Cadence let out a small laugh at his comment about the girls being the ones to defend him. "I can't imagine why they'd defend you!" she said, her sarcasm evident. She could totally understand what it was about Tyler that would make girls defend him until they're dying breath.

She certainly would.

It got quiet for a moment. Not the awkward sort of quiet, though, that had passed between them many times previously. It was just... quiet. Looking down at the table, Cadence said sweetly and softly, "I'm really glad you came to Hogwarts, TyTy."

Avery walked in and sat in a corner. she took out a notebook and quill and began to scribble down lyrics to a new song she was riting. She hummed to herself as she wrote, tryingto work out the tune.

"Gee thanks," he laughed. But at least he had more friends then those jerks did. Unlike him, they were hated by most people in the school. "Awww, really?" he gave her a sweet smiled and grinned.

Cadence looked up at him at his response, and her heart felt like it was melting at the sight of his smile. She could feel a soft blush touch her cheeks. Biting her lip in the cute, "I feel like there are butterflies in my stomach, and I really want to hold your hand or kiss you right now," kind of way, she glanced back down at the table before looking up at him, smiling, with a soft, warm gaze straight into his eyes. "Yes... really...." and she didn't take her eyes off of his.

Tyler grinned a bit more and leaned back in his chair. "How cute," he smiled and tapped his foot. "So what kind of music are you into?" he asked.

Cute? Was he mocking her, or was he being serious. Ugggh.... he was certainly the epitome of cute, sitting there smiling, completely comfortable. Oh, he asked a question... "Music? I listen to Muggle music, mostly. I like pretty much anything unless it's really derogatory rap, blue grass, or heavy metal. My favorite would probably be acoustic rock kind of stuff. How about you?"

"Anything that has a good beat to it and makes you want to sing along," he said. Yup. Tyler liked to sing sometimes. But he'll never do it in front of anyone. Not even if they asked him to. Nope. Tyler Way wasn't going to sing for anyone.

Cadence giggled a little. "I like to sing, too. When I went to Muggle school, I was in a lot of musicals. What do you like to do in your free time?" Yes, let's go back to small talk before Cadence gets toooo giggly.

"Niiiice," he said and nodded. "I like to soak under the sun and read," he said, with a small laugh. That was basically it. Besides sleeping when he was extremely bored or had free times.

Andi sighed. "Can you at least try to be careful. If you're too bashed up I'll have to be forced to replace you. There is no way, even though you're my best friend, that my mum, or Nate's, would allow me to have a beaten up Maid of Honour."

"Alright I'll try to be careful, I'm not promising anything because I know I'll probably get hurt a little bit, nothing that can't be fixed with magic of course." Raven said as she got up then went over to one of the chairs and sat down, this wasn't going to be easy for her to be careful at all but there was no way that she was going to intentionally get dinged up too bad.

Cadence smiled at the thought of being out in the sunshine. "I can't remember the last time I just... sat outside in the sun... that sounds really nice." Yes, Tyler, let's go sit outside in the sun. Go for a swim perhaps? Yes, please!

Wow, what was wrong with her brain today. All she could think about was Tyler. Tyler, Tyler, Tyler. At least she could be normal around him now. Except when she saw him with the Lucy girl. Ugh... that had definitely been a *facepalm* moment. Hopefully Tyler would never ever bring that up. "So, have you been down to Hogsmeade yet? It's really pretty there... especially in the winter when all the stores are covered in snow. I love the snow!"

"Do you wanna go soak in the sun then?" he asked and stood up to stretch. From his waist down, everything was numb. Finally, the blood started rushing through and Tyler felt alot better. "Nope, haven't been there. But I would like to go sometime," Tyler started walking towards the doors as the Cafe disappeared. "Come on, short stuff,"

Cadence giggled at her new pet name. "Hey! I'm not THAT short. Not for a girl, at least." she replied, with fake indignation. Nevertheless, she followed him out into the corridor.

Cadence had dragged Nate up seven flights of stairs to the 7th floor. She paced three times in front of the blank stretch of wall across from Barnabas the Barmy, still holding Nate's hand and thinking very clearly about what she needed.

A grand door appeared on the wall in front of them, and Cadence, still holding Nate's hand, walked into an elaborately and beautifully decorated ballroom. It was small and oval-shaped, the perfect size for just the two of them. A dark, hard-wood floor covered the ground, and in the corner, an old-fashioned radio sat. Cadence hoped it worked by magic because she had no idea how to use it! And as if the room had read her mind, the song "When I Fall in Love" because playing throughout the room...

but only for a brief moment before it turned off again. She smiled at Nate and said, "So, what do you think?"

Nate was so awesturck that she could think of all this detail for just him. He was speechless. There was even cutesy love songs playing. She just made his month. It was hard to make his day neverless a month. He had goosebumps for once. He took her by the waist and picked her up. He spun her around a few times before kissing her cheek. Then he held her hand as he looked at everything without a word.

"Cad...This is amazing." he said looking back at her.

Cadence let out one of her bubbly giggles that only Nate could bring out of her when he spun her around. "Thanks, but it's not me, really... it's the room." She smiled at him and tugged at his hand, dragging him out onto the dance floor. "So, what dance do you want to learn first?"

"I'm not sure what dances there are. I always thought it was just 'dancing'." he said right before dancing like a crazy fool. Then he stopped and looked at her and said "Like that! Well which one is your favorite?"

Cadence went into fits of laughter at his really... eccentric dance moves. She had never danced like that ever in her laugh. "Stop, stop, stop..." Cadence said, giggling, "I don't want you to hurt yourself. Ballroom dancing isn't like that at all. There are specific steps and techniques. My favorite dance is Waltz, but I'm not sure you'd like that one... it's kind of slow and flowing... it's supposed to look like you're floating around the floor. What do you think of that? I can teach you something else if that doesn't sound appealing. I know Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, West Coast Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha, and Tango." Aaand... yeah that was pretty sure those were all the ones she had studied pretty well. Wow, that was a lot of dances. Hopefully one of them sounded appealing to him.

"The waltz sounds easy enough. Maybe I'll catch on quickly?" he said holding her hands and stepping close to her.

"Oh I'm sure you will! You're good with your feet... I watched you play soccer in Muggle Studies." she said with a wink. She took his right arm and placed his hand between the middle and top of her back, right underneath her left shoulder blade. Taking his left hand in a closed dance hold, she extended his arm out to where it needed to be. Then, she placed her left hand on his shoulder, allowing her left arm to rest on top of his right. "Now, this is called closed position. Right now I'm sort of supporting the weight of your right arm because you don't know where it goes yet, but when you dance ballroom, well, you just need to get used to the fact that the guy does the majority of the work and the girl just moves around and looks pretty." she said with a giggle. "So, in ballroom, it is the guy's job to hold up the dance frame... meaning our arms. Just take a second and get used to how it feels because you're going to have to store this feeling in your muscle memory. I'm going to release the tension in my arms now, and you have to hold the frame, okay?" she asked, and then allowed her arms to relax slightly, hoping he would be able to keep the frame up without her help.

"I don't only have lower body strength. I have upper body strength too." he said not even noticing she relax her arms. "The thing I'm worried about is remembering the steps."

Cadence giggled a little. "Well, that's good because the frame is the most important part of ballroom dancing. It's how the girl knows what she is supposed to do, but we'll get to that in a moment. We're going to start with the basic box step." She positioned her body so that it was off center of his and began explaining about waltz. "Waltz is a 6 beat dance, meaning it's counted 1,2,3,4,5,6 and so on over and over. It can only be performed to music that's in a 3/4 or 6/8 meter, do you know what that means?" she asked, looking up at him. She wasn't sure how much he knew about music.

"Actually, no. I have no idea what that means." he said. He didn't care what type of dance they did. He liked being so close to her.

Cadence giggled and looked around at the radio. "Umm... waltz music, please?" she asked of it, a little unsure. A classical waltz song came on, and Cadence counted the beats aloud so Nate would understand. "1,2,3,4,5,6" she said, in time with the music. "Now do you understand?" she asked. It was essential he understand how waltz music worked in order to be able to waltz in time. The music turned off again.

"Where does the 8 come from?" he said wondering. He was full of questions about dance.
