Arya was in the middle of blowing a big bubble when she heard her name being called. Turning aroundshe saw that it was Fia and smiled. Unfortunatly smiling caused her bubble to pop and gum to cover her lips. Using her mouth to pull the gum off she waved at Fia."Hey Fia! How are you....hows your friend?"Asking the former had reminded her of the incedent on the playground. She gestured to Anastasia and Avery."Fia this is Avery and Anastasia."

Fia giggled at Arya. "I'm sorry," she began with a smile as she walked over to where the girls were sitting. "I didn't mean for your bubble to pop." As she asked about Miles, she took a seat in a chair for a moment.

"Well, Mr. Masterson helped carry him, or levitate Miles to the hospital wing. He's okay now but poor thing was..." -sighs- "...hyperactive for a while." She had a hard time admitting that she lost Miles while trying to keep up with him so she refrained from making any comment on the situation. "But he's doing good. In fact, I should be meeting up with him in a bit."

Finding an armchair to sink into, Scipia sat down and sighed. It was not like her day has especially hard...but it was getting used to things that wore her out.

"Hello, Emily! Thanks!" Jenny said, smiling at both Emily and the cat. "Owls are neat. I have one, too. Her name's Sparkle. What's your owl's name?"

At least he was dry now. Luckily for him it was still warm enough that he would not catch hypothermia.

Ryder came into the common room and went to sit in one of the many arm chairs in front of the fire. He was freezing. He really wanted to find Sarah as well, but that was going to have to wait, he knew she was busy with her prefect stuff, and he was just going to have to get used to that.

For now though, he was going to relax, and tomorrow morning he was going to go to class. And pay attention. He raised his arms up and tucked them behind his head and then slouched down in the chair and closed his eyes as he took in the warmth from the fire. Jumping in the lake may not have been the smartest.

"Hahaha!" Miranda laughed at her friend, but put a hand on her mouth to dampen the sudden sound. She looked funny jogging like that. "You are pretty ready to run around out in the grounds, aren't you? Hehe." Hmmm, Miranda was feeling a bit lazy right now, or she'd go with Emalyn.
Old? Baaaaah. Miranda waved an hand at that comment. Gosh. Scary.

Heh, actually, Miranda was positive Emalyn could play a game of Quidditch all by herself. Miranda could stand on the sides and eat popcor. Hehe. "Wow...that's not bad at all." She looked impressed. And her friend kept on going with the ideas. Laughing again, she could see all seven Emalyn's. Naaaw, she'd give them all a huggy. "Wonder if you could get away with that... say that you all are identical twins!" She made a face and stuck her tounge out to loll at the side. "Haha, gosh, that would be confusing. But fun!"Well, loll as much as possible...which wasn't much since she wasn't a dog...

"Oooh, I'm sure he will be..." Her eyes glazed over at the thinking. How awesome must that boy be- Dragon tamerrr! HAAAAAAA! Miranda laughed again and even more at the Claw-beast she was impersonating. "Gosh, Ema, you should be an actress. I'd go and see you perform anyday." Funny or serious, Emalyn was one awesome cookie.

Hehe, stalk a Lockhart. "No, not yet. I'm a bit scared to look at the list. Not sure if I want to see how many signed up...yknow, incase no one did." Or...if ALOT of people signed up. "Come find me after tryouts and we shall BEGIN our tracking." Her eyebrows wriggled at her partner in crime- stalking.

Miranda shifted in her seat after sitting on her leg for too long, and noticed someone...looking rather wet... "Ryder?" She said to herself, but got up and walked over to the boy...that hopefully was her adopted big brother.

"Why are you wet?" she said louder and to the boy as she now stood at his side.

Aww, she didn't have a really good summer? That sucks. "Mine was great. I went to Greece with Brody and some others. And then I was staying with Tammy at her place. We went to Antarctica and then Brazil." It had been like the best summer ever. Even though he hadn't managed to get that penguin for Brody.

"You mean the carrying you to the hospital thing? I was just doing what friends do." He smiled at her. It was nothing.

"They approve portkey requests and make porkeys. Things like that", Avery said.
"I could help you dye it", Avery offered.
"Hello, I'm Avery", she introduced herself to the new girl who looked like she was around her age.

"My owl's name is Briar," Emily said. "She's so cute, she's brown and hse had black and white specks all over her."

He was in an odd mood today. He was half asleep and to lazy to open his eyes. He could sense someone standing beside him, but was not willing to turn his head to see who it was. Someone was talking to him, but in his half conscious state he didn't recognize who was speaking to him or did he care. He didn't want to not answer the question though but his answer came out more rude and sharp than he was planning on, "I went swimming.."

As soon as he said that though, there was a voice in the back of his mind, telling him that he should not be rude to this person, rather that he didn't want to be rude to this person. Just at the same time as he clued in to it was standing beside him, he also clued in to what he had said, and how he had NEVER been rude to this person once in his life, and he didn't want to start now, she deserved better than that. Way better.

"I'm so sorry Miranda," he said at the same time as he forced his eyes open, "I didn't mean for that to come across like that. Forgive me?" he almost pleaded. "I'm wet because I went swimming," he explained, he paused, because he didn't know what she would think about the next part of his response, "to find the giant squid."

Miranda started to bite her thumb nail. He was taking awfully long to answer...but...did he have his eyes closed? Oh! Maybe he's asleep! She was just about to sort of tip-toe outta there when his...unusually harsh tone of voice made her furrow her brow. She dropped her hand and watched him, confused. Maybe...he was having a bad day? Miranda knew he wasn't a moody kid, and he had never been mean to her or anything. So something must be wrong...

Just as she was about to ask him what was up, he spoke first. Miranda smiled softly. "It's allright... Didn't mean to bother you while you were resting." Maybe that's what she had done. Lots of maybe's. "You're forgiven!" She winked at him, and then listened to why he was wet. Swimming! In September? Oh, maybe the water was still warm! She smiled bigger now. "Did you find him?? Ya know, of all the year's I've been here, I haven't seen him much..." Her lower lip jutted out a little as she sat on the armrest of the chair.

"No, of course I didn't find him..." he said, but winked at her to let her know that he may of possibly thought he saw him. "Maybe you should wait till its warmer to try and find him..." he said, he didn't want her getting sick. But in the meantime, he pulled her down beside him in the overly large arm chair that was pretty much a couch. Giving her a hug from the side he insured that she was ending up like he wanted to. Wet. He pulled away from her, but left his arm resting on the back of the chair and grinned at her, almost daring her to complain that he'd just gotten her wet.

"I'm gonna use my brother's old Firebolt. It's a...four...forty-three... or thirty-four...? I can't think right now. My brother used it years ago when he played for Gryffindor. I hope it's not tainted with Gryffindor spirit," she said and laughed. Evelyn had her own broom, but it was a 14th birthday present, so she wasn't supposed to fly it yet. But she'd sneaked it out of the cupboard a few times. When Evelyn couldn't sleep, she liked to fly.

"Is Briar in the Owlery? I saw an owl like that, I think..she was really cute.." Jenny said, her memory now foggy. "Hmm..''




"Didn't think of that, Avery!" Jenny said, hopefully. "That's a great idea. I'm getting tired of the occasional name 'Strawberry Riddle'." Jenny said.

"Sounds interestinggg..."Really it sounded quite boring to her, but someones gotta do it. She poped another bubble and turned back to Fia.

Arya chewed her gum as she listened to Fia's story with intrest. She rubbed her arm at the thought of the hospital wing, glad she didn't go with them. She didn't know how somone could be hyperactive after passing out, but then again she didn't know the boy. "Well, I'm glad he's ok. So watcha been doin since then?" She was leaning forward now, working on another bubble.

Miranda waited with a bit of expectation to hear what kind of broom it was. But the girl didn't really seem to be sure of it. But, a Firebolt, she did know! "Oh how cool! That's one of the best broomsticks out there." She nodded with a smile. "Oh, you had a brother who went here? What position did he play?" Hmmm, maybe she knew the boy. Or, depending on when he actually attended school. Miranda laughed with the girl. "Well, it could be. But it will only help you fly better." She wasn't going to start insulting other houses. Hehehe.


Aw. Miranda was slightly dissapointed that he hadn't found him. But then he winked and Miranda smiled at him.

Yes. YES INDEED she would wait- Oh, nooo, but it was only going to get colder now! Awwww. But yes, she didn't want to get a cold. And Ryder better not get one either. "You better get dry before the tryouts. Hehe." But then he drew her closer to him and she shrieked and laughed, as he hugged her. She could feel her shirt getting wet. "Aaaah, it's so cold! What are you doing swimming in such cold water??" Yeah he already told her... She knows! Hehe. "Gosh, you must be freezing." Looking around, she summoned a blanket from another couch and put it over Ryder.

"So...How come you decided to go looking for the Squid?"

"Well, you see, over the summer, I decided that I wanted to be a groundskeeper, or something fairly similar, so that I could spend the majority of my time outside. And I wanted Masterson to teach me, but he refuses, says that it isn't something that I should set my life on," Ryder explained, "so I wanted to go find the squid so that I could prove to him that I was serious about this." Perhaps finding the squid was not the right thing to do, but it was the first thing he thought of.

"How are everything for the tryouts coming along?" He asked her. "If need be, I'll take Torin's bat away from him if you would like," he said jokingly.

Kylie walked into the Common Room after a long day. She literally fell into an armchair, hoping she could talk to a couple friends before heading off to take a nap.

Lorcan had been avoiding the common room a lot. He had been avoiding everyone in fact. He knew that there would questions about his hair for a start. His chin length curls were gone and he didn't really want to have to explain how.

He rolled up his sleeve and gently rubbed the long burn that had finally started to heal. It was going to leave a distinctive scar, he knew that. He was about to head off to the boys dormitory when he saw Kylie on her own. He walked over and smiled. "Hello Stranger."

Miranda watched Ryder as he started to explain. Groundskeeper? Really? Miranda always sort of thought he'd want to be a Healer...or a Professional Quidditch player or something. But he wanted to spend time outside, and she understood why he then had chosen Groundskeeper.

And it was a shame that Mister Masterson didn't want to help. It sounded almost like he didn't think anyone should be forced to have that job. Or something. Shrug. "Well, the important thing is you tried. And who knows, maybe Mr. Masterson will change his mind later... Have you talked to Professor Shackleton?" She was a nice person, she would surely be able to help out.

And oh, Quidditch. "Yeah...it's coming along." Miranda nodded her head gently. "Signups close soon, so the actual session will be here pRetty sOoon." And that meant more nerves. Blergh. Miranda laughed at Ryder's jesting. "Haha, well I'm glad you'll be there incase its necessary. But I'm sure everyone will be allright." Snort. She glanced to where she'd seen Torin sitting somewhere, hopng he hadn't heard. He was a nice guy, and was harmless with a bat. Tehe.

"Yes, I am sure they will be," he said. He knew that she was aware that he was only joking about the whole bat thing. Just remembering last season was great. But it made him think about Kaika. Briefly he wondered what she was doing now before he forced himself to think about other things.

"Professor Shackleton just told me to follow my passions," he told her. And that there was the reason why he was still so set on groundskeeper. Plus, he would be able to fly if he was here during the summer. Always a good thing. Perhaps later on his mind would change, but it seemed to incorporate the best of a lot of things in his life right now. Hopefully Masterson would agree to teach him.

Well, see there, their Head of House was an awesome woman. "Well, she's awesomely right." Miranda nodded once, determined. "I would've thought you'd want to become a Quidditch player...or maybe a Healer." She said with a flat smile and slightly raised eyebrows. But no...he wanted to be a Groundskeeper. She might just pay Masterson a visit and try to make him see reason. Maybe it could help. Or ruin it all. Naaaaaaaaah, help! Hehe.

Miranda was, like Ryder, also thinking of the future...or, what she'd like to be when she 'grew up'. But, who knows if it would turn out the way she wanted. "It's...a bit scary, isn't it?" She said, her brow furrowed, and realising she was about to voice her fears out loud for the first time. "The future..."

Baaaaah, let's not get all...weird here. She wriggled in the seat and rested her head on Ryder's shoulder, like during the half-game break last term. When Kaika was captain. Sigh.

Cadence walked into the Common Room with Nate, her new *friend*. Hmm... the only seat left in the Common Room was a love seat over in the corner sort of away from everyone else. That was pretty perfect.

She headed over to the loveseat and sat down, crossing her legs at the ankles and giving her hair another flip as she looked at Nate. "So, are you muggleborn, or did you just like playing football?" She liked getting to know people. Especially cute guys who were also really smart and nice. Even if they were just friends.

Nate looked around for any other chair but couldn't see one. He was uncomfertable sitting with her in the loveseat so he sat on the floor. The nice and dirty floor. "I just love playing football. I'm halfblood though. I used to live in Flordia but then i moved to London. How about you?"

Were people talking about him?

Because he heard the name Torin being mentioned, and he was pretty sure that he was the only Torin at the school.

He cleared his throat loudly and frowned at the girls. "Talking about me, huh?"

He wasn't really mad or anything, but he didn't like them talking about him when he was around. Come to think about it, he found it odd to be talked about in general.
