"Obviously I'm afraid if I yelled when I saw one," he laughed and stood up, brushing himself off. Tyler was fixing his pants when Lucy put something in front of his face again. "LUCE! That's not funny," he chuckled nervously and back away. Yeah, she was going to have fun torturing him like this.

"Aww why are you scared? It's so cute!" She squealed as she watched it walked on her hand. She jumped as he yelled in frustration. "What?" She said innocently as she advanced on him, and closed her hand so the spider couldn't escape. "Okay, I'm going to help you get over your fear," She said with a giggle. She grabbed his hand with her free one and dragged him so he standing right in front of her.

"They're all fuzzy and creepy looking," he said and stared at the spider. "I don't wanna," he said and Luce was still pulling him towards her. He just hoped she wouldn't put the spider in front of him again.

Diggy sat contently in front of the fire with a full belly and some awesome dessert. He was happy and he wasn't going to let Oliver ruin that with one of his insensitive questions. Diggy knew he emotions had been boiling right under the surface, but he couldn't help that. He was separated from his twin for the first time in his life, he father had left them without so much as a note, and his mother was the on the verge of another break down. Who could blame him?

He shook his head and giggled. "That's the fun in Bertie Beans though. Its always a surprise." Him and Pais were the only two who liked that candy. His dad would run from a bag of the stuff. Though Diggy avoided all the red ones in case it was tomato or ketchup flavored. "I play but not serious like Paris and Lucas. But I do want to work for Riddle Broom and Company." he explained. "I mean Quidditch is more fun for me, I just don't have the discipline to play on a team or anything." he shrugged. He wouldn't have done good on the house team. He didn't have the attention span for the practices and things like that. he would have done more harm then good on that team.

"Well, this one is NOT fuzzy. He's skinny and tiny and he can't hurt you! In fact, he's more afraid of you than you are of him!!" She said with a giggle. She eyed him nervously. "I'm gonna open my hand and when I do, I want you to stay calm, okayyy?" She said with a smile. Oh, he was too cute!

"Lies! He's probably just waiting to bite me or something," Tyler said, still staring at the spider. So what if it was small? Small things cause trouble. Just look at Kat. Ty took a deep breath and said, "Okay, I'll try,"

Lucy poked him for his outburst. "He's not the biting type," She said with a glare. And then she opened her hand a tiny bit and spoke to the spider. "Are you, Mr. Spider?" She said with a giggle. When Ty said he would try, she beamed. "Oh yay!" She said with a grin. She opened her hand a bit more, and put it in Ty's face, but made sure the spider wouldn't escape. She watched Ty nervously for a reaction. But the the oven timer went off and made a loud BEEEEEEEEP noise, which made Lucy jump. In doing so, she dropped the spider and it landed...on Tyler. She looked in horror as it crawled on his hair. Uh-oh.

Tyler's breathing went deeper when Lucy ut the spider closer to his face. When he heard the beep, something fell on his head. Ty looked at Lucy's hands and saw that the spider wasn't there anymore. Then he felt something starting to crawl on him. Uh oh. Reaching up to touch his hair, Tyler felt the spider on him.

This was going to turn ugly.

"AHHHHHHH!!!" he yelled and brushed it off his hair. but he was still freaking out, Tyler looked like a mad man. After a fwe seconds of spazzing out, Tyler finally calmed down and leaned against the wall. "This is not how I planned to get rid of my fear,"

Lucy gasped at his scream and ran over to him, trying to look for the spider. After a minute, she spotted it scuttling away into the cabinet again. She looked back at Tyler and hugged him. "I'm SO SORRY!! I didn't mean for it to happen like that!" She said as she tried to fix his hair and hug him at the same time. She felt really bad now. What if someone had let a snake loose on her? She would freak out, too.

"Don't worry. It's not like you knew it was going to go off at that same time," he said and hugged her back. But his heart was still beating fast from the sudden scare. "So why don't we frost the cake and get out of here before I have a heart attack," he chuckled and looked over to the oven, glancing at the floor as well.

Lucy bit her lip as him and nodded about the beeping. And then she laughed at the mention of the heard attack and the fact that he was checking the floor for any more spiders. She went over to the frosting and opened it up, and then looked for a spatula or knife to spread the frosting. Once she found one, she went back to Ty, waiting for the cake to come out. "Mmm, it smells gooood!" She said as she inhaled deeply and closed her eyes. Yum.

Cadence sprinted to the kitchen with her best friend. She was so happy for Lanie! Celebration was definitely necessary. She tickled the pear and went inside the kitchen, having arrived a mere second before Melanie. mm! It smelled good in here! She turned to Lanie with a smile on her face and said, "I win!" she said, breathing a little heavily. "Pick you poison! In what form would we like the massive amounts of chocolate?"

Melanie merely rolled her eyes at Cadence. "Yeah... Well, I want a rematch." the girl muttered quietly. She'd probably be in better shape near the end of the term.

She trailed in after Cadence, making a mental note to tickle the pear should she ever wish to come down to the kitchens at another time, as she watched Cadence do so. She'd actually never been in the kitchens, which some may think odd considering she slept only a few doors away... but Melanie had never felt the need.

"S'not poison." Melanie replied, slightly amused at her comment, nonetheless. "I think I want...strawberries." she said, peering at Cadence, a somewhat sheepish expression forming on her face just as she spoke her next words. "With chocolate." the fourth year added innocently.

Tyler sat on the counter, still trying to get the fact that he almost had a heart attack right in this very kitchen. Spiders were EVIL creatures, just like girls except they're not creatures. Or are they? Ty shook his head and inhaled the smell of the strawberry cake. "It really does," he chuckled and swung his legs back and forth. After a few more minutes, the oven beeped again and Ty walked over and took the cake out. Yay! It was done which meant all that was needed was icing and they could leave this scary place. "Cake's done," he said and placed it on the counter.

"I'll give you a rematch any time! I may be tiny, but my feet move fast." she said with a giggle. She looked around in the kitchen and saw Tyler and Lucy inside. She gave a little eye roll while their backs were turned. Obviously they hadn't noticed that she was in here yet. Then Lanie said something about strawberries, and Cadence gave her an extremely skeptical look. Strawberries? Was Lanie sick? Ahhh... there was the magic word. Cadence looked around again, and decided it would be more fun to do this on their own. "Strawberries and chocolate... I can do that!"

She walked over to the refrigerator and pulled out a carton of strawberries. "Chocolate... chocolate... I need fondu chocolate... aha! Found it!" she said and she took out both white and milk chocolate. Then she found a saucepan, started a burner with her wand, and began heating up the chocolate. After a few minutes, the chocolate was sufficiently warm and gooey and delicious she carried it over to the island and sat it down on the table with the strawberries.

Cadence pointed her wand at a strawberry, said, Wingardium Leviosa!" and levitated the strawberry over to the chocolate and dipped it in. "Here's to you! The best chaser in the school!"

Sapphyre walked into the Kitchen, glancing around for Kay. Nothing yet. She turned to a house elf and smiled instead. "Hey," she asked, "can you make some tea for my friend and I? She'll be here soon... And if it's okay, I'll grab myself a few elderberries."

The house elf nodded, setting out two tea cups, and Phyre grabbed the elderberries, eating them one by one as she waited. Mmm..

Walking into the Kitchen Kay looked around. See Sapphyre she walked over. "Hello." She said sitting down in the chair next to her.

Lucy clapped her hands when Ty told her that the cake was done. “Oh yay!” And then when he set it on the counter, she gave him one of the spatulas and took one herself. After taking a big glop from the tub of icing, she dropped it on the cake and started smothering it on. Some of it got on her hands and she licked it—yummmmmy, strawberry icing! And then she took some and put it on Ty’s nose…so he looked like a little piggy!! “Haha!” She laughed and put some more icing on the cake. They still hadn’t found those sprinkles…

Tyler laughed as Lucy put some frosting on his nose. He tried to lick it off with his tongue, but it was no use. "I'm not going to be the only one with frosting on my face," Ty smirked and scooped some icing from out of the container with the spatula. He then spalttered it on Lucy's face. "Haha!"

Sapphyre looked around the Kitchen and back to Kay before taking her hand. "Sapphyre Edwige Castalia Malfoy Black," she replied, taking a breath after her name. "But my friends call me Phyre." She poured herself and Kaytone a cup of tea each, fixing hers up with milk and two cubes of sugar.

Lucy giggled as he tried to lick the frosting off his nose. What a useless attempt! No one could lick their nose unless they had a super long tongue! But then Ty decided that pink was totally her color and put a glob of pink frosting on her face. She shrieked and then laughed, licking some off of her face with her finger. “Mmmm!” She said and then took out her wand. “Tergeo!” And the frosting disappeared. “Ah, come one let’s finish this cake before I eat the frosting!” She said as she dipped her finger into the tub and took a huge glob out. Licking her finger again, went over to a random cabinet, hoping to find sprinkles. She finally found some red sprinkles and brought them over to the Ty, along with the candles. “Thirteen candles for the birthday girl,” She said as she started counting out the candles.

Melanie actually rolled her eyes. "I could tooooootally win. I could." she responded. Melanie Lockhart was a competitive person...and you'd better bet she wouldn't be beat twice. It just couldn't be allowed. "Sometime at the end of the term." Melanie added, with a nod. Not now... she'd build up her strength...

Teehee. With chocolate. Melanie watched her make the chocolate using an ACTUAL pan with a hint of facination in her eyes.... Melanie recalled telling Treyen over break she wanted to learn to bake, and she still did. Now probably wasn't the time though. Now was the time to fill her tummy with Cadence's melted chocolate paired with some yummy strawberries. She popped one into her mouth with two fingers, giving her friend two thumbs up (one of which covered with milk chocolate.). "YHUM. Daht's...dah-dat." GULP. "That's good!" Melanie complimented, grinning cheerfully. "Thanks."

Melanie shook her head at Cadence's next comment. Wrooooooong. "Not true." she imputed, patiently and truthfully. "I'll agree to a toast though...To...To..."

"To Hufflepuff... and good heath." Good heath had to be included, right? People always added that at the end of toasts on movies... Melanie would know, she watched her fair share of movies. She raised her strawberry, bumping it against Cadence's the way people usually knocked their glasses together, and took a substantial bite from it.

Deeeeeeelish.

Cadence giggled at her friend's toast. "Okay, okay. Fine... be humble. To Hufflepuff and good health! AND to best friends!" she ate her delicious chocolate covered strawberry. They sat in silence for a few minutes, just eating their strawberries. mm, mm, good! After awhile, Cadence realized there was something she hadn't told Melanie yet, but she wasn't quite sure how to bring it up. "So, um, Lanie, what are you doing for holiday break? Are you going home?" Yes, we'll start by asking her before telling her I'm spending Christmas in a different country with my boyfriend.
