Standing before are two very strong and impassible metal doors that form an obstacle that separates you from the outer world. Meant to keep the unruly students (no offense) in and any unwanted strangers out, the gates always remain locked, except for in the cases of Hogsmeade weekends.

Biting her lip as she listened, she nodded her head. That didn't sound that hard. She did need to just face whatever was bothering her head on and all would be better. Glancing down at her bear, she smiled. There was no way she would harm her bear. It was special to her and she would treasure it. "No decapitating of my little friend." she laughed with a shake of her head. "But do you really trust me with your hand? I mean what if I squeeze it to hard or something?"

Right. That bit of advice had obviously been for Kellen, as Raiden had been breathing in juuuuust fine. Straightening up, he cast a glance at Kellen, who was happily still breathing.

Oh good.

And they were gonna keep doing it.

...eeeeven better.

Raiden sighed and stood aside, rubbing his neck. This was far from what he'd expected when he'd decided to do his Transfiguration work. Breathing exercises by Daphne. Heh. He was fully aware that this was his doing. Him not being able to do the spell correctly, because he was all... meh.

At least she wasn't doing it to embarrass him? Silver lining.

Mina bit her lip as she gave Carter's a final tight squeeze. Opening her eyes, she let out a breath she wasn't even sure she knew she was holding and smiled. She felt a little better. Her nerves weren't eating at her, at the moment at least. Turning to Carter, she let go off his hand. "Um, I think it worked."

Kellen rolled his eyes at Daphne's comment, but when she said practice it brought him back to what he was supposed to be doing. What he wanted to do. He stepped away from the breathing group and readied his wand again, "You have fun breathing, I'm going to keep working on Transfiguration."

He gave a polite nod to Mr. Masterson and turned away from them. Just in case, you know? And he'd definitely had enough butterflies. "Orchideous."

She still needed to get all her homework done and get herself on the points list. The over-acheiver in her was not happy and now that she could actually cast her transfiguration spells properly, she was on the right track again.

Turning back to look at Carter, she smiled. "I promise if I ever need a hand, yours will be the first I go too. And if I need anyone, I'm glad to know I can go to you too. But if you like need anything, you can so come to me. We are like besties and besties stick together."

"That's great!" Carter said shaking out his hand a bit. He was little bit surprised at how hard she could squeeze. "Alright. Let's see if it worked. Anything you've been struggling to do?"

Mina tilted her head in thought. What hadn't she been struggling to do lately? She had been a bit of a hot mess over everything. Pulling her wand back out, should thought of white and purple flowers. They usually took her a few times to get right, but maybe it would be easier now. Drawing a circle in the air with her wand, she cast a Orchideous. Right before her now stood a boucet of Violet-White Tricolor Pansies. First try and she got it correct. Smiling she envisioned pink flowers and once again cast another Orchideous. Cherry Blossoms, just like she pictured them. Clapping her hands in excitement, she smiled. It really worked for her, just like Carter said it would.

Turning back to him, she gave him a hug. "It really worked. I'm so happy." she smiled brightly as she let go of him and stepped back. "You are a genius! Has anyone told you that?" She was thrilled whatever was hindering her was gone. Whether is was relieved by the exercise or from the fact they were friends again, she was just happy to be back to normal.

Her side of the family, well my father's side actually, is very open about that kind of stuff. Pureblood or muggleborn, as long as I was happy." she explained. "But the thing is if it was like to my parent's place and my mother was around, she wouldn't be to happy. Her side is still very blood biased. Which is kind of annoying being that they have a lot of veela blood too. But being it was me, I'm sure she would get over it. I have six other siblings and I'm the middle daughter, so the bloodline doesn't end with me. So technically, it shouldn't matter who I bring home. As long as I'm happy, plus father would be happy to see that I'm not so pretentious to let a thing like blood get in the way of my happiness."

She smiled and shrugged give her bear another hug. She wondered what might have brought on the question, but really didn't want to pry too much. If there was more, he would tell her, right?

"So... If you were the only daughter... and came from a very pure-blood family... then things wouldn't be so good." Carter said with a sigh. He had told Marilyn that he understood what her family situation was, but it was still sinking in. And her being gone made him worry even more. At first he didn't mind too much, if it ever got to a point were they were serious enough that he'd have to meet her family he was just going to tackle that as it came. But it was starting to appear to him that he was already in the middle of a situation.

Stopping at the front gates, Sabel stuffed his hands in his pockets and gave her a small smile. "Safety in numbers. It was fun." He gave her a small nod. "Have a good rest."

Bed. He could hear it calling from where he stood, despite how hard the matress was. His fingers touched the minced meat in his pocket, reminding him he still had to feed Merlin.

WELL THEN. If he hadn't stopped breathing Daphne wouldn't have to teach him at all! Grumbling she swished her left arm, ready to perform the incantation when her eyes caught sight of the flowers in Kellen's posession.

Daffodils. "Preeeetty!" she cooed. Gasp! Maybe he was as into flowers as he was into butterflies. Giggle.

Oh better.

They weren't going to keep up the exaggerated breathing.

Raiden let out a sigh of relief and released his wand with a flick. He did feel a bit better, but... well he was pretty sure it wasn't the actual act of performing the breathing exercise that had done it.

Flowers now, and at least it didn't seem like he'd have to produce a specific colour.

"Orchideous."

A flick of his wand produced a handful of... orange... tulips.

...did tulips regularly come in orange? He stared at them.

Kellen glanced over at Daphne's sudden change of voice. They were just flowers? He shrugged and handed them to her, "You can have them, if you like."

He grinned at Raiden's conjured flowers, but didn't comment on them. The boy was clearly having orange issues.

EEK! Raiden Kururugi, charming little best friend, had conjured her favorite flowers! Tulips! Without waiting for him to offer, Daphne wiggled her fingers towards them and snatched them.

"Ooh, they're beautiful, Raiden. I'll have them," she stated before turning to Kellen. "How thoughtful of you, Kellen." Daphne went and took his daffodils too. Arranging them in her hands, Daphne sniffed. "Well, conjure some more! It's good practice."

Never mind that she was totally not practicing.

Mina frowned. She did hate to see Carter like this, but there wasn't anything she could really do to help, was there? "You know, I could always be wrong about it too. I mean times have changed right?" she smiled meekly. She at least wanted to lightening the mood.

Quidditch Yes, that always made the both of them smile. "I actually scored at the last try-out." she smiled. At least she scored once, if that was enough for her to make the team or not, she wasn't sure. At least she tried out.
