There was absolutely no way Professor Duskurk would open his classroom without being present. He had carefully arranged the desks into a horseshoe around the very edge of the classroom so that everyone had a clear view of the blackboard at the front of the classroom and the center floor. In front of the blackboard was a small table covered with a black cloth. There were clear outlines of something other than the table under the cloth, but that was all. Professor Duskurk stood beside the door with a clipboard. "Please state your name and then take the first desk available, working clockwise around the room," he said in a no nonsense voice as each student entered the room. ooc: please act as if your character has been here the whole time if you don't get online before we begin and just add an ooc note for me with your character name. Your names will be added to the roll in the order in which you join us. Quote:

Jake looked crestfallen as he entered the classroom and saw THE EVIL MAN. He heard the instructions and frowned to himself. "Juhh-jjjjake," the boy mumbled, before hurrying to join Dylan, not knowing if it was worth giving his last name. Full name hadn't been asked for... had it?
Jake couldn't remember. He was just scared of this bloke.

This was...different. Legend entered the room and had to take a moment to remember what class he was in. Defense Against the Dark Arts right? The room seemed more mysterious or something, if just had a different feel.
"Er- Legend Chosen." The third year said loudly. Why did he have to give this dude his name? Did the guy actually want 40 students yelling their names at him? Shrugging he walked over to the fifth desk on the left and sat down. "So what will we be learning today sir?"

Jack walked into Defense Against the Dark Arts, looking around at the desks that the professor had arranged around the room. Gahhh he was that creepy professor! Great. Just great.
Even if the guy creeped him out, he needed to be polite and follow his orders!! "Jack Fritzera," he stated his name as the professor had told him, and he wandered over to the next open desk. Jack could feel himself grabbing the strap on his bag more tightly than necessary--but this dude was just SCARY. He had the feeling that if he even put one toe out of line, he'd be in HUGE trouble.
To make this situation even MORE pleasant, he saw that the next open seat was...next to Legend. Fantasticccc.

Walking over to the classroom, the first person she noticed was the creepy guy from the feast standing at the door way. Great. So he was the new DADA Professor? Her first impression she gave the new Professor was probably could have been better, so hopefully she could make that up. Ugh. Socializing was complicated. "Good day, Professor." she started, trying her hardest to smile even if it was a tiny one and to not just turn around and walk quickly away. "Evelyn Flores, sir." And after that, she walked quickly into the room, hurriedly snagging the seat next to Destiny and taking out a black notebook with the silver word 'DADA' on the front. Juuuuust in case she needed it...

On her way through the door archway the rather small Third year continued to tie her messy curls back, out of her way, not bothering to look to see where the Professor was at first and almost jumped at the sound of his voice, intructing students to introduce themselves and park it. He sounded strict. "Good afternoon, Professor." Katie greeted politely as she would any of the Professors. Adding as she went to take a seat, "Kaitlynnh Mae, Sir." She set her bag at her feet, unsure if she should get parchment out or not.

"He-," Wesley began automatically in greeting, then stopped as she took in the professor's tone and expression. "Wesley Reagan," The Hufflepuff corrected herself quickly, making direct eye contact, her face suddenly vacant of any excitement it might have previously worn.
Having introduced herself, the shorter-than-average third year walked quickly and quietly to her seat and gave close-lipped smile to the person sitting next to her before searching, with shaky hands, through her bag for the right textbook.

"Very good," he murmured, hanging the clipboard on a peg on the wall. The house and year of each student was magically added beside each name for quick reference and then Professor Duskurk turned and smiled at the students.
"Good morning and welcome to our first lesson together, Introduction to the Dark Arts. I prefer a lecture format for my classes followed by a practical session. If you do not like this format you may leave now," he paused to allow the students a chance to flee while he looked sinisterly around the room, meeting the gaze of each student.
