Kylie smiled, she liked this Professor. She waved her wand as her Professor had done, she visualized a rainbow of brightly colored butterflies coming straight from her wand, "Papilio." She said calmly. When she did spells calmly they tended to produce better results. The simple spell was a breeze as a swarm of beautiful butterflies, a range of colors, came from her wand. They flew around and rested on her arms and hair. Kylie giggled. She couldn't help it. They were kind of cute. |

Katie smiled brightly in a way of greeting William. She had missed him quite a lot, but catching up would have to wait until later when they weren't in the middle of class. "Legend happened." She replied to his question, as if that said everything and should make all the sense in the world. To her, it really did. Oh yes, he didn't do a thing. It just so happened his butterfly was the only to be a mutant out of too many others to count, because that made sense. Right? Pshhh. "Perhaps next time you could refrain from screaming the incantation and speak like a normal human being, and then maybe - just maybe, you'll have a normal sized butterfly." MAYBE. Katie still had her doubts. At his remark she lowered her tone a tiny bit, still completely calm - or as calm as Katie could be, anyway, as she responded as if answering someones question and not sort of bickering. "Better to be a girly, butterfly loving weirdo than a mountain board riding, dirt loving boy." "Hey!" Katie 'HMMPH'ed, eyeing Legend as he handled the poor twitchy thing that should have been an equally beautiful, graceful flying color fluttering around the room with the others. "I didn't mean it as 'will it work to shrink it with a spell' I meant it as asking permission! Seeing how it is Professor Pilliwickle's classroom and she told us to practice a certain spell, which was not that. It seemed more proper and polite to ask first," The brunette clarified sharply, not at all appreciating the manner Legend spoke to her in. As if she were dumb! HMMPH. Walking back to her desk beside the two boys Katie slipped back into her seat, the white butterflies she had conjured returned to her but what surprised her were the blue ones, darker than her pure snow white ones but lighter than several other blue butterflies she had seen other students conjure. Katie gasped, her face lighting up. "They're so pretty!" She gushed to Will in a hushed voice, not wanting to scare the butterflies away. A giggle escaped her slightly parted lips, watching them near her. "You did a good job, William." Legend's was, surprisingly, back to a more usual butterfly-size. It was like going from beast to beauty in the matter of minutes, and it still made a point of disappointing him. It came to her, just like Will's had. Katie grinned, "You only say that because it left you. And it's pretty now, you did good too." Now, she wanted to try another color. With her butterflies she hadn't really thought of one particular color, and wasn't disappointed to have the pure white ones. But Professor Pilliwickle said to practice, so practice she would. Getting a better grip of her wand, Katie gave it a wave. "Papilio!" Nothing. The young Hufflepuff blinked, confused as to how that could be. She'd done it two out of three or four times just fine. "Papilio!" Although the two brown butterflies that flew from her wand tip were nice, they weren't the bright, vivid red that had been the image in Kaitlynnh's head. She frowned at them. The wand waving, she thought, was fine. . but then what was she doing wrong? Glancing to the side at Legend, Katie's attention shifted back onto the brown butterflies. Hmm, maybe it was Legend and his bad butterfly energy messing her up. Yeah, that was it. |
Daniel was concentrating with his spell and then gasped, signaling he was ready. He did the wand movement and uttered the incantation, "Papilio" in a matter of seconds, beautiful red-gold and green-silver butterflies came flying from his wand. |

Concentrating as hard as he possibly could, he said "Papilio" and a cloud of butterflies appeared above their heads. White-letter Hairstreaks, Wall Brown, Small Skipper, Scotch Argus', Ringlet, and Purple Emperor butterflies flittered around their heads. He smirked at Lexi and said, "Right, what's next. I'm bored now." |
Barry smilled. He loved practical stuff. Especially spells. He rised straight away and got out his wand and said "Papilo" Then nothing happened. Why was nothing happening? He had to concentrate, meh, he didn`t want to. This time Barry closed his eyes and thought of blue butterflies. "Papilo" This time six or seven butterflies fluttered out his wand. Barry beamed. "Wait were supposed to name them?" Barry looked around and saw someone he knew "They can be.... Cela!" Maybe that wasn`t the best choice |
Cela turned her head to one side, overhearing Barry speak. She gave him a small smile, eyed the butterfly and then cast another herself, sending it fluttering at him. |
Hayden was so excited. Transfiguration. She'd waited for the last 11 years to be in this class and Prof. Pilliwickle seemed so nice. Alright Hayden, focus, she thought. "Papilo." Nothing happened, why didn't anything happen? Hayden thought panicking slightly. Calming down she tried again. "Papilo." "Moths," she cried, "Moths, i was supposed to be producing Butterflies, not Moths." Hayden sighed, raising her hand to see if the proffesor could help her out. |
Once more. By now, there were half a dozen butterflies in his immediate vicinity. Two red, two blue, one green, and one light, pale yellow one. He was getting closer. Why would the things not come out orange like he wanted them to? Frustrated, Raiden flicked his wand once more, performing the motion with a little more force than intended. The resulting butterfly was purple. WHY WAS IT PURPLE. He twitched, flinching slightly in surprise when one of the butterflies came too close and brushed against his face. Stupid... non-orange... colours. He'd had enough. Seven butterflies were enough. Seven of them, and not ONE orange one. Guh. |
So, it make it look Annie that a little bit more concentrating would be needed at this assigment in class. That though came when she noticed that her classmates conjured more than her eight blue-purple butterflies and had different colours as well. She sighed and closed her eyes, and with a deep breath she began to think of more prettier colours, other than the ones she already loved. That's when she remembered that beautiful park she visited at Mexico with her aunt Maria and grandmother, where a bunch of butterflies were resting on the tree leaves and the tree itself, looked all amazing, pretty and unbelievable. Geez, that had been quite a trip. The colours of the butterflies were sand yellow with lots of black lines along the wings. Those, just made her memory become a little more vivid, too cute and worth the try to practice with the spell they were learning in class. With a deep breath, Annie swished and flicked her wand and clearly said, "Papilio!" and in seconds, twelve precious butterflies of that same colour she imagined appeared. It was worth a tear or two. Annie had a good inspiration time at that moment...Snif snif... |
Tori who was quietly taking notes during class, was now going to try the spell. She waved her wand and said, "Papilio.". Almost instantly glassy looking, teal coloured butterflies began to flutter around her. She remembered that her mother loved the colour. Tori smiled up at the fluttering creatures. One settled on her head, while another landed on the tip of her wand."Wooow." she breathed just above a whisper. |
Lenalee was thrown by the sheer difference between the last Professor she had seen and this one. 'A bit like walking from the war zone into a tea and cake shop. Of course, sometimes those could be war zones as well.' She wasn't one for answering questions or speaking up in class so she simply took note of the contents of the lesson with emphasis on the correct answers. Before long it was time for the practical portion. Internally she scoffed that they would be conjuring butterflies to doll up the place. But she knew it was important somehow to her learning, or at the very least to not lose house points for Slytherin. So with that thought in mind she remembered with clarity the butterfly she had seen this summer feasting on a fallen peach fruit. She remembered it strange appearance, it looked like a leaf that was going brown. The edges of it's wings were sharp and ragged to her eyes but the top of the wings were quite pretty, a mix of orange-brown and black stripes. Like a tiger. "Pah-pee-leo!" She said clearly with her eyes still closed, focusing on the image and her magic. She startled when she felt something land on the tip of her nose. She smiled when she saw the rather less pretty butterfly then most of the others in this room. 'It has more character!' She thought in it's defense as it unfurled it's tongue and tasted her nose. She chuckled and it flew away, landing on her quill. She then conjured a few more butterflies that settled on top of her golden hair. A common blue, a gatekeeper, and an Orange tip. They all had special meaning for her. |
Okay, there were too many butterflies in the room at the moment! She couldn't handle all the...the...cuteness of them! Ugh! They were too, pretty!, and small. Even the ugly ones she had to admit held some interest from her. Deciding to just stare at her desk so she didn't have to see all the colors, one in particular landed on her desk. One of the pink butterflies she conjured. Pink...Ew-ith. Though, looking closer at it, she noticed that instead of the lines at the tip of the wing she thought were yellow, they were in fact gold. And sparkly. Seriously? Why would she create a butterfly that was pink and sparkly gold? Snickering though, she nudged Destiny's side, pointing to the butterfly. "Think I'll name that one Bunz." Evelyn mumbled, looking back to the pink horror...before flicking it off the table. Teehee. |
Kay watched as the other were doing very well. She shakes her head giggles a little. This was fun and she liked butterflies. want color thou. She didn't really have a color as she closed her eyes and thought of the butterflies. Kay opened her eyes and pointed her wand into the air. "PAPILIO!" Beautiful butterflies came out of her wand. They were all different colors and she didn't count them. Kay was just happy that it had work at all. "This is great." |
Seeing the room awash with the vibrant colours of the many conjured Butterflies, Patroclus thought it was about time he stopped watching and had a go himself. He withdrew his wand from within his robes and firstly practiced the wand movement. Once he had duplicated the professors movements as best he could, Patroclus began his first grand attempt. "Papilio" he breathed clear and precisely, and to Patroclus surprise from the tip of his wand sprung seven beautifully formed butterflies - each one a colour of the rainbow. Gliding in an arc above his desk, the rainbow butterflies shone like a real rainbow that had filled the sky after a warm summer rain shower. "Perfection" he smiled. |
Arya watched her butterfly's flutter around her head, deciding what to name them. "Hmm, I think I'll call ya'll Riki, Tiki, and Tavi."Looking around the class she saw that many students had diffrent color butterfly's. Wondering if she could do the same, Arya flicked her wand and said, "Papilio!" Again three butterfly's appeared, all a bright yellow. She frowned a little, wanting them to be diffrent colors. But still loved the wonderfull yellow butterflys as they joined Riki, Tiki, and Tavi. |
Butterflies? This Professor was nuts. But in a lovely, sweet, cuddly way.Sarah liked her. Squinting her eyes to watch the demonstration, she nodded her understanding, but her heart sank when there was mention of older students doing it non-verbally.Yeahhh she was an older student now.She was awful at non-verbals, though. She would most likely end up with anything other than butterflies coming out of her wand. But she had to try. Swishing her wand, Sarah practically shouted the spell in her head "Papilio!" , closing her eyes at the same time. She really wasn't sure she wanted to open them and find out what she had produced, especially as everyone else seemed to be doing well.It would so humiliating if she had deformed butterflies, or worse - none at all.But she felt something tickle her face, and it made her curious.Slowly she opened one eye and glanced around.A tiny yellow butterfly was smacking into her face, trying to get her attention. And it was....REALLY tiny.Like muggle pound coin sized tiny.At least it was something though, and Sarah grinned happily as it flitted about. |
Nate wasn't fond of butterflies but maybe he could do the spell later to impress Cad. He was one of the older students so he tried verbal so later he could do it nonverbally. "Papilio." he said looking at the ceiling picturing yellow and black butterflies floating. He looked back down at his wand and he got a very light yellow with big black blotches. He tried again nonverbally and got them almost perfect. They came out bright orange with black stripes. Well at least they looked manly. Like a tiger sort of. He was satified so he looked at the old nice teacher and said "Like this professer?" in a British accent that he just made up. He enjoyed those. |
She wanted them to make butterflies? What the Fudge? This was transfiguration? Well it was kind of cute. "Papilio", Alex said calmly watching as a few butterflies flew out of his wand. One was rainbow and the other two were green and grey respectively. He was going for silver, but couldn't quite get it. Sad face. Repeating the spell a few times, with varying degrees of success regarding the colours of the butterflies Alex soon had butterflies in each of the house colours and in PINK. He decided to name that butterfly Alexis since it was his little sisters favourite colour. This month at least. Smiling as the butterflies fluttered around his head Alex couldn't help but to remember simpler days back at home where he and his hyung would chase butterflies, sometimes catching them for their collection. |
Evan Cartwright definately didn't just zoom out, did he? Nope, he knew he was at a class. He knew they were conjuring sparkling butterflies. So why wasn't he doing it, and instead had laid his head on the wall?! Immediately shaking his head to clear his sleepiness, he pulled his wand from the holster Lyra had given him which had a Slytherin snake on it. Wait... what was the incantation? Po... no, it was something like a paper name. Pa...pi...leus? No, that was the paper's name. Papili... Latin words ended with "o", didn't they? Papilio! Listening to a few people that casted the spell aloud, he nodded to himself. Now, to actually conjure something. He thought of a blue sparkling butterfly. To get it even more effective, he even closed his eyes, and then said the incantation out loud. He waited for some feeling -conjuring must not be that easy after all- and slowly opened one eye. There was no butterfly to be seen. Frowning, he opened the other, only to see he had failed. Smooth. Really smooth. |
Sebastian had told that girl from the feast that the Professors here were useless, had he not? Eh. Were they really going to produce butterflies out of thin air in order to make her room prettier?! Really? This was pretty useless. Sitting straight on his chair, Sebastian kept on hand in his jacket's pocket as he observed his .... - eugh - classmates play around with their wands. Eye roll. What a waste of time. "Ma'am?" Sebastian called for the wacko old woman, raising the hand that wasn't hidden. "I am not saying that decorating your classroom isn't a noble enough reason, but what utility being able to conjure butterflies would have to us once we graduate, in your opinion?" He doubted she even heard him. |
Nancy couldn't help but smile a little at Professor Pilliwickle's excitement about...well, everything. She was a cute old lady. Her hearing seemed to be a little impaired or at least not the best anymore as she called Reese Upshed. Oh, but she certainly was forgiven for that. She was just too cute and bubbly not to. Butterflies? Nancy glanced around the room which indeed was a bit boring. Well, it was a classroom. What else to expect? Pulling her wand out of its holster the 16 year old simply pointed it slightly upwards and then considered the professor's instructions. Think about what you want to conjure up. What you want to have here at the moment. What you most- Eek! No, bad thought. Very bad thought. She soooo didn't want him to be here right now. So not. He could stay whereever he was at the moment and never come back. She did not care. So not. Guh! Now, concentrate on the butterflies! Butterfly Butterfly Butterfly "Papilio!" She exclaimed in her head unaudibly as they had been told to do the spell non-verbally. And wow, it had actually worked! A swarm of...BLACK butterflies had emerged from her wand. Black?! Maybe a small thought of a certain somebody had infiltrated her mind again. "Sorry, not too colorful, Professor Pilliwickle." Nancy gave a half-hearted laugh as she watched the other students around her performing the spell as well. |
Kellen thought about what the professor told him, distracted though he had been by Neptune's butterfly names, and fixed a colour in his mind: yellow. He stepped behind one of the other students to... well, not hide from Neptune, but certainly make himself less readily available to her eyesight... and gave his wand a flick, "Papilio." Only three flew out this time, and they weren't entirely yellow, but that was fine. At least they weren't gray or something. |
"Papilio!" said lucille, holding her wand tight with a crease between her eyebrows. She bit her toung. What coulour? Errm...ERM?? WHAT WERE COLOURS?? Oh Merlin the pressure! Brain blank!!! BRAIN BLANK!! "PLAPILPO!!" She cried, forgetting that she was still biting her toung. The stream of black smoke issueing from her wand tip reminded her. He eyes bulged and she started blowing at it. She did NOT want to start a fire. Nu-Uh. Fire was orange!! ORANGE WAS A COLOUR!!!! HOORAHH!!!!!!! Thesmoke firmly extinguished, Lucille fixed her mind on the colour orange. She relaxed grip on her wand and- "Papilio!" Orange flutterbyes!!! Prettttyyyyyy. |
Oops. Miranda had apparently dozed off again and was now quite still, only her eyes big as saucers moving around to see what everyone else was doing. Butterflies? They were CONJURING BUTTERFLIES! Aha! Great, now everything was a-ok - How the hell did you do that? She cleared her throat and grabbed her wand firmly. "Pa...pilio?" Her hand made the wand movement like a flick, but nothing happened. Hmmm... She scanned the room again. Brant seemed to be doing allright. Maybe he could help her. But! She had to try ON HER OWN! Miranda was an independent, confident- Ah, get on with it. "Paaaapilio!" She said firmly and still nothing happened. But wait, some students were closing their eyes. Eh? Miranda frowned. Maybe you had to like imagine the butterflies? Yes, that made sense. She closed her eyes and thought of butterflies with multicolored wings and fluffly bodies. She smiled and imagined them flying around the sky. Oh...to be a butterfly... Opening her eyes, her smile still intact, she waved her wand and muttered the incantation. Oh my... Five different coloured butterflies flew out into the classroom and fluttered around. Whoa, that was...new. |
