Nicoletta waved. "H-h-hi Rex." she clamped her jaws together tightly to keep her teeth from chattering. "Iiiii don't th-th-think we've m-met bef-f-ore." she said to Rex's friend. "N-n-nicoletta Dav-v-is" she said holding her hand out. She was still about as frozen as a popsicle and stuffed her other hand in her pocket.

"Well, I have been at the jungle gym but I did not seem that cold" Rex told Kay. " Only when I swim in the lake at this time" Rex laughed. " Yes. her name is Nicoletta and she does need something warm to drink" Rex agreed with Kat. "We will stay inside for now and drink our butterbeer" Rex explained to Kay.

"You seem very cold" Rex told Nicoletta. " Why don't you come over with us and get yourself a hot drink?" Rex asked Nicoletta. "Always warmer when more people are closer to each other plus a warm drink will do you good" Rex explained to Nicoletta.

At Rex's suggestion, Nicoletta shook her head. "N-n-no thanks, I w-wouldn't want to intrude." obviously, if he was here with just one other girl he had to be on a date or something. Then again, he had just asked her to sit with them, mabey they weren't. But the other girl might not be okay with it. Nicoletta's teeth had finally stopped chattering and she was warm enough to take her hat back off.

"Nicoletta!" Jenny said. "You okay? It's Jenny - we met on the train, but that was before I had my hair dyed brown and yellow!" True, very true. "You know I was wondering where I'd see you again. You can sit with me or the other way around if that's okay."

Jenny... Oh yeah! Duh! Nicoletta looked at the empty table she was sitting at. "Hey! Yeah you can sit here if you want." Good, the stuttering had stopped!

" Ok, you do not have to sit with us" Rex told Nicoletta. " Promise me you will drink something warm" Rex said to Nicoletta seeing that she was still kind of shaking.

Nicoletta laughed and nodded her head. "Promise."

"It's nice to meet you. You really should get something warm. That way you do get sick." Kay said smiling at the other girl.

Kay was glad that they were staying in side. It was so cold outside. "Good, I think I would look like Nicoletta if we went outside. Warm butterbeer sounds good to good. Lets buy one for Nicoletta to make sure she drinks something."


"You wouldn't be intruding, Really. Rex and I like meeting new friends." Kay waved her to come over.

She smiled and listened to Rex talk to the girls. "Ok, Will if you change your minds and can come over." Kay said

" Ok. glad you listened to me" Rex told Nicoletta. " Of course, you did not have to listen to this boy" Rex laughed."Come on over Nicoletta" we both insist.

" Kay, you are grown as a person" Rex told her. " I know you use to get a slight bit upset when I talked to girls especially coming over to talk to us" Rex explained to Kay. A warm buttter beer would be great for all of us" Rex said to Ksy and Nicoletta.

Kay still blushed when Rex said nice things about her. She could help it. "Thanks, I guess I'm just growing up. I be 13 in March, and the girls don't bother me so much." She said taking a drink of the butterbeer. "We love each other and I trust you. Everyone needs friends and understanding. So why not from us." She watched Rex for a moment and then looked to see if his friends would come over.

Well I guess. she thought. "Oh alright! Erm, can Jenny come too?" she asked hopefully.

"13, I thought you were going to be 15" Rex told Kay. " I will throw you a birtday party ay Jason's" Rex said to Kay. " Well if you want your party somewhere else, I will be happy to have it anywhere you want dear" Rex explained to kay.

"Well I would be upset if Jenny did not come to the table " Rex told Nicoletta. " Kay, you agree right?" Rex asked her. " More the merrier" Rex said to Nicoletta.

Nicoletta laughed and slid over into a seat at their table. She waved for Jenny to come over too.

Fending off the cold, biting wind, James pushed open the door to the familiar pub and instantly felt the warmth soak through his several layers of clothing. Ripping off the scarf that was wrapped around his face, the teen made his way to a small table. He plopped down and thought about what drink he should order. Instantly deciding on a butterbeer, James walked up to the bar, placed five sickles on the counter, and took a butterbeer back to his seat. He took a sip and sighed as it warmed his body.

Enid walked into The Three Broomsticks with a sigh. She had been speed-walking her way through Hogsmeade in an attempt to keep warm, but the cold air outside still froze her insides every time she inhaled, and she had grown pretty breathless now.

Not anymore, though. She was in the very warm and cozy - and, as expected, crowded - pub now, and the air here was soothing and warm. She couldn't help but smile faintly to herself. But a second later, the smile was gone and her brows were furrowed. There were no seats in this place! Grr... And she was not going to sit at the bar, no way. That would leave her with nowhere to rest her feet.

And so, the girl stood there thinking for a moment before deciding she would just sit at the table she usually sat at, even if it was occupied by a Ravenclaw boy. She walked over to the table, dumped her messenger bag beside the chair, and sat down. Making herself comfortable, the girl then brought her feet up onto the table and let them rest there while leaning on the back legs of her chair absentmindedly, as if she hadn't just randomly come out of nowhere and invaded the boy's table and space by making him meet her dirty sneakers resting only a couple inches from his butterbeer.

Age? He thought she was going to be 15? "Umm..does my age matter?" Kay asked softly. "Oh, Jason is fine. Maybe all my family and friend could come." She said smiling. "Nicoletta your friend is welcome."

Jenny walked over. Boy was Nicoletta happy! She stopped when she sat. Slytherin she read. Oh no -- her friend -- a SNAKE. Well..."Darn, Nicoletta! We're in different houses." She said. DUH. Anyone should know that!

Ella arrived at the Three Broomsticks after exhaustively completing her homework for all her classes. Now she had the weekend to enjoy at Hogsmeade. It was the first time since the beginning of the year, and being back felt fantastic.

" Thanks for inviting your friend to our table" Rex told Nicoletta.

" No, your age does not matter to me" Rex told Kay." Oh yes, I want an older girl" Rex teased Kay and laughed hard. " Invite anyone you want and I will ask Jason if it is ok to have it at the castle" Rex said to Kay.

"Well hello Jenny, I am Rex Trigwell, fourth year transfer student from SweetWater, Texas" he introduced himself. " By my red and gold sweater. you can tell I am in Gryffindor" Rex said to Jenny.

Wow! Texas! She loved that place. So fascinating! "Texas?" Jenny said. Who cares if he's in Gryffindor - TEXAS!! "I've been there. Really nice place, it is. In fact I wish I could go there again for the summer." She said dreamily. "Gryffindor? I'm a Hufflepuff. I like your house colors though." Wait - Nicoletta and Rex were FRIENDS? Does that mean Slytherins and Gryffindors could be FRIENDS? It's the end of the world! Either that or her mother made that up..

"Oh yes, well... I suppose we are." dang if she's one of those anti-slytherin people..."Hufflepuff, right?" she asked. "I'm in Slytherin."

Turning to Kay, she asked. "Is your birthday soon?" she'd get her something. No one had gotten her anything for her birthday so she felt obliged to get something for someone else.

" Yes, Texas" Rex told Jenny." So what part of Texas did you visit?" Rex asked Jenny. "Well, If you want to come back with me to Texas sometime, just tell me" Rex explained to Jenny. " Kay will be there with me" he told her.

Rex looked at Nicoletta. She looked sad when she said birthday. Rex pulled out his wand and a birthday cake with candles appears on the table with the words Happy Birthday Nicoletta. " Here is a birthday present for you" Rex said to Nicoletta." This is a muggle i-pod for you with some songs on them for you" Rex explained to Nicoletta.

"Friends have nothing to do with the houses. We can be friends." Kay said smiling and handing her a butterbeer. "All we have to do is get to know each other." She smiled.

"Oh, My birthday is in March on the 9th, and I haven't really thought about it much the last couple of years." kay said watching Nicoletta. She looked a little sad.

Kay laughed when Rex make the cake and ipod appear. He always wanted to make people happy. "Well should we sing to her too?" Kay asked hoping Nicoletta would be happy.

Nicoletta's eyes got wide when she saw Rex's present. She smiled."Awww! Thanks!" it made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside. "Mine was on September 8th... thanks." it may have just been something small but she was glad someone cared.

She turned to Kay. "What are you gonna do for it?" she remembered how Fallon had thrown Evan's party last term in the three broomsticks.

James averted his eyes as an unfamiliar Gryffindor girl entered the pub. He watched her look around the cozy room and realized that there were no tables open for her. A shame, really, he thought. However, his eyebrow rose as this stranger beelined her way to his table and plopped down as if they were the closest friends. Forcing down a sincere chuckle, he leaned to the right so that the girl's boots wouldn't obscure his view.
"Er...hi," he said, not sure how to address the situation, as awkward as it may be. "Can I help you?"
