accepting.
Homework is due Monday, May 31 by 11:59 PM EST. Questions? PM Anna Banana.

They ended up looking really cute, to be honest. Trust Monty to pick a cute cupcake to bake. Grabbing one, he stuffed it in his mouth. "Mmm! We did a good job, Monty!" He grinned at her and held up his hand. "High five!"
Awww, YES! They get to keep them. Grinning, Jimbo took a paper tray and filled it with the cupcakes they had just made. He was not sharing. Nuh uh. Just Monty and him would be eating these. No one else. Jimbo was a greedy boy when it came to cupcakes. He shared other pastries and food, but not cupcakes. Especially not these. These were awesome. The only reason he was even sharing them with Monty was because she made them too. Otherwise, he would have stuffed them all down his throat already.
"Come along, Monty." he said, grabbing his things AND the tray. It was a bit difficult, but he wouldn't let go of the cupcakes. He'd have to check the homework and remember it instead of writing it down. Unless Monty wrote it down for him. Or something. But he was not putting down the tray. He would not risk someone stealing his cupcakes. Or, er, Monty as his' cupcakes. Yush.
Iris looked up and listened to the professor, completely forgetting about the cupcakes. Luckily, Jimbo had finished them off and decorated them in the time that she was listening to the professor.
Quickly writing down the homework, she grinned as she looked up at Jimbo. He was NOT letting go of those cupcakes. He'd have to though. at least two. For the homework.
She raised her eyebrow at him as he told her to 'come along', but then laughed. "Er.. okay. I'm expecting half those cupcakes, though." She said to him. Looking at Professor Carlton, Iris smiled, "This was an AWESOME lesson, professor!" HAPPY GRIN! hehe.
After Aileen took the cupcakes from the oven, she let them cool down a bit and then she heard the professor finishing the lesson, so she packed them. She was soo looking forward to giving them to somebody. She hoped that they would taste good.
"Thanks for the lesson, professor. I really enjoyed it." she said, smiling and she went out of the classroom.

If Lexi wasn't standing...in heels...in front of classroom full of students, she'd do a little squeal of excitement. She'd been really nervous about her very first lesson, and she'd had all those 'first day' jitters. She'd been confident in her ability to teach Charms, but that didn't stop her from sort of feeling just like a first year on the day of the opening feast.
She smiled and waved at a few students who thanked her and said goodbye before leaving.

She'd do that in a second, but fiiirst.
"Professor!" she said, raising her hand. "Would you like to try one of mine and Torin's super!special!secret!RA!NBOW! cupcakes?" she asked with a smile, showing her the tray of cupcakes. "I promise there aren't any egg shells in them!"
