Tibi couldn't help but grin as Jake clipped the butterfly clip into his hair. "COOL." Sure, it wasn't a butterfly, but it was butterfly-shaped and Jake had made it.

"I want one. If you make another, that is." And he'd totally put it in his hair. Cause, like... that's what friends do. Only, he hoped Jake wouldn't make one, because that would mean that he was getting better.

Hmph. Torn.

Looking up at the clouds, Tibi's mind wandered, so as he waved his wand and uttered "Papilio," all that came out was a butterfly-shaped puff of smoke that floated away.

"Oh. Huh." Tibi scrunched up his face, a little displeased. Concentrate.

Looking again to the pink hair clip, he giggled. "Your turn."

Georgie shook her head, "No no, go ahead. I kind of want to think for awhile. I promised Rex I would." she winked at them both then nodded. "Thanks Kay, I might find you later to talk about it." she smiled at her friend and slowly pumped her legs. Moving slightly.

" Look, I want all "The Magical five" to go to the party together" Rex insited on it. " We are all friends and what a way to show our frienship, hand in hand skipping to the party" Rex laughed. " I know you girls have a sixth sense about relationships, but this time I just may be tuned into the love of a boy and a girl" Rex explained to Georgiana.

" Kay, I meant you are younger not a little girl" rex explained to her. Rex hugged her. " I will go up to my common room to think of games we can play" Rex told Kay. " Georgiana and you must do the inviting of boys and girls to the party because I only know Barry as part of "The Magical Five" Rex told Kay.

"Ok, I will look for you when I get back." Kay said to her friend. She didn't want to push and she would be there if Georgie needed her. "See you later." Kay turned back to Rex.

"I understand." Kay said as she listen to Rex. "Umm you don't want to go with me? Ok, I guess I will see you later." Kay turned and ran to the owlery. She had thought he would have wanted to come.

Aw, man. Jake could really do with a mirror right now. He probably looked really distinguished and everything. Poking his tongue out between his teeth, Jake apparently tried to concentrate FOR Tibi as the boy tried to create a butterfly... And he didn't. BUT that smoke was more lifelike than his hair accessories, no?

"Okay," Jake nodded to himself, looking ludicrous with a serious expression and a pink girly hairclip in his hair. The boy held up his wand and bounced excitedly. BUTTERFLIES! He'd try and make another hairclip later. "Papilio!"

But it seemed he didn't have to wait. His wand fired off five different little hairclips, each more lifelike than the last. (Jake had nearly been knocked bakwards again, but he locked his legs around the monkey bars just in time).The first clip was uncannily like the one he had in his hair now, and the last just looked like... well... a butterfly coated in plastic.

But it wasn't that.

And they were so COLOURFUL!

"Tttake thuhh-three," he grinned. Now they could each have three clips. "I duhh-don't th-think I cccan muhh-make living thh-things yet," Jake pointed out, finding it quite funny. He liked it this way. Now he wouldn't panic about the butterfly going all... mutant or... dying. Well... maybe one more go...

Right on!

Tibi giggled as he accepted his three clips and sat up. His hair falling in his face once more, he shook his head. "Just in time." Using the first clip, he pulled back the eye-covering hair and clipped it away from his face. "There. Now I can see." He giggled again.

He used the second clip to make it extra secure, and the third?

Clipped it to his tie.

"When you picture it? Try to picture it flying. I think it helps get a real butterfly," he offered. At least, that's what he'd thought. But maybe it worked different for different people.

Facing forward again, he furrowed his brow in concentration. "I'ma make a Hufflepuff colored one," he nodded. Cause, there were butterflies that color, so like, it would be easier than trying to make a blue and bronze one, yeah?

Tibi thought really really really really hard, imagining a yellow and black butterfly flitting around their heads.

"Papilio!!" Tibi lurched forward a little, almost toppling off the bars as a stream of numerous yellow and black butterflies shot out of his wand and circled their heads.

Eyes wide, he regained his balance and turned to Jake. "Uh. Totally unintentional. But COOL!"

Picturing a real butterfly? That... made alot of sense. Yes. Jake had so far been imagining pictures. Thinking of moving things was more confusing.

Whilst he was thinking, Tibi had started with his butterflies, and once again, Jake nearly fell down. This time, Tibi nearly did too... so it was okay. He wasn't just being clumsy this time.

Maybe.

Focusing on the many many many many many butterflies flitting around, Jake gaped, wonder-struck. "Wowwwww..." he whispered, staring at the prettiness, especially the way the sun kind of shone through the yellow of the wings.

Amazing.

"Th-that is sssso cuhh-cuh-COOOL!" the boy agreed, now more confident about trying again. Picturing one of the butterflies above, though in a bronze and blue colour, Jake frowned in concentration.

Here goes nothing.

"Papilio!" he almost shouted, hoping with all his might and willing a real butterfly to show up.

At first, he thought nothing had happened, but then... Jake saw it. A tiny all blue butterfly fluttering around the end of his wand. Teeeeny tiny... but THERE. Jake sat with his mouth wide open... he'd done it.

He'd.

Done.

It.

...

And now he was SUPER tired. "Merlin..."

Maybe they should try another spell now.

"Any oth-other ssspells?" Jake asked, his words slurring around a little because of his tiredness.

Dude. He'd totally done it.

Tibi leaned forward and squinted, focusing on the very tip of Jake's wand. There it was, teeny tiny, but there. An itty bitty ravie butterfly.

"Jake," he whispered. "You did it." He looked back up at his friend, registering just how tired the boy was.

"Erm, take a break? I wanna send the flowers to mum." Tibi holstered his wand, brushed a butterfly away from the butterfly clip in his hair (they were trying to make friends, it seemed), grasped the bar with both hands and flipped over the edge, dropping to the ground.

He looked back up at Jake, grinning, before pulling a whistle out from under his shirt.

Weeeeeeet weet weeet he blew into it, a shrill whistle echoing over the grounds. Turning to face the castle, he watched as his owl flew toward him. "We trained this summer. She answers my whistle now," he explained to Jake, sticking his arm out, waiting.

When she arrived, he ruffled her feathers affectionately. "Take these to mum, ok? Oh... wait." Tibi dove to his bag, pulled out some parchment and scrawled a quick note. "This too."

Oh wait. No twine. Looking down to his shoes, he was struck by brilliance. Shoe lace. Pulling it out of his left shoe, Tibi used the shoelace to tie the letter to Pidg's leg, and the flowers to each other. "Ok. Go now." He nudged her and she took flight.

"Papilio!" Tibi cast the spell one last time, sending a blue butterfly following after them, though he knew it might not go the whole way.

Turning back to Jake, he looked up and smiled. "Wanna try stuff from last term?"

Vashti went down to the playground area, wanting to practice her Transfiguration spells for her homework. Once she got there, she noticed many others practicing as well, and she had to grin at all the butterflies floating around and all the pretty flowers. Time for her to add her own supply of butterflies and flowers!

"Papilio," she said, imagining a purple butterfly in her head. And then...there it was! The butterfly hovered a few inches from her wand before flying off, probably in search of a flower to land on. Still grinning, Vashti watched for about a minute or two as the little insect flew away before finally turning her attention back to her practice.

Why had nobody told him how tiring this stupid magic thing was. Jake screwed up his face, balled his hands into fists and rubbed at his eyes, feeling no less tired than he used to when he didn't have a nap during the day, for example.

"Jeez," the boy muttered, opening his eyes again and watching Tibi send his flowers and letter to his mum. N'awwww... Jake'd have to send his in like a box or something (he wanted to send the blossom too).

Heh. A whistle for an owl. Epic. "My cccat comes ter muhh-me wh-when I whhistle huhh-him..." Jake replied, rubbing at his eye again. Where was Lolcat anyway? Lazy thing was probably asleep. Bless.

Hearing Tibi's suggestion, Jake immediately flushed a dull pink colour and looked up at the castle. What the heck had they been taught last term? "Errr..." Jake rubbed at the back of his neck, looking awkward, but still he didn't lose his good mood. "Yuhh-you're gggonna huhh-have to hhhelp mmme out wuhh-with th-that... Whhhhat did wuh-we lllearn... then?"

"I dun think I ever met your cat," Tibi said plainly as he climbed back up the bars and lay across them, wand in his holster.

Treading delicately with his words, Tibi rolled on his side. "I can do that, sure. There was some stuff in defense, like shield charms and ropes and expelling wands. And then there was transfiguration with the making chess pieces move, and then.. um... " Tibi paused to think. There were others, he just... couldn't remember either. He was going to need to look at his notes.

"We dun need to do them now, though," he yawned. "Unless you wanna?"

"He's a ruhh-recluse," Jake commented vaguely, following Tibi's progress back onto the monkey bars and tucking his own wand back behind his ear. Listening to what the boy said, Jake thought hard. Hmmm. They couldn't really practice Defence Against the Dark Arts now, or they might get in trouble for duelling. Drat. Where was the Duelling Arena when you needed it?

Though... Jake was still happy with not going near there again. That was where he'd been found that day he left for...

"I thuhh-think... we shhhould just relax nnnow," the boy stated, draping himself over the bars, the flowers he'd made resting on his stomach as he lay looking up at the sky. "I cccan do muhh-magic..." he whispered to himself.

Jake Upstead was not a squib.

"Dddid you sssign up fuhh-for Quidditch in thuhh-the end?"

Jake hoped so; Tibi was a promising flyer.

Tibi watched the clouds as Jake suggested they relax. That sounded like a fantastic idea. "Sounds good to me."

Tibi wished he knew how to conjure a pillow or do a cushioning charm or something. His head against the monkey bars didn't feel all that great, but he wanted to watch the clouds.

He smiled as Jake spoke softly, not letting his friend know that he'd heard him. It made him feel good that his friend was doing better.

"Yep. Terrified about it, too. I still get all queasy and shaky on my broom. But I'll get in the air." His voice shook a little, betraying his lingering embarrassment. "It's a start."

"Wait up, I will go with you to the owlery" Rex told Kay. " You might find a new boy, then love him insread of me and that would hurt" Rex laughed. He hoped Kay got the joke.

Kay stopped and turn to watch Rex catch up to her. "I thought you were going back to your common room? You can if you want." Kay didn't want him to think that he had to be with her. 'new boy?' Kay looked at Rex sadly "I don't want a New boy, just you." She smiled.

" I want to go to the Owlery with you " Rex told Kay. " I was just making a joke, honey about a new boy" Rex explained to Kay. " There is no one else for me and I can see by your re-actions there is no one else for you, we make a perfect pair" Rex told Kay. He hugged her tight. Rex whispered to Kay" Sorr, the joke hurt you" Rex kisse Kay's cheek.

" That's a pretty butterfly.. Nice job." Loretta jumped off the monkey bars and landed on her head before doing a somersault right over the Ravenclaw that had arrived." Loretta Silvin." She stuck out her hand slightly nervous as she used the other one to brush herself off..

"You'll hhhave no tuhh-trouble," Jake said confidently, beaming up at the sky as a light breeze blew his hair in different directions. The boy let his legs dangling down below as he lay still on the bars, one of the rungs just under his knees.

If Jake kept his face turned slightly one way, he couldn't see Hogwarts even out of the corner of his eye. It felt like he was hanging around at the park with a mate. But... no matter what he felt about Hogwarts...

"There's always a bright side," he whispered, and he didn't know if he was talking to himself or Tibi or someone that wasn't even there.

And then, as though shaking himself out of a daydream, Jake looked around at Tibi. "Huhh-how's things buhh-been so ffffar."

"I hope so," Tibi sighed as he closed his eyes feeling the breeze blow over him. He was getting increasingly nervous about tryouts. He wasn't sure which was worse, making the team, or not. It had been something to get him on his broom, but what if he had to fly all term?

Scary.

Jake's stutter-free statement barely reached Tibi's ears, but he did notice it. Smiling, he opened his eyes and turned his head to face his friend, hanging there above the ground.

"Things are.. ok. Pretty calm, which is good." Calm was really really good. Especially after last year.

"How about you?"

Tibi recalled that the last time they'd had a conversation like this, they'd both talked about going home. And truth be told, he was thinking about it, but Jake seemed so happy, he daren't mention it.

" I would never miss a party of " The Magical Five" Rex told Kay. "Do not worry, I am in love with you and no one else" Rex said to Kay.
"So let's head off to the owlery" Rex smiled at Kay.

Kay hugged Rex back and didn't want to let go. "I just don't want you to think that I want someone else. Your who I want. No one else." Kay said tighting her hug. "I'm glad you want to come with me to the owlery. I'm going to asked Jason if we can come to the castle for Barry's party this weekend. Your going to come right?" Kay said not looking up at Rex. She was a little scaried now that he may not want to.

Kay smiled and pulled back from the hug. "OK, lets go and see if I can find Bandit. He will be happy for something to do." She said pulling Rex with her.

" Jason is cool with me, I know he will let me come to Barry's party" Rex told Kay. "Why would I miss Barry's party?" Rex asked Kay quizzically. " Ok, lets go and find Bandit" Rex said to Kay. " Hewy, I need my arm to play Quidditch" Rex laughed.

Fred walked down the pathway to the grounds of Hogwarts saw someting rather different to him. It lloked like a bunch of people playing on bars, it looked cool. He had never seen anything like it and decided this would be a fun place to do his Transfiguaration homework. He took out his wand and waving it said, "papilio", as he thought of butterflies and sure enough he saw them coming out of his wand and he had no real reaction to it, they were just butterflies, he had conjured way bigger things before.

If I were a butterfly... Hum de dum de dum de duuuummm. If I were a butterfly... blah blah blah blah blah blah blaaahhhhh.

It was quite odd how songs or tunes you have NEVER heard of, could so easily pop up in your mind and stick like extremely strong glue. It was crazzzeehh. Ever since Transfiguration class, Livvy has been filled with butterflies... ALL OVER. In her stomach. In her head. In her eyes. In her toes. In her hands. EVERYWHERE. She saw butterflies... EVERYWHERE. She thought of butterflies... ALL THE TIME. Pshhttt.. Hello? She even DREAMS of BUTTERFLIES. It was crazy. It was insane. They were pretty and all, but they were getting to her. TOO MUCH. Livvy felt like her head was gonna explode and when it did so, flocks... and flocks.... and FLOCKS of butterflies were gonna come fluttering out.

She sat down on a swing for a moment, thinking. Mhm. What if she were a butterfly? There she went again... but still... What if she were a butterfly? She could just fly off and flutter away from any troubles. Hide away in class perhaps.

And then. Livvy didn't know what came over her. She pulled out her wand, swished it, and said the incantation for conjuring butterflies. Oh merlin. "Papilio!" BUTTERFLIEEEEESS. What was the world coming to?

Oh well. They were rather beautiful blue butterflies.
