"A non magical fellow" Allison rose her hand.

Oliver raised his hand. "A muggle is a non magical person, sir."

Chris raised his hand into the air. "Sir, a muggle is a being or human who has no magical abilities. Example cannot use our wands or our spells. Most do not believe in the existence of magic or are completely unaware." he said with a grin.

Torin raised his hand. "A Muggle is a human that is uncapable of doing Magic. Or at least not the same kind of magic that witches and wizards can do naturally." There was the magic tricks that Muggles did as well as the study of witchcraft, but that wasn't really the same thing.

Well she didn't exactly know if she had to raise her hand or anything but Thalia blurted out, "A person who can produce no magic and has no magical items or abilities," she said taking a shot at it. The explanation wasn't too hard but she wasn't sure if she was going to screw up with this or not.

Arya raised her hand while leaning back on the other."Its a non-magical human." Yea, she thought, this class is gonna be easy.

"Someone who has no magical ability that a common witch or wizard has professor." she said, still snickering. Aw this was going to be a fuuuun class. She could tell. Sighing, finally settling down even though a few giggles escaped here and there, she looked around at everyone else, trying to spot any friends. And when she meant friends, she meant people who did not annoy her...like Kay. Yes, she spotted Kay there...

"Sir, a muggle would be someone with no magical abilities."

Raising his hand and totally avoiding looking at Lawson, Jake said, quite emotionlessly, "Suhh-someone with nnno mmmagical buhh-blood."

He would have said someone that couldn't do magic... but surely he'd be calling himself almost a muggle. Grrr.

"A nuhh-non-magical ppperson cccould be a suhh-squib."

"Sir, it's what we call people who have no magic." Kay said with her hand in the air.

Her confusion grew to annoyance as she heard that voice. And then there was something hitting her head. Grrrrrowl! She turned on her heel to GLARE at the boy and then she hoped to find a spot FAR FAR AWAY from him...but, ofcourse. There wasn't. So she walked over and sat next to him. Putting her bag between the two.

She really tried to ignore the boy, even when he answered first than her. Hehe. "Sir, a Muggle is a person with no magical abilities." She said, raising her hand. Like every other answer that was already said. Sigh.

Pierre rolled his eyes at the simplicity of the question. It wasn't even worth the trouble of raising his hand. His eyerolls grew when everyone else in the class seemed to think that the question wasn't trivial enough to answer.

Gold raised her hand. "A person born into a non-magical family, who is incapable of magic, professor," she said. "The first bit is important because we don't use the term 'muggle' for people born into magical families, who are incapable of magic; and the last bit's important because we don't use that term for people born into non-magical families, who DO possess the ability of magic."

Cadence raised her hand and smiled at Professor Lawson. "Sir, it is a person who doesn't possess magical abilities."

Dalanie raised her hand. "Well Professor, a muggle is a non-magic folk. That means that he or she can't have a wand, can't do any spells, and they can't see Hogwarts or The Leaky Cauldron. They don't have a drop of magic in their blood. If they had a drop, and they couldn't do magic, they would be considered a squib." she was proud of her answer, very proud. Even if it wasn't the best.

Lucy raised her hand and spoke: "A muggle is a person who does not posses any magical powers whatsover, Professor." She hoped her definition wasn't too childish.

Annie smiled back to Professor Lawson and thanked her in a soft whisper.

She listened to him speak about himself, not teaching DADA...obviously, that time was for class, not for explanations, and the professor himself gave the students the look of, don't ask. LOL. Annie's curiousity had to be held this time...

Raising her hand, she answered to his question. "A muggle is a person, who has no magical ability, power...heritage..." Etcetera, etcetera. It was enough to be said, right? "The majority of them have no knowledge of the magical world..." Not really enough what said before, eh...Annie. Tsktsk...

Raising his hand, he replies "A muggle is a person that has little or no knowledge of magic, and how to use it."

Ziva sat there and watched as hands went up in the air, she crossed her legs and slumped over, elbows on knees and head in hands. She waited for something that was really worth answering, most everyone knew what a muggle was.

Oh ho ho. She was glaring. Oliver smiled innocently in response and patted the grass beside him as if to say 'come sit'. Heh. He turned his head to look at her and raised an eyebrow at the gesture of the bag being placed between the two of them. He lifted his arm and sniffed at his armpit. No.. he didn't smell.. not that he was aware of anyway. He turned back to look at the professor, smirk set in place. That girl was a feisty one.

Evelyn ran her fingers through the grass as she listened to everyone's answers. They all forgot to mention that Muggles are awesome. Evelyn smiled. She begun to wonder whether this class would even teach her anything she didn't already know.

Nate sat in the class and didn't anwser even though several others did. He had only gone to a few Muggle Studies classes last term and this term his was etermined to go to all of them.

"Excellent answers and I shall award you all two points."

"And an extra point for you three for your correct analysis and elaboration. A muggle is a human being who does not possess magical blood and therefore cannot perform magic. As Jake, Gold and Dalanie have stated a person born into a magical family but cannot do magic are called 'squibs.'"

Lawson released his wand and gave it a flick and conjured a box at his feet. He opened the lid and pulled out an object.

"Today we are going to be covering some muggle sports, so who can tell me what this is?"

Cela raised her hand. "Muggles are non-magical people that have a history of persecuting us because they were jealous sir. They even killed their own kind trying to destroy witches and wizards. But they do have nice clothes."

She kept her hand up. "Thats a ball, sir! A soccer ball, I know on account of Becca plays soccer."

Ziva's hand shot up, "It's a soccer ball professor." she said with a smile, she loved soccer.
