Simon looked at Chris and said suddenly. "No I've never cooked, I had my own personal cook and my own personal maid at home." Simon said truthfully. "I've never cooked anything before." Simon wasn't sure why Chris was laughing but he decided to just continue. "Oh I see." Simon lied not seeing at all. "Why do we do that?" Simon was confused, it didn't say anything about cracking the egg open. "Okay." Simon said as he cracked the egg open and put the other two eggs in the bowl, he then looked at Chris. "There we go." He smiled.
Chris nodded, that was a good excuse then. "Well I haven't really cooked a whole lot either, even though we have a housekeeper. Martha had me help her cook sometimes." he grinned. "She made the best cake I have ever had." he sure did miss Martha when he was at Hogwarts; she had been like a second mother to him. The Gryffindor would just have to write to her soon.
Then more egg questions. "Well we have to crack them because what you eat is the inside stuff and it can't cook into cupckaes when its still all wrapped up in it's shell." Now they were done with those steps and Chris turned to consult the recipe:

"Ok well it looks like its time to levitate the bowl and then stir it. I think i will levitate it and make it hover and you can stir the first part ok?" he pulled his wand from the front pocket of his apron and pointed it at the bowl full of ingrediants. He did a nonverbal levitating spell and swished and flicked and the bwol rose into the air. After it reached an appropriate height for Simon, Chris spoke aloud this time, "Fixate." the bowl stopped and waited. After placing the spoon in the bowl Chris stepped back to allow Simon to come forward.
"There you gom you can stir for the low speed for 30 seconds." It would be safer Chris thought, but Simon was definately improving a lot; Chris was sooo proud of him. "Ready when you are!" Que encoraging grin.
Still grinning, she watched and listened as Santi cleand up the egg from the bowl. Yea, lack of practice, that was it. Catching the rag, she shot him a grateful look and cleaned the egg off her hand as best she could. It was still just a tad sticky, but not enough to bother her.
Making a mental note to learn the spells he was using, she turned her attention to the egg in his hand. He was gonna let her go again? He really wasn't worried about her messing up the cupcakes, was he? Savy? Eyeing the egg thoughtfully, she picked it out of the air. "It sounds like a plan."
Rolling the egg around in her hand, she studied it for a moment, as if deciding the best spot to crack it. Finally she began to softly tap it against the side of the bowl.
Tap...
Nothing.
Tap, tap...
Still nothing. She tried to tap the egg, just a smidge harder, still worried about having a repeat of the previous egg.
Tap, tap, tap....
Hmm. Was that a crack she heard? Arya dared to tap the egg even harder than before.
Tap...tap....taaaaaaaap.....
Crrrraack!
When she heard the egg crack, she froze with it still pressed against the bowl, afraid to move. Then realizing that she was just being silly, she giggled softly and gave the egg one more light tap, cracking it open. "Its cracked!" She said to Santi, as if she had just made a big accomplishment. Which for her it totally was. Using both hands now, she slowly opened the egg and allowed its contents to drop into the bowl. She placed the egg shells on the table and looked to Santi grinning. "Want me to do another one?"
Santi's smile grew when Arya cracked the egg. How could he not be infected her jubilation? She was both ecstatic and surprised. What an amazing combination, it felt better than just pure happiness any day.
"Accio egg," he said thinking of an egg from the fridge. Grasping it as it reached him, he picked up the other two eggs and began to juggle them. It wasn't that he was trying to show off, though he had been accused of that plenty of times, he just liked juggling. When you learn how to do it, you always want to whenever you have three identical objects in your hands. "Sure you can do another, one at a time of course. Besides, I already said you could finish the recipe if you want, I've done it far too many times anyway. " His tongue was stuck to edge of his open lips as he concentrated on keeping the eggs in the air. It would be a shame to drop them on his new bright pink apron, though it may add some character. "Think you can grab one out of the air with a levitating charm?" he raised an eyebrow as he grinned playfully.
It made little difference to him whether these cupcakes turned out well or not, though admittedly he would love to savior the taste of an amazing batch of chocolate cupcakes after. Although if they were great, he would surely gain a few pounds, it was for a batch of 30 or so afterall. He also didn't care if they made a mess of everything. All he wanted was to have a little fun with the lesson. It's something he'd done quite often, so any twist was welcome - even if it meant cleaning egg out of his hair later.

OOC: The cupcake recipes I linked you to are just suggestions. If you can find a different recipe online that you'd rather use, feel free to go ahead and do so. Just remember to use the charm for full credit. Just prepare/bake as you normally would and incorporate the charms when you need to stir. Also, the lesson won't start to wrap up anytime soon (to allow all timezones a change to participate), so take your time baking your cupcakes and using the charm. For full credit, it should take you more than a few posts to roleplay baking your cupcakes.

Melissa went to the stack which was passing by and grabbed a copy of Enchantments in Baking. After Professor Carlton told them all to go to page 317 she found the recipes there and pictures. She grinned to herself. Oooo, cupcakes! I want them now! Partner or a small group to work with or alone? Alright but I'd rather work with someone than by lonely. She thought to herself.
Right so what are the ingredients for the chocolate angel recipe? She asked to herself. She wanted chocolate nothing else, unless it was more chocolate so she decided on having the repcipe which had the longest, the most mouth-watering title. Chocolate Angel Food Cupcake Recipe. That sounded YUM. Looking for the recipe she looked at the ingredients.

He watched as she got the bowl ready, and nodded at her. Seemed good to him. "Right." He added the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, shortening, milk and vanilla after making sure to measure each out in the right amount. Now it was her turn.
"Sounds good to me," he told her with a smile. He had more experience than she did because he knew how to bake with magic already. So he would work with her and help her, but she could take the reins.
He watched as she got the bowl ready, and nodded at her. Seemed good to him. "Right." He added the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, shortening, milk and vanilla after making sure to measure each out in the right amount. Now it was her turn.
As Torin added ingredients to the bowl, Cadence pulled a cupcake pan out from under the cabinet and began putting cupcake liners in the cups. Then she looked at the oven, a bit confused. Yeaaah.... "Hey, I'll finish that. How about you come preheat the oven to 350 degrees," she said smiling at him. Which really meant, come do this because I don't know how. Walking back over to the book, she checked the directions again, reading aloud, "Mix at a low speed for two minutes. Right." Taking her wand out of her apron pocket, she pointed it at the spoon and began making a slow stirring motion. "Locomotor Spoon!" And the spoon began stirring the ingredients together of its own accord as Cadence counted out the time in her head, hoping Torin figured out the oven.

"Oh I see." Simon wondered why though. "Why doesn't it cook with the outside in." Simon looked at Chris. "I've never seen one of them before, what is it?" He hoped no one would laugh but he was telling the truth he hadn't been allowed anywhere near his kitchen at home.
Simon looked at Chris and smiled. "Wise call, we wouldn't want this spilling all over the floor." He looked seriously. "I would probably spill it them we would have to remake the whole batch which would be a huge shame." Simon took his wand out.
"Okay I'll try." Simon said pointing his wand at the bowl. "Locomotor Spoon" But instead of the spoon starting to stir the mixture it spat a little bit out and it Splat hit Chris.
"I'm so sorry Chris." Simon said but he couldn't stop. "Locomotor Spoon" This time the spell worked and Simon stopped the stiring after awhile. "I'm sooooooooo sorry." he turned to Chris looking sad.

She watched Santi as he preformed the summoning charm again, she wanted to leeeearn it. Tilting her head to the side, she watched with amusement as he juggled the eggs. He was good, she herself couldn't juggle, for some reason it made her all dizzy. She had wanted to crack the eggs two at a time, just to challenge herself, but she didn't mind doing it one at a time either. Whatever got the job done.
Watching the eggs as they flew threw the air, she tapped her wand against her chin thoughtfully. "If I levitate the egg out of the air....will you teach me the summoning charm?" A glint in her eyes as she tilted her head to the side. There was no doupt in her mind that she could get the egg, so long as her aim held true. She wasn't one to do things with the intent of getting something in return, but seeing him preform the spell had her wanting to learn it baaaad.

Chris listened intently as Simon talked about his home life breifly hinting again at his lack of kitchen skills. Chris grinned, he liked this boy. He was very kind and he talked alot, which matched well when around Chris Potter.
When Chris was thinking and watching as Simon begun his part of the stirring he was not prepared for what was about to happen. The Head Boy had the sudden urge to yawn and just as he had opened his mouth to go ahead with the yawn, he heard Simon say oops and tasted something AMAZING in his mouth. The Hufflepuff had messed up slightly and a streak of chocolate batter had flung right out of the bowl and made a line across Chris's face, landing part way in his mouth. Chris just laughed. "Well taste test....check!" he said laughing again and take his apron and wiping off his face. They would be cleaned right?
Then he grinned again at the appologizing Simon. "Simon seriously it's ok. It's actually funny. But yeah I think it is safer for me to do the stirring the fast time!" he grinned again.
He pointed his wand at the already levitated bowl with spoon in it and said the incantation. "Locomotor Spoon!" and then he twirled his wand in a fast, tight little circle to show that he wanted the speed to increase. Then he held his concentration for three minutes as he pulled the pan closer to where the bowl was, so they could be ready to tranfer it. Then after the three minutes was up Chris put his hand underneath the bowl and said, "Finite." the bowl started to fall and Chris put his other hand undernieth to catch it. "Whew that was close wasn't it Simon?" he laughed nervously as he sat it down on the counter top.
"Ok now we need to fill up each cupcake whole in this pan 2/3 full." he said giving Simon the spoon and grabbing his own, new one to do his half.

You get this one with the levitating charm and the next egg you can get by way of a summoning charm. It really isn't that difficult, you just need to learn it and practice it. So go on, take one before I drop one." He was quite good at juggling, but his arms did get tired over time, after all, he wasn't in the circus.

Cadence watched Torin slyly out of the corner of her eye, and she immediately felt very stupid. All you had to do was push some buttons?! She probably could have figured that out on her own. The two minutes of stirring were almost up, so she needed to add the eggs and super!secret!sprinkles! She picked up one of the eggs and read the book. "Egg whites," she said to herself as she examined the egg. With a shrug, she cracked open the egg, dumping the gooey part out into the trash bin and dropping the WH!TE egg shell into the bowl.

God was Alexandrie bored glancing around the room. She noticed someone dumping out the egg yolk and whites from the shell and preceded to add the shell. Her jaw fell down and she tried to withhold her laughter. She finally decided to do the smart thing and read waiting for the teacher to answer her question. She picked up her discarded Arithmancy book and waited patiently breathing in the scent of her cupcakes. She also checked the time checking the cupcakes before removing the chocolate cupcakes from the cupcake/muffin tins and placed them on a cooling rack.

He caught her watching him from the corner of her eye and snorted. Honestly he couldn't help but be amused by the fact that she couldn't turn an oven on. Which was a little mean seeing as his girlfriend wasn't much better than that.
"Why are you putting egg shells in it? I thought it would be egg whites." He was slightly confused now.

Beaming at his answer she twirled her wand between her fingers, she watched the eggs intently, trying to figure out when the egg would be in a good position for her to levitate. After a quick moment, she gave her wand a easy swish and flick and pointed it at the an egg as it made its way to the top of the invisible circle. "Wingardium Leviosa." The egg stoped its decent and hovered in the air. She gave her wand a smaller flick and moved the egg out of the path of the other eggs.
Then she levitated the egg over to her free hand, turning to face the bowl. Ever so careful she cracked the egg against the side of the bowl, emptying the contents in the bowl and putting the shell with the other one on the table. "Two down, two to go." Wand spinning between her fingers as she looked at him expectantly.

She couldn't help but smile, though. The kids were being so enthusiastic. Egg shells just wouldn't do, though.
"That's going to make for a mighty crunchy meal, don't you think?" she playfully asked. "You'll need to fish those shells out. An egg white is just the clear liquid-type material that comes out when you crack the egg open."
OOC: This is my last post for the night, but feel free to continue your cupcake baking roleplay. Lexi, of course, will still technically be in class. Again, if you're just jumping in, there are some links in the first post.
Chris listened intently as Simon talked about his home life breifly hinting again at his lack of kitchen skills. Chris grinned, he liked this boy. He was very kind and he talked alot, which matched well when around Chris Potter.
When Chris was thinking and watching as Simon begun his part of the stirring he was not prepared for what was about to happen. The Head Boy had the sudden urge to yawn and just as he had opened his mouth to go ahead with the yawn, he heard Simon say oops and tasted something AMAZING in his mouth. The Hufflepuff had messed up slightly and a streak of chocolate batter had flung right out of the bowl and made a line across Chris's face, landing part way in his mouth. Chris just laughed. "Well taste test....check!" he said laughing again and take his apron and wiping off his face. They would be cleaned right?
Then he grinned again at the appologizing Simon. "Simon seriously it's ok. It's actually funny. But yeah I think it is safer for me to do the stirring the fast time!" he grinned again.
He pointed his wand at the already levitated bowl with spoon in it and said the incantation. "Locomotor Spoon!" and then he twirled his wand in a fast, tight little circle to show that he wanted the speed to increase. Then he held his concentration for three minutes as he pulled the pan closer to where the bowl was, so they could be ready to tranfer it. Then after the three minutes was up Chris put his hand underneath the bowl and said, "Finite." the bowl started to fall and Chris put his other hand undernieth to catch it. "Whew that was close wasn't it Simon?" he laughed nervously as he sat it down on the counter top.
"Ok now we need to fill up each cupcake whole in this pan 2/3 full." he said giving Simon the spoon and grabbing his own, new one to do his half.
Simon smiled as Chris said it was okay, cool he didn't want to upset the headboy, he really thought that Chris was kind and sweet. "Did it taste okay?" Simon asked suddenly having the urge to laugh. "So does it pass the taste test?" Simon hoped it did but he'd get to try it later.
"I'm glad." Simon said as he looked up at the older boy, he hoped he could work with him again in some other class he never seemed to get angry about anything and that was a good thing. "I think it is too."
Simon watch as Chris stired the mixture then stopped what came next he wasn't expecting Chris almost didn't catch the bowl in time but he somehow manage it. "Phew." Simon let out a soft phew sound. "I thought that was going all over the floor." Simon nudged Chris.
Simon took a spoon and fulled his half of the tray with the mixture. "Okay now do we get to eat it?" He asked he didn't want to wait for it to cook, anyway why cook it.
Once the batter was finished stirring, Jen said "Finite!" and caught the bowl in her hands. She then proceeded to pour them into a different pan that had cupcake shapes already cup into it. Once the batter was safely in the pan, Jen walked over to the oven.
She put them in and began to time the baking process. The recipe said to bake them for 20 to 25 minutes in 350 degrees, so Jen had followed those instructions.
After her cupckaes were in the oven Jen walked back to her seat and sat down, waiting for them to be done baking.
Beaming at his answer she twirled her wand between her fingers, she watched the eggs intently, trying to figure out when the egg would be in a good position for her to levitate. After a quick moment, she gave her wand a easy swish and flick and pointed it at the an egg as it made its way to the top of the invisible circle. "Wingardium Leviosa." The egg stoped its decent and hovered in the air. She gave her wand a smaller flick and moved the egg out of the path of the other eggs.
Then she levitated the egg over to her free hand, turning to face the bowl. Ever so careful she cracked the egg against the side of the bowl, emptying the contents in the bowl and putting the shell with the other one on the table. "Two down, two to go." Wand spinning between her fingers as she looked at him expectantly.
When Arya had taken one of the eggs from their path, he had premature tossed another and ended up catching it in his left, holding both eggs. Wow, he would've expected to crack one when doing that, many times he had. Though his fingers had grown since the last time, there was much more room for error.
Watching her wand spin in her fingers, he could tell she was eager to learn having cracked the egg quickly like an expert. "The summoning charm is relatively easy. All you have to do is point your wand towards the object you want and say 'Accio plus the object's name.' In this case 'Accio egg.' He flipped one egg from his left to his right hand. "The hard part, is you have to keep a clear picture in your mind of what you want. Focus on that picture of the egg and see it coming towards you. Don't doubt yourself. Know it'll come when you call."
Smiling, he held out his hand flat with the egg laying in his palm. "Give it a try eh?"

With a flick of her wand towards the back, praying to Merlin that there wasn't a huge container of it... "Accio Vanilla extract." Please no big container, please no big container... For a moment, she thought maybe she had done the spell wrong. Squinting her eyes to the back though, she saw a little brown thing zooming quite quickly towards her. EEP! With her reflexes, she moved out of the way and caught the little brown bottle in her hand.
At least it wasn't a big container..."Well, that was simple. Maybe we should go and get the eggs ourselves. I don't want to clean up a mess."
Of course Evelyn would laugh. She was one of those types that laughed at other people's PAIN and MISERY. No, that was an overstatement. Evelyn only laughed at Destiny's pain and misery. "Ha ha. Laugh it up, since it won't happen again." Or at least she hoped it wouldn't. "I'm fine. I'm fine." she answered, grabbing the book from behind her. After that little fall, she had forgotten all the things she needed.
Flour--check.
Yeah, that was a check alright. And she would have to check later on at the bruise that would be on her from that fall. Nodding to herself after reading the book, she waited as Evelyn summoned the next ingredient. Destiny was really hoping her friend would summon the eggs since it would be incredibly fun to see, especially if they broke. Watching as a teeny brown bottle flew into the her hands, Destiny couldn't help but frown. Why hadn't she summoned that instead of the flour? "Vanilla extract, check!"
She was going to summon the next ingredient, which would have been sugar, but hearing Evelyn mention cleaning up a mess changed her mind. "Yeah, I don't want to clean either." she said, which was a LIE! Making sure the book stayed on the right page, she started walking over to where the ingredients. Hopefully Evelyn was following, since she had forgotten what she needed..again.

He caught her watching him from the corner of her eye and snorted. Honestly he couldn't help but be amused by the fact that she couldn't turn an oven on. Which was a little mean seeing as his girlfriend wasn't much better than that.

Cadence looked up at the sound of Torin's voice and was about to respond with some smart aleck remark when she heard the Professor nearby. Looking up, Cadence mirrored her confused expression. But... the egg shells WERE white. She was going to ask what egg whites were, then, but before she could, the Professor answered the question. Cadi's face blushed a very deep red. "Oh. Right. Sorry, Professor," she said quietly. Pointing her wand at the bowl, she said, "Accio Egg Shells," over and over until she was sure all the pieces of the egg shell were out of the bowl. "I... suppose I should go get another egg, then," she said in her quiet voice. Her spirit was now being smothered by her embarrassment as she ran back to the room with all the ingredients and grabbed another egg. When she returned, she handed it to Torin. "Maybe you should do the eggs, Nirot," she said with the tiniest of smiles. "I'll put in the special ingredient."
And with that, she grabbed her rainbow sprinkles and began adding them to the slowly stirring batter.

Melissa decided to start baking. She went over to a oven and preheated oven to 325 degrees. Then she came back to her table and started on the mix. She combined egg whites with salt and beated until foamy, like the recipe had said. Then she added cream of tartar and continue to beat until the mixture was stiff. She then stirred in sugar, lemon juice and vanilla to the mix. In a separate bowl she stirred together flour, cocoa and baking powder and folded flour mixture into egg whites gradually. There the batter was done.
Alexandrie put her book away and shifted through her Charms book looking for a good recipe for frosting or icing depending. Finally Alex decided on a simple Creamy Chocolate Frosting she started to gather the ingredients:
She was getting hungry even thinking of it. In a Medium size bowl she shifted together the 2 and 3/4 cups of sugar and the 6 tablespoons of cocoa powder unsweetened. She liked cooking the muggle way. Her family's House Elves had taught her after she had gone through the entire family libary. she set aside the medium bowl getting a larger one for the recipe, she put the butter in the bowl then her spoon and levitated it using Wingardium Leviosa before tapping her wand against the bowl and chanting, "Fixeat." so now she could move her wand in the matter she wanted her spoon to go, "Locomotor Spoon" she casted. Smoothing the butter finally before adding in the sugar slowly beating it into the butter alternately putting the evaporated milk as well once done she finally blended in the Vanilla until the mixture was light and fluffy. She casted, "Finite." on the bowl and spoon causing them to slowly drop to the counter. She took a small spoon to see if it was perfect, it was. She decided then frosted her cupcakes and preceded to shave a small bit of white chocolate onto the finished cupcakes. It wasn't in the recipe but..it looked great. She stepped back to admire her work. Certainly worth it she decided.

Selena smiled meekly. She felt really bad now. What did she do to deserve such a nice and understanding teacher? She smiled at the professor. Selena really did crave that cupcake now... Gah. Focus! Selena scolded herself for having such a short attention span. "Sorry," Selena said once more with an apologetic smile. This was definitely her new favorite teacher.

Although her eyes were glues to the eggs, her eare picked up every word that Santi was saying. The motion and incantation was easy enough, it was the whole concentration thing that she knew would stump her. Focusing on one object at a time wasn't really her strong suit. When he layed his hand out flat, the egg tilted to the center and layed still. And that's when a whirlwind of thoughts started to run through her mind.
Focus on the egg, picture the egg....the white egg....lying still, not dancing.....dancing egg.....crazy egg.....crazy dancing egg.....crazy dancing cracked egg.....humpty dumpty. Arya grinned at her thoughts and tried to flush them from her mind as she pointed her wand at the egg. "Accio egg." It didn't move, but her head did, tilted to the side it did.
She didn't expect the egg to move on the first try, still she was slightly dissapointed. Pausing for a moment, she tried again pointing her wand at humpty dumpty the egg. "Accio egg." The egg still didn't budge and she sighed softly. "I guess I'll have to practice more.....after class."
OOC: I don't want her to be successful with this just yet, so we can just keep on with the baking. Maybe meet up latter if he still wants to help her.XD

No she was done laughing. For now...
Following Destiny to the ingredient museum park, the thing was HUGE, she paused right in front of it and...looked. "So, where are the eggs?" she asked uncertainly, glancing over at Destiny and HOPING to see that she already got them. Nope. Eh.
"Ugh. Well, you get the eggs and cream of tarter. I'll get the sugar and salt." Since, sugar and salt look exactly alike, they'd have to be in the same spot right? She didn't want to have to go an a giant scavenger hunt the entire lesson.
It was too bad they didn't have music playing in the background while they cooked. That would have made it more fun.
