Edina was busy tending to Mr. Whiskers who had coughed up a nasty furball right in front of the scented quill display when a group of students entered her shop.

"Oh, hello there, sweeties! Let me know how I can assist you," she called out rather cheerfully and grabbed a sheet of peppermint scented parchment that she placed over the disgusting furball.

"Beg your pardon, sweetie. What is it that you want?" the shopkeeper inquired and then she saw something that made her scream.

"THIEF! THIEF!" Edina shouted and pointed at the Slytherin girl who threw some coins at her and left. "Oh, where are the aurors? THIEF!"

"WAIT! Manners, young man! Don't you DARE throw your money and other things at me! Now get back in here and let me ring up your merchandise. Or else I'm contacting the Headmaster!" she screeched.

"Is there something I can help you with, sweetie," Edina asked the next young girl after calming down. Yes, she was going to write a strongly worded letter to the Headmaster of Hogwarts about the thievery in her shop.

The screaming startled Allison so much she knocked over her multiple shopping bags. Gulping she stared at the shopkeeper and slowly repeated--more for the sake of her own nerves than for others to understand her, "I just wanted to know the bulk rate of black ink...before I buy all of these things..." Allison pointed at the five quills, and the extra one that came for free, the diary, and Premade Howlers.

Whatever the bulk rate was, perhaps it would be better than buying a few ink bottles...

"Oh, was I that loud? I'm so sorry sweetie. Now black ink..." Edina replied very sweetly and went behind the counter. THUD! She opened her catalogue and ran her index finger down the page. "Oh, my! Did you know that there are twenty different types of black ink? So... what type of black ink do you need?"

Allison's jaw dropped, "20 different types? Are you sure? Never mind, I'm sure you are sure...after all you have the catalog there. Um...I just need black. That doesn't disappear or make ugly blotches. Not too watery and not too thick that it will never dry. Oh geez...got any of those?"

Looking over her shoulder for help for Ivory Allison bit her bottom lip. And this is why she liked her mom shopping for her...

"Oooohhhh! You want basic black. Is that correct, sweetie?" Edina asked and flipped to another page. "Icky inky smell or licorice?"

Allison's head almost fell of in her imaginary world from all the nodding. "Yes that one! Um, ew no. No nasty smell. Licorice please! Oh and all take everything else on the counter!" Allison gave a look to all her bags and got an idea. "When you give me my stuff can you charm my stuff to be lighter? I can't...um carry it all."

So far it was two bags of robes...one on each hand. The moment she got the stuff from Quill Shop it would be over and she'd be walking off balance all over the place. Merlin save her...

As Allison went to the counter to make her purchases, Ivory snagged a unique golden looking quill as a gift for her and hid it under her pile of quills and parchments (she'd grabbed one of each) and stationary. Trying to see around her pile,as she slowly made her way to the counter next to Allison.

As she put her stuff down she heard the nice shopkeeper address her.

Her face inadvertently blushed and she hoped she hadn't said too much all at once and overwhelmed the shopkeeper.

Allison walked into the store with a couple of bags filled from shopping at Gladrags. October had finally arrived and she wondered what she would dress up as for Halloween. It was a constant muggle tradition Mrs. Scott, Allison, and her brother maintained. Most of the time the Scotts frowned upon it, however the muggle portion in Mrs. Scott demanded that her children's teeth been filled with cavities each Halloween. With that happy thought Allison skimmed through the quills.

The homework being assigned was heavy and tiring, and her quills had suffered the majority of it. Ink was out, her spell-check ink charm had run out, and her quills points were practically broken. Before Allison could pick up any quills, the Journals caught her eye. Would it be a good idea for her to write a Journal?

Shaking her head against the possible idea of keeping a diary Allison still grabbed the old-fashioned diary, Premade Howlers, Everlasting Quill, Self-Correcting Quill, Spell Check Quill, and 3 Self-Inking Quills--five and one free!~ Tapping her finger against her lips, Allison decided against any of the colored inks. Grabbing a few the girl walked to the counter and gave the shopkeeper a big smiled, "So. I'm taking all these quills. Got six of them, you know, buy five get the sixth free. A Premade Howler Set. Um, I guess I'll take the diary...and I wanna know about the bulk rate of black ink. Cause, ya know, I can always put these back...with the uh rate thingie."

Nicoletta walked into the shop. She'd been in here once before, last term. She picked up two color changing quills, a fragrance quill, and an everlasting quill. She also picked up a bottle of each purple and silver ink. She paid for all of them and left.

Benjamin walked into the Quill shop happily. He looked around at all the different things he could buy. He spotted the journal section and walked over. He stood there for a while, examining things until he decided to grab a sketchbook. He liked to have a place to doodle in. He grabbed a colour changing quill and walked over the cash. He handed over a coupon
paid for it all and left happily.

As soon as she set foot through the door, Ivory was assaulted by her favorite smells. New parchment, ink, and scented stationary.

Again she was filled with the need to buy everything there. Somehow there seemed a reason to purchase everything here. She needed new quills after all, and ink, and parchment, and Spell Check Ink.

Scolding herself mentally, she decided she would only buy something if she absolutely needed it...or if it was really cool.

Like this quill. It was perfect for Satine who had been such a confidant lately, she felt the girl deserved a gift.

Oh and this lovely peacock quill was beautiful for herself.

Now if only she could find one for Allison....

As her eyes roved over the quills on display a sound to her right made her look around. Oh, it was just Allison...Allison!

Gosh darn it. Now she couldn't buy her a present. Promising herself she'd sneak away to buy her one later, she bounded up to her and gave her a bright smile.

"Heya Alli."

"Ivory! Yo!" Hiding the diary behind her back she gave her a big smile. "Didn't hear you come in." Allison was looking all over Ivory's face to see if the girl had seen anything. It was a funny thing to see that the small eleven year old was quite embarassed being caught buying a diary. She had never been the one to write feelings or anything on any sort of paper. Paper was for homework. Paper was for studying. Paper was to gain, retain, and expand one's knowledge!

Twisting one strand of hair here and there Allison shrugged with one shoulder, "Seen Arya around? Gonna meet her soon for dessert..."

OOC: Ooh, er. *cringe* I must apologize. I thought this was one of those shops where there is no shopkeeper.

Benjamin whipped around just as he had his hand on the door. He wondered who was the poor unfortunate that was being yelled at.

But then he realized the woman was looking at him.

Oh. er. Oops.

He walked back nervously and started apologizing.

"Sorry, Ma'am. Really, I am very, very sorry. You don't have to say anything to the Headmaster really."

Geesh, things worked differently in his neighbourhood. He supposed he was going to have to get used to the way they worked around here. See, this wouldn't happen if he'd have started coming to Hogwarts earlier. He would've known not to do that.

Edina pulled out a strange looking notepad and began writing the receipt by hand. "You know that this is such a handy quill. It does all math for you. Quite ingenious, I might say," she said with a cheery smile. "So... your total is four Galleons, eight Sickles and one Knut."

And she began to wrap the items in blue tissue paper before placing them in a bag. "Oh, you don't want to make these items lighter because it will just ruin them! Why, there was this very odd and crotchety man with a mustache who tried to lighten a pack of parchment he purchased. Well, sweetie, he walked out with a handful of ashes. Very tragic."


Edina turned around and looked at the list with a puzzled expression. "You mean art supplies? Sweetie, see the new list of items hasn't arrived yet. But I do have ink, quills, and parchment!" Ink. The girl said ink. "Oooh! You said 'ink'. Is there a certain color you want? We have all colors of the rainbow, scented and unscented, as well as the new line of scented parchments! I tried the chocolate ink on the vanilla paper. Made me hungry for an eclair and a nice cup of tea."

"Oh, that's okay sweetie. Just bring your items up to the counter so that I can finish the transaction."

"Right," Benjamin lifted his things onto the counter and gave the shopkeeper a sheepish smile.

Pulling her bunny back-pack to the front Allison gave the shopkeeper a frown, "Imma tumble over ya know. GAaAaaAAAaahhhhhhhhh..." about to start the real complaining Allison shut her mouth and instead retrieved her four Galleons and eight Sickles. Handing them to the lady she winced and remembered she needed a Knut. Opening her wallet once more she took out the Knut and passed it over.

Shrugging her shoulders she started at all her bags for five seconds before collecting them all. One would go on her right shoulder...yes. The other one on her right arm...yes. And the one she was about the receive, surely she could carry it on her left shoulder. Giving a quick nod to herself Allison turned to the shopkeeper and instead of the much wanted frown she wanted to give to the lady and the circumstances, Allison mustered up a smile.

"Alrighty. I gave you the money. You've given meh meh stuffies. Seems I'm all set. Thank you." Grabbing for the bag and placing it on her shoulder, Allison nearly tumbled over with all the other bags, but managed to balance herself the last second. With an awkward laugh she took one slow step at a time until she reached the door towards the exit.

As the shopkeeper explained that they were art supplies, Ivory let out a laugh.
"Oh art supplies? Well, no worries there. I was just wondering what they were."
Pondering about ink and parchment now, she continued.
"Do you happen to have maybe spearmint scented black ink? And if it's not too much trouble...." she thought for a second. "some Ocean-breeze scented parchment?

"Oooo. Let me take a looksie for you, sweetie," Edina said sweetly and ran her finger down a list. "Nope! Would you like to order some?"

Jenny had heard of scented ... stuff. "Umm, do you have the spell check quills? There is a list..(she dug through her yellow purse ) .. somewhere in here." And hooray, she found it and held it out to the shopkeeper.

"Yes please. That would be lovely." Smiling up at the friendly shopkeeper, she voiced the only concerns she had. "How long do they usually take to get here?"

At the sound of yelling Nicoletta turned. Wait! Does she mean me?! "Oh! I'm so sorry!" she apoliogized. "Here," she handed the shop keeper her merchandise and her coins. "Sorry about that.

Violet walked in the shop. "Hello" she said to the shopkeeper. She started to look around the store and picked out a color changing quill, everlasting quill, and a old-fashioned journal. She waited in line for a girl she reconixed as Nicoletta to be talked to.

Edina grinned as she took the girl's list. "Why don't you use a dictionary? Much more practical, sweetie," she said sweetly and pulled out a dusty box. Her lips formed an 'o' and her cheeks puffed out. POOF! She blew the dust off the box and started coughing. "Ahh...we have some, sweetie. What language?"

"Let's see...about one week. Do you want to order one?"

"That's okay, sweetie. Just beware of Mr. Whisker's furball on your way out," she apologized and handed the girl a pink bag containing her merchandise.

"Is there anything else you need, sweetie?" Edina asked and a faint smell of cooked cabbage wafted through the air as Mr. Tubby nudged open the door leading to the back of the shop.

Wow, this was a nice place. She had to argue that dictionaries weighed 10 pounds and added a lot of weight, but, "English, please." MORE languages? Well.."Oh, and one in French."
