"Urggghh..I hated Arithmancy Lessons..I never good at Arithmancy.." she mumble to herself..she looked around..
she saw this Gryffindor girl and she approached her.."Umm..Hello..My name is Noir..I saw you still haven't partner..I was wondering do you mind if I'll be your partner?" she said to the girl..
She was so relieved to see someone that was willing to take a chance on her. She smiled, "Of course, that would be wonderful! I need a partner, but I wasn't sure who to ask to be honest. My name is Sini, happy to meet you!" She was hoping that Noir and her were going to get along. "Well, I guess we should get started then, okay, we are supposed to share our full names and birthdays so that we can find our Life Path Number and our Destiny Number. I hope it's not too hard to figure out." then picking up her quill and a fresh piece of parchment she wrote out her full name and birthday, saying it as she wrote it, "Sini Sarah Snider, August 15th, 2058. What's your full name?"
The more Destiny looked at Cedric's hair, the more she had to agree with the compliment she had given him. It was nice, and it looked really soft. She wanted to ask if she could touch it, but she figured he was on of those boys that spent a really long time in the mornings to perfect their hair, and with one sweep of a hand, it would be ruined. Destiny really didn't want to listen to him complain that she had ruined his hair, so she would just admire it..when he wasn't looking, since that would be really strange and stuff.
Cedric was laughing at her..again. Not knowing what she did to cause him to laugh, she glared at him with an eyebrow raised. Maybe he was laughing because she had never been to France. She didn't see anything funny in that though. Some people were not lucky enough to be able to travel all over the place anytime they wanted too! As he asked about her blood status, her eyebrow lowered and she was not glaring anymore. Well, she knew he was either a muggle-born or half-blood, since he had said his mother owned muggle businesses. And she had never heard of a hobble before. "I'm a pureblood." she answered. "I know a few things about muggles. Like we have a telliewission at home!" Hopefully Evelyn didn't hear her say that. Her friend would not be pleased. "Are you..half-blood?"
How was Destiny supposed to know why the book's interpretation was wrong about her? It's not like she wrote the thing. "Perhaps the book is outdated or something. It's too old to know my life numbers and stuff." Obviously it was right for Cedric, since his interpretations were all right about him, and he was older than herself. "Or the book is stupid." Ha! Who would have though a book could be stupid!?
BLINK.
Cedric loved her? Because she was funny!? Eww. Eww. Ewwwww! She raised her eyebrow as he said that, and started to lean back in her chair. Usually when someone says they love you, they end that statement with a kiss. There was no way she was going to let him put his lips anywhere near her face! She was relived as he didn't kiss her, but instead pinch her cheek. Not that she wanted her cheek to be pinched, but it was much better than a lip-lock, that's for sure. "Oww!" she exclaimed as he let go. She could feel her cheek turn red, but that was only because he pinched her SO HARD!
She sat there, wide eyed and rubbed the spot he pinched. Pfft, and now he couldn't answer if she stunk or not. "Maybe you need to see the Healer if you are cold. You're getting sick." That's because he had cooties.
Once again Destiny glared at Cedric. He had mussed up her reading! Not that she cared or anything since now there was a huge possibility that she was not going to be doomed working at a bookstore when she was older.
Good thing. The smell of new books gave her a headache.
Ced loved Destiny. The way she glares at him, and the way she sort of gives him that incredulous look. The girl was just one of the most interesting person he's ever met. He was certain that his girlfriend would love to meet Destiny because, like seriously, Destiny has sense of humor! And he then watched her as she tried hard not to look or gaze on his hair. He chuckled a bit and threw a banter at her again, "Ya know. If you want a hair like this. Tangling and intertwined yet.. precious, yep, I can accompany you to New York city, on a place called Harlem, where you can have your hair braided or well, curly like this. But my hair is natural." And that was true, as his mom said to him one warm summer day, the strands of his hair were tangling with each other since she gave birth to him.
And then she asked him about his bloodline, he wasn't quite sure what to answer. He was just in doubt that Destiny wouldn't believe that he was actually a pureblood like she. "I am uhh, pureblood like you. But my parents are odd enough to live as muggles. They were fascinated by muggle life as much as I'm fascinated by your glasses." He couldn't believe those words actually slipped out of his mouth, that he was fascinated by the girl's glasses. He thought that he really need to get ready to be ditched by her, he just hoped that Destiny wouldn't take it insulting or something.
o.O
Did she just say that books were stupid? That was utterly preposterous! He has loved books so much. But not librarians, he abhor them. But since it was Professor Kapoor that was serving as the librarian this term, he would start to like librarians. And why 'Oww'? Wasn't it nice to be pinched by him? And ooh, her cheeks were getting a teensy bit reddish, he would like to pinch her more to make her blush even more but he realized a moment after that she just turned red because of the pinch itself. Hehe.
"I'm not getting sick. This cold is quite odd. The least I expect it, the greater the possibility that it'll attack. It's like the cold is saving me not to smell something stinky..." Hmmm.

Oh. "Sorry ma'am," He didn't really expect that. It was embarrassing to make even just a small error and undoubtedly, he blamed Destiny for unfailingly distracting him or well, he'd just blame the goggle glasses. THREE (3): Your path will entice you to be both spontaneous and creative, to live your life with joy and imagination. You will learn the benefits of optimism and enthusiasm, and how to express your emotions and exuberance. Once you've mastered these concepts, you'll move on to the next phase - inspiring others. You're a born communicator and your wit and lightheartedness will help others see the joy in any situation. Artistic, creative, and articulate are words to describe someone with a 3 Life Path. Career/vocation options should relate to anything artistic - writing, speaking, designing, illustrating, dancing, etc.
She got the number 11. So does that mean she doesn't need to reduce it to a a single digit anymore, "Professor, the result is 11. So, I don't need to reduce it anymore to 2?" Sophia asked.

A minute later...
"So, what do you think 'bout this Des?"
Destiny had no idea where Cedric wanted to accompany her too. Someplace she had never heard of, no doubt. "Well. I would have to ask my parents and stuff before I go anywhere." Especially with a stranger. Her parents would kill her for even asking probably. She laughed when he mentioned getting her hair braided. Had he not seen how short her hair was? "My hair is short. They will have a hard time trying to braid it." she said and then ran a hand through it. Yeah, it was short. Another glance at his hair and she came to the conclusion that it did look natural. No product in it whatsoever. Unless..there was product in it. The only way to make sure would be to touch and..and she was NOT going to ask. Nope.
He was a..pureblood? Well, that just proves it. Destiny has no idea what she is talking about. Next time, she should just keep quiet and not assume things. People could easily assume she was a muggle-born with that telliewission in her home. "My parents are fascinated with muggles, too! That was the reason my father decided to get a telliewission!" And..huh? Her glasses were fascinating? Okay..what was she supposed to say back to that? "Well..they help me see. So that is fascinating, I guess." she said shaking her head. Of all the things to be fascinated by..
She was slightly scared that he would pinch her cheek again. Or, instead of pinching the same one, he would pinch the other one. She would then look like she just came in from the snow..and there wasn't even snow outside! It was still hot out! It was still hot out.. Destiny didn't understand why Cedric was so cold. He had his robes on, and they should have been enough to keep him warm. She blinked at what he said about the cold. It was going to attack him? "How do you know it will attack? Can you see it!?" Merlin, she wanted to see it too! It was an attacking, saving cold. Like a superhero! But..saving him from something stinky? Destiny took a big sniff in, and she couldn't smell anything. "What's so stinky?"
That was a serious question.
She watched and waited patiently as Cedric fixed what he had messed up on. Who would have thought one little mistake could cause your life to be DOOMED!? Definitely not Destiny. Raising a brow at the name he had called her she moved closer to his parchment. Hmm..well..this was still wrong. "I'm not creative. Unless you consider these to be creative." she gestured to her glasses. "But they shouldn't count, because I didn't make them myself." But it would have been so cool if she had! "Do you think this means acting too? I can do that!"
Yeah. Totally.

A probably awesome idea unexpectedly popped in his mind. What if he invite Destiny to have a vacation with him and with his friends as well? And might as well invite Evelyn! He could already sense that that would be so fun. He could like hire beauty experts to do a general makeover on Destiny, 'cause that's what Prince Charmings do on their princesses b-b-but errr, he wasn't her prince charming. Well, Destiny looked good and the only problem in her whole physical appearance was the goggle glasses itself. And he could just imagine that Destiny would look even more stunning without the glasses on.
Tellewission? Ced sure hadn't heard anything 'bout that thing yet. But it really sounded familiar... "Ahh.." He had figured it out in just a matter of a few seconds. "T-they help you see?" He spluttered, a bit surprised that a pair of odd glasses could actually help her see. And so without the glasses, Destiny would lose her sight? Oh man, that would be awful. He would pity her for that. He felt guilty, now he wouldn't try to ask her to wear it off anymore... and that was promise from a loyal, honest badger like he.
Cedric would like to laugh so hard but he cares about himself deeply and wouldn't want to humiliate himself so... he didn't laugh nor chuckle at all at Destiny's purely hilarious remarks. And he'd known to himself that what he said was a joke. But he was confused now, could cold really attack people? Well, he thought they do.. but yeah, not in the way Destiny had thought. "I uhh, definitely can see it." And he was fooling her again, Hehe. "Look! It's about to attack you. Parry it real quick!" And then he burst out laughing.
He then became suddenly serious because he had been just asked with a very, very serious question that should be answered with picked and proper words and precise explanation! Soo what's so stinky? "Stinky. Very well then, I'll tell you what's SO stinky." He whispered and moved a bit closer to the Slytherin girl. "Don't tell about this to anyone..." or I'll crush you!"When the new professor passed by, I thought I smelled something really, really foul. I thought I smelled a vinegar or a puke maybe. I wonder if the new professor has an athlete's foot." There. Done. Enough for explanation.
Destiny had got to be kidding him! How come that the book's interpretations didn't still match to her personality or life? That was odd.. or Destiny was just pretending that the book didn't match HER own interpretation of her life. And he would try to debate and instil in her mind that the book's interpretation could never be that wrong. "Oh, see? You can act. That's creativeness. And hmm, I wonder if you could dance too. Why not dance in front of the class and show how good you really are?" Maybe she could do the banana dance! YAY!
She was so relieved to see someone that was willing to take a chance on her. She smiled, "Of course, that would be wonderful! I need a partner, but I wasn't sure who to ask to be honest. "Hello Sini..Happy to meet you too." Noir smiled to the girl.."My full name is Canoir Greengrass, December 26th 2059..Okay then I guess we'll start with yours first." Noir pulled out her quill and parchment from her bag and wrote down Sini full name and her birthday..
"Okay..so your Life path number is 2 and your Destiny Number is 5" Noir said to Sini.."I hope i didn't miscalculate..I'm not so good with number" she said to Sini and gave her a weak smile..

She got the number 11. So does that mean she doesn't need to reduce it to a a single digit anymore, "Professor, the result is 11. So, I don't need to reduce it anymore to 2?" Sophia asked.
Walking around the classroom again, Josephina stopped at a young Hufflepuff; she had already checked the work of her partner, so now it was her turn. "Dear? You've made a copying error." It seemed common - especially when students were just starting out in their Arithmancy studies. "You've put 10 as your partner's birthday in your life path calculations, when you wrote their birthday as the 19th."
Ah figures! Classic example of a master number. "Sort of. In the case that you get an 11 - or a 22 or 33 for that matter - then you would leave it as such, but write it as 11/2, as her expression number - or whatever number it happened to be for - would not be the same as an ordinary two."
SPOILER!!: Destiny and Cedric . . .

Upon first passing by that Slytherin girl and Hufflepuff boy, the professor assumed them to be chatting about their numbers / discussing what parts seem accurate or not. But it wasn't until the third or fourth time she glanced at them when she noticed the boy leaning in and WHISPERING!?! Oh no they weren't!!
"Ahem," she cleared her throat lightly, as she approached them and looked at them both. "You both better be talking about the meanings of your numbers, as if you make me stop here again, then it will be twenty points from each of you and detention." For chatting and flirting during class. Shame on them.
Content with herself, she walked away and towards a group just starting on their calculations.

Cadence smiled at the Professor's statement of approval and then sat down next to Simon. "Right, so, let's start from the beginning, okay, Simon?" she said kindly, realizing this would be a true test of whether or not she should continue to consider going into education after Hogwarts. "Why don't we work on the Life Path number first? That one's a bit easier because there are fewer numbers involved. We'll use your information to figure it out, okay? So, when's your birthday, Simon?" she asked, still in the same kind, soft voice.

Sini was relieved that someone else wasn't too sure about this, looking over Noir's work it looked a little crazy to her, but as she continued to follow how the numbers were created and reduced it looked right to her. "I think that's it, I must admit that numbers aren't my strongest ability either." she said this time excited, "I think following how you did that just helped me a lot!"
Starring down at her own paper she saw Noir's full name a birthday and started counting in her head as she jotted down on her parchment. "Okay, let's see if I can get this right..." she said, as if talking to herself this time and started writing intently on her parchment.
"Okay, I think I got it now!" Sini finally said after a lot of muttering to herself, "Life path number is 4 and your Destiny Number is 2, at least I think it is."

She had obviously worked hard on the subject. Because she missed him, and that was her one way of not having to miss him, so much.
"Well, your Life Path Number is three, so your life path is pretty nice. You're an optimistic person, and you have joy, enthusiasm, expression and creativity ahead of you. You can be pretty cheerful, and you should try something that's creative, illustrative or expressive. Something like painting or design or even dance or poetry."
She glanced at the textbook, again. Sneaky-peeky, hehe. "Your Destiny Number's pretty awesome, too," she said, cheerfully.
"Well, according to it, the real purpose of your life is inspiration and elevation. For others. You need to realize that you have lots of powerful qualities and creativity and stuff, and you can put them to good use, utilize them for the good of others. You can lift a soul or spirit, and you'll be able to rise to the challenge, if you try. Leadership, ahead of you, if you can live up to the expectations. Be devoted to the good cause."
She paused, and looked at Iris. "That sounds plenty of fun," she said, cheerfully. "What do my numbers say?"
"]Iris looked at Gold and nodded. Interpreting. Right.
She watched the Prefect as she began to tell her what she thought Iris' life path number meant. So.. She should try something that was creative. Or expressive. "Well... I used to do ballet... and I've just started to learn how to sew. Do they count as something that's creative and illustrative?" Iris frowned slightly as she thought about it. She saw how sewing was creative, but not so much the other two.
As she listened to Gold tell her about her Destiny Number, Iris found herself confused a bit. Lifting soul and spirit? Iris hoped that meant metaphorically, like ... making people happier. Not... actually raising spirits and souls. Either way, she nodded and smiled. Most of it sounded like a pretty good destiny.
"Yeah... It does." Hehe. Iris looked at her book, which truthfully, she didn't know very well, "Okay... You're numbers..."
She flicked to the page with the life path numbers and ran her finger down the page til she got to Golds number, "Well, your Life Path number is Nine..." Iris looked to the book and frowned. She wasn't sure how to 'interpret' it, without just reading the book. "Soooo.... You're someone who, er... Seems to understand everything... or at least, how everything works together." She looked up at Gold with a look that said 'What, exactly, does interconnectedness mean?' before carrying on, "And that you are like, good at healing stuff... But not always medically. Hmm... It says that you're a type of person that heals by really connecting with other people through creative stuff. Like painting." Iris didn't really understand how that was meant to heal someone. Anyways... "So... You would probably do well in a career that was like ... something to do with healing or education. You probably already know that... Like.. maybe subconsiously if you didn't, because I saw you at the Healers booth at that job fair. Hehe." Iris grinned a little as she decided that her interpretation was enough for the Life Path Number.
Then she turned the page to the Destiny Numbers. Eleven. So... Iris' interpretation was going to be very much like Gold's.
LE SIGH.
Interpreting was hard work. But thats why she liked it.
"Well... You, too, have an awesome Destiny Number. And you've got to pretty much do all the stuff I have to, in order to fulfil your destiny path. hehe." She knew that wouldn't be enough for an interpretation, so she looked at the book, and skimmed through the section. "So... You're meant to go into a job that's got leadership in it... Because it says that Number 11's are good leaders. And your a prefect, so your already half way there, in your school career, that is." She smiled at Gold, to show her that Iris thought that being a Prefect was pretty damn cool before carrying on, "and... The book says that " Your job is to rehabilitate, augment, and transform others' lives. Learning to express your teaching ability, rising to the challenge, and stepping into the spotlight will provide opportunity to embrace your destiny. You're destined for inspired leadership. Live up to the demands of devotional living and you shall be the leader your were born to be. " So... I think that means that you're meant to, like... run some kind of business or become REALLY influencial. But if you include the stuff from your Life Path number, then... I reckon it will be something good, like in education or the West End; Y'know... Something that everyone will benefit positively from. I don't see you going into leadership in the Ministry... Because there's no creativity there. It's just... Telling Wizarding Britain what to do. And even if you got there, you wouldn't be fulfilling all of your destiny number, because it isn't, in my eyes, a creative career, and not all Ministers lead for the better, either."
Iris basically thought that Gold would end up becoming a Head Teacher and completely improving a school into something amazing, or taking over the West End, or the Wizarding equivalent, so as to 'heal people' with the Arts. hehe.
That was a lot of talking for Iris. 'Specially seeing as though she doesn't know Gold very well.
Oh no! Crying! Tears! Didn't this boy know that there was no crying in baseball Arithmancy!? Seriously.
"It's not worth tears over, Mr Simpson," she shook her head, speaking softly now, as she conjured a handkerchief for him. She was sooo not good with tears, unless they were her own and it was because she failed everything, but that was another story . . .
She was about to sit and explain it to him, as she did with Amy, when . . .
"That would be lovely. Thank you Cadence," Fina nodded at the girl, encouraging him to sit with her housemate and explain it more slowly.
Simon looked at the Professor She was a meany He thought to himself as he took the handkerchief and wiped away his tears, he looked up and saw a Hufflepuff girl near the Professor, he couldn't remember if he had met her before or not but he decided to sit next to her anyway like the Professor wanted him to.

"Why don't we work on the Life Path number first? That one's a bit easier because there are fewer numbers involved. We'll use your information to figure it out, okay? So, when's your birthday, Simon?" she asked, still in the same kind, soft voice.
"EEK" Simon wasn't thinking straight at that moment and was wondering why she wanted to know when his birthday was. "Why do you want to know when my birthday..." Simon started to say then stopped. "Oh yeah right." He smiled at the girl. "it's the 1/5/2060." Simon said as he wrote it down on the paper in front of him.
Dude. The Pensevies aint got nothing on you. Aslan is the God

"Yes, as Alexandrie said, the reason why M is 4 is because we use the Pythagorean Number system which gives each letter of the alphabet a numerical value from one to nine." She reiterated, her hand on her hip. No point in showing her the text, since Ms Alexandrie Malfoy-Lupin took it upon herself to show her that too. Sigh.
Oh, I got it now, Amy said, happily, finally understanding, thank you proffessor thank you, um, sorry I don't know your name, she said to the person who had just explained to her why M was 4

Cadence continued to smile kindly at the boy as he continued to freak out. When he finally realized what she was asking and wrote down his birthday, though, she looked at the numbers. "Good! You actually have a really easy birthday to do this with, Simon!" she said, touching him comfortingly on the back. "So what you want to do is treat the month number, the day number, and the year as though they're each separate parts of a math problem," she explained and wrote out the numbers underneath what he had written.

Cadence smiled at the boy. "Well, actually, I was asking you to simplify just the year. See, these marks," she said, pointing to the parentheses, "keep the different pieces separate. So, can you add just the numbers inside these parentehses together for me?" She said, pointing to the 2+0+6+0.

Simon looked at Candence. "I'm awefull at this." He sighed, "I'll never be able to do this." Simon was really sad but decided to gived it ago anyway, he'd got it wrong so many times before what difference would getting it wrong again make.

Simon hoped that he was right because if not well they didn't want to know what would happen if he was wrong.

When he made a mistake, she opened her mouth to correct him, but he had already caught himself. "See! You're starting to see your mistakes on your own! That means you're getting better!" she said happily.
"Good, so now, here's what we have."

"To do the next step, all you have to do is add the 3 numbers together," she explained pointing to each number in turn.

Simon looked at the numbers and did what Candence said.

"So the answe is 14?" Simon asked suddenly. "But how on earth is that right, how do you go from the 1/5/2060 to 14?" it was impossible right, well Simon thought it was anyway.

Cadence nodded at Simon and smiled encouragingly. "Now, there's one more step, and then I'll go back and explain the how part, okay?" she said, giving the paper another tap. "To get your final number, you need to simplify the number 14 by adding to the two integers, or numbers, 1 and 4," she explained as she wrote another step under the answer he had just written.

"My dear!" Josephina hurried over to another pairing, this one of a Gryffindor and a Ravenclaw. "You've made a minor error in your addition. You should reduce all components first to a single digit, which you forgot to simplify her day. So the second number should reduce to a 6, which would bring the sum of your reduced digits to 18, which reduces to 9, as her life path." She nodded at the girl.

Watching the girl fix a minor spelling error in her partner's name, she shook her head.
"You should separate out which numbers are for each name. For if you did that then you would see that the numbers in Katherine reduce to 1, whereas the numbers in Pots reduce to 7, which would mean your final answer is different than what you got. Try it again and you'll see what I mean," Fina nodded at the girl encouragingly.
Bella listened to the Professor as she corrected her on her errors. Looking down a her work she chewed her bottom lip. Picking up her quill she tried again.
Quote:
April 24th 2060
4/24/2060
4+6+2+0+6+0
=18
Life Path number=9
Bella smiled at her work. Next she began on her other error:
Quote:
KATHERINE POTS
2+1+2+8+5+9+9+5+5 7+6+2+1
=46+16=62
=6
She smiled down at her work, lifting her hand she said.

Simon looked at Cadence. "Okay, if you say so." His mind had gone blank with all the numbers, he would be seeing numbers for the next few weeks or so he though.
Quote:
1+4=5
Simon looked at Cadence. "So the answer is 5?" All that he wanted to do at the moment was sleep. How was people suppost to use numbers when they were so many different things to do with numbers, Whoever invented numbers was dumb Simon thought to himself. "So how did we get all the way down to 5?"

Cadence smiled brightly at Simon and patted him on the back. "That's right, Simon! So your Life Path Number is 5!" she said, feeling very proud of him. Now, though, she had to attempt to explain to him how they did this. If she could do that, then she most definitely needed to go into teaching because this was going to be hard to put into words. Taking a deep breath, she opened her textbook to use it for support. "Right, so, what this is is what the book calls the addition method of reducing. So, normally we would read this number as two thousand sixty, right? But in the study of Arithmancy, we look at this number as a combination of each individual digit. So, we have to look at it as 2+0+6+0. Does that make sense?" she asked, hoping she was explaining this okay.
