Arya ran around the corner and stoped. How in the world had she gotten to the moving staircase? Not only did she forget where she was headed, but she didn't know where she was and seeing the staircase didn't help. This wasn't the first time she had gotten lost in the castle and she didn't mind, it flet like she was on a adventure, always discovering a place.

She bound over to the staricase, hopping up every two steps and down one not trying to reach the top. Mid hop the staircase suddenly shifted causing her to loose her footing. Grabing the railing she regains her balance as the staircase continued to move before continuing her hopping, now determinded to beat the staircase at its own game.

Third floor, going down!

Sarah had been wandering along the corridor when she came to yet another staircase.In all her time at Hogwarts she had yet to get used to the things, and was always incredibly wary when stepping onto them.If she wanted to get back down to the next level, however, she had to.Hopefully she could it without the thing moving again.Losing your footing on a staircase is not good.Not good at all.

Slinging her bag over her shoulder, Sarah made her way down, gripping the banister tightly with her right hand.Half way down she felt a jerking movement and stumbled sideways with an "Arrgghhh!".As the staircase swung to the side, Sarah's foot slipped off the step and she bounced down a couple more on her backside, along with the contents of her bag.

Groaning she came to a halt and looked round at all her things. "Owwww.Stupid blooming...." she muttered, pulling herself to her feet and rubbing her sore bum."Great," she hissed, scanning the floor. "Now I have to pick everything up..." Reaching down she grabbed her quills and a roll of parchment that had somehow managed to not make it all the way to the bottom.

Just as she went to pick up her homework notes she heard a thumping noise, and for the first time noticed someone else on the stairs.Smiling as she looked into the face of the girl from the train, Sarah stuffed her things back into her bag, still groaning slightly in pain."Hi.....I'm not sure doing that on a moving staircase is a good idea," she chuckled, "look at me. I fell and and I was just walking down them..."

Arya had a goofy grin on her face as she concentrated on hopping while the staircase moved, which was turning out to be harder than she thought but still fun. Every time the staircase would move she would atempt to hop to the other side. But she had yet to be sucessful, always having to stop in the middle before she fell and regain her balance. When the stairs stoped moving she went back to hopping up two and down one.

As the staircase began to move again she heard a familiar voice. Still holding on to the railing she looked up to see the prefect she had meet on the train. "Hey...Sarah!"It took her while to remember the girls name, after all it had been a month since they last meet. She laughed at Sarah's concern as she hopped up to the girl, carefull not to loose her footing. "But that's what makes it FUNNNN! She couldn't believe it had taken her this long to think up the game. Though she had only been on the stairs a few times, and was always in a hurry. Once she reached the prefect she bent down, picking up the rest of her papers and handed them to her. "Were ya headed?"She hopped up a few step just to hop back to to Sarah only to repeat the process, a huge smile on her face.

Ahhh, the exhuberance of youth.It would have been a joy to see if her tailbone wasn't throbbing in pain right at that minute.

"Hey, Arya," she smiled, shaking her head in disbelief as the girl came bouncing towards her.Fun? Yeahhhhh, no. "If you say so," Sarah giggled, taking the papers from the first years hands and putting back where they belonged. "Thank you."

Where was she headed? Right now, the hospital wing felt like a good place.But that meant she would have to go back up the stairs, and that was NOT going to happen. "Uhhh, not sure, actually.As long as it's ground level, with no stupid stairs," she grunted, kicking one of the hard, stone steps with her foot. "I don't mind." She paused, trying to remember whether she did have a destination in mind and the slip knocked it out of her mind.Or whether she'd just been wandering again.Meh, didn't matter really.No lessons that she was going to miss anyway...

"So where you off to?" she asked, mirroring the other girls question. "You settling in ok?"

"There not that bad...once you get used to them."She hopped up the stairs and waited for the staircase to stop moving. When they did she jumped on the railing and slid down to Sarah, hopping off when she reached the girl.

Finally standing still she thought about what Sarah just asked, where was she going? She didn't really remember or care, so long as it wasn't important. Plus she was to preoccupied with beating the stairs. "I forgot. Got lost goin where ever I was goin and ended up here...oh well."She went back to her hopping before anwsering the second question. "I'm settlin great!" She replayed the first month in her mind as she hopped. "Went swimin in the lake, played on the playground, made some new friends. The Professors are nice....cept that Duskurk...creepy old man."She suddered slightly thinking about the class, hoping the next would be more...humane. "Professor Lawson is cool though!" And just like that she bounced back to her previous hyper state.

"Well I'm still not used to them after five years," she laughed, watching as Arya hopped some more.Seriously, was this kid on a sugar high?

Thankfully she stopped long enough to answer the question, but she didn't look like she wanted to for long. "Ahhh, yeah.You can quite easily get lost in this castle.My first year was spent trying to find every classroom.Completely surprised I ever made it on time to a lesson." Sarah mused, then cast her thoughts back 5 years.Had it really been that long? Boy...OWL year.

Shaking her head to snap her thoughts back to the here and now, Sarah looked down, then up, then down and....you get the picture....as Arya resumed her hopping. "I'm glad," she smiled, looping her head through her bag strap so she would have both hands free to hold on to the banister. "Yeah, Professor Duskurk does seem a little.....creepy.That's a good word," she nodded, agreeing with Arya.When the Professor subject turned to Lawson, Sarah beamed.She really did like him.Nice and relaxed person. "Oh uhuh, Lawson is great! He taught DADA last term...shame he isn't this term.I'd feel much safer if he was." Ooooh creepy, creepy Duskurk didn't make anyone feel safe.

"Really!? I bet it was fun..."Still hopping she thought about which class she rathered Lawson teach. Him teaching DADA would make it much more enjoyable, she would have a reason to fear the class then. But that would mean another professor for Muggle Studies, though the class would be easy either way seeing as she was raised in a muggle town. "I think he should go back to teaching DADA...but having him in Muggle Studies is fun too. I love soccer."

Had she not eatin all that candy she got from Hogsmade she would've been somewhat tired by now, or atleast stoped hopping. But seeing as she did...she just kept going and going and going, like a little energizer bunny. As she slide down the railing she dug in her pockets for yet another piece of gum. Blowing a bubble stoped and searched for another piece, holding it out to Sarah once she found it. "Wanna piece of gum?"

"Oh yeah, it was great fun! And he gave us all a holster for our wands, to make it easier to store them and whip them out when we need to.Here look..." Sarah pulled back the sleeve of her robes and twisted her arm around so Arya could see the wrist holster she was wearing.She was deeply in love with the thing.Deeply. "It's so easy! Just flick you wrist and it slids right out," complete with demonstration.It would be nice if he could go back to teaching it, but..."He didn't have much choice about changing subjects," she whispered, not sure as to why she was. "Professor Kazimeriz sorta moved him at the end of last term...letting everyone know during the feast.He was acting Headmaster at the time, and had the authority to..." Which was really cruel, and nasty.Confirming Sarah's already established dislike of the man.

The bouncing was neverending, and when Arya pulled some gum out of her pocket Sarah's suspicions were confirmed.Sugar high it was. "Thanks," she smiled, taking the piece offered to her and unwrapping it.Stuffing it into her mouth she moved it to the side so she could talk. "Perhaps you should ease up on the sugary stuff.The low after the high is...well it's not nice.I ate ten donuts in a row once, and was bouncing off the ceiling.When it wore off I felt terrible.Just a little friendly piece of advice," she winked, going back to her own chewing.

Arya stoped her hopping to observe Sarah's holster and demonstration. "My brother got me one of those, but I don't use it much." She had only really used the thing once since Noah had gotten it for her, but she didn't care to go through all the fuss of attaching it to her wrist ever morning. It was much easier for her to stick it in her pockets, since she didn't need it any immediate use. She hopped up a few stairs before sliding down the railing. "Professor Kazimeriz...acting headmaster...so where is he now?"All this confusion had brung Arya to a halt, still sitting on the railing with her legs wraped around it for support. He didn't seem like a professor she would like, and the last thing she needed was another evil professor.

Arya grined at Sarah, it was gonna have to more than friendly advice to stop her. She had a unhealthy taste for sweets that never ended well when she did get down from a sugar high, but she was always one to learn the hard way. There was a reason her mom only kept so many sweets in the house. Hopping off the railing, she looked up and down the staircase. She was getting bored with hopping, seeing how she had already mastered the game.[B] Hopping down the stairs she turned up to Sarah, "See ya latter Sarah!"before leaving the stairs.

Darn it! Moving staircase... Hmmmm... Alexa really needs her bloody broom... it would be MUCH easier to get to where she is trying to go. Teehee... no one said that this one particular room was off limits. *shifty eyes*

Finally getting the right staircase, ALexa hopped on and with a lurch in her tummy she hopped off at the appropriate level. So long SUCKAS!!

Sabel had to stop at the first staircase and swallow back the naseua already forming in his throat. Perhaps he could close his eyes and run up them. Yes. That sounded like a good idea. His eyes flicked up and caught sight of Alexa. Realizing that he was going to lose her he darted upwards, staggering like his legs were spaghetti. This was soooo nooootttt a good choice.

Emily was walking up the moving staircase when, like the name says, it moved. She tried to hold onto something SHE WAS ALMOST TO THE TOP! she could almost get to the top step and just her luck she couldn't get to the rail on time. She fell back ward onto the other stairs and fell down flipping over the stairs over, and over, and over until she finally reached the bottom. Not moving.

SHE NEEDED HELP! but of course, when you are unconcious you can't ask for help!

Torin was making his way over to the stairs so that he could go up to the Seventh floor. He needed to go to the Room of Requirement.

That was when he saw that there was a girl at the foot of the stairs that seemed to be unconscious. Oh dear!

He rushed over to her to see if she was okay, and saw that she had some bad bumps and it was very possible that there were other injuries as well. He needed to get her to the hospital ward.

He lifted her up in his arms and started making his way to the nurse.

"Ah ha! I won" he said, rejoicing and then subsiquently tripping on the moving stair case. "Wooooops" he said, getting up. "Where to next?" he asked. He didn't really need to be here. It was the first place that came to mind when she had asked to race him.

Avery came in behind Nyphy by two steps. "You didn't beat me by much!" Avery giggled and then looked around, she wasn't really sure where they were running to, she just ran to get there. "I'm not sure, what else is there to do around this school. Something in the room of requirment maybe?" Avery had never been in that room and thought it would be a rather fun place to go!

"Definitly" he said, "We can do anything in there! We just have to think it. What do you really want to do today above anything else?" heasked her.

Avery had a thought in her head but she couldn't say it out loud with out being embarassed, so she just made something up off the top of her head. How about a jungle! That would be fun right? A jungle with monkeys and everything else. "Wanna race there again? I bet I can beat you this time!" Avery took off running before he could answer, other wise she knew she would lose.

Helena only had a few more months left in the castle, and the year had already gone by quickly. In a way, she was excited to be unbound by school - she would be able to be with Chris again, and that was a definite plus. Yet, she couldn't help but feel terrible, for she was leaving Blake as well. She stopped at the bottom of a familiar staircase on the third floor and pondered this for a few moments.

Homework free, labor free and now some free time. Tyler had some free time to himself to do whatever since everything was finally done. For once, he felt like a normal teenager, unlike what his mom made him feel at home. Whistling along the moving staircase, Ty had his hands in his pockets and looked for anyone to talk to. It felt like a while since he had hung out with any of his friends. But then something clicked in his head.

He had to send Jule her gift. He missed that loser.

Cadence was wandering the castle. She didn't really know where she was, nor did she care. The back of her robes were filthy. She hadn't been back to the Common Room to change since the break up. As she walked down the moving staircase, staring at the ground, the stairs she was on started to move, and she lost her balance slightly, following into someone. When she looked up, she blinked confusedly. "Tyler?" she asked, her dry, blood shot eyes searching his face to make sure it was really him.

Tyler could probably never get used to these moving stairs. As they began to move, he held onto the rails, but felt something or someone fall into him. Ty turned around to see what it was. To his surprise, it was Cadence. They hadn't spoken in months since that "fight", months ago. "Yeah?" he said questioningly and looked at her. Her robes were dirty and her eyes were red.

Cadence was back to crying. "Umm, are you alright?"

Cadence straightened back up and then shrugged her shoulders, looking at the ground. "Nate and I broke up," she said quietly. Cadence braced herself for the, "I told you so," that was no doubt about to come out of Tyler's mouth. He had known this would happen, but Cadence hadn't cared. And it wasn't Nate's fault. It was his parents fault. Nate still loved her, and Cadence was going to keep telling herself until it hurt too much to remember how much he loved her.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," Ty said and sat on the stairs. He patted the space next to him for her to sit as well. He was sure she didn't want to fall over the stairs when they began moving again. "So, do you wanna vent about it? Just to get everything out there and help you feel better? In some way?" he asked and placed his elbows on his knees. Venting usually made people feel better. Well, to him at least it did. All those feelings weren't bottled up inside once they were let out. Obviously. But it was better not to have them like that.

Cadence looked up at him again, now even more confused. So, what? Now that she and Nate had broken up Tyler was automatically going to be all buddy-buddy with her again? Giving him a suspicious look she sat down next to him. "There's not really much to say. He's not coming back next term, and his parents won't let him see me over the summer, so he broke up with me because he thought it would be easier I guess," she said quietly with a shrug. Tears welled up in her eyes again as she said, even more quietly, "He says he still loves me..." and then she blinked back the tears, refusing to cry in front of Tyler.

"Why is it that parents are always ruining their kids relationships?" Ty asked softly and shook his head. Trying not to sound cocky or anything, but Ty's mom knew better then to interfere in his personal life. Since she knew she wouldn't want him to interfere in hers. "So he won't be back at Hogwarts for good?" Ty asked, not because he was happy about it, which honestly he wasnt, but because it was strange. His parents must've not like Cadence since they won't let him see her during the summer.
