Welcome to the Art and Entertainment Booth!

Please, take one of the pamphlets and stick around to enjoy what will probably be one of the most entertaining events of your life. Perhaps it will motivate you youngsters who are looking for a career in the Arts to go out and pursue your dreams and goals!

At this booth, you will find the bright and cheerful ‘not-so-famous-anymore’ famous childhood star Delilah Cravey, and the nervous perfectionist wizarding portrait painter, Andrew Pierre. They have both agreed to come and talk about two certain professions that they believe that you, yes you, should take up in life.

Although, not only will you be just listening about these jobs, you will have a chance to try them out yourself! However, Delilah has taken it upon herself to think that she is the star of the ‘show’, and has roped Andrew into assisting her in one of the most common activities of acting: Improv. Yes! You will have a chance to act out scenes with Delilah and Andrew and get a feel of what acting is, like they do in the real world…out there; Beyond those walls of school and education.

A few at a time may step up, and Delilah will be giving you a scene to act out, and depending on the scene, either Delilah or Andrew will be helping you, however reluctant or nervous Andrew is. It will become apparent quite fast that acting is not one of his strong points, and he doesn’t like to be giggled at… beware.

So, what are you waiting for? Come on up, and make yourself known! If you have any questions, suggestions, or just feel like wanting an autograph which Delilah surely will not mind giving, go right ahead and ask.

Gold was NOT looking for a career in theatre, or arts, or something of that sort. Though, if you ask her, she would tell you that healing is an art, too - an art that requires a lot of delicate handling.

BUT. Reason she was here?

Autographs!

Heading over to the two professionals who were here, Gold gave them both a pretty, little smile. "Good day," she said, easily. "I'd love an autograph." On her handbag, of course. It would become something she could treasure, then. Something with a special Hogwarts-ish memory.

Splendid, right?

Trixie skipped straight on over to the art and entertanment section of th job fair. It was excatly what she wanted to do. Being a trile threat, singing, dancing and acting, meant that Trixie could persue a career in any of the art forms. But she loved musical theatre but hadn't heard whether they had it in the Wizarding World. They certainly didn't have it in Wales. But Trixie had an open mind. She loved her animals so magical creatures was another option.

She approached the table. "Good Morning" she smiled grabbing one of the leaflets provided.

"Ohhhhh Darling!" She said pushing the man... what was his name again? Alphonse? Anton? Andy? She couldn't remember, no matter though... She had an ADORING FAN!!! "Oh Dollface, aren't you precious... she said conjuring a picture of herself, and writing with her magenta quill at the bottom right corner. "always... keep... dreaming... Delilah... Cravey..." She said as she wrote... "And what's your name, sweet girl?" She asked moving the quill to the top of the picture writing the word 'To ' and waiting.


"Hi luv, give me a moment to finish this autograph, and I'll give you one as well... Anton? Abby? Whatever your name is..." She called to the man in the booth with her, "Can you hand me another picture, luv?"

Hmm? What was this? People?

Turning around from staring at a portrait, and example he thought that he would bring with him, Andrew noticed the two kids that had walked up. One older than the other obviously. Like that helped matters. Two people, was more than one. Which meant he needed to pay twice as much...attention...

"Hello-oomph!" he started to say, but found himself being pushed slightly. Andrew, was not wimpy! He just had...sensitive skin, and someone was too close to him. "Umm...yyyes." he mumbled, his face beat red in embarrassment as he turned to find one of her pictures. Wasn't hard really.

"Here you go." And, queue the huge step that was taken backwards away from everyone else.

Herminny walked into the genral area of the Great Hall knowing there was a job fare going on and quickly found it. THe job that most intrigued her was the Art and Entertainmant Booth. Not that she thought she would actually persue a career in that field it just seemed awesome to meet stars and maybe get some advice and pointers from those who have made it. She picked up a pamphlet walked up t the woman sgning autographs for 2 other students and said, "Hi, I'm Herminny, I was wondering if you could give me a few pointers on you're profession. I have other options so this is just hypothetical but still it would mean a lot to me.".

"Thank you love..." She said tossing a kiss at him before she continued with the new girl here.


"Hi Herminny," She said looking at the girl... "I would say good skills Transfiguration is a good quality to have... and you need to be talented... like me!" She said flipping her hair.

"I'm sure transfiguration would be quite handy in a profession like this but what do you mean by skills. I mean I've done some stage work over the summers which I've found quite enjoyable but what sort skills and talent does it truly take. I can't imagine it's all just the luck of the draw.".

"Well see if you are like me, and have natural talent... then everything will fall into place. But very few people are like me," she flipped her curly hair, "I mean really, there in only ONE Delilah Cravey..." she said and then said, "So I guess schooling is important. WADA is a great school... quit Hogwarts and go there!" She said with a nod.

Ehhhh.... "I'm gunna go...straighten out the picture." It was lopsided.

Again.

Andrew coughed for a moment, overhearing what the conversation between the young girl and Delilah.


Did the woman have to say it like it?

Even though, granted, acting was not his job, the girl was still young. Why not just finish the school years out here and then transfer to somewhere else?

Hmmm...

Time to straighten out that picture! It was driving him crazy.

Trixie smiled at Deliliah. She reached out for the photograph and smiled slightly. Well she hadn't asked for one but hey that would go well in the small theatre room her family had in their Manor. "My name's Trixie Ma'am" she replied with a grin. "And I am what the Muggles would consider a Triple Threat. I was just wondering what career paths you think I could take with my talents in the entertainment business" she smiled her gorgeous Veela descendant smile.

"Mam, theres only one of everyone. Our talents may make us stand out in a crowd but that does not make us better then everyone else who are also trying to make something of themselves whether they have natural talent or not. And natural talent can only get you so far. It's a step in the right direction but you still have to develop that talent or you'll never grow or progress so I'm sure ou must have worked hard or you would not be where you are today, no. What have you done over the years to improve yourself as an actress. And thanks but no thanks on trying to transfer to WADA. I'm in my OWL year, the most important year at Hogwarts that determines my future in fields I have a much better shot at getting into.". There were other things she wished to say but she knew she had to be polite as much as this woman seemed like no talent playing on assets that may or may not be hers diva but she was willing to give her the benifit of the doubt.

"Triple threat! That's good... it isn't ME, but it's good. See I'm a octoganal threat... that's more." She said nodding. "But for you I am guessing the best way to break in is to get an amazing manager... I'd give you the name of mine, but Mom doesn't like working for me, let alone others." She laughed.

"Awww, are you hurt? Upset? Honey, you gotta get use to rejection in this business... Look at Anton over there..." She said, gesturing to the man that shared her booth and then whispered "He's been rejected by me many many times... not with words... but he knows... he's still in love with me and won't quit looking at me and giving me smiles and winks... he played it off as if he had something in his eye... but I knew better..."

Trixie laughed. "Oh I see. Do they have musical theatre in the wizarding world?" she asked. Her parents had respectable jobs, Quidditch Player and Auror. Trixie didn't believe the whole Octagonal threat. There was no such thing. Singing, dancing and acting were the three things that made a triple threat. If she included her other talents then perhaps she would be more of a threat. "Really?" she asked an eyebrow raised. "And what would they be?" she asked,

"Do we have musical theatre?! Of COURSE we do!" She said acting as if the girl was daft... "It's not only for muggles you know! Haven't you read the papers? Haven't you seen my reviews? Merlin, if you don't know, why should *I* tell you."

Josey walked over to the art and entertainment booth after she was done with the healers. She picked up and pamphlet and looked through it- she now had two! She looked up and saw a stage. The activity looked fun! She couldn't wait to try it!

As much as Selena loved the arts, she was not as interested in acting as a career. However, she did admire Delilah's acting. She was more into Andrew's portraits.
"Excuse me, Miss Cravey, can I have your autograph?" Selena asked shyly. She then turned to the man who drew portraits. "Mister Pierre, can you tell me more about drawing portraits? How did you know you wanted to pursue this career?" Selena asked with a small, shy smile.

Finally! The portrait was straight. Satisfied with it, Andrew fixed his hat and stuck his hands in his pocket while he stared at his work.

But, out of the corner of his eye, he saw someone taking one of the pamphlets from the pile. "Hello." he said with a kind smile. One person wasn't stressful. Thank Merlin Delilah was talking to the others. "Interested in the Arts and Entertainment? If you stick around, we should be starting our improv game pretty soon."

Right?

"Hello..." Eep! Two people! But, that was okay. Two was better than five!

But this young girl, actually wanted to know about his portraits? Well, as long as she didn't step too close to it. "Oh, well I've always loved to draw when I was younger. I didn't really know how to do anything else." he said with a definite nod. He pretty much failed at everything else. "Just one of those hobbies where you can get away from everything and be yourself, you know? I was lucky enough to start learning, really learning about it at a young age."

But now he was just relieved to draw what he wanted and to not have a teacher breathing down his neck. "Drawing portraits...there really is no trick or specific way to go about it. Everyone's technique is different, and everyone learns at a different pace, but what really shows the difference between a good portrait and a sloppy one, is patience. Materials too I guess, but one should really have patience and passion. Those two can make you go a long way."

"I think your portraits look nice," Selena smiled. "How were you discovered? Because most people say that it doesn't matter if you have a talent in art if you're not famous," Selena said sheepishly. "Do you have any suggestions for me, if I were to pursue this career?" Selena asked.

"Upset, ofcourse I am. You're belittling those around you having the dillusion you're better then everyone else just cause you made it in the buisness. Regardless what we ever achieve no one is ever better then anyone else. More tallented, maybe, but better nope. And I can take rejection and have numerous times over the years but it only pushed me to work harder. And it's sad that you treat other people the way you do. You don't have to like him but to totally reject himm just is not right. And I think I've heard enough from you. I don't think you can help me, and I think I'll just be on my way", Herminny responded and walked away from that booth disapointed that anyone would have an attitude like hers. She certainly is no help and could see that the only thing keeping her on the radar is her assets whether they were hers or not because if she truly cared about the craft she would have been able to answer her questions. She turned to to Magical Creatures Regulation which she hoped would be more promising.

"Of Course!" She said and took a picture from the stack. "Here we are... " She said signing "With.... lots.... of.... love.... Delllllllilaaaaah.... Craaaavey." She smiled and handed her the picture.


"But honey, it's true... I AM better than everyone else... awww poor sweety." Delilah said and twirled. "She didn't really understand did she." She said to the man with her. "Maybe she was crushing on you..."

"Thank you." he said, smiling as he tried to keep his face...not so red. "In school, umm, my art teacher had a friend that wanted a portrait done of his family, so he had suggested me. That was my first job that I had." And he was so nervous, he felt as if he was going to be sick.

"I'm still trying to build up a name actually, but so far, everything seems to be going smoothly. A few bumpy roads here and there, but what career doesn't have those." Oh, thank Merlin. He actually was having a not stuttering or nerve wracking conversation. "You just need, to put yourself out there. You know...never give up! If you have money, you can start with advertising your work in the paper, perhaps start by doing smaller things such as..."

Hmm, what can one do? "Such as...art for theatre! Broadway sets and such. A lot of people go and see Broadway plays. Being a portrait painter, or any kind of painter, is just like any other job really. Competition. There is always a ton of competition so, really...never give up. That's where that patience and passion come into play again. If you love your career and what you do, even though times may seem tough, you need patience and never give up."

Aaand, now his nerves were back. Too close! "Who's crushing on who?" he asked in surprise, looking over to the, twirling blond woman.

Willow was very excited to find out there was a job fair and went straight to the arts and entertainment booth. She really enjoyed drawing and took a walk over to the portraits that Andrew Pierre had done. She was very impressed. She walked up to him and said "Hi, I'm Willow. I was wondering what attracted you to doing portraits? I've never tried them myself, mostly landscapes or things I see in my head."

"Wow, thanks," Selena smiled before tucking it into her bag.

"Really? Do you only do portraits?" Selena asked. "Or do you do landscapse... photography and sculptures as well?" Selena added. Art was an incredible thing. Patience was something Selena lacked a bit in.

Hearing her keep insisting she is better then everyone just infuriated her and then she heard her claim that she may have been crushing in the other artist there. This girl was going too far and she turned around and retorted, "Just because you are in a career many people admire does not make you better then everyone else. We are all equals because we are all human beings and I am not crushing on you're artist freind even though I'm sure he's a fine guy. Just because I suggest you show him a little more respect does not mean I'm crushing on him. In fact I bet there are a lot of people in you're life you should show some more respect to. In my drama school I was taught if you are taking this in the attempt to become a diva you're in the wrong place because drama is a passion. You do it because you love it and if you gain fans you can appreciate it but remember that just because you're fans may not have achieved what you have whether they wanted it or not they still work at whatever it may be they want everyday just like you so they are equals.".

"Miss Dana Carvey here is suggesting I am crushing on you which I'm not, I'm sure you're a nice guy but I don't even know you.", Herminny said crossing her arms and looking back at the young diva actress. Miss Dana Carvey was not gonna spread rumors about her, it was just not gonna happen.
