Sooo, Destiny might have been just a tad bit too excited for this pie. And now with the mention of ice cream, she was extra excited! The smell of apples filled the kitchen already, and she really didn't want to wait for it to be finished. She wanted it NOW!

Patience.

She nodded to herself as Carter went on about cheering. Ehh, she wasn't really in the cheering mood, plus she only cheered for Slytherin. 'Of course! I will be there wearing red and gold too!' Not that she owned anything of those colors, and how would Carter see if she was really wearing that?

Oh..right. He would be on a broom and probably could see.

'Actually, no. I won't wear them colors..I lied.' It was better to admit your lying rather than being caught in a lie, right? 'I don't have anything with them colors..but if I did, I soooo would.' she gave him a small smile before turning to the oven.

'It smells good.'

"You don't own anything red or gold?" Carter asked. Maybe he'd get her a Gryffindor scarf for Christmas next year. That would be fun.

"Thanks." he said. He peered into the over once more. It looked perfect. "It's ready." he said. He turned off the oven. He put on some oven mitts. He removed the pie and set it on a cooling rack that had been set out earlier. "And now we just wait for it to cool a few minutes and then we can eat." he said. He took off the gloves and then sat near the pie.

Mmmm, pie. He loved the smell of fresh pie.

'Well, no.' she shook her head. What was the point in having things that were red and gold? She was not a Gryffindor. 'Too bad you aren't a Ravenclaw. I have tons of blue things.' And she hardly ever wears them. Blue was ugly.

Destiny laughed when Carter put on the oven mitts. 'You look funny.' Which he did. Or maybe it was just that oven mitts always made her laugh for some reason. Merlin! More waiting. 'I'll go get the ice cream!' she said as she hopped off the counter. She walked to the refrigerator and searched through it. Them darn house elves better not have eaten it all..oh, there it was! Closing the refrigerator door with her foot, she made her way back over to Carter.

'I hope vanilla is good. It's my favorite.'

Well it seemed that he was wrong, he was going to like it.

Marcus was tempted to tell the boy that that's what he had been trying to tell him all year but instead a broad smile spread across his face and he gave Jake a wink. "Yes you can. Try and remember that."

He then made shooing gestures with his hands, "Now get your butt back to your common room."

He would wait for the boy to leave before he turned back and finished his pie.

Can't let that go to waste.

Jake smiled too, but rolled his eyes mockingly when the man shooed him off. "I'm gggoing, I'm going," he exclaimed in mock exasperation, heading to the portrait thinger. With one last look back and a smile, Jake rubbed his stomach and left.

He needed sleeeeeeep.

Carter chuckled. "I am not smart enough to be a Ravenclaw." he said. In fact, every time he studied with Mina he was sure of how non-Ravenclaw he was.

He took the oven mitts off and laughed a bit. Oven mitts did seem to make people look silly. So he didn't doubt he looked that way. He then began rummaging through drawers looking for a pie server. Finding one he placed it on the counter next to the pie. He set out an ice cream scoop for the ice cream and waited for Destiny to come back with the ice cream.

"That's fine." he said. Vanilla ice cream went the best with pie anyway. "Alright. Looks like everything is ready." he said. "Ladies first." he said gesturing to the pie and ice cream. He handed her a dessert plate and waited for her to get what she wanted.

'Apparently, either am I.' Destiny mumbled. Everyone else in her family have been in Ravenclaw. And then there she was..a Slytherin. Pffft, her parents were not pleased when they heard that news.

Vanilla ice cream was not just fine, it was great! It was her favorite, therefore it was great. She smiled when he said it was ready. She had to refrain from jumping up and down and clapping. Yeah, that would just look weird doing all that over food.. When Carter said ladies first, Destiny quickly took a look behind her. WHAT!? Who else was he feeding!?

Oh. He was talking about her.. She felt her face go red, and turned away. Blushing in front of him would be more embarrassing than him seeing her cry! When her face regained it natural color, she picked up the server and placed a piece of pie on both their plates. Hers might have been juuuust a tad bit bigger, but hey! she wasn't good with measuring.

Forgetting about the ice cream, Destiny stuck a fork into the pie and as the muggles say, she dug in.

'Wery, wery gooood!'

Oh, how ladylike. She was talking with food in her mouth.

Carter smiled as Destiny looked around when he said 'ladies'. She even blushed a bit! This was not a side of Destiny he'd ever seen before. (Minus when she was trying to get him to free her up.) He had to admit, it was really cute.

He watched as she served up the pie. He noticed hers was a bigger piece. She must like pie. He took his plate and dropped a big glob of ice cream on top of it. He took a seat on top of the counter.

"Thanks." he said happily before digging in to his. Mmmm... pie! Just like his mum made.

Oh.

Destiny knew she forgot something! She was just too excited for the pie that she forgot the ice cream. Well, it just a little too late for that, since her piece was almost gone now. And yeah, she also just now noticed that she scarfed down the pie awfully fast, and it was going to give her a bellyache later on.

But she would think about that later, when it happens. 'So..are you looking forward to the summer?' she asked as she placed her fork down. She WOULD finish the pie, just boys were supposed to finish theirs first. Or at least that's what her parents told her. 'Are you going on vacation or something?'

"A little bit. It'll be nice to get out of the castle for awhile. Especially after... you know... I could use a break." Carter said. He took a few more bites of his pie and ice cream. "No, nothing really. Just a pretty low-key summer for me. What about you? Any fun plans?" he asked finishing up the pie. He took his last bite of ice cream. He looked over at the pie. He wanted seconds.

She stared when the house elf came over with 6 pizzas and lots and lots of garlic bread. They knew how to do their job. Natasha giggled at the very pleased house elf, and it was also funny hearing Blinky call him 'Master Diggy'.

Nat chuckled when he acted all gentlemanly, and she looked at the table. "Oh, any one," she said, not really minding. She grabbed a piece of garlic bread and looked at Diggy with a smile. "You choose." She said.

Destiny nodded her head, telling Carter she understood. She wasn't sure if the summer break would be long enough for her to get over what had happened. It was going to take time, something like that might even take a few years to get over.

She didn't like feeling like this..

A low-key summer was just what Destiny would like, but of course it would not happen. 'I'm not sure what I am doing yet. I'm hoping that I get to stay home, but my parents go away during the summer, so I'll probably be shipped off somewhere.' She just hoped it wasn't to her grandmothers house. Spending summer there would just put her in a fouler mood.

Destiny smirked as she saw Carter eying up the pie. 'Here, I'll get you another piece.' she said as she took his plate away and placed another piece on it. Instead of handing it to him, she smashed it..right in his face.

Paybacks for stealing her wand?

Maybe.

"Somewhere?" Carter asked. "Do your parents not take you with them?" His parents would never do that to him.

"Thanks." he said. Another piece of pie sounded fantastic. But instead of getting handed a plate... he got a face-full of it. He liked the pie of his mouth and wiped off his eyes with the back of his hands.

He smirked. Two could play at this game. He ran over to the ice cream. He got a nice spoonful of it. And then he flicked it right towards Destiny's nose.

Take that.

'Somewhere that involves my grandmother probably.' Ooohhh how Destiny hated that woman. She was crazy, like St. Mungo's crazy. 'They go away for work, being Healers they go to these convention things every summer. Last summer they went to Greece!'

Bahaha! Carter really thought she was going to hand over the pie. Oh, he had a lot to learn. She started to laugh when he was now covered in it, but then he did something she did not expect. Her laughter stopped as he scooped out a spoonful of..ICE CREAM!? Didn't he know how cold that was going to be?

Obviously not, since now the ice cream was flying right towards her, and landed right in the center of her face. Brrrrrr. 'Twas cold! 'Really!?' she asked as she tried her hardest to clean herself off. That was it. Carter was soooo gonna get it now.

Standing up, Destiny smirked as she stuck her hand in the very cold tub of ice cream. When her hand was nice and full, she lunged at Carter and rubbed her hand all over his face.

Ice cream to go with that pie? She thought yes.

Diggy smiled as Natasha giggled, at least that mean that she was enjoying herself and he wasn't making a total fool of himself. He was suddenly able to relax with the smells of garlic bread settling his tummy. He pulled out a slice of vegetable pizza and placed it one her plate. "The elves pick the veggies from their gardens so they are really good," he told her pulling a slice for himself along with a pepperoni and a mountain of garlic bread. "I'm glad you accepted my invitation. That hufflepuff at the game really put a damper on things and I wasn't sure if you still wanted to...you..know..be my girlfriend," he said blushing and promptly shoving a piece of bread into his mouth.

Destiny's parents were healers? "My parents are doctors." Carter said. Not that Destiny cared. But he thought it was a pretty cool coincidence. Did she even know what a doctor was? He wasn't too sure what all was taught in muggle studies.

He chuckled when the ice cream landed on Destiny's face. Score!! "You shoved pie in my face. I couldn't just leave at that." he said.

He watched as she went toward the ice cream. That couldn't be good. He took a few step backwards. And now she was coming towards him. He closed his eyes and felt the chill of the ice cream.

Great.

But wait. He opened his eyes. Destiny was still right there. He wiped off half of his face and applied the pie/ice cream combo to hers. Now she was covered in it too. He couldn't help but laugh. It was like they were covered in war paint. Pie and ice cream war paint. Now that was a war he wouldn't mind getting involved in.

Oooo! Destiny knew what a doctor was, she did! She had watched things about them on the muggle box. 'They are muggle Healers!' she said excitedly. Only they used these very sharp objects to do..things to people. And they didn't give the sick potions, they gave them something else called meldilication, or something like that.

Oh so he thought it was funny did he? 'But I'm a girl and you're supposed to let me win!' she pouted. Now she was all sticky and she didn't like it.

Bahahaha! Carter looked like a snowman with all the vanilla ice cream over his face. She couldn't help but laugh at the sight of him. It was the first time she really laughed ever since the things that had happened in the school were over. She even laughed as he wiped even more ice cream and pie on her face. Now holding her aching sides, Destiny slumped down onto the floor. She would have to call this a draw, since they were both covered in pie and ice cream.

Still laughing, she took one look at the floor she was sitting on, and then her clothes. 'I am sooo not cleaning this up.'

"Impressive," she said at that piece of information. She finished her garlic bread, and picked up the slice of pizza, taking a bite. Natasha was sure it was the best pizza, like, ever. The food the house elves made was amazing. "Of course I'd accept." Natasha smiled. But she frowned ever so slightly at what he started saying. "That didn't change my mind on you," she assured him. "I, uh, I really like you." Nattie said, a bit nervous. "And this is great," she said.

He wanted to get up and dance a jig. "Oh good. I didn't change my mind about you either," he whispered. Nothing could change his mind about Natasha. He heard the nervous tick in her voice and he was glad that she was just as nervous as he was. "I really like you too. You're the first girl that I've really liked." Diggy wondered if his mom was the first woman his dad loved. He would have to ask him that. "Yeah this is really good," he tore into another piece of bread. "So what are you doing for the summer?" he asked her.

Carter was a bit surprised when Destiny knew what a doctor was. He smirked when she said that boys were supposed to let girls win. He continued laughing with her. He walked over to the sink and wet a rag. "Pie and ice cream aren't the worst things to clean up." he said. He wiped off his face with the wet rag and then went and cleaned off some of the chairs and a bit of the floor before tossing the rag into the pile of rags to be washed.

He then went to the sink and grabbed another rag and wet it for Destiny. "So... you want some more pie?" he asked. "And... unlike you... I won't throw your face into it."

'Oh I know something that is worse to clean up.' How about kitty litter boxes? Twelve of them in fact. Stupid grandmother and her being too old to use a wand. She couldn't help but laugh when Carter started cleaning up the place the muggle way. Since the whole having doctor parents didn't give it away that he was a muggleborn, this did. Not that she had a problem with that, she found muggles quite fascinating.

'Thanks.' she said taking the rag off him and standing up. She wiped her face off and sat back down on the stool. 'No.' she answered perhaps a little too quickly. Oops, did that make her sound like she didn't trust him? 'I mean I don't want any because I am full..not because I don't trust you, 'cause I do...'

Merlin, she was blushing again..

"I'm glad," she said. Nattie hadn't thought that he might've changed his mind about her at the time, but still, hearing it felt like a relief. Strangely. "You're the first boy I've liked." She smiled. She had another bite of pizza, it was just so good. "Oh! I'm going to see my cousin." Nattie said brightly, her excitement showing. She'd gone the whole year without seeing Tammy, and she was like a sister to her. "What about you?"

"Yeah. Most things are worse to clean up than this." Carter said. Like crayons on the wall. That involved a bit of scrubbing. Too bad he couldn't use magic at home. That would make Anya's messes a bit easier to clean up. He noticed that she was laughing. Did she find cleaning funny? "Did I miss a spot?" he asked a little confused.

He smiled at Destiny. That girl had gone through a lot of emotions in the past 30 minutes. There was some crying... some laughs... a pouty face... and now she had blushed twice and said she trusted him. The more he hung out with them the more it was clear to him. Girls were weird. There was no way he'd ever understand what was going through their heads. "Thanks..." he said not knowing how to properly respond to that. "I trust you too..." he said. "That is... except when you offer to get be pie... I don't think I'll believe that ever again." he added with a laugh. "And you sure you don't want anything?" he asked. "There's more ice cream. And it's vanilla. I know that's you're favorite." And he knew that because she mentioned it like 30 minutes earlier. But know he knew. You know, in case he needed that in the future.

While waiting for her to respond he took another piece of pie and a bit more ice cream. He then looked down at the remaining pie. They only ate about a third of it. "Do you know of anyone who'd want the rest of this?" he asked. Maybe she could take it and share it with her friends.
