Arithmancy Lesson One: Back to Basics The Arithmancy classroom has been set up in such a way where all the desks form a half-circle, with Professor Hadley sitting on her desk in the middle/front of the room. She is thumbing though A Look Into The Future, but sets it aside once the first student arrives. "Please, take any seat. We will begin as soon as everyone arrives." OOC: Class has officially begun. Anyone who announces their late arrival from this point onward will be subjected to point loss and/or detention about tardiness. Thank you for your cooperation <3 *** Summation of Lesson (So Far) Initial Introduction Post Arithmancy is . . . /What are the core numbers? (Here) Calculating a partner's (that your character doesn't know!) Life Path and Expression Numbers Advice on calculating numbers another OOC note: I'm off for about two hours. Wrap up your calculations and I will be back in about two hours [from the time of this edit] to wrap up this lesson and post the homework. <3 Extra reminder: There is a textbook available in this forum for reference, called Arithmancy Textbook. Use it. Love it. In particular, pay special attention to posts 3, 7, and 8 in the textbook, for now anyway. |
Herminny made her way to Arithmancy which was one of her favorite subject. She happilly waltzed in and saw that one of the new proffessors which was a little off putting. She walked over to professor and said, "Good day professor", and took a seat. She was sure even with a new professor she was in for a good lesson. |
Emma walked into the almost empty classroom with her bag slung on her shoulder. Emma nodded her head, "Good Morning Professor Hadley. I'm Emma Malfoy." introduced Emma, placing her things at a table and unpacking them. |
'Good afternoon, Proffessor Hadley. I'm Madeline Force' smiled Maddie as she walked into thr classroom and found a seat next to Emma. She sat down, and set out her quill, inkpot and notebook. There. Ready for class! |
Rhea walked purposefully into class. She had her Arithmancy book tucked under her arm and a bright smile on her face. It had never been her best subject but this year she was going in with an open mind. "Hello professor Hadley" she said brightly. She continued to the second row and sat and watched as the other students filed into class. Yep the beginning of a whole new attitude to Arithmancy. |
Victoria walked in and glanced around the room. She noticed the professor and timidly walked over to her. "Hello, Professor Hadley...my name is Victoria Rogers." Then, she put her stuff on a table and began to take out her items for class. |
Arithmancy! Smiling, Evelyn skipped her way into the classroom before suddenly backtracking out the door and composing herself. That was a horrible entrance to the classroom and...slightly embarrassing so she had to get her face back to it's normal color. Who knew skipping made you arrive faster to class than walking did... Clearing her throat, she walked into the classroom again, and smiled slightly at the, new, Professor. "Good day, Professor." she mumbled before taking a seat. Wait, they had a new professor? Pssh, where was Professor Shackleton? Meh! |
Nice!subject alert! Gold skipped into the classroom, pretty ready for the lesson and, slowing down as she entered, gave Professor Hadley a cheerful, but clearly polite, smile. "Good day, professor," she said, with a little nod she was not aware she had just given, for no real reason whatsoever. "I'm sure I'll have lots of fun." AND! Semi-circle arrangement, for the desks! Gold liked that. The Gryffindor did her best to walk, and not skip, over to the nearest one, and took a seat. Now to waiiit. |
Bella walked into the classroom, a small smile playing on her face. She looked around to see if any of her friends had made it to the class yet. None that she could see. Sighing she walked forward to take a seat. Pulling out a book she began to read. |
Urrh.. Arithamancy. There was nothing like a confused muddle of numbers in yer head to make you feel right fick. Still, Oliver smiled brightly at the professor as he wandered into the classroom and took a seat next to the fiery headed Gryffindor Prefect. He opened his textbook and began scanning the pages. A frown of confusion clouded his expressive face. Urrrh. Muggle Maths was easier than this. |

Etoile Noticed that Maddie and Emma where already in the class room. "Hi there, Professor Hadley. I'm Etoile, Etoile Mouchard." She walked to where her friends were sitting and sat down on Emma's other side. She took out her quill, notebook, and the Arithmancy book she had found the day before. she was so exited to start this class! |
Simon entered the Arithmancy class."Good day Professor Hadley.I'm Simon Franchot." he said clearly , as he made his way to the empty chair he noticed. |
Delilah walked in the classroom. She decided to introduce herself to Professor Hadley by saying, "Hello Professor. My name's Delilah Marshall." She saw an empty seat next to a Ravenclaw boy who looked her age. She walked over and said "Hi. Do you mind if i sit here?" |
Sidney makes her way to the classroom. So many new professor, the poor girl is having trouble keeping up with their names. Sidney stops by her desk and smiles. "Hello, I'm Sidney Marlowe- Hufflepuff second year. It's a pleasure to meet you." After meeting Professor Lefay, Sidney hopes this professor is at least human. No parchments spread all over the desk, and she's not taking notes. That's a good sign. I don't know why, but I can't shake the feeling Professor Lefay wasn't ignoring me when she continued to write things down on her parchment. Why am I always on someone's hit list before classes even start? |
Trixie walked into the Arithmancy classroom. It certainly wasn't her favourite lesson in Beauxbatons but hey she was willing to give this proffessor a chance to convert her. "Good Morning Professor. I'm Trixie Malfoy" she declared with her charming Veela smile. She spotted her younger cousin Emma in the corner. "Hey Em" she grinned at her but decided that she probably shouldn't go over to her seeing as there was a load of younger years around. So she sat down in the corner in one of the seats and waited for the lesson to start tapping her Quill. She was bored already and the lesson hadn't even started yet. |

Arithmancy. Yes, now that was a subject she had missed. Last term she hadn't really gasped the subject as she did first year, but she only hoped that was a fluke. It was a new term afterall and she would at least make a better attempt at applying herself from the get go. Walking in the fairly empty classroom, she headed toward the left portion of the half-circle. "Good day, Professor," she smiled as she settled into her seat. She hadn't official met the new professor, but she did look to be very nice from what she had seen and heard. There were so many new additions to the staff and all, it might be difficult to keep it all straight, but she would try her best to keep up with it all. |

Melissa walked into the Arithmancy class and saw that the desks were in a half-circle. Cool, now to greet Professor Hadley. "Hello Professor Hadley," she beamed at her before spotting Bella, who was reading a book, and went to sit next to her on a desk. She had no idea if she saw her and she didn't risk talking, not after that meeting. She must keep the chatting to a minimum and to succeed that easily was to not open your mouth. |
Iris walked into Arithmancy happily, it being her favourite subject. She popped her head around the door first, only to see that the desks were in a half circle. There were already people there. She walked into the room and smiled at the Professor. Wow, she looked pretty young. "'Morning Professor." She said to her cheerfully, before going to find a seat. The fourth year chose to sit away from everyone else, leaving space for her friends if they were going to come to the class. |
Okay, so this was good. Arithmancy was something Abby liked. Not necessarily excelled at, but liked. It wasn't downright interesting. But nice. Math, numbers, WOOT. She walked into the classroom, books in hand. "Good day, professor," she said brightly to the woman. Erm, she had forgotten her name. Must check schedule! Making her way through the room, Abby picked a seat near and around people. There was no one she recognized, but might as well. Might as well. What was the sense in sitting alone like some sort of freak? She set down her book and pulled out the schedule that was sticking out of its pages. Hadley. That was her name. |
