The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.
Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!

Blushing at the idea of being considered one of the brightest and hottest, Ivory concentrated on not letting her hair shade red as well. It's all she needed, someone to find out what a failure her abilities were.
Deciding to just jump into the conversation before she noticed, Ivory began recounting the classes she'd attended.
"Well, I've attended all my classes of course, but I guess I really haven't been present since my mind has generally been elsewhere worrying about something or other." She admitted regretfully. "But that's all going to change tomorrow... hopefully. I can't wait for Charms."
As she looked at Satine who seemed to be listening attentively, she wondered if maybe she should confide her secret. Her mind felt like a deer caught in headlights at the thought of revealing that side of herself and she decided to be as honest as she could and just let things work themselves out.
"I know I'd probably come across as a 'stuck up know it all' if I said that I'd read most of our text books already, but you have to understand it's only because I grew up in a half wizarding half muggle way of life, although to be honest it was mostly muggle." A small crease developed between her eyebrows as she looked back. "I didn't have a bad childhood," she paused for moment. "Not technically. I just well never fit in, so I was really excited to start school in a place where I could just be myself. Although well I guess I'm still finding out who that is."
"It has been great but I have lots of homework!" she knew that Thomas liked him but they could only be friends because of Jason.
"Well..." Thomas began saying, "That's kinda true that there is a lot of homework but that will never stop us from being friends. Isn't that right?" he asked her. Thomas couldn't think of a new subject to talk about so he thought for a while and said, "Vicky, will you continue learning at Hogwarts next year?" He asked her this question because two of his best friends Laura and Jewel left the school and he didn't now about it.
Dani listened to his story. "Wow." She thought for a moment. "It's just me and mom and Joey and Iyanah. Joey is seven and Iyanah is two." She looked around. The common room wasnt very full today.
O I think it would be interesting to be the oldest. So what is your favorite class here at Hogwarts?

Shaking her head, she turned her attention back to everyone playing Twister. Maybe she would join in on the next game. Everyone looked like they were having fun.
From the corner of her eye, she noticed Dal talking to Choluna. They were talking about boys. Really, boys were nothing but trouble for them, but for some reason they all wanted their attention. Complete silliness, if you asked her. She didn't want to go down that road. She had promised herself and Rex that this year was only going to be about having adventures with friends who happen to be boys and not about finding a boy. She would listen to her friends gush about boys, but she wouldn't join in on the hunt. No, she just won't do that. Better things to do, much better things to focus on really.
Dalanie listened to what Mina was saying out of her ear from a little way away. She told Choluna she would be right back. She walked over.
"Oh yea it was you that got hit with the scales! Woops. I forgot. Marilyn was the one that through the scales and you got hit with them. I totally forgot about that! Boys can wait actually. Do I want one? Duh. Are friends more important? Triple duh." Dalanie could tell that friends needed her more. Boyfriends were so not as important.

Mina shrugged and pulled out some of her texts. "Yeah, it hurt a lot but you know it was all the fault of that potions. But you know it happened for a reason, right." she tried to reason. She was better off as a friend anyway. Marilyn was more the girlfriend type anyway.
Glancing to her friend, she smiled. "Hey, Dal. My cousin wanted me to do something for her this year. Would you like to help me with it?" If Mina wasn't really in the market for a silly boy, maybe what her cousin wanted her to do might help her friend. It was worth a try, wasn't it. Looking around at all the people in the common room, she tried to find a boy that could possible help her.

D listened to her friend she understood that it hurt a lot.
"Of course I would like to help! Anyone that is a family member or friend yours is a friend of mine. And if not, I'll get them to be."

Mina smiled as she continued to look for someone to try her cousin's theory on. She needed at least one boy to write back about and she was not going to even think about trying it on Rex or Carter. That would so not turn out well at all.
"Well, do you know how to do a hair flip?" she asked D. It wasn't that hard but she hadn't mastered it as her cousin had. She did need the practice still. Looking around again, she shrugged and flipped her hair. It was a lame attempt but she was getting a bit better at it.

"I can do it but it's not at all good. Kinda like yours. Were both bad so no need to feel bad about it." she flipped her hair. "Well, I'm like a tomboy-girly-girl thing. I'm like both at once. Or one at a time. It depends were we are. Like if we were at the great lake, I would probably jump in, catch a fish, come up, and rub it peoples faces who I've never met. But if we were at a dance or ball, I'd be in a pretty blue dress and acting all sweet and innocent."

Mina laughed softly as she looked to her friend. D really did sound like herself. She was a bit of a tomboy at times as well. Even though, she was expected to be a lady at all times. That wasn't going to happen. She liked to get her hands dirty and she enjoyed not being all prim and proper all the time.
"Well, I know I need to practice more." she said with a shrug. "But then again, I'm really not trying to be a distraction. I really don't think the hair flip really works but I'm just amusing my cousin and trying it." She actually thought it was mental, but a part of her did want to see if it did work as her cousin swore it did. "We just need a boy to try it on."

"A boy. Hmmm. Knock out Carter *yawns* and past and present crushes. Knock out anyone in Ravenclaw. Knock out Hufflepuff. So... anyone in Gryffindor or Slytherin that is not a friend, *yawns* crush, or past crush. That's who we can try it on." D said in a low whisper. "Uh Mina, *yawns* it's getting late and I have to read before *yawns* "I go to bed so can we continue this tomorrow?" *yawns*
"I might see you when you come up to bed. *yawns* So... see you later." *yawns* said Dalanie and she walked up the spiral stairs to the girls Dorm.

Satine continued petting Gemma in her lap while keeping herself completely focused on Ivy...she could tell already that this girl was def interesting and had a story behind her.
"OOOOOOOO...Charms is a great class. You will love love love it. It's one of my faves, but I have to admit that I'm a huge nerd so I like most of the classes...well I'm not too sure about DADA this year, but maybe it'll grow on me..." she said pushing stray bang behind her left ear.
Satine got excited as the girl began describing her life...how odd that it sounded a lot like hers..."Wow, what a qwinky dink I grew up in mixed family as well...my mom works for the ministry in the Department of Education and my dad is a marketing and advertising exec for some company in England, so I grew up in a little bit of both but I went to school with muggles for a long time." she finished with a huge smile and then continued as the girl finished talking.
"Well, we have tons in common...how awesome..." she said raising her hand for a high five..."I completely understand, when I was younger all the kids would make fun of me because my eyes were always changing colors as well as my hair....and my teacher always thought I was dieing my hair in the bathroom with kool-aid...such a pain...." she paused and realized that story didn't completely make sense if you didn't know more about her..."I'm a meta so my eyes and hair change with my moods...but I like it my signature dark purple....I think it fits my personality the best" she said the last senetence with lots of pride because she was super excited and proud to be a meta.

Ivory couldn't believe her ears, or her eyes for that matter. This girl, this one girl who was in her same house, sitting right in front of her, talking a mile a minute was a metamorphmagus too. Against her will, her hopes began to rise as she contemplated having a friend she could be honest with. As Satine began to describe how she'd attended muggle school and had trouble hiding was she was, Ivory felt a sense of kindred. They were literally two peas in a pod.
Trying to not stammer with excitement, she began talking about it with the first person who wasn't family, in well ever.
"I... Wow..."she stammered. "I just..well it's so nice to meet you then...because well...I'm a 'meta' too."
Immediately she felt a huge weight come off her shoulders and she felt a rush to tell this person everything.
"My dad's a healer but was a muggleborn," she began in a rush. "Although recently I'm not quite sure he was..." She said that part more to herself but then continued. "And he wanted me and my brothers to grow up with a muggle education so we could appreciate it. I was always told that 'Beauty was on the inside' and always scolded if I 'changed' anything for fear of being discovered so.." At this point her voice lost it's animation. "I never really developed my abilities. All I can do is make my nails grow since I always bite them, and sometimes change my hair type but that takes hours." She admitted ruefully.
"I mean my hair and eye color changes when I change mood but not drastically, but that's pretty much it. I would practice with my mom to lighten and darken it, but my dad always thought there was no point to learn yet since I'd only have to restrict it. That's why I was so happy to finally be coming here."
Ivory waited hopefully, praying that Satine wouldn't get up and walk away at her lack of abilities.

Mina waved bye to D, as she walked her friend dissappear up the spiral stairs. She was feeling a bit tired, but she had a lot to do and she needed to get started on it.
Pulling out one of her texts, she got herself comfortable. Folding her feet under herself, she curled up in the chair and started to read up. She had been slacking as of late, but did mean she was doing to give up. She promised herself she would be near the top of that points list and she was going to do it, not matter how much sleep she lost. She's just have to fix in her being social in between somewhere.

Stretching out his long legs O do your siblings get on your nerves? I wouldn’t know much about that my sibling are so much older then me that they weren’t around much. Laughing kindly and with a friendly smile You want to be an Auror now that is an interesting choice. Having to take care of your siblings is probably good preparation for being an Auror don’t you think? What made you want to be an Auror? He tried to fix her with a serious stare something he wasn't any good at.

Ivory waited hopefully, praying that Satine wouldn't get up and walk away at her lack of abilities.
Satine smiled because she could tell that she had something that excited Ivy...she really hoped the girl wasn't going to make fun of her ability because that was def one way to just tick her off. Satine braced for the worst as the girl began stuttering through her comments.... but then was instantly relieved when she heard the girl's revelation....phew that was a close one she didn't really wanna start the term off with having to squash a first year...Satine hated being mean but making fun her being a meta was one way to see the angry side of Satine.
She smiled even bigger than usual, which was hard to do since Satine always smiled. "That is awesome! I'm telling you there aren't too many real metas out there so it's always nice to meet a fellow one." she said as she poked her chinchilla in the side to wake Gemma up.
She listened to Ivy's story and shook her head occasionally to show recognition and that she was listening intently. The whole time she was thinking about the possibilities of having someone else to work on her abilities with. It would be great because she had studied by herself for the past two terms refining it and learning control...but...then she heard the girl's last statement.
"O...well...it's okay that you don't know how to control it yet...it happens...it's taken me two terms to get my control going, but it still changes if something drastic happens....like last term I had deep red hair and I still don't really remember why..." she said the last part quickly and more to herself...the last term was still a blur but it scared her to go ask anyone what that meant...
"My first term here, every time I got embarrassed my eyes and hair would turn a bright pink or red...I have to admit that it was very embarrassing, but I worked really hard over the last two terms to get my eyes and hair under control...." she paused and focused for a minute and her hair and eyes instantly transformed into a deep blue color..."My aunt's a meta too so she taught me this color this summer..." she paused with a questioning look hoping that she wasn't seeming to show off...she was just sooo excited to meet another young meta.
"O it will be sooo much fun having someone else to talk to about this and...oooooo...and....we could practice together!!!! That would be great!!!" she said almost bouncing in her seat.

Happy that Satine hadn't run for the hills, Ivory listened in rapture as Satine explained. She couldn't believe this talented girl had at one point had issues with her controls, and although her comments intrigued her Ivory knew better than to press matters, since she hated it when someone tried to make her past their business. If Satine wanted to talk about something that personal, Ivory felt sure she would.
It was such a nice feeling to not be the only one though. It must have been great having an aunt who could teach you.
She watched intently as almost with no effort at all, Satine changed her hair and eye color to a beautiful deep blue.
"Really? Your Aunt taught you that? That's great, I wish I had someone. All I know is that I'm the first in a really long time, although I think my wand belonged to the last one..." Her voice trailed off wondering on the possibilities of this. It was very possible actually, but that was a matter for later.
"But now...I have you." she finished with a big smile. "It'd be awesome to learn and practice with you."
Emilia walked down the stairs from the girls dormitory, her head ached. She wasn't sure how long she had been in bed for, but by the looks of the scenery outside the window it had definitly been more then a day.
She hated when her emotions took over her rational mind, it always ended up badly and it usually left her horribly drained. Maybe she would go see the school nurse about something for her head.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, she looked around to see if she could see Kellen or Damien.
Damien slowly walked down to the common room, his mind a buzz. First there had been flowers on his bed...from Emilia! then there was the whole scorpion fiasco. His mind hurt just thinking about it all. But how had the flowers gotten there in the first place? Surely Emilia couldn't have put them there herself...there was no way! had she gotten Kellen to do it? Or was it some sort of joke set up by the other boy. He just didnt know. He paused in his thinking to look up, and who did he spot? Emilia, of course.
Deciding to push past matters aside, and best left forgotten for now, he made his way over. "Hey Emilia," he said, stoping infront of her "How are you today?"
Kellen had made extra certain his clothes were in place before leaving the boys' dorm. Last time he'd come down looking like a slob and look what had happened then. He wasn't exactly sure where he was headed, maybe outside or to Hogsmeade, but he didn't want to stay in the dorm any more. Charlotte wasn't a happy camper about being confined, and he only hoped Ian would retrieve her soon.
Damien was on the stairs ahead of him, and he was set to follow the boy out of the common room when Damien stopped and started talking to Emilia. Kellen recalled the flowers he'd conjured onto Damien's bed and wisely said nothing. Not. A. Word. Instead he gave Emilia a casual wave and smile. Damien could talk to her.

Emilia looked towards Damien, a smile crossing her face.
"I'm doing o.k. I guess." she replied, rubbing her temples, "just a headache now."
She noticed Kellen just behind Damien and returned his wave along with a smile.
"How are you two doing??" she asked, "I thought I heard something about a Twister game??"
Because he'd just take a shower, the boy's hair was wet, and his cheeks flushed; the first two buttons of his shirt had yet to be done, and said shirt was untucked as well. It was only until he felt the carpet under his feet, that Ian realized he was barefoot and had yet to put on his socks and shoes.
Hmmm. "Sup." That was his greeting for Kellen and everyone else, for that matter, as the boy sat on the floor and started to work on yanking on his socks.
Damien looked over his shoulder and noticed Kellen and Ian. He noded to Ian in greeting. Waving his hand in Kellens direction, he indicated that he should join them, before turning back to Emilia. "I'm fine, had a bit of a fiasco with a scorpion up in the dorm," he said, shivering at the memory. If he never saw Charlotte again, he'd be extremely happy. The creature just gave him the creeps.
He looked out a nearby window before turning to face the other two. "Hey, either of you guys want to go explore?" he asked, hoping one of them would say yes. He wanted a little adventure, and what better way then exploring?
