At the top of the steep steps, high in Ravenclaw Tower your dormitory awaits you. The circular room is lined with beds and trunks, a few owls flutter about the space and several cats chase dustballs on the wooden floor. Books and homework cast throughout the room show just how studious the members of Ravenclaw are. Pull back the sheets and close the curtains because another day of learning lies ahead!
Remember, no girls allowed!

Jay walked up into the dormitry, there was nobody here, he just sat on the edge of his bed and then layed down, he started thinking about things, things he didnt want to think about. He just stay there laying.
The only movement was his chest moving in and out breathing and his eyes blinking, the rest of him was just like a statue.
After a few minutes, "wonder where everyone is..." he said to himself.
Kellen walked into the Boys' dorm, scratching his ribs and smiling absentmindedly. As usual, he'd stuffed himself at the Opening Feast, and his plan was to get off his feet before the digestion seriously kicked in. He waved at the young boy already there and dropped onto his bed, kicking his shoes off as he went, "Hey there."
Ah. Kel loved this place. It was very relaxing. He half smiled to himself as he entered the boy's dorm, waving at the two boys that were already in it. One of the boys looked young, and the other looked about his age. But he didn't know any of them. So, he went right to his bed. When he got to it, he kicked off his shoes and took of his school robes. He frowned at the pressed white shirt he was wearing underneath it - it wasn't comfortable. But Kel jumped onto his bed, bouncing a few times because of the springs, and then tucked a pillow beneath his head.

Kellen grinned at the new boy jumping on his bed, waving at him as well. Considering that he'd been a new student last year, some part of him had thought that he'd know all the boys in the dorm this year, with the exception of firsties of course. But... he didn't see anyone he knew. Damien was gone, Ian wasn't here either, and he couldn't help but think to himself that if he'd been sorted into Gryffindor, he could be smacking Sabel over the head with a pillow right now.
Still, no use in griping. It was much better to get to know the other boys in his house, "Hey, I'm Kellen, fifth year. How'd your summers go?"
Just getting back to the dorm right before curfew, Isaiah was marveled at the wonders at hogwarts. He never knew that the magical world was so vast and could be taught at a school. When Isaiah reached the upstairs dorm he went over to his bed and sat down. He noticed the other boys and the room and said "hello" and they said "hello" back. Isaiah knew that tomorrow would bring more new mysteries.

When the older boy started talking to him, Kel sat up. "Kellen?" he repeated, laughing a bit. "I'm Keltan." Ha. Weird, their names were kind of the same. Cool. "Keltan Micheals. But you can call me Kel. I'm a sixth year."
He scooted back on the bed so that his back was against his headboard. "My summer was...something." he answered, frowning, stretching on the bed. "I'm glad to be back at Hogwarts, that's for sure. What about yours?"

"Keltan?" Kellen scratched the back of his neck, sliding up on his bed to mirror Keltan's posture, "That's going to get confusing, I think. I don't suppose you have a nickname other than Kel?" It would be strange to use the first syllable of his own name to address someone else. Still, he wasn't going to force a nickname on the boy. That was more something his cousin would do.
Ah, so someone else had experienced an usual summer. Kellen smiled, "I went backpacking through the wilds of Canada with a few friends. All a brilliant scheme of my father. It wasn't too bad, but I sure missed the Hogwarts food."
Kellen...Kel...it's confusing me while writing it xD

"I don't have any other nickname that I particularly like." Kel corrected Kellen, thinking of Kelto and Kelly. Kelly was the worse of the two - Deliliah had called him that. Shudder. "But, I guess if you can think of anything else, it'll work." Kel shrugged. He surely wasn't creative enough to think up a nickname for himself.
Canada? Kel had never been to Canada. "Sounds...interesting?" he raised an eyebrow questioningly. It really did sound interesting, Kel had never done anything as fun as backpacking in his life. When Kellen finished talking, Kel laughed. "Hogwarts food is pretty great..." he agreed, trailing off and smiling.

Now there were lots of new people coming in. Kellen shrugged at Keltan, "We should both get a nickname. Ones that have nothing to do with Kel-whatever. It's only fair, right? Maybe we can have hobby-names. What do you like besides grinding grades?" It seemed a fair assumption to make that Keltan did his homework: Ravenclaw, and all that.
"Isn't it though? Man, I won't have to eat for a week after tonight," Kellen puffed out his stomach and patted it with a grin. He shook his head at memories of Canada, the grin turning to a smirk instead, "Interesting is one word for it. I'd never gone on a trip like that before, and my father... is a bit of an extremist. Climbing mountains, running from bears... at one point he made us eat Gillyweed and shoved us into some rapids. You know... outdoorsy stuff."

"Sounds fair to me," Kel agreed, laughing. Oh, his hobbies? Now that was a problem. The only real hobbies he had were of the musical sort - but it wasn't like he was gonna tell this guy that he hardly knew that he played the piano. "I..." he pretended to think, though he was really trying to figure out how to word what he was going to say. "I like music. Play instruments and all that." he shrugged nonchalantly. "What about you?" Now wouldn't that be weird if they had the same hobby?
Kel's eyes widened and he nodded. "I know, right?" he shook his head, lookin at his own stomach as if he could see how it'd gotten bigger after how muh he'd eaten. "Running from bears?" he repeated, then shook his head. Outdoorsy stuff. Honestly, it sounded exciting to Kel. Even if running from bears was most likely life-threatening. "You don't do that kind of stuff often?" he asked, catching the part about how Kellen had never gone on a trip like that before.

"Music? That's cool, what do you play?" Kellen's musical appreciation was strictly of the listening variety. He'd once owned a trumpet, but that got exactly four notes out of it before his father bent it and kicked him outside to explore. "I like playing polo... you know, contact golf on horseback? It gets a little rough at times, but we have a lot of fun. I don't compete or anything." Or at least, had competed for exactly how long it took him to realize that playing for fame and money tended to take away the fun part of it.
"Conjured bears," Kellen specified. "Most of the time we'd have to find a beaver dam to scramble across. It was all a part of my father's 'Man Up' campaign. Can't say I appreciated it at the time... or even now... but I'm sure in a few years I'll look back on it with only slightly unpleasant thoughts in my head." The grin on his face made it clear that he was joking, and he shook his head at Keltan's question, "Haaaaa-no, no I don't. Do you?"

"Er, piano." Right. Might as well just tell him. Let him make fun if he wanted...but hopefully he didn't want to. "And a little bit of guitar. But not really, because I just started teaching myself it, and I hardly got to play over the summer." Kel looked over at Kellen, nodding. "That's cool. Do you play quidditch?" he asked, curious.
He couldn't help but laugh again. "And did it help you 'man up?'" he questioned, grinning. "You'll appreciate it once you realize how valuable the lessons you learned are." Yes, that was sarcasm. Kel could tell that Kellen had been joking. "Do I?" he repeated. Then he snorted. "Ha. Yeah right." he shook his head. "My father believes that 'manning up' is an indoor process. He'd never even think of sending me out into the wild running away from magicked bears."

"Piano? Do you focus more on classical or modern stuff?" Just because he didn't play, didn't mean he knew about it. That's what little sisters were for, "And hey, good luck with the self-teaching. That's pretty ambitious. Do you know anyone else here who plays?" Maybe they could form a band, and Kellen could play the tambourine. He was pretty sure he could handle that.
Oh, man, this question. This unavoidable, frustrating question. He picked up one of his pillows and tucked it against his chest, almost like a shield, "No, not if I can help it. I never got into the whole broom... thing. I've been told I'm an asset to the cheering section, though?"

Ah, so he wasn't going to make fun of him. That was nice. "Modern." Kel answered, nodding sharply. "I know the classical stuff, of course. But I like playing modern stuff. It's usually more...fun. And I can sing with it, usually." he mumbled the last part, looking down at his feet. But, he looked up when Kellen continued. "Thanks. I bet it'll take me a while, because, to answer your question, no." he frowned. It would be a lot easier to learn to play the guitar if he had someone to teach him.
He felt slightly relieved at Kellen's answer. At least he wouldn't have to get into a huge conversation about sport he really didn't know about. "Me either." he told him. "I'm rubbish on a broom, to tell the truth. Cheering on the team is more my style." And some times he didn't even do that. But, he'd make it a goal this term to go see all the Ravvie quidditch matches. Yes, yes.

"It helped me get in shape, but I haven't started a beard yet." Kellen grinned, "Of course, when faced with a dark wizard I will be very adept at running away." It wasn't like he was any good at dueling, after all. He who learns to run away, keeps on running other days. Or something like that. He laughed at Keltan's description of his own father, "But see, maybe your father actually wants to you reach adulthood. Sometimes... I wonder about mine."

"Well, I'm sure there are musicians all over the place," Kellen threw his arms wide to indicate the whole castle. "The trick is finding a piano. And hey... don't be embarrassed about the whole singing-along thing. You're over the voice-drop phase, so no worries there, and girls usually like boys singing. Well, most boys," he winked, "I prevent bleeding ears by keeping my warbling to the shower."
Kellen considered this shared trait of broom-suckage. And cheering. More as a joke than anything else, he casually pondered, "I wonder if Ravenclaw has a cheerleader squad. To help with team spirit and... stuff."

"Running away is a useful skill." Kel acknowledged. "And most dark wizards would probably be slower than a bear, too. You're lucky you have the practice." He was actually really enjoying himself. Kellen was pretty much the first male around his age that Kel had actually had a conversation with. It was kind of nice - when he was with girls, he had to worry about stuff like manners. And although he still had to do this with guys, he didn't have to be as careful. "Oh, I'm sure my father wants to keep me alive. But he's doing it in a rather boring way." Kel shrugged.
"That's what the Room of Requirement is for." he stated, smirking. "The piano, I mean." He half-smiled when Kellen told him not to be embarrassed. "I never thought about how girls liked it..." he mused, looking up at the canopy above his bed. Suddenly, he grinned. So that was why Jenn had been happy to hear him sing! It all made sense now. "Do you play any instruments?" he asked, realizing he hadn't asked that yet. Because, obviously, singing was out of the question. Nobody liked bleeding ears.
"Maybe we should organize a cheer squad," Kel suggested, also joking. "I'm sure I could find a few girls that would like to cheer." He shook his head, laughing slightly. "I'm sure it would at least boost up attendance at the matches..." Oh, yes. Most definitely.

Kellen laughed, picturing himself fleeing from a very confused dark wizard, "Well, I'll tell you what. The next time my father wants to take me out into the wilderness, you can come and practice with me! How's that sound?"
His shoulder lifted and settled, "In my experience? Whatever we're embarrassed by, they like. I don't know why, but that seems to be the trend." He couldn't help but think of Neptune Bott, for some reason. Then he grinned at Keltan's question about the instrument, "I can play a pretty wicked kazoo. That's the extent of my musical talents."
The pillow he was holding went back behind his head, and Kellen snickered, "Oh, probably. Again, we'd think it was embarrassing, so clearly girls would love shaking their pompoms and dancing around. I can't help but think attendance would bottom out in the colder months though."

Tyler was sleepy. Today had been SUPER exciting and he had run around all the time, but... Well, it was night-time. And he was tired.
Climbing the stairs up to the boys' dormitories, Ty grabbed his toiletries and went to get ready for bed. After about ten minutes, he stepped out of the shower, clad in his turquoise pyjamas. The water had done wonders to him - at usual - and he didn't feel tired at all anymore.
"Hello!" he said to the boys there and waved happily as he recognised Kel. "HEY Kel!" he added and walked nearer to the group of older boys, straining his neck to see their faces. There were a few that looked closer to his age - but still. He was the shortest.

Kel smirked as he pictured himself as a cheerleader. It was...quite a picture. But then he pictured Jenn as a cheerleader, and he laughed. "What you up to? I had the BEST day today!" Ty nodded, remembering all the excitement. If every day were like this - well, let's just say he'd camp out by the gate in the summer because there was no WAY he was going back home. Feeling a drop of water run down his face from his still damp hair, Ty shook his head violently and effectively sprayed whoever was near him with water.
Hehe. He was too wound up to feel sorry though, she he just smiled up at Kel after spotting his wet shirt. Oh well. Kel would forgive him, Ty was sure.

Hehe. He was too wound up to feel sorry though, she he just smiled up at Kel after spotting his wet shirt. Oh well. Kel would forgive him, Ty was sure.
"Not much," he replied, chuckling. Did Ty ever run out of energy? It was nighttime, and he still seemed to be going, and going, and going. "Just talkin' to Kellen, here." he nodded at the fifth year. "Kellen, this is Ty." he added, nodding to the second year.
"Oh, really? What'd'ya do?" He asked, then quickly jumped back as Ty shook his head - the Kel now realized was wet - smacking his head against the wall in the process. He grimaced as he rubbed the back of his head with his palm, but he didn't say anything. As he looked down at his shirt that had caught the most water off of Ty's head, Kel couldn't help but laugh.

Kellen raised an eyebrow at the boy's enthusiasm, "Really? Well alright then, if you think so." He sure hadn't expected that as an answer...
He raised a finger and shook it sagely at Keltan's analysis of female behaviour, "I think you're on to something there. One of my friends seems to get a real kick out of whenever I stammer over something." A shake of the head accompanied this statement, but then Kellen grinned, "The kazoo is a beautiful instrument. Capable of turning an off-key hum into an even more annoying off-key hum. And it's great at parties."
Was something still considered a joke if you started talking about possible setbacks that would occur if you did it? "It would, especially since we're the ones who'd have to be doing the lifting. Then again, I'm sure we'd have an area cleared off for us, and probably gripping charms on our shoes. And sweaters. The point is to cheer on the team, not catch pnemoni--"

Kellen's eyes blinked closed as a few drops of water hit his face, his mouth closing up to prevent any going in there. He'd once taken in a mouthful of shampoo-water and his tongue hadn't forgiven him for weeks. Once he was sure no more water was coming, Kellen opened his eyes and nodded at the newcomer with a small smile, "Hey Ty. Nice PJ's."

"Kellen? And Keltan? You have almost the same names! So, wait, YOU," he pointed at Kel, "will be Kel A, and YOU" he pointed at Kellen, whom he hadn't officially met yet, "will be Kel 1. THAT way, you're both first and different, okay?" Ty nodded, proud of his quick thing. 1 and 2 or A and B was just mean. Imagine how bad Kel 2 or Kel B would feel!
"Thanks, Kel 1 - I like the colour!" Ty giggled, trying out the guy's new name. It was nice - rolled off the tongue, which was VERY important in a name. Imagine if you were called Hagireredimspepton. It was just BLEH and hard to say!

Kel smiled to himself, looking down. Kellen probably hadn't expected that. Well, he probably didn't believe how boring Kel's life actually was. If he understood that, he'd understand why Kel's answer had been so eager.
He nodded, proud of his genius. At that moment, he felt like he'd realized a secret of the way girls ticked. He probably hadn't - but he liked to think it. "That's the way my girlfriend is." he said, nodding again. He laughed at Kellen's description of the kazoo. "Exactly." he agreed, laughing. "And it's really easy to play, too." That was always a plus.
Lifting? That would be...something. Wouldn't it be horrible if they were doing some really cool trick-type-thing and he dropped the girl he was holding up? "The professors would take safety precautions." Kel replied, hoping he was right. Wait. They were joking, right? They weren't actually, like, planning on it, right?

He grinned at the second year. "Kel A and Kel 1?" he repeated, glancing at Kellen, "I guess that takes care of the nickname issue, huh?" he chuckled. It kinda went against the whole nont-Kel-anything...thing, but hey, it was somethin'!
