Celandine turned around slowly and gave the man a vapid look.

"I think... I'm lost?"

Or something? She blinked a few times and then shuddered. It can't have been just her that thought this guy was totally creepy. Cela lifted her chin and eyed the door which led to the pub proper.

"How many free butterbeers have you given to students, sir?" Harmless question, right?

"Lost, my foot" he snorted moving further into the room and closer to the young girl and making sure to block the doorway. Samuel wanted to know why she was in here, snooping around.

Samuel looked perplexed for a moment. What did that have to do with anything. "Too bloody many" he grunted. "Ya think I like givin away free stuff? How's a person supposed to make any money when they're givin away free merchandise." It was that stupid Edith...Edna...whatever her name was. It had been her idea to give away free stuff. Certainly not his.

"Now if you're done with the questions, I suggest ya leave the way ya came in." Samuel raised his wand and pointed it at the back door.

Bloody kids!!

"You don't have to give away free butterbeer." Celandine whispered. "Theres another reason isn't there? It isn't about the butterbeer at all." Right? She peeked around for the crates, having an intention to look and see if the bottles had been tampered with.

Cela twitched a little at the sight of the raised wand and cautiously drew her own, trying to be discreet as she took a step backwards towards the door.

Mina looked up and noticed the pubkeeper. She had completely forgotten to order something when she walked in. She was a bit parched and did need a drink. Wait, she had a coupon! Only problem, she didn't have it with her.

Reaching inside her bag, she found her little black coin purse. "Oh, yes sir. Could we possible get two butterbeers?" she asked politely as she pulled the tiny purse out of her bag. She have enough on her to actually pay for them. The coupon would just have to be used on her next visit or something.

"What in Merlin's name are you on about kid?" Samuel had no idea what she was talking about. What other reason would there be? "And for your information, yeah I do have to give away free butterbeer. I was outvoted and since I don't actually own this place because the old bat down the road does, then I have to do what she says." And why was he explaining all this to her?

Oh and now she'd drawn her wand. Samuel smirked as he lowered his own wand. He hadn't been threatening her, just merely showing her the door.

The same door that she had entered but seemed reluctant to leave the same way. And what was she looking for?

Samuel was starting to lose his patience with her, "Okay, I have asked you nicely to leave. If you don't remove yourself from the premises I am going to have to call the authorities."

Celandine shook her head not relaxing when the man lowered his wand, though she hadn't brought hers to bear anyway. She was so sure he was lying, whoever he was.

"Call the authorities." Cela challenged him, a slightly crazed look in her eyes. "I'll tell them what I know and they'll investigate you anyway."

Of course they wanted butterbeers. Samuel muttered under his breath and accioed two bottles of butterbeer and slammed them onto the table. At least she was paying for them.

"That'll be two galleons." Nothing else left to say really.


This girl was barking mad and the look in her eyes confirmed as much. Samuel rubbed his chin and smirked at the girl again, "And what exactly do you know?"

What were they going to investigate?

That the pub could do with a good clean?

Celandine didn't like the look on the man's face, or the question he asked. It was uncomfortable that she had very few facts to work with, she liked facts. It was all feelings right now and suspicions.

"People are getting hurt." She knew that much. "And its something to do with this place. And with you." She took another backwards step towards the door not willing to take her eyes off the bartender. If thats who he really was.

Pulling out three galleons, Mina handed them to the pubkeeper. Since she was paying for them, she might as well tip. Something was telling her, most people probably came in with the coupons and didn't tip. A single galleon wouldn't make a big difference or anything, but at least her conscience was at ease.

Reaching for the bottles, she slid one over to Ella. "Thank you, sir." she replied. He looked like he didn't want to even be there and grumpy to boot, but that wasn't going to really stop her from being polite anyway.

The girl was definitely off her tree and Samuel had, had enough of this crazy talk. Moving very quickly so that she had no time to react, he seized her by the arm and began dragging her out the back door.

"Now you're accusing me of hurting people" he said harshly, "I hope you've got proof because not only am I going to tell the authorities that you were trespassing but I'll have you for slander as well." Samuel pushed her through the door and out into the alley behind the shop.

"Yeah, yeah whatever" Samuel muttered as he snatched up the money and headed back to the bar, pocketing the tip as fast as he could.

As Cela got dragged outside, her prefect badge came loose, falling off in the alleyway. A small distance later she lost her wand too.

And then she was gone.

Gabriella's eyes flickered towards Constantine, and for a moment, she wondered if she'd be greeted with the same smile the groundskeeper gave to Ili. Constantine and Gabriella had, after all, not really gotten off on the right foot, so to speak. They'd had sort of a shaky introduction.

Just when she thought all hope was lost, she got that smile, as well. Her own smile widened in reply, and she turned towards Max, waiting to see if perhaps he minded the company. Again, she didn't think either did mind, but she'd wait anyway.

Shaking her head and smirking, ALexa said, "You know what they say about attracting more flies with honey... maybe you should keep that in mind, barkeep. You are far too grumpy!" Oh how she enjoyed messing with this man! She finished off her butterbeer and dug in her money pouch for a few more Galleons and said, "Another butterbeer, please."

Why was she here?

Because of Shiny, yes.

Gold had no idea why the kid wanted to see THIS place, but the kid did, and now she was walking through the door of the Hog's Head, red hair pinned at the back of her head.

There were reasons she had never stepped into this place, before. Reasons such as the ... ornamentation, at the door.

"One butterbeer, please?" she asked the man at the counter, as she scanned the place with a pair of green eyes. "No wait, make that two. Please," she added, to sound more polite.

Right.

Just when he thought the girl couldn't get anymore annoying, she opened her mouth and came out with that.

Samuel reached down and grabbed a bottle of butterbeer and slammed it onto the counter and sneered at the annoying little pain in the butt. "And I suppose talking to you is go to put me in a better mood is it?" He doubted that very much. Now if she was to leave then he would be in a much better mood.

"And that'll be two galleons" he said holding his hand out for the money.

Samuel gritted his teeth and reached down for another butterbeer...oh no...make that two butterbeers.

Placing them onto the counter with a loud thud, Samuel gave the girl a surly look. "Two galleons" he grunted and holding out his hand.

He was not doing this ever again.

Bwahahahaha! Alexa loved to egg on the grumpy old barkeeper. It was so often the highlight of her day. Tossing three galleons into his waiting hand she smiled. The least she could do was tip the guy if she was going to sit there and bother him so. Ah the amusement!

"Look... I don't know your name so I am going to call you Grumps. Look, Grumps, I never said talking to me was going to do anything for you, but maybe you could do with being a bit nicer to people, ya know," she said to the dude before rubbing the sleeve of her coat over the rim of the butterbeer bottle and taking a swig.

UGH.

How rude could one possibly get? Without a reason, too. Gold was already in a bit of an unhappy mood and this man, well, he just made it sort of worse. More cheerless.

To begin with, she did not really want to be here. Plus, it wasn't like she wasn't paying for those butterbeers. "You could be a bit politer," she said quietly, as she placed two galleons on the counter. "Thank you," she added, as she picked up the bottles. She didn't want to sound too grumpy.

Why was he so grumpy, anyway?

Bad day, this.

Lina had overheard the the Hogs Head was allowing students and for some reason that sounded perfect. She had been looking through old newspapers over most of the summer, and finally found another image of the woman she assumed to be her ancestor. From the article, it was during Voldemort's second rise to power. However, the woman in the picture hadn't changed. She thought this was especially odd seeing as how the woman looked nearly like a teen in both pictures, and she was coming out of the Hog's Head as if it were nothing.

As she slipped into the Hog's Head, she felt a strange sense of peace and familiarity. It was almost as though she had been there before. Maybe she had in another life. She shrugged it off and made her way to the counter as though it were something she did every day.

Torin was walking by when he saw a shock of red hair coming from inside one of the windows at the Hogshead.

This was rather.. surprising.

There was as much of a chance that he would see Gold in there as he would see Brody, and he was pretty sure his girlfriend would rather die then step inside here. Heck, he had never been inside this place.

He headed towards the door, and stepping in went straight for the redhead. "Interesting place to find you, Miss G."

Right.

So Candy had NOT showed up, and Gold was going to POKE her in the eye, or something, for that. The fifth year frowned, eyed the two butterbeers on her table, and checked a sigh. Which was when a person she knew quite well, walked in.

"Well, I'm not surprised to see you here, Mr. T," she said, smiling despite her grumpy mood. "I bet you come here, as often as you can." Why couldn't she ever stop teasing him?

No idea.

He smiled at her and rolled his eyes. "Not my kind of place. I'd rather go to Puddifoots than here. At least they have good cheesecake."

Then he noticed Gold looking down at two butterbeers at her table. "Who you waiting for? Denver?" If it was Denver, he was going to need to have a talk with that boy. You don't take girls like Gold out for dates in a place like this. And more than that, you don't make them wait for you.

"Don't try to hide the truth, Mr. T," Gold said, laughingly. "I know your little secret now, and I'm going to tell everyone. Unless you give me your Nemo toy, of course." Hehe.

Her brow shot up at once, when he asked if she was waiting for Dylan. "Torin!" She gave him a look. "Do you really think Dylan would make me wait for him, at a place like this?" Bad Mr. T. Bad Mr. T! "I'm waiting for a hyper, little first year who wanted me to, umm, give her a tour of this place." Err, yes. "... and who has apparently decided not to show up." Yes, Gold was NOT happy about that. Not at all.

"Which reminds me, I've been carrying your Christmas present around, because I never get to see you anymore." She looked at him, and crossed her arms against her chest.

He rolled his eyes again. She was not getting his toy. No one was because it was his.

"Oh, okay. Sorry." He smiled and sat down in the seat since the First Year wasn't coming. "I just didn't know who else you would be waiting for," he explained. Then he picked up the butterbeer and started to drink it. Might as well. Better not to waste a good drink.

He put the glass down at her next comment though. "But it's Valentines Day, Goldie. People might get the wrong idea." Obviously joking.

Gold raised an eyebrow. "I could've been waiting for a friend," she pointed out. "Admit it, Mr. T, you just like trying to pick on Dylan. You're probably jealous of his awesome hair." She was laughing, so you could tell she was teasing. She couldn't compare Mr. T and Dylan, really. They were both special, in their own, unique way.

"What people?" she glanced round the rather empty place. No one around, really. Except for two or three people. "Ooooh, I see now. You mean him." She glanced at the grouchy Samuel Huxley. "Are you honestly worried about what sort of idea he gets?"

Bwaha. BWAHA!

He raised his arms in mock surrender. "You caught me. I'm just bitter because he has amazing hair. I need to know what shampoo he wears. Did he tell you?" Yeah right. Torin had awesome hair and he wasn't jealous of anything that Dylan had. Torin wasn't really the jealous type. He had only been jealous of Jorma really.

He turned to look at the person that was pointed out to him, and he had no idea who that was. So all was safe really. "I was thinking more of my girlfriend." But he wasn't really worried since Brody didn't even go to a place like this. And he wasn't scared of her.
