Her face fell when her friend shook her head no to the question. She really missed her wand, and couldn't think as to what had happened to it.

Well atleast they wern't using them in class yet. Taking out a piece of parchement and her quill, she began to take notes.

"Erm. I rmrmber reading that Hagrid when he first went to get the great Harry Potter to take him to Hogwarts partially turned Harry's insolent cousin Dudley into a pig in that he caused him to sprout a pig tail which is said to be quite painful though sounds to me that would be quite a funny site especially from what I've read about this Dudley.", Herminny said with a chuckle.

"Right again!" Mildred smiled proudly at the correct answers. They apparently paid good attention in History of Magic! "By transfiguring his upper half into that of a shark, Mister Krum was able to breathe freely under water, yes yes."

OH! Another good example!

"You know your history well!" Mildred exclaimed with a giggle, feeling a little more cheerful now. "A good example of using human transfiguration for more negative reasons."

"Human transfiguration is the probably the most complex type of transfiguration there is," the Professor explained, caution in her voice, "if performed wrongly.. well, the consequences aren't always pretty." They were good at concentrating though, and she was here to assist!

"We'll begin with something a little more simpler than transfigurating part of ourselves into that of an animal," she explained clearly with a clap of her hands. "Concentrate. Concentrate on your favourite fruit or vegetable."

HEHEHEHE.

Hmm, seemed like the Professor was becoming her old self again. Eh.

Something simpler than transfiguring part of themselves into an animal? So...they were going to transfigure themselves into fruits and vegetables?! That made no sense. Shaking her head at her ridiculous idea, knowing full well that her face might have turned a nice shade of red since now she felt stupid, Evelyn started to concentrate on her favorite fruit.

Strawberries, of course. Who didn't like them?! Besides, she probably looked like one now...

Gold raised a hand. Better late than never, right? Right. "Professor, I've read that Harry Potter transfigured a moustache on to his face, in a Transfiguration lesson. In his sixth year, I think. Would that count as an instance of partial, human transfiguration?"

Fruit or... veggie?

Gold blinked, then actually found that she wanted to laugh. The fact that this was Transfiguration class made her think of a potato instead of her head - not that the potato was her favourite veggie - and her lips suddenly twitched into something of a grin.

Now, what was her favourite fruiiit?

She could not decide, not really. She liked chicken, and could only think of meaty foods, right now. She gave an inward shrug, then picked a fruit she rather liked. The Cherry.

Hehe.

Eww.

Favorite vegetable? Who in their right mind liked them?

Fruit were a different story though. Destiny did like some fruit. She was going to pick the watermelon, but changed her mind at the last minute. There was no way she was going to transfigure into a watermelon. Big watermelon..

Instead, she would pick the orange. The seedless kind though. She didn't like those seeds..

Oh rats, they were only changing into fruits or vegetables, well that was boring.

She looked around the room wondering what everyone would be thinking about then started to laugh when she seen Kay. If Rex was in class he would probably think about her then he would end up looking like her cuz well....everyone knew Kay was already a fruit. Yes she was.

She closed her eyes and thought about apples. The red kind, no sour green ones for her.

Favourite fruit or vegetable? Weird. But being able to partially transfigure himself into an animal sounded like the most amazing thing ever, so if he had to take it step at a time he would definitely do so. Hmm, I guess I like blackberries pretty well...

Hmm... what was his favorite fruit? Strawberries. Yup. And now he started thinking about them. After a few minutes he really, really wanted some.

Oh, he nearly forgot. Marie had asked him if he had Destiny's wand still. He hadn't had the chance to answer earlier because the Professor began the lesson. But he started to dig in his pocket for it while thinking of strawberries.

Fruit or Veggie?

Were they going to transfigure themselves into fruits????

Ivory felt a funny feeling in the pit of her stomach. Excitement but fear as well. One of her favorite fruits was a peach...peaches didn't have any appendages...how would she be able to change herself back? Would she be a giant peach??? What if she couldn't control herself and ended up rolling and crushing everyone??? Or maybe she'd be a little one?? What if she rolled under a desk or shelf and then be lost forever??

Her eyes wide with all the 'What if' scenarios she waited for the next directions while biting her thumb nail.

Kumquats! Was this really something they should be concentrating on? It was an odd coincidence. Daphne hadn't even seen a kumquat in months, making her the quit pitiful student and now she was supposed to think conjure a mental picture of it. Even with her eyes closed, the blond raised a disbelieving and impatient brow; a perfectly groomed brow at that.

Kumquat. Oh, delicious Kumquat. Candied Kumquat? Was that allowed to be concentrated on? Obviously, candied Kumquat did not grow on trees or bushes or grew inside soil like a potato; however it was a kumquat when it came down to it.

Candied kumquat...she hadn't had that in months either.

Professor Pilliwickle smiled around the room, glad to see the look of concentration upon all the little faces around her. Now this was where the fun started..

"When you can picture that fruit or vegetable clearly in your mind, its wands at the ready!" Mildred giggled, raising her own wand and directing it right at one ear. She was picturing her own favourite PURPLE fruit. The plum. HEHE.

"Now, if it's a VEGGIE you're concentrating on, the incantation for you is Vegetabilis Verto! And if it's a FRUIT?"

Wait for iiiiiit...

"Fructus Verto!" With a light swish of her wand, and a small puff of purple smoke, Professor Pilliwickle showed off the plums she was now sporting as ears. Her hearing was a bit muffled but she could still hear her shrill giggles. Plum ears always cheered her up.

"Think you can all manage that? Concentrate. Swish of the wand. Clear incantation. You can practice on your ears or your noses. Bananas make good noses if I do say so myself."

That looked like fun! Carter concentrated on strawberries and his nose. With a swish of his wand he said the incantation, "Fructus Verto!".

Mmmm... he smelled strawberries.

"Oh, here's your wand back Destiny." he said turning around and handing it to her while sporting his strawberry nose.

Whaaaat in the world?

The professor had plum ears. PLUM ears. That was not normal, nor was it amusing. Well on the professor it was amusing, but Evelyn was not about to turn her own ears or nose into strawberries, no matter how much she liked them.

Scooting down in her seat, she looked around, already spotting Carter with a strawberry nose. That looked incredibly weird.

Pfft, she thought they were going to learn about animagi or something of that nature. Not, fruit and vegetable ears and noses. Well, no matter. This would surely give her a laugh. Smirking, she turned her head to stare at Destiny. Juuust...waiting...

...Er.

Raiden had been thinking about apples, but... one hand touched the cat ears he still had.

This was... not going to end well. Surely his body was going to reject all these weird transfigurations. His ears might even explode or something. He glanced around the class uneasily before sinking down a little bit in his seat.

Maybe he should be glad that the potion accident hadn't done to him what they were all about to do to themselves.

Whaaaaat?

The Professor had plum ears! How in the name of Merlin is she supposed to hear now? Unless she still could hear..but Destiny doubted that. She could barely hear when she had normal ears..

Raising her hand, Destiny mouthed a few words acting like she had a question, she just didn't let any sound come out.

It was funny to mess with Professor Periwinkle Pickle Person..

Turning ever so slow to face Carter, Destiny leaned back a bit when she a wand pointed at her. Seriously? He was going to hex her!? In front of a Professor!? She could still see..

Oh. It was only her wand. HER WAND! Merlin, she had missed it so much. Twice this term it was lost..and she always seemed to get it back in this class..strange. Grabbing the wand from Carter's hand, she flicked his strawberry nose with her free hand.

She was hoping it would fall off.

Now that she was reunited with her wand, she could work. Concentrating on an orange, an orange.. Good thing she didn't pick the watermelon. The weight of the melon would make her ears droop. Pointing her wand at her left ear, 'Fructus Verto!'

'Did it work Evelyn!?' Destiny was scared to touch it..

As Ivory listened intently to the a little more upbeat Professor Pilliwickle she couldn't help smiling. Glad to have the Hogwarts Granny back.

Wait...why was she pointing her wand at her ear...

Oooh. OH!

And with that Ivory began to giggle. Giggle quite loudly especially when she heard the Professor's similar giggles.

Deciding it couldn't be all that bad, she said the incantation for fruits a few times in her head. Fructus Verto...Froooctus Verto...Fruuuhctus VErto...Fructus Verto...

She struggled a few moments as she decided where she wanted on what syllable she wanted to place the emphasis so that it sounded and flowed better. Once she had that down, she moved on to the wand movement.

Unholstering her wand, her eyes catching the small blue flame gratefully, she swished it this way and that as she looked around to see how others were doing.

Peach nose??? Peach ears???

Swish...swish....

Evelyn snickered when she saw Destiny flick Carter's strawberry nose, making her shoulders shake in the process since she was trying to be quiet and not be noticed. She didn't want to have to do this spell...

Finally able to control herself, she looked back over to Destiny, and there was only a split moment where she had a serious expression on her face before she burst out laughing.

Rather loudly too.

"Des...dest-" she couldn't even say her friend's name through the laughing and giggling. "Oh dear MERLIN. You look..." Ridiculous!! She couldn't say that to her friend though, that would be incredibly mean.

But so was laughing....BAHAHAHAHAHA!

As delicious as kumquats were and as eager as Daphne was to participate in class this was just not something she was going to do. She didn't quite fancy turning her ears into her favorite fruit, thanks.

It wasn't a matter of fact of whether she could manage alright or not. It was. Just. Not. Happening.

We're not turning our ears into kumquats. Professor, Ma'am.

With that in mind, Daphne allowed her raised brow to just stick there and risk the possibility of a passing wind rendering her with face paralysis. "Raiden," voiced Daphne resolutely. "Why don't we turn your big toes into kumquats?"

Um, what? She wanted him to turn his ears or nose into a blackberry? Kellen glanced around the classroom, a part of him wondering what else he'd been expecting. With a small sigh he pointed his wand at his ears, "Fructus Verto!"

Don't eat the ears. Do. Not. Eat the ears. If anyone conjured fruit bats right now they were all going to end up in the hospital.

Hearing loud laughter, Ivory turned towards the sound and smiled....and then...giggled...and then well snorted a bit.

Oh it was just too funny. Destiny had oranges for ears!

Clutching her sides which she realized hurt more then just regular laughter should, she twirled her wand between her fingertips.

That had been a bit mean...and maybe she should give other people a chance to laugh at her now.

Alright...peach nose. Peach for a nose. Nose that was a peach. Peach. Peach!

Concentrating on her nose proved to be quite difficult and involved a bit of a cross-eyed look that she was sure looked ridiculous, but hey at least she could see the upturned tip of it.

Peach. Peach. Peach. Peach nose. Peach.

Aiming the fiery tip of her wand at her nose, she gave it a little swish.
Fructus Verto!"

Looking at her target proved to be too much. Being cross-eyed was annoying. How was she supposed to know if it worked.

Bringing her hand up she felt the top of her forehead where her nose began.

Hmm...so far ...nothing. Flat..ridge...straight nose, smooth skin... upward tip...fuzzy...

FUZZY?

Frantically feeling the tip of her nose, she realized that the tip was completely round with a tiny little stem and two tiny leaves protruding from it as well.

Oh why oh why couldn't she have just turned her whole nose...and not partially like this. Now she was..Ivory...the Peach-nosed First-year.

Looking down her nose cross-eyed, she inadvertently began humming 'Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer.'

...Daphne?!

Raiden's big green eyes turned on her, obviously not excited over her suggestion.

"Why don't we not," he whispered, sitting up a little more as his feet retreated beneath his seat, where the were less likely to become the victim of any wayward, ill-intended fruit-ifying spells. "I've already got kneazle ears and a crup tail, I dunno if kumquat toes will help me to maintain the small amount of dignity I've left."

His eyes landed on her feet and he pointed at them.

"Why don't we do yours?"

It seemed a few of the students weren't willing to transfigure themselves. Well, that would just not do!!

She was wearing plums for ears and she simply would not rest until they were all FRUITY with her!

"Come on!" She exclaimed, louder than needed because of her muffled plum hearing. "Or I'll have to do it for you!" And she WOULD.

"No offense, Raiden," began Daphne arching both brows this time. "After all, I do fancy you a lot," continued the blond placing a hand delicately on her chest. "But dignity? Please let's not pretend you know what that is this term. You might as well adopt fruit digits. At least that part of you won't be susceptible to fleas."

Clearing her throat, Miss Hopton pretended Raiden hadn't spoken at all and pulled out her wand. From the corner of her eyes, she kept Professor PickledHamWhatever at bay.

Her fingers and toes would remain made of flesh and bone thank you. If that woman so came near her she was going to scream ASSAULT AND HARASSMENT.

Ouch, Daphne. Ouch.

Raiden's face turned pink and he slid down into his chair again, his feet remaining under his seat and his knees jutting out awkwardly. Dignity. He really didn't have any at all this term, and apparently everyone knew it. But... no. His toes would remain toes.

"I do not have fleas," he said flatly, hoping... that the professor would be far too distracted with everyone else to notice that he wasn't doing this whole fruit thing. He had his wand out and everything, so maybe he could just... pretend that he was doing something. "And I'd rather keep my toes the way they are... They've already been transfigured once this term."
