Upon entering the Muggle Studies classroom you will find that there are no desks and chairs instead there is a huge field of grass for you to sit down on.
Professor Lawson is standing by the door waiting to usher in the students for their first lesson of the term. "Please come in and find yourselves a piece of grass and park your behinds on it." He sincerely hoped that they taken note of the special requirements and worn something comfortable.
ooc: My apologies for the delay, I had a few technical issues this morning.
Ziva nodded her head as she kicked the ball a little bit lighter to Pierre, it didnt' make near as loud of a sound when it found his legs again. "Well, I usually dribble it around the house when I get bored, and we have a lot of breakable and expensive stuff, so I had to learn to keep it in control." Ziva explained quickly as she let out a breath.

The ball hit Pierre's legs lightly and he quickly passed it to Benjamin. "That makes sense as to why you have good control." He never practiced that much, hence the reason he wasn't really good at aiming at kicking hard.
Pierre nodded his head. "Yeah, I'm a seventh year. This is my first year here though. Just transferred from Beauxbaton's." Then Benjamin and Ziva got into a conversation about OWLs. Pierre really didn't have any more input on the subject then what was already said.
Kellen set the football on the ground and looked over at Sabel, an amused smile on his face. Never before had he been allowed to play sports in school, or any kind of game, really. Sure, Astronomy had been a little confusing with its talk of moon formation theory, but then he'd flown a broom around and now he was playing football in the building. How are we liking Hogwarts so far? Very much, thank you!
The kick he gave the ball more of a tap, and it rolled easily from him to Sabel. Playing football was given the all-clear by Professor Lawson, but kicking the ball into someone? He doubted it; rather safe than sorry.
He had to admit, he felt a little silly in his black jogging pants, white t-shirt with a 'I don't do mornings' logo on the front with a rather exhausted looking frog on the back, and his soccer gloves and cleats. The Professor had said comfortable clothes, and these were comfortable; and it was true, he didn't do mornings. Except for mornings with soccer. As for the cleats and gloves, he had brought them along from home on the offchance he would be able to kick around a ball somewhere. He hadn't exactly expected it to be in Hogwarts or in Muggle Studies, but he was beyond thrilled that it was. He missed the weekend games he had engaged in with his friends but decided that this, here, in Hogwarts, might just turn out to be so much more epic.
Tugging on his gloves he watched Kellen with a smile. The other boy looked beyond excited to be playing soccer and he briefly wondered if he had praticipated in the sport before. That was until the ball was tapped to roll along the grass at the pace of a speedy snail. Putting his hands on his hips he watched it with a raised eyebrow.
"You know soccer is about the speed, right Stern?" He wasn't about to admit he was glad that it was moving so slow; it kept him from stumbling over his own feet in an attempt to stop or kick the ball back. He loved soccer, but that didn't mean he was any less of a clutz on the field.
Craddling the ball with his foot he decided it was best to warm up before trying anything that would tie up his feet in a pretzel and so lightly kicked it back to Kellen, the ball moving a little faster than it had previously.
"What! As long as he is alive we win? I thought you said you weren't violent?" She said a little bit loud. The thought of someone trying to hurt Evan didn't make her feel very good at all. Then Josh took off to Evelyn and left her alone with Evan which was just fine with her.
"Yes, let's do that" she said happy that she had Evan to herself again. She watched as he ran with the ball and then suddenly passed it towards her. Watching the ball come towards her she realizes that it is a little off to the right. Running towards the ball she passes it back to him without stumbling this time. The only problem was the ball didn't go towards him at all, it went way off to the left. "Oops, sorry, guess I have to work on direction a little." Now her thoughts wandered off to her practice sessions with Evan. Even though they were practicing together now, she really liked it when they got to practice alone, and now she had a new skill she needed to practice with him, direction.
Evan ran to the ball as he said " 'Tis OK." He dribbled the ball a little, and did a different pass this time: he hit the ball with his tiptoes softly at the bottom of it to get it high. Wonder if Marie would use her chest or her leg, or simply wait for it to fall onto ground fully before sending it back.

Kellen was too interested in the game to scowl. Instead he laughed and stopped the ball with his foot, sliding his leg after it as it rolled away, "Did you not see me in flying class? I was afraid Vindictus was going to give me a fine for impeding traffic!"
He retrieved the ball and nudged it back to where he'd been standing before, "And why do you call it soccer? Aren't the rules exactly the same in Canada?"
He kicked it back to Sabel, only slightly faster than his first kick, and pointed at Sabel's feet, "Are those 'soccer' shoes, Dakest? We're inside, why are you wearing them?" And gloves? How serious was this boy about football?
Chris really didnt have a partner or group so he tooka ball and began to kick it back and forth in between his feet and popping it into the air with his foot.

Sabel laughed, slipping a little bit on the floor as he went after the ball, catching it with his toes and sending it off a good few othe feet. "I did see you. It's like you have a lead hand controlling that broom."
He shuffled the ball back to centre and gently kicked it back at Kellen. "Wait...oh that's right, you call it football don't you?" He shrugged. "I don't know, another name for the same thing. And what's wrong with my --"
He blinked, tilting his ankles to the side to look down at the cleats. Oh. Maybe not the best of ideas. He glanced around before giving Kellen a sheepish grin and going to the side to switch back into his runners. "Bad habits die hard I guess."
He had to remember that just because it was soccer didn't mean cleats were always neccessary, especially indoors.
Miranda glanced up at the giant, and wasn't sure he said something sarcastic or not... But seeing as it was him, then yeah, probably.
So she stood and blinked, looking around at what the others were doing. Oh, okay, not playing the game, just dribbling. Whatever that was. Errr. Miranda made a face like she was waiting for Oliver to show her. Because really, she had still no idea what they were supposed to do. And the professor had showed them...Yeah, that she did not see... "Oh, okay." She nodded. But she mentally shrugged.
Okay, going to stand over heeere. Check. Miranda smiled at Oliver with her eyebrows raised. "Now what?"Kick it to me and kick it back. Check. Miranda took on a usual stance like she would on a broomstick, when waiting to be passed on the Quaffle. Only that well...she was on the ground now. "Ready!" She called out quite unecessary.
No wait, what did he mean by kick?
Oliver played about with the ball.. a few knee kicks and balanced it on his foot as he stood on one leg as he waited for Miranda to get into position. He dropped the ball between his feet and looked over at her when he heard her (squeaky little) voice. What was she doing? He gave her a puzzled look. She looked like she badly needed the loo from where he was standing. He grinned and gave her an encouraging nod before taking a small run at the ball and belting it in her direction with his foot.

Looking at Arya was surprise Allison said, "What was that for? You didn't actually think I'd do something with it? Did you?"
Arya had finally regained her composure when she waited for Allison to do something, anything with the ball. She didn't expect her to preform miracles with it, maybe stop the ball, that was easy enough so she thought. Boy was she wrong. She jumped back startled when Allison dodged the ball like it was on fire. Once she realized what had happened she was on the ground next to Allison rolling in laughter. She didn't know how she could be scared of a simple ball full of air but able to take on steal balls whose sole purpose was to knock her off her broom. Still laughing she stood up infront of her friend offering her a hand."I thought you were gonna stop it not dodge it! Come on I'll help you learn some of the basics." If she could teach someone to ride a horse surely she could teach someone to kick a ball.

Kellen nodded at the boy looking for a group; he was a Gryffindor, so he probably knew Sabel. The more the merrier, right?
"I'd rather get it right the first time than overshoot my abilities and look ridiculous," Kellen defended his less-than-aesthetic flying skills.
"We call it football, but I've never played." He shrugged, "Never had anyone to play with, you know?" He kicked the ball back to Sabel again, this time attempting to aim off to the boy's right. "We should ask to borrow a ball and play on the lawn outside after class. Could be fun."

Grabbing Arya's offered hand Allison stood up with not an ounce of embarrassment on her face. She was used to running from anything in sports, the time for blushes and hiding out of sheer mortification had ended years ago. "Basics? You want to teach me the easy stuff. You mean I'm going to have to touch that...that thing? Because for sure, basic stuff has me touching the football."
She should have gone to the library instead. She had already flown all over the Quidditch pitch during her first lesson, and she had answered things on the moon in Astronomy. WHY DID SHE GO TO MUGGLE STUDIES?! She knew she didn't need it. Oh but there she was scared out of her pants and stubborn as a mule.

'Whoa, he got it, he is good.' she thought. That was until she realized that the ball had left the ground and was coming right at her. 'Oh Merlin, what do I do now?' Her first instinct was to put her hands up and block it from hitting her, but she remembered the no hands rule. Backing up a little she thought she would just let the ball fall then kick it. That didn't happen though, the ball bounced off her chest before she could get out of the way of it. "Hey, what was that? I thought we were doing the easy stuff now?" She said with a little grin as she rubbed her chest where the ball hit.
Oliver played about with the ball.. a few knee kicks and balanced it on his foot as he stood on one leg as he waited for Miranda to get into position. Miranda tilted her head to the side. What's he doing?? And HOW is he doing that...making the ball hop on his knees like that. Ofcourse she knew it bounced and stuff, but it looked difficult. Sort of.
And then the boy grinned...and he was COMING AT HER!
No wait, the ball was! Her eyes grew wide and she wasn't reall sure what to do since the ball sort of flew towards her face. Well, catching it was not a bad idea. And she did, and held it lazily like... what now? Well this wasn't Quidditch, and she was sure she should've kicked it back? Well that's what the others were doing. "Nice kick, Ollie." She said while balancing the now spinning ball on one finger. Hehe.
But, now it was her turn. Heh. She put it on the floor, moved around a little to see from where she could get a better kick. She stood still and let her foot swing forwards, making it go...somewhere... "Watch out!"
Chris really didnt have a partner or group so he tooka ball and began to kick it back and forth in between his feet and popping it into the air with his foot.

They had to dribble the football?
Right.Ok.Fine
Sarah began chewing her bottom lip.She had no idea who to ask to be her partner.Everyone seemed to be finding it easy, and all she could do was look around like an idiot. That was until she spotted the familiar figure of Chris.
"Please tell me you need a partner!" Sarah hissed in his ear, as she rushed over and grabbed him by the arm. "I watch football at home, but by no means can I play it.I'd much rather be with someone I know!"

Partner, partner, where is a partner?!
Chris did NOT want to be alone on this. How stupid did he look just standing there looking around as the whole room began to partner up. Just as he was about to give up, he saw his fellow Prefect, Sarah or Hufflepuff come up and grab his arm.
"Oh my gosh! Yes you can be my partner! I thought I was the only one." he smiled happily. "Ok let's start shall we? I got the ball right here." he said stepping back a few paces from her and kicking it slowly towards her.

"I'm not saying you shouldn't do it right the first time," Sabel said, jumping after the ball, nearly tripping over his own feet in the process. He was definetly out of practice. "I actually thought you did really well flying."
Turning back to Kellen he dribbled the ball slowly and absently between his feet. "Football. That just sounds so strange. And you've never played? You're missing out on a lot man." He gave a slightly harder pass directly to Kellen so that the ball came only half an inch off the ground before bouncing and rolling towards the other boy. "In that case we definetly have to borrow a ball."

She watched as Pierre kicked it to Benjamin and then Benjamin aimed to kick at Ziva. She gasped, the ball had been kicked high. She held her breath ready for impact, it couldn't have been kicked that hard, he was a beginner after all.
The ball made contact with Ziva's middle, she doubled over catching the ball with her hands around it. She let out a deep breath, Benjamin had kicked it a lot harder than she thought. "Whoa there man!" Ziva said standing up slowly. "That was one good kick, got anymore like that?" she asked plopping the ball back on the grass. She stood there catching her breath, the hit knocked some wind out of her.

Ok his kick was successful. Now it was his turn. He didn't like how nervous she was. He was going to get a soccerball to the face in a few seconds he could feel it. But she skillfully kicked it towards him with the side of her foot.
"Good job Sarah." he said as he stopped the ball with his foot. He kicked it in front of his right foot and then knocked it back towards her.
Glancing over, Sabel caught sight of who Kellen was nodding at and gave the other boy, the Gryffindor Prefect he noted, a small smile. He was about to wave him to join when he noticed that he had just established a group and so he turned his attention back to Kellen.

Kellen gave a half-shrug as the Prefect turned to play with someone else, and smirked at Sabel, "How does it sound strange? It's a ball that you kick with your foot. Foot-ball. Where did 'soccer' come from?"
The ball bounced off his shins and he put a foot on it to stop it from rolling away, "It would be more fun with others too, don't you think? You can only do so much with two people."

Dalanie looked around the room since Mina had the ball. She saw Benjamin Farley. Dalanie quickly turned her attention back to Mina. Why did she have to look around? Things couldn't get any worse. What could happen? Everything. She wished Mina would pay attention now.
Ooh.. now that was a nice shot.. even if he did say so himself. He stood and watched the ball hurtle straight towards Miranda. If she had been a goal, he would have SCORED! But.. wait? She caught it? “Miranda. It's called football. Hence you use your feet?” He said, raising one eyebrow as she spun it on her fingers. Impressive.. but... “Fancy tricks or not, that's a hand ball, and if we were playing for real you would have got a yellow card.” Probably. He gave her a look as if to say 'show off', then smirked at her and waited for her to kick it back to him.
And kick it she did... but not towards him. The ball went rolling off in the direction of another group of students. See.. this is why Oliver should have partnered with another lad.. or three. Girls were lame at football. Fact. “Reckon you should stick to Quidditch.” He smirked at her and off he went to get the ball, apologising to the other students and he dribbled it back to position. “You ready?” He yelled at Miranda and without further ado, kicked the ball towards her, taking it slower this time to let her get accustomed to using her (little - snort) feet and not her hands.
