Dylan raised his hand, "Is there any chance I can watch? I'd rather learn than do. And I don't want to get dirt under my nails." He couldn't be farther away from his cousin. Sure they both had giant egos. Liked the ladies. But he was vain. Marco liked brooms and yucky stuff.

Marie walked over to the broom rack and picked out a broom that looked like it was in pretty good condition. 'This one should be pretty easy to care for' she thought. Taking the broom she went back across the room to where she had been standing.

Hoping out of her seat Arya skiped over to the brooms and stood before them wondering which one to choose. As she gazed at them she noticed just how diffrent they were.But none of them seemed to fit her, then her eyes landed on a broom to the left of her. Reaching up she realized it was the same broom she had during flying lessons. It had flown well when flying so why not fix it up for the next lesson. She reached up and grabed her broom before walking back to her seat, carefull not to do damage to her broom.

Had she heard correctly? Professor... Vinny?... HAHAHAHAHA. Best nickname ever! Of course, she would never admit that out loud, nor allow a giggle to escape her lips. Professor Vindictus would NOT like that. And Head Girl had to have some sense of propriety and... superiority? ... right? But still. Vinny. Giiiiiggle in the mind.

A broooomm? Livvy was just about to get up but instead, she didn't have to. A broom was already right at her face. It seemed as if Miles had gotten one for her already. Man. That boy was just so sweeeet.

Smiling, Livvy took it. "Thanks Miles. That was very kind of you. You've got a good eye," she complimented, admiring the broom he had gotten her. Not too shabbbbbyyy.

He had barely made contact with the benchseat when he heard they were supposed to go pick out their own broom. Maybe he would be in luck.

Taking care not to get his foot caught under the table as he removed himself from the bench, Sabel squeezed and pardoned his way through the students as he made his way over to the broom he had picked out. Reaching it, he pulled Horus down off the rack and briefly admired the Professor's repair of the tail. He could still pick out a few knicks here and there from his rough landings on the first flight.

Reclaiming his seat beside Kellen, he rested the broom on the table and glanced around at the other students.

Nina stood back up and walked over to the brooms. Not caring much or knowing much about what she was choosing, she picked the broom closest to her. Then she spun on her heel, this made her hair fly and she loved that, and walked back over.

"Hey." She said to Allison.

Oh, is this kid for real?

Max walked over to Dylan and smirked. "What part of 'Broom Care' don't you understand? Of course you're gonna get dirt under your nails because this is a hands-on class, not observation. Do I make myself clear?"

"Obviously all of it," Dylan smiled, "I am only attending this class on request of my cousin." He looked at the older man before him. Yeah nothing that special. "Can I wear gloves?"

Nunually looked at the boy who was near her and she moved her eyes from left to right feeling . She had never meet a boy who did not want to get dirty. She had hand sanitizer in her pocket and she wondered if she should let him know. "Um excuse me I have hand sanitizer if that would help." she said softly putting her hand in her pocket. Nunually had never minded the dirt before, she had loves it in fact because after getting messing it meant a day with mom cleaning her nails and taking a bubbe bath something she missed from home.

Tibi hurried over to the rack and grabbed a broom, not taking much time to look it over. If it were a mess, all the better to learn care on. If not, well, then that was fine too.

Returning to his bench, broom in hand, he bounced excitedly, awaiting assignments.

If only his Mum could see him now. Excited to clean and take care of something. Whoda thunk it.

Miles smiled and looked down at the broom he'd picked for himself. It wasn't as good as the broom he'd gotten last term but then again...if it hadn't been for Ivan being kind for once he wouldn't have been able to get that broom either. "Thanks. I like brooms. They're cool." He turned his over and ran his hand over the tail twigs with a frown. They needed to be fixed HIS broom would never look like this one but then again this was the purpose of this class.

Hearing a grating voice he looked over to fine the ONE Slytherin he didn't like at all. He reminded him so much of his idiot cousin it wasn't funny and.... Hearing his words he frowned. And acted like him too. Why would you come to a flying class to watch?

A smirk came over his face as Vindictus spoke to Dylan and he tried not to giggle. If only it could have been his cousin.

"No. The chemicals used to treat the gloves will ruin the magical properties of the handle polish. You're gonna get your hands dirty and you're gonna like it," Vindictus said and walked away from Marco's cousin.

"Any more complaints from Slytherin House before we get started? No? Excellent!"

He walked around the shed and handed a small box to each student. "What I've handed to each of you is a basic broom care kit. Each kit contains a small container of Fleetwood's Handle Polish, one pair of silver tail twig clippers and two clean rags."

As he spoke, four large work tables appeared between the four rows of wooden benches.

"Lay your broom on the work table and set your kit on the table, too. Open the kit and take out the tail twig clippers. They're the shiny silver objects and they're sharp."

Ian grabbed the first broom he spotted and got back to his seat. And then stared at the boy that didn't WANT dirt under his nails. Maybe girls weren't the only prissy ones.

He dimly wondered what the kid would do for Herbology, as he did as the professor instructed. Oh. Shiny and sharp. His mum would have NEVER let him anywhere close to anything like that.

Yay for no mum watching.

Mina grabbed the closest broom to her once she stood in front of the broom. She didn't even look it over, she would just deal with what she picked.

Walking back to back to her bench, she sat down and looked at her chosen broom. It didn't look all that bad.

She did need to learn how to care for her broom anyway, so this would be a beneficial lesson either way.

Watching in amazement when the tables magically appeared, she was still very amazed by magic, Nina set the broom she had chosen on the table. She set the box down and opened it, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. She found the shiny, sharp object the teacher described and took them out, putting them down in front of her.

'Okay Professor Vindictus.' It wasn't her fault he had such a hard name.
Maybe she should tell him who told her to call him that? Nah, not right now.

Destiny walked over to the broomshed and picked out a broom. They all looked them same to her. Maybe a few more dirty than the other. She walked back to where she was sitting..and now there were tables there instead.

She laid the broom on the table and open the kit that the professor handed out. Where they going to use all this stuff? Destiny pulled out the shineyyyy twig clippers and what do you know? They were sharp indeed.

Dylan rolled his eyes and sighed. He picked up one of the cleaner brooms. And sat back down. Only to get up again with his clipper kit. He laid his broom down and pulled out the clippers. Ooo they looked like nail clippers. He looked at his nails. They could do with a trim. Maybe later.

Kellen didn't want to be sitting next to Sabel any more. Or standing. Working. Whatever. He opened his kit and removed the clippers, idly wondering how long it would take Sabel to have an accident with them. Probably less than ten minutes.

He shook his head, writing it off as a pessimistic train of thought, and waited for Vindictus's next instruction.

Smiling at the professor she took the box with her free hand. She blinked her eyes in surprise a table was magically before her. Placing her broom and kit on the table she did as the professor instructed, opening the box and removing the clippers. Testing them out in her hand she poped a piece of gum in her mouth, swinging her feet absentmindedly. When she was satisfied that they would do her justice she looked to the professor for further instruction.

As the professor handed her a box, she took out her hand from her pocket to take it "Thank you." she said and opened her box which did contain everything the teacher had told her there was in there. Suddenly she saw that four large work tables had appeared in between the four rows of the wooden benches, She did as she was told and stood up and layed her broom on the table along with her box. She took out the tail twig clippers "Shiny..." she said smiling.

Miles couldn't stop the laugh that escaped at Vindictus' remark and coughed with a glance at Dylan. He was half hoping Professor V would take point but...*sigh* oh well.

Taking the box that he was handed he set it on the table along with the broom. He opened the box carefully and searched around for the silver clippers. Where oh were could they....ah there they were. Pulling them out he set them on the table and looked around. Well the only good thing about this was he'd done it before. Good to be in Quidditch last year. Though he still wished he'd gone for it this year but...oh well.

Emily laid her broom on the table and put the kit next to it. She arranged it all neatly and waited for further instructions.

"Don't laugh at me. You loser," Dylan said, punching Miles softly on the arm. "At least I respect my fingers enough to not want them dirty."

Opening the care kit, a small smile touched Sabel's lips as he peered at the contents. This could end up being a lot of fun. Pulling out the tail twig clippers, he turned them around in his hand and lightly tapped the tip with one finger. Sharp indeed. Hopefully people knew not to walk around with these things in their grasp. And with that thought he caught the rather unnerved glance from Kellen.

Blinking he looked over at the other boy and then down at the clippers. Ah, a very good concern he supposed, seeing as he was always tripping all over the place. But there was a difference between the agility and coordination of his feet and his hands.

"Don't worry," he smiled, putting a hand on his broom to make sure it wouldn't get knocked off the table as a student passed, "I've used chicken wire cutters back home before, and I only ever hurt myself...and that was a rare occurance." He hurried to add that last part in an attempt to be reassuring.

Mina set her broom a top the table and moves to open the box, which looked very familiar to her. Carefully, she pulled out the clippers and set them down, awaiting farther instructions.
