The...lover's lair. She didn't even know there were different rooms for different detentions such as that! She figured it would be more like what Lawsguini did! If you even called that a detention. It probably made the man more crazy than actually teaching them a lesson. Walking into the room, unsure, Evelyn was now convinced that this really was a joke. They...didn't...do anything that would put them into here. Did they? No! They didn't. Although, it already felt like torture just walking into a room that had a name like THAT. Ugh, this really was detention...

What?! Lover's Lair!??!

Why were they in here? Josh had no idea since he could not remember doing such things like...well...things to make it necessary to lock them here. As he stepped inside he looked at Evelyn with questioning eyes and this was also kinda embarrassing. What if the whole school heard that they had been in the Lover's Lair?

''Ehh...this did not sound tough''

"So... let's hear it. Why are you in detention?" Taking a seat and extending her hand for their wands. "Wands."

Why were they in detention?

Easy thing for Josh to answer. But at first place he, despite doing what he was told immediately he was quite reluctand about it, took out his hazel wand and handed it to Lupa. For a moment he looked back at Rose then turned to face the professor again before taking a big breath to speak.

''Because of some certain Hufflepuff boy again and eveyone thinks i am or we are mean to him.'' he really worked hard not to put any annoying adjectives before the Hufflepuff boy words and in order to avoid this he went on. ''Why are we in here professor?''

Why were they in detention?

Well...she would like to know that answer too! She didn't do anything wrong...ish.

But the last word the Professor spoke made her pause just as she was about to open her mouth and speak. Wands? She was going to take their wands. There was going to be another set of fingerprints...on her precious wand. But this was Professor Lupa. Evelyn could trust her to take care of it, right? But still. Fingerprints!!

Taking her dark ash wand out of her sleeve, leaving the other lighter one there unseen, she held it in her hand, staring down at it as if she were losing her leg. This was a sad and depressing moment. There needed to be a moment of silence...

But it was broken by Josh speaking. And what he said was totally true. And that question. That question that NEEDED to be answered! "Yes, professor. Why are we in this particular room?"

"Hmm..." she said and with a flourish of her wand. The two other wands disappeared. "You will have them back at the end of your detention." She said and moved behind the chair. "You are in detention, because you both chose to show off to one another by bullying another student. That is no way to show off to your... boyfriend... or girlfriend... and you will now be punished. Is that clear enough?"

Wha wha wha wha??!!

Her wand was gone! It disappeared! To nowhere! It was dead. Probably burning in a fire. Other people were touching it. Doomed to be covered with dirt and fingerprints, and not in it's rightful owner's hands. Ohhh the nerve of these professors! How would THEY like it if she took there wands hmm?!

Showing off? She wasn't showing off. Was she? Was he?! "Boy...friend..." she repeated quietly, looking up at the Professor with shocked and wide eyes. Boyfriend? Girlfriend? Where were all of these words coming from? Besides, she wasn't showing off! Or...maybe she was. She didn't know.

And it wasn't clear. She didn't understand why Professor Lupa had to take away her wand. It wasn't like she was going to use it. If she was going to make them clean, then heck, Evelyn didn't know any cleaning spells anyway! But, she nodded anyways, a rather perplexed and anxiety filled expression on her face.

Hmmm...Ha?

Showing off to her? This point was so interesting that he did not even pay any attention to the disappearance of his wand. Josh glanced at the Slytherin girl again for how many times he did not know. Maybe he would show off especially regarding that she was mad at him right now. It might have worked well to soften her. However while dealing with Jake he was unable to recall that he had something like showing off in mind.

All over again he watched Evelyn's reaction to Lupa's words. And it was just how he expected it. On the other hand he avided making any comment on boyfriend-girlfriend stuff. ''That's interesting professor'' of course his avoiding that point did not mean he had nothing to say. He always had something to say. ''But professor. I am the Gryffindor so why would she think that i'd be impressed by her doing that? She is the Slytherin so i might have very well thought that she'd be impressed if i did that. Don't you think so?'' Perhaps that might save her from the big suffering if there was going to be any.

"Master Carter, you are a very strange boy." She said with a smile. "It's sweet really, trying to rationalize your love for your girlfriend here." She said and nudged him. "I have lines for you to wright... at least, for now..." she said and read "I will not bully my friend."

Josh blinked at Professor Lupa with blank eyes. What did that mean? Could not be something bad since she was smiling but when she went on it was most likely that she'd been smiling at her next words.

Rationalize what?......! Great now he was a sweet lover and she had just mentioned that right before the Slytherin girl who was currently mad at him. Plus she nudged him in a strange manner. He did not know it was good or bad but he was sure that it was embarrassing when pronounced like that. So, he doubted now he could look back at her again. ''Ummm...okay'' he said looking at everywhere except Lupa and Evelyn. Hopefully he could focus on that paper while writing lines.

She had no clue what the Professor just said to Josh, but she laughed anyways. It was funny to see his face turn that shade of red. Unless it was just the light in the room that was doing that...

So he had to write lines? That was it? Or they both had to write lines. Maybe...she could get out of it. Or, maybe she could make a break for it and run out of the room unnoticed! But first, she would have to take off her shoes and socks. Don't want the professor chasing her and being heard while running or anything. Eh, actually that would take too long, and she would surely get some questions if she was found sitting on the cold floor untying her shoes. Plus she had to go back to the dorm sooner or later and Lupa would probably be waiting for her there.

For now, she would just...wait, and think of things that might get her out of this evil place earlier. Or slink into the shadows. Whichever she found more promising.

Alessia smirked, and went to look at what they were writing. But before she could read the parchments, the words they wrote disappeared and transformed.

"What is the meaning of this!" She said angrily. And ripped up the parchment. "Try again Master Carter." And she went to the girl's parchment and read it a loud.

"Miss Flores! I thought as a Slytherin you would have more respect for me." She handed Josh the parchment. "I guess this is for you." And raising her voice she said "What you will write is I WILL NOT BULLY MY FRIEND!"

Evelyn, having finally walked over to the second parchment, sat down in the seat and stared at it. What was supposed to be written again? Eh, might as well write her name at the top right? Is that what your supposed to do with something like this? Write the headings and stuff...

She had no clue how long it had been, but the only thing she had down was her name, her year and her house neatly written in the upper left hand corner. Sighing, she tilted her head back and looked at the dark ceiling for juuuuust a moment before looking back down to her paper. 1....2....3...OH DEAR MERLIN! She didn't write that! She never even thought of those words!! Cover it up...cover it up!!

Too late....

Her cheeks burned red in embarrassment as the Professor read the poem out loud. Ohhh Professor Lupa really was a Slytherin! And Evelyn couldn't help but admire the woman. She was sneaky... And she could learn a thing or two from her as well. Evelyn was too into shock to really respond to what the Professor said, but she snatched the parchment away from Josh before he could even look at the words. Grabbing the quill, she dipped it in the ink before scratching out the poem except possibly accidentally missing the last two lines before writing down what was supposed to be written.

Writing lines was boring but at least safe. So, he worked on his parchment without uttering a word of complaint hoping that Professor Lupa would be satisfied with his effort and stop teasing him before Evelyn. He was feeling uneasy about that since it did not make you look cool and Merlin! He was always cool! What was this now?

He blinked at the parcment with a shocked expression as all he wrote dissappeared and was replaced by some others that he definitely did not think of writing. WHAT! He would never ever bully kids! That was nasty. And bullying professors? That was something huge to dare.

Okay, no panic. Trying to look as if he had seen nothing weird, the Gryffindor grabbed his quill firmly to scratch the transformed words nevertheless it turned out that he was too late for that when Lupa expressed her anger on the parchment and ripped it up. ''I did not write those!'' he protested looking up at her and he was going to protest more telling that what she was doing unfair but no words found their way out his mouth once he heard what was on Rose's parchment.

Did she really write these? It was another shock for him and he took the parchment from the professor to examine if... Ha?! The poem was gone. Josh stared at the Slytherin girl as she snatched it out his hands and she was looking as red as Gryffindor stuff. Then she simply attacked the words before busying herself with lines again. He had better do the same for he started to sense embarrassment coming back. Okay, focus. Lupa was evil!

Again Lupa went back to her chair and waited for the two to start writing again. She stood a second time and made her way to the kid's desks. "Alright, quills down. Let me see where you are."

Again the words morphed into completely different ones. She took the parchment before he could do anything to it and read it aloud:

"Master Carter!" She said shocked, "Just because I'm a romantic at heart doesn't mean I would understand!" She said and affixed the parchment to the wall.

"You are in Detention Miss Flores, or should I call you Mrs. Carter. Merlin!" She said affixing that parchment on the wall. "That's it..." She said. Raising a wall between the two so they couldn't see each other. "If we have to do it this way, we will! You can't be together, I'll seperate you." and handing them new parchment, added "I. WILL. NOT. BULLY. MY. FRIEND! Write!"

Josh had almost half filled his parchment with 'I will not bully my friend's when Lupa told them to drop the quills. Phew! Hopefully they could have a break. His right hand was not accustomed to writing that much for he even very rarely took notes at classes.

Then the very moment he dropped his quill, he saw the words on his parchment transform again. Ahaaa NO! Not again! The boy attempted to grab the quill quickly but Lupa gave him no time and almost snatched the parchment before he could even see the words, just like Rose did before.

And once again he felt that he was being victimised by love and Professor Lupa. This time he could not dare looking at the girl. ''I...p...professor...i''. Now who was stuttering? He gave up protesting and just stared at the ceiling with embarrasment. It was another shock when Lupa referred to Evelyn as Mrs. Carter, with that he wanted to glance at her again but failed to do so as there appeared a wall between them. The boy glared at the professor while she put another parchment before him and repeated the sentence that they should write. He took a deep breath and started again at least now Evelyn would not be seeing if he was embarrassed.

She didn't know how many times she wrote those lines since her hand was really starting to cramp, but for a moment, she thought her eyesight was messing with her. What was going on? The words on her parchment...what?

Mrs...Evelyn Carter?

She didn't write that! Frowning, she was just about to cross the words out when she heard the Professor reading something. Something that made her cheeks turn red for the second time that night. Did Josh really write that? Unless what was happening to her parchment, was happening to his. What was wrong with this parchment?! Or...quill... Or maybe it was the ink they were using. Before she could even think of glancing at Josh though, a wall appeared in the middle of them, making it impossible for any sneaky glances. Well, at least now she could concentrate on her work right? And he wouldn't see her extremely red face...

Obviously not, seeing as the Professor was now reading her 'work'. But seriously, how could she concentrate with THOSE words starring right back up at her? Closing her eyes for just a second, she was just about to flip the parchment over and start on the back side, slightly irritated, but the paper was suddenly gone and a completely new one sat in it's place. Of course. It was a work of art, it had to be hung on the wall! Really though, she was writing 'I will not bully my friends'! A million times! It wasn't her fault this ink or quill decided it wanted to ruin their lives! Whatever though. Might as well have fun with this. "Oh professor...you may call me either of those names. What am I, if not a human that has been struck by cupid's arrow? This wall cannot separate the power of love! It will only strengthen it!"

As if her face could get any redder....

"Really Professor. How can I keep writing lines when all it does is change into this stuff, hmm?" Perhaps they should be given a new quill? Or ink. This kind was too thick anyways. Well, she was the one that actually wrote that stuff, but the Professor didn't have to know that. Besides, she might as well sneak in the romantic stuff too to make it look more believable. "Seriously. Jake is our friend. We were only messing around with him a little. He knows we're joking."

She should put a little star on that third line...

She smiled in his direction... She was about to silently cast to start a voice thing but...
Evelyn did exactly what Alessia thought she would do, though a little earlier than she expected. Typical Slytherin. She cast silently to cut the sound from going to either side, and to raised an invisible glass wall in front of both of them.

So the following was ONLY heard from Josh: "Did you hear that, Master Carter?" She said and smirked. "I think you are right, I think I'll just step out for a few." And she stepped through the door... or at least it looked that way to Josh Carter... thanks to the invisible wall.

The figure of Evelyn's head peaked out from around the wall. "Josh! Finally! I'm so tired of the lies... I love you." The Evelyn!Clone said rushing to him. "I'm so glad she left." She said jumping on his lap and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Did you mean it? Do you love me? Can we get married? Oh please? My father might come after you and maybe cast some unforgivables your way... maybe not the killing curse, but definitely the cruciatus... but what's a little pain for all the love we can share."

Alessia, still visible and audible ONLY on Evelyn's side, gave a wolfish growl... werewolfs could be scary even when in human form... and Alessia was no different. "Are you saying I'm changing your answer? Really? I should punish you for insolence, child! Maybe the torture chamber would be best for you... Ever been in shackles, Flores? I can tell you from experience, it isn't pleasant." She stormed out... or... at least that's what it looked like.

Josh!Clone came from the other side and looked at Evelyn. "Seriously? You like me... that way? A human that has been struck by cupid's arrow? This wall cannot separate the power of love?!? Evelyn..." and the Josh!Clone laughed, "No really. I just don't think you and I can be friends anymore. No way... I can't do it. You got that Evil-lyn."

Evelyn was trying her hardest not to giggle or show any sign of finding the way this detention was going funny. Sure, she had to write a million lines until her hand cramped, but this was actually better than what Lawsguini made them do.

Completely oblivious to what Lupa just did, the Slytherin girl gave a sudden jump as a growl echoed through the room. Was that...Professor Lupa? Her small smile suddenly faded as her bright hazel eyes widened, staring at the Professor standing in front of her. "What? No, I didn't mean you-" her pleading was cut off though as the Professor continued to talk, yell...growl?...at her, making Evelyn lean back in her chair as much as she could. As if that could distance her from the crazy standing right there...

Shackles? "No." she barely got out, shaking her head for an answer to Lupa's probably rhetoric question. Watching the Professor storm from the room, she took a deep shaky breathe and let it out slowly. Jeez that woman was scary when angry.

Really though, who cares about that right now. Josh snuck over! "Hey Jos-" Eh?...what was this? If there was ever a smile on her face, it would now be completely gone, disappearing into nothingness like her wand before. Can't be...friends anymore? She didn't really mean what she had said, she was more trying to get onto the Professor's nerve than anything. Had he taken it the wrong way? Well obviously, but...

But, to the point of not wanting to be friends anymore? That...hurt. Very much. Evillyn? "I was...kidding." she forced out with the tiniest fake smile ever, taking another deep and shaky breathe. Josh didn't want to be friends anymore. With her. That was like a serious blow to her stomach. Sure she may be a bit bossy and...Slytherin...at times, but still. She was suddenly aware that she felt hurt and humiliated. Emotions that were neither familiar nor foreign. To think that he could like her? She had just gotten used to the idea of liking him. And now...

Whatever he had said, or had done, was a lie. "Are you serious?" Was he serious? Was he laughing behind her back this entire time? This was all probably a big joke in the Gryffindor common room. And Rex was probably on his side. And he and Kay would be laughing too. Oh...oh god. Madam Puddifoots. They probably had a field day when those two caught her and Josh there. "Fine. Fine...go back to your own side." And leave her alone. She knew, just KNEW, to never let her heart open up to someone. She learned that from her parents...and the voice. Evelyn really missed that voice.

Josh was finished with the one side of the page so he dropped the quill in the ink and looked at his work. Good good. The words were not transforming anymore. They were fortunately looking the very same 'I will not bully my friend's. While the words were not transforming, he wanted to make as much progress as he could otherwise he was not going to be free of this dungeon place for ever. So, he was intensely focused on what he was doing. Taking the quill back, the boy turned the other side of the parchment and was about to begin writing when he heard Rose speaking...words that made him freeze at first.

But this was her after all, she was a Slytherin and deducting from the exaggeration within the remarks, she was uttering these to tease and rebel against what was going on. He could not decide if that was good or bad yet he knew something for sure that considering they way Lupa would take it, it was funny. 'Human that has been struck by cupid's arrow!' and ' This wall will only strenghten the power of love!' Teehee! What a girl she was! And he liked her more because of that.

Josh was trying not to laugh when he saw Lupa looking and smiling at him then she asked if he heard what Evelyn had just said. He looked at her gulping in order to not to laugh and nodded quickly ''I did professor'' Should he have made further comments? But huh? She was leaving? His eyes followed the woman. Yes, she was actually leaving. This was the opportunity to discuss away out here so he attempted to leave his chair but froze all over again when he saw her entering his side. And she was.... O.O!

The Gryffindor watched her with confusion as she declared her love for him and sat on his lap, like an embrace. Was not she teasing Lupa? But Kupa was gone, was not she? Otherwise Evelyn would not be able to freely come to this side. Josh was utterly confused though, she had been a little bit angry at him a few minutes ago and now this. ''Um...Rose...''

Once he was out the shock though, he felt happy and satisfied with himself that she was saying those. Smiling widely he murmured ''I love you too'' and hugged her back. Well...love was a strong word but what could he say? He pretty much liked her plus if he meant something against it, it would have been a lie. And Josh did not lie...not always.

However when he heard the rest of her words he backed a little away from her. The idea of marrying at the age of thirteen was scary. He could not decide which one was more scary; this or the father? ''Maybe not the killing curse, but definitely the cruciatus...'' he repeated staring at her ''Well...that is good news...i guess'' Besides if something like that ever happened he knew her father would not be the only one who would come after him. There was his bossy mother and she'd surely kill him if she heard about this.

"Back to my side?" Josh!Clone said laughing and then smiled at her. "Awwww, That's so sweet." he said condescendingly, "You are all offended and sad, aren't you. You didn't think we could be friends long, Evil-lyn..." He took a handful of her hair and said. "You know if you actually took care of yourself... maybe dyed your hair some color other than dragon poo..." he laughed. "Silly girl."

Evelyn!Clone smiled as she jumped off of his lap. Her face contorted and burst out in laughter that she'd been keeping in for what seemed like ages. "Are you really that stupid?" She said, "Marrying now? What Quintaped Head! Just like a Gryffindor, all brawn and no brain. Like I could even love you. Wait till I tell this in the Slytherin Common Room!" And then in a sing song voice she began teasing... "Josh Carter should be smarter! Josh Carter should be smarter!"

Josh smiled at the girl back when she smiled and watched her with that smile remaining on his face till she laughed like mad and uttered her first words. The laughter was like cold shower to him and he could do nothing but blink at her as the blow of her words hit him. Stupid, all brawn and no brain and more. He was feeling like that he stepped to the point of beyond humiliated at her every word. ''How can you be so cruel?''

He did nothing except staring down at the empty side of the parchment before him. So, she regarded him as nothing more than something to laugh at with other Slytherins. He sighed deeply and took the quill back for he wanted to get out of this place...immediately.

''STOP IT!'' he yelled out of anger disappointment as he hardly pressed the quill on the parchment causing it to break. How could she be that mean teasing him like that though he never ever thought of hurting her?

Evelyn clamped her mouth shut, listening to what he was saying. If she didn't open her mouth, she wouldn't do or say anything stupid and would regret later. Right? Well, she thought so anyway, and it was turning out to be quite harder than she imagined. How could he stand there...and continue to talk to her like that? The first part was bad enough!

Of course she was offended, but no she wasn't sad. She was angry now. The sudden turn of events confused her to the point of not knowing what she felt anymore. Confused, angry, sad, humiliated, unwanted...and probably everything in-between.

And he was still talking. That voice that she once hoped of hearing everyday, now turning unwanted and annoying. She was feeling...vulnerable. And that was not good with her. Probably the last thing anyone would want. And she was not expecting him to actually move over and touch her hair. For one, he was now in her personal space bubble, and two, if he was so repulsed by her, than why even move closer?! She would have preferred him to move back to his side so she wouldn't have to see his...face...anymore. Ugh, she couldn't even say he was ugly!, when he was the one tearing her apart.

Wooaaahhh. Dragon poo? Her hair, was not that color. And what was up with this Evil name thing going on?! Just another obvious insult! Like Silver-Viper huh? He was probably just waiting to call her these things. Having noticed, finally, that her hand was shaking as she continued to write, and her words coming out well...not so perfect anymore, she threw down the quill and clenched her hands into fists, staring intently at the words she wrote on the parchment in front of her. She didn't dare open her mouth to speak.

Or cry for that matter. Crying was weakness, and she knew a lot about that when she was younger. She couldn't be seen weak in front of him. Not now. Not ever. Especially...not now...but it was still proving to be just as hard as not speaking.

The invisible wall, the divider wall and the clones disappeared both waving at their victims. Alessia was left standing between them. "Was it fun to be bullied by someone you thought was your friend?" She asked the two students. She was not happy that she had to hurt them to prove her point, but if it helped stop them from being distructive to other students, then it's be worth it.
