Alexa narrowed her eyes at Lorcan for being such a little brat, but immediately went back to concentrating on the spell. His little attitude was not going to get inthe way of her beautiful butterflies. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes and pictured more of the pink beauties. "Papilio" she said in a confident voice and opened her eyes to see that the six other butterflies she had just conjured were bigger and by far more beautiful than the previous ones she had conjured. |
Ugh. Die garret crocker. Die. Die. Die. Quote:
And she would have if he had not gone and produced one of the ugliest creatures that had ever been conjured, mutated, created, cloned, birthed in this human, magical and non-magical world. It was. Not. Pretty. OH MERLIN HELP US ALL. And he dared name it AFTER HER?! Clenching her fist, Daphne's breathing became erratic. "Garret Crocker," she said with a tense smile, eyes bright with...who knew what...and cheeks tinted with annoyance. "Have I ever shown you how well I can do non-verbal spells?" Well, she was gonna. Raising her arm, Daphne repeated the wand movement over and over and over again, conjuring 6 ugly brown butterflies every time. Just like she had done before. They swarmed around her, as if waiting for some kind of command. "Oi, Crocker, I think there's something on your face. Let us get it for you." Flicking her wand at Crocker's face was enough to get the butterflies moving. They immediately swarmed Garret's face and head, flapping against his mouth, nose and ears. They were going in, Mister. One way or the other! |

With warmth in her chest she brought the picture of her butterfly in her mind, stood up, swished her wand, and said, "Papilio!" Immediately a swarm of mid-night blue butterflies erupted from her wand. Allison had seen nothing like it before. Soon enough they trampled over the flies and the pesky things disappeared. Grinning at what she now called her masterpiece, Allison sighed with content. On her next letter she'd send her mother a butterfly. Surely she'd appreciate the butterfly as much as she appreciated her mothers. The only difference was that her mom had transfigured her tissue with tears into a butterfly, and Allison had cast it out of thin air. Perhaps that's why her mother's had been so alluring, because it carried the love a mother had for her child. |
Merlin. Just... Merlin, why? Raiden could hear Neptune. Naming her butterflies. Raiden and Garret and now there was Kellen's name too, which he could only assume had happened in their common room... Great. Now he was a blue butterfly and a purple butterfly. In front of a classroom full of people. Raiden sank a little farther into his seat, his wand moving idly in his hand. He had to... do the classwork. Yes. Ignore the fact that you're a purple butterfly. "Papilio!" One butterfly appeared, which was nice. Raiden didn't want more than one to appear. Win. The wings were... odd. Translucent and bright red in colour. He frowned; he'd been concentrating for orange, like the butterflies he'd seen this summer. Orange with black spots. "Dugbogs," he muttered, watching it as it moved. "Papilio!" ... Well that one was blue. Why was it blue? Be ORANGE, butterflies! ORANGE. |
EEEE. Pweettyy butterflies. Livvy merely grinned giddily to herself as she thought about what the professor had said and done. They were conjuring butterflies. What a happy day. Odd. But happy. She swore she was quite a bipolar person. One moment she wants school to be over with, the next moment she's conjuring butterflies like there was no tomorrow. Ah well. Things cannot be changed. And with that settles, the Ravenclaw girl held up her wand and moved it around as she said the incantation firmly. "Papilio!" Wheeee!! Pretty PURPLE butterfly! She grinned as she watched it fly around and over other students heads. It landed on the head of a girl who was naming her conjured butterflies furiously. RAIDEN. GARRET. KELLEN. Oh myyy.. Well wasn't this lil' gal filled with spirit? |

He dropped to the ground, rolling and laughing and trying to swat the moths away with his creation at the same time. |

She swished her wand again and cast non-verbally. It was clear that Cela's butterflies were as Ravenclaw as she was. She practiced a few more times and conjured butterflies, then looked around to see if anyone needed help. |
If Neptune Bott would have known Ian's name? She'd TOTALLY have conjured up another pretty purple butterfly just for him. As it were, she did not, and was only left to GUESS it. Or ... find out before class was over.... She GIGGLED in his direction. "Papilio!" OH GLORIOUS PURPLE BUTTERFLIES! Neptune caught ONE as it fluttered past and went to go show RAIDEN. She stepped over Garrett who had so kindly named HIS butterfly after Miss Hopton. "Did you SEE the one I named after you, Raiden?" With the little creature cupped in her hands, Neptune KISSED her butterfly, then set it free in Raiden's direction. GIGGGGGGLING erupted from her, then she danced away to find Kellen and blow HIM butterfly kisses TOO. Was the professor watching? SURELY she'd be MOST impressed! |

"You are so meeean!" As if he hadn't heard that before. Katie rolled her eyes and got up from her seat, going to the boy's side. Someone had to rescue the butterfly. Pushing his hand away from the poor thing, gently tried scooping it up using both hands, as gently and careful as possible. "You can't touch a butterflies wings, you'll kill it." She gave Legend a quick glare and decided to call for help. "Professor, uhm.. can we use a spell to shrink the butterfly? Chosen somehow managed to conjure a mutant one; it's too big. It can't fly," Katie frowned, looking concernedly down at the poor twitchy thing. Only Legend.. |

While Daphne DEMONStrated further what DEMONS butterflies could be by conjuring more of her functional brown ones. Hmph. Her clutter of angry miniature winged beasts was dispersed by the moving body of Neptune Bott. Who was busy giggling and blowing butterfly!kisses at Raiden. "Hey, Neptune!" called out the blond, wishing her wand to conjure more butterflies. "Are you going to give out butterflies to everyone?" Or just...the pretty boys? Daphne hummed. Where were they? |
Tibi liked butterflies. He liked to lay on the grass and alternate watching them fly around and watching the clouds. There was just something about them that he really liked. So this lesson? This was great. And he thought that maybe, just maybe, he'd actually be able to manage this spell the first time around. Smile on his face, Tiberius closed his eyes and pictured a few butterflies flitting between flowers. "Papilo!" Yellow butterflies with black markings danced out of his wand and into the air, one flying away before doubling back and landing on his head. With a childish little giggle, Tibi shook his head, sending the butterfly back into the air. |

Thinking of another color he could use for the butterflies he swished his wand again and said "Papilio" in a calm curious voice. His mood was already changing just being close to people he actually knew. Of course he couldn't actually tell them what was going on, he didn't need them worrying about him. "As he was thinking he didn't even notice the light blue butterflies coming out of his wand, flying up towards Katie and fluttering around her. "Hey, look at that they like you Katie."he chuckled his eyes watching curiously before turning to Legend. |
...oh great. Npetune had spotted him and come over with her butterflies. Her Raiden, Garret, and Kellen butterflies. His own blue one fluttered near her, swooping around one of her purple ones before she took off after someone else. "That's great, Neptune," he managed, weakly, giving her a little wave as she went off. It wasn't right to be grumpy at her. She hadn't really done anything. She was an excitable girl, that was all there was to it. And really, he was already an ever-present butterfly on her wrist. Being one in class wasn't that much worse, was it? Daphne was trying to kill Garret. It was a good thing he was busy not being the responsible Prefect he was meant to be; he kept his eyes carefully averted from the scene, turning a deaf ear to it as well as he repeated the spell they were meant to be practising. He tried it nonverbally a few times, just following the wand motion and focusing on what he wanted. Somehow, he managed to get it to work. Hooray for that? Now he had another pair of butterflies, matching the first. He wanted orange. |

"Of course I am." He replied, as he continued to twirl the wand around. "I would rather be mean then a girly, Butterfly loving weirdo." Of course he whispered this part because....Pilliwickle was a girly, Butterfly loving wierdo. And HOW was he suppose to know not to touch the ugly things wings? "It wasn't me you're the one holding it." Legend reached over and snatched the Butterfly back from Katie. "And of course we can use a shrinking spell DUH." Pointing his wand over again at the fat butterfly Legend gave it one last poke. "Reducio!" The butterfly instantly began to shrink, an shrink and AH! It was probably the normal size of the ugly things....it actually didn't look too bad now that it wasn't as fat. He watched as the butterfly flew around Katie's desk. "That thing is ugly and mental." |
Ian McKensie was allergic to giggles - everyone knew this, or at least, they certainly SHOULD know it. They made him jumpy and itchy all over his arms. Or so so claimed anyway. Which of course meant that it was some lie he'd made up Merlin Knows When. So when he HEARD the sound of giggle, his head immediately snapped up and found herself staring at some blonde, young girl that looked vaguely familiar and made him think of ... magazines and, strangely, of his sister Morgan. He sunk his hands on his untamed brown hair and then scratched his head distractedly as he stared at the little giggler. She didn't look anything like Morgan, and ... Well, great - he hadn't thought of that brat in days and things had been just fine. First raising his eyebrows a little bit at her, then shaking his head, and then finally outright chuckling at her antics only to end up covering the sound with a cough, Ian was suddenly reminded by the girl's butterflies that he was meant to be practicing on creating more horrible butterflies, so started the process again, thinking that females were slightly out of their minds. Ian also thought, naturally, that all these years he'd been right on thinking that between him and Colby, he'd gotten the looks and Colby the brains. Obviously. Seemed pretty fair to him. |
Carter concentrated hard on a butterfly and yelled, "Papilio." Fluttering out of his wand came a red butterfly. He cast the spell a few more times and was soon surrounded by red and gold butterflies. Yup, he was a Gryffindor alright. |
Oooo, butterflies! Destiny liked butterflies, but she like caterpillars even more! Too bad the Professor didn't tell them to conjure caterpillars..especially the fuzzy kind. 'Papilio!' and a swish of the wand, a lone butterfly flew out of her wand and rested right on the tip of the wand. How was she supposed to conjure more when this butterfly was resting? With a little shake, Destiny tried to get the butterfly to move, but it was being stubborn. He or she, needed to be shown who was boss. 'Get off!' she said as she shook the wand a little rougher this time. The butterfly slowly flew off the wand and before Destiny could even think about conjuring up more, Mr. Butterfly flew right towards her face, even landing on her cheek. Gahhh! Butterfly kisses were gross. |
"Papilio!" Emily said quietly. Several blue butterflies erupted from her wand tip. Concentrating, she produced many more, and with great difficulty made them form her name in the air. But blue was for Ravenclaw, so she repeated the spell, and this time was rewarded with several flocks of green, red and yellow butterflies. Emily laughed to herself and waved her wand so the insects formed the letter 'H' with one quarter of each colour. Laughing again, Emily wondered what to do next. |
Ginny was sitting at her desk quietly looking around at everyone. She got out her wand and said "Papilio". Beautiful butterfilies were coming out of her wand which flew all round her with red and gold. It looked like the Gryffindor colours. She did the spell a few more times and it was so gorgeous and she was very good at it! |
And like the merciless vixen she was, Daphne Hopton conjured up more of those ugly moths and sent them his way. Garret could only curl up like his own creation, which he held above his head while his arms covered his ears. Those crazy moths were going to kill him! And yet his body shook, not with fear as one would expect someone faced with Daphne's wrath would be, but with the still muffled laughter that he couldn't control. It seemed he enjoyed aggravating Daphne FAR too much for it to be healthy. |
Mina looked around the room at all the butterflies. Clearing in her head she saw dark blue and silver butterflies. Firmly holding on to her wand, she waved her wand and recited the incantation. "Papilio." A tiny sliver butterfly with navy outlined wings fly from her wand. It was pretty but she wanted to see if she could do better. This time she envisioned gold and blue butterflies in her head. Clearly seeing them in her head, she recited the incarnation with a firm wave of her wand. "Papilio." Soon a flock of butterflies with dark navy and gold speckled wings erupted from her wand. Very Ravenclaw they looked, just how she envisioned them. |

Sidney waves her wand around a few times. The she tries it with the incantation. "Papilio," and then she waves her wand. No butterflies come out of her wand. Sidney tries it three more times with the same result. What am I doing wrong? I'm using the right incantation and wand movement, so why aren't I getting butterfies? Oh yeah, Professor Pilliwickle said I need to visualize the butterflies I want to transfigure. There aren't many butterflies in the Carpatian Mountains. I loved the butterflies in New Zealand. I used to sit in our garden and watch them. Sidney closes he eyes and thinks about being back in the family garden in New Zealand. She sees her favorite butterflies flying around her. "Papilio!" Sidney waves her wand and thinks about the beautiful blue butterfies fly out of Sidney's wand and fly around her. "I did it! I really did it!" Sidney watches her butterflies fly around. They make her home sick. "I wonder if I can do it with Monarch butterflies. They are so beautiful too. Orange and blue would be lovely flying together." Sidney closes her eyes and thinks about Monarch butterflies. It take a while, but Sidney visualizes one of them in her mind too. She raises her wand and says: "Papilio!" She waves her wand around. Beautiful Monarch Butterflies fly out of Sidney's wand. She watches them fly around and join the other butterfies in the room. |
Herminny watched in awe as she saw the professor demonstrate a spell that caused butterflies to come from her wand and then followed her instructions to try it. She took out her wand thinking it seemed simple enough. She thought of beautiful monarch butterflies as she waved her wand and said, "Papilio", and sure enough butterflies came from her wand and she smiled as she waited to see what may come next. |
Fred rolled his eyes as he saw the professor perform a spell that caused butterflies to come out of her wand and especially did not want to try he spell, it seemed so sissy but he wanted credit so he sucked in his pride, took out his wand and started thinking about, yuck, butterflies and waved his wand as he said "Papilio", and butterflies came from his wand which he quicly waved away for he only did it for credit, nothing more. He hoped if there was more to this class he would not have to perform another girly spell, YUCK |
After practicing saying the incantation aloud for the professor, Audio picked up his wand. He let his eyes zone out for a moment as he imagined butterflies. Big right red ones that he used to see outside of his window back when he lived with his family. He almost smiled to himself, but stopped. Swish and "Papilio!" A few red butterflies soared from his wand, but they weren't what he imagined. They were... dull. They didn't fly too fast and seemed to be lulling about as compared to the other butterflies around the room that seemed to flutter at 100 mph. Audio took a breath and closed his eyes, just as professor had instructed. He kept his mouth shut and thought of the red butterflies, pushing any thought of his childhood out of his mind. Instead he replaced those thoughts with the word papilio. He was always better at non-verbal anyways. He opened his eyes and couldn't help but grin at the creation in front of him. Big red butterflies dancing in front of him, just as they used to do outside of his window when he was younger. HE looked to the professor, biting back his smile. He needed to keep his mysterious Slytherin boy facade after-all. |
