OOC: Before posting in this thread, you must first have been called back by Healer Ashford. To be seen by the Healer, please post in the Check-in Area for Patients first then in the Waiting Room for Patients and Visitors.

Upon entering the Hospital Ward and Healing Area (either on foot or via mobilicorpus‎), you'll come upon a long hallway that eventually forks into two different directions. You'll want to proceed to the right, the direction that will take you to the Healing Area. Healer Ashford will be waiting for you. It is in the Healing Area that you'll receive the medical attention that will hopefully heal you right away and send you back to classes and your everyday life.

If, however, you aren't able to be healed right away and your character is in a rather serious condition, Healer Ashford will escort you (or utilize mobilicorpus‎) to the Hospital Ward. It is in the Hospital Ward where you will receive further medical attention that will surely heal you and get you back on your feet.

OOC: Once your character is seen and tended to, Healer Ashford will deem them "well" and able to return to classes/everyday life. If your character continues to suffer from repeat conditions, it's likely that he or she will be admitted into the Room for Quarantined Patients. If this happens, you will be temporarily placed in the "Quarantined" user group, and your posting in the school will be temporarily limited to the "Quarantined" thread only.

This would be his second phial of potion, and Gabriella absolutely couldn't give him a third. Not until the other two had taken effect, at least. Three potions in one sitting would really make the boy ill.

Fred gave a sigh of releif wen the nurse fianally said she would give him a potion for pain which is what he suspected he needed from the very beginning and was glad to hear he did'nt take the stregnthening potion for no reason. He watched as the nurse went to her cabinets and smiled when she returned with vial he asumed to be his potion for pain and eagerly grabbed it from the nurse and gulped it down. He instantly felt the pain on his right side subside and smiled up at the nurse and said, "Thank you, that really helped however I do wonder how long the healing process typically is and about how long the potion have taken for the pain on my right side lasts?".

"As far as how long the potion will last, it'll be in your system for about a week. You won't have to come back for a second dose, if that's what you were concerned about," she answered. Seeing that the boy had taken all the medications she could give him and simply needed to rest now, Gabriella decided to officially dismiss him. "Now, if you'll excuse me, Mr. Pelican, I have a few more patients waiting for me. You should go rest now," she added. "Have a good day!" On that note, she smiled politely then turned from the room.

Alright then, Fred thought as he hopped off the bed and walked out the hospital wing leaning on his left side as he headed up to his common room for some much needed rest.

Emily's body floated into the room, her face still sort of blue from when she was unable to breathe, but since her locket moved she was able to faintly breathe, but her breathing was still somehow blocked. She had fallen unconcious in the waiting room and her arm was hanging and sticking out in a wonky direction.

Your PM to me said she's awake now, but your post says she fell unconscious in the waiting room. I'm unsure of her state now, so I'm just going to go with her being awake. Hope this works for you!

While she waited on Emily to take the potion, Gabriella began the process of healing the girl's badly broken arm. With a swish and a flick, Gabriella's wand began encircling the arm. She watched as it slightly shifted, indicating that it was beginning to move back into place.

Emily bit her lip hard, almost drawing blood at the pain, she moaned a little, and flinched at every pop she heard. It was kind of gross, but since she had broken her arm last year it wasn't as bad.

Being the next 'poor darling' granted access to the healing room for Jake. Trailing his bag along the floor behind him, Jake sneezed again... and again, before he held out a hand to a bed to steady him.

Dizzyyyyy... dizzyyyyyy...

Okay... he was good for now.

Until... Jake coughed again, a wheezing, hacking cough.

"Ugh."

As she hurried from room three to room one, Gabriella sang softly to herself. Perhaps she was just happy because the day was nearly done. Or maybe she was just remembering her time onstage in that small "Mary Poppins" role. Either way, the Healer was currently in one of her best moods as she click-clacked down to the corridor.

"Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down..."

On that note, she stopped singing and opened the door, her happy expression fading away as she heard the sound of Jake's hacking cough. "Oh, dear," she said, taking a seat on the stool next to the bed. The boy was ill---that much she could gather. Just how he'd gotten ill and all the symptoms he may or may not have was what she didn't know. "I hear you've developed a cough, but what are your other symptoms?"

Being used to hearing coughing, sneezing, sniffling, and the such, Gabriella barely even flinched when Jake gave another wheezy cough. Confused, she shook her head, nodded, and shook her head again right along with Jake. Eyebrows furrowed, she was about to ask him just what he was trying to say when he finally spoke up and clarified.

"Ahh, I see. What Professor Lupa gave you was probably a Pepperup Potion, which is, I'm afraid, just the right potion to heal what you've got. You just need it in multiple doses rather than in one dose alone," she replied. Sure, the potion wasn't the tastiest in the world, nor was it pleasant to the ears, but it worked ever-so-perfectly when it came to being sick.

Still... warily, Jake took the potion from the woman and nodded. Yup. That was the stupid potion.

Eh. Bottoms up.

Grimacing as he drank, Jake emptied the potion into his mouth and hurriedly clamped his hands over his ears, whch made the steam feel worse... but still. He probably looked like a right idiot.

Still with his palms flat on either side of his head, Jake spoke up again before he even THOUGHT about accepting the last one. "Puhh-professor Lupa wuhh-wanted mmmme to buhh-bring a nnnote to her nnnext class," he explained, looking uneasy. "I thuhh-think... to pppprove I really was suhh-sick and nnnnot tttrying to get out 'cuhh-'cause of the st-... just ttttryinta guhh-get out..."

As heartbreaking as Jake's little pout was, Gabriella wasn't going to bend on her decision to administer two doses of Pepperup. In the longrun, he'd thank her. Despite how inconvenient the potion was to the ears and to the tastebuds, it would end up being just about the only thing that would heal this..."pneumonia," she said, saying the last word aloud.

"That's what this has developed into," she said, thinking the boy had maybe already come to that conclusion. She shook her head at the way his palms covered his ears. She knew it was probably really uncomfortable and embarrassing, but it was also the feel of being healed. "I'll take care of that note for Professor Lupa. In the meantime, though, just let the steam come out naturally. It won't take as long that way."

While she waited for the steam to die out, she started on the note for Professor Lupa:

Merlin, this was so degrading... but already Jake was feeling the benefits...

Though the peppery taste was disgusting.

"Whoever invuhh-vented that sssstuff deserves to huhh-have it ppppoured into thuhh-their ears, so they duhh-do!" Jake exclaimed, a curious feeling now about his ears. Had it stopped yet?

"Thanks," Jake mumbled, making funny faces and trying to air out his tongue. When he heard about the chocolate frog pepper up dude, Jake raised an eyebrow. How could a man who invented something so evil-tasting end up on something as closely related to chocolate as one of those cards.

Jake's eyes went wide and he stared at the Healer, then at the door... then back at the Healer. "I'll wwwwait here," he said quietly, as if the girl might hear him. Like, DUDE. What had happened?! Even though he was still mad at her, Jake wanted her healed first. He'd worry about himself when she was okay. "Guhh-go to hhher fuh-fuhh-first," the boy added, lying down on the bed (may as well) whilst he thought about it.

"Pppplease..."

Eh, just as long as she didn't come in here.

Gabriella figured Jake would take the option that left him waiting a while before his second dose. She nodded in agreement, even though she was still a little leery that he'd jump up and leave the Hospital Wing the moment she walked out the door to head to room two. She took comfort in knowing that even if he did, he wouldn't get far with that hacking cough and possible fever.

"I figured you would want to do that," she said, standing up from her stool and making her way to the door. "I want you here when I come back, Mr. Upstead. Leaving without your second dose will only make things worse in the longrun." She watched him for a second longer, hoping that he was taking her words to heart, then turned and headed out the door.

See... wasn't that funny, and slightly ironic? Jake hadn't even considered making a break for it. He felt better, after all... so the potion was obviously working. Still... he WAS feeling better... so why take it again?

Coughing another time, Jake was a little torn; he waited for a few minutes after Ashford had left, before he jumped down from the bed as qqqquuiiiietly as he possibly could.

Grabbing the note from the table, Jake shoved it in his pocket and slung his bag over his back, swaying a little as he stood there. Diiiiiizzyyyyy...

"Okay," the boy muttered to himself and crept back across the room. Sure if he got injured again soon, he'd definitely have to take more of that nasty stuff... but he'd just have to try his luck. Hoping the Healer wasn't outside, Jake crept outside the room...

... and sneezed.

The door to room two opened, and Gabriella made her way back out into the hallway. She was about to walk into room one to see to Jake when a figure heading in the opposite direction caught her attention.

*ahem*

She cleared her throat loudly to get the attention of the boy who was currently trying to make a sneaky escape. She should have known not to trust him to stay put!

"I'm guessing you're heading off to get a quick drink of water, Mr. Upstead? I just can't believe you would sneak away from me after I asked you so politely to stay," she said, leaning against the wall and giving the boy a slight frown. The toe of her left shoe tapped lightly against the floor while she waited for him to turn around and come back. She should dock points for this little escapade. Really, she should.

That was like the face Jake made when he heard a throat being cleared from somewhere behind him. The boy froze in his very position and, when Ashford mentioned getting a glass of water, Jake coughed a little and kind of half turned back.

"Errr..." he tried, and bit down hard on his lip.

Well... this was most definitely not good.

"Errrrr... oh, luhh-look! here gggoes Puhh-professor Lllllawson... I nuhh-need to... ask him ab-about... hhhhomework," Jake lied quickly, feeling physically sick at the thought of lying... or maybe that was just his feeling ill.

...

Either way, Jake turned tail and tried to run off.
