Closing his eyes and letting himself float away into the peacefulness of the common room, Aaron wondered if it was always like this or if everyone else was just at class or studying or something. That was until his barely entered thoughts were broken by a shriek, which caused him to abruptly sit up and open his eyes wide. Squinting at the figure that was now on the floor, it took the young boy a second to realize that she was familiar. She was, without a doubt, the captain. At least he thought she was the same one bellowing at them earlier today.

"You're the Hufflepuff Captain!" Aaron exclaimed, excitability coming back to him. Oh yes, his exhaustion doesn't last long . . . "And ... why are you on the floor? Is it comfortable? Do you not like the sofas? Are they unclean?" Before another question could be asked, because he already spat out a mouthful, Aaron hopped up off the comfortable couch and plopped down on the floor next to her. "Ahhhhhh...... Not bad"

"Sure thing!" she said standing up and waiting for him to whisk her away to the Great Hall for dinner.

"Ouch..." Miranda was grimacing, and slightly pouting, on the floor at the bleh fall. She sensed something looking at her and her eyes found the target. The little boy was...looking at her...like...like -

She was just about to say sorry, when the boy suddenly erupted like popped popcorn and started to ask her questions. "I, uh..." Miranda tried getting a word in but the boy seemed unstoppable, and he even hopped off the couch and plonked down on the floor. The Captain felt a smile coming on and she merely watched the boy.

Feeling it was safe to talk, Miranda took a breath. "Hi." She said and bit her lower lip. "Sorry about that, I wasn't watching where I was going..." And then she was the one to squint now. "You're...Rose...Aaron Rose, right?" She asked, remembering the little boy from the tryout session. The one who almost fell from his broom. Well, not fell from the broom...but almost.

Huh? Why was the girl pouting? She didn't like the floor? She was in Hufflepuff!! And Captain!! She should be happy! Of course he still didn't know her name... but he knew she was captain ... and that made her alright his sister was a captain so of course it did!

Finally, she smiled . . . mostly after he joined her at the floor and started speaking, much more calm than he had. Clearly she had learned to be more reserved; more hints that she was older. And... she knew who he was!!! She remembered him from the tryouts, which meant, he made a good impression!!! YAY!

"Yes... Aaron Rose, that's me!" Aaron said, puffing out his chest proudly. "So why you sitting on the floor anyway?" Now it was his turn to be confused. "And... you have a name, Miss Captain?" Of course she did, but what was it? "Well duh, I mean what's your name?"

Jenny looked at the picture, wondering if she might, for the fun of it, do hers bright yellow. For Hufflepuff pride. "I think over the summer I might do mine yellow with, like, white highlights. That wouldn't make my parents happy, though. They'd like it green and black." Jenny said. "They were Slytherins. You'll be back for the next year? Hooray!" Jenny began to dance. She wasn't the best at it, though.

Her eyes stayed on the boy as they sort of watched eachother. Miranda wasn't sure why the boy was now sitting on the floor, but he looked quite content to be there so she just let it be. Ah good! His name was Aaron Rose. "Nice to meet you-" And then he spoke again, looking quite proud. Miranda smiled at how excited he was. But wait, now he seemed confused? "Oh, I sort of..." ...was clumsy and fell on my butt? "...just felt like sitting here." She giggled akwardly and smiled at the boy. "What are you doing sitting on the floor? Was the couch not comfortable?" Her eyebrows raised in curiosity.

Tehe, Miss Captain! She liked the sound of that... Oh, her cheeks were starting to get a pinkish hue. "My name is Miranda BelCanto." she said, nodding once. "Nice to meet you, Aaron. You did well today, have you played for a long time?" It seemed like a long time. He looked strong aswell, for being a firstie.

Aaron could hardly contain his excitement in his veins; really, quidditch had exhausted him but gotten the blood flowing. And then the couple classes he'd been to so far had him itching for more. He could run a marathon with the adrenaline he had going right now through his system. And this girl, she was like REALLY sweet and all that AND she liked the floor, which was SUPER awesome and down-to-earth of her. YAY! Because she did just say she felt like sitting here. "Well it's a nice seat," Aaron agreed enthused, as she turned the question around to ask why he was sitting here. "You... Looked lonely and I felt all weird sitting on the couch when you were on the floor. So... I joined you." Honest answer; no wonder he was sorted into Hufflepuff.

Aww... the pinkish hue in her cheeks reminded Aaron of the kind [pretty] shopkeeper lady who was going to take him for ice cream. Tee hee... "Miirr-an-da" He repeated, accenting the 'an'. "Pretty," he nodded at her, and then his cheeks had their turn at flushing to a pinkish hue when she complimented him on his flying today. "Quidditch runs in my family. All my older siblings have played," Though they're like much older than me as the youngest of them is like ten years older... But Aaron didn't bother getting into THAT. "My sister actually had that very badge there in her final year," Aaron nodded, pointing a tiny finger at the badge on Miranda's robes. Yup, it was all he heard about the last two years; you better be as good as your sister. She was a prefect... she was a captain ... she was top of her year...yada yada yada ... REALLY?!?

Truth was, Aaron didn't care about being top of his year; he just wanted to enjoy himself. To keep busy and attempt to use up his seemingly endless supply of energy.

Quidditch Tryouts had been fun. Tehhe. Although she was a little tired as she made her way back to the common room, and for once in her life Brody Summers was nice wearing heels. Quite different she actually had some flat pump type shoes on that she probably would never wear again after these tryouts had finished.
Walking into the common room she looked around for someone interesting to talk to, because she wanted to talk...or gossip. She saw Miranda, and that a little guy from the tryouts, and made her way over to them.

"Hey Guys." She smiled, eyeing them as they sat on the floor. What was wrong with the really comfortable chairs? "Why...are you on the floor?" She asked as she sat on the couch, because she totally wasn't ruining her expensive robes. She looked down at them. Yes she was pretty sure that this couch was far more comfortable than the floor.

While Avery was waiting for Nymphy to come and dye her hair, she looked around for Cadence. She hadn't talked to her all day and wanted to catch up. She wanted to tell her about the DADA class and how scary the professor was! Avery was so short she couldn't see anything however, she she climbed up onto a chair to search of the heads of the crowd for her friend.

"Avery!" Cadence said laughing at her little firstie. "Get down!" She yelled from across the Common Room, completely amused. She walked over to the girl and sat down in the chair next to the one Avery was standing on. "What are you doing?"

"Looking for you!" Avery laughed as she sat down in the chair she was standing on. "I feel like I haven't talked to you all day! I went to the DADA class! It really was scary you weren't kidding!" Avery shivered a little thinking about the class she just attended. "We performed Unforgivalbe curses" Avery whispered to her friend in case other people might be listening.

"What?!" Cadence exclaimed in shock. "He can't do that! That's against the law!" Wow, Cadence couldn't believe Professor Duskurk would do that. That was definitely not okay. "Is everyone okay? Are you hurt? What happened?" she asked, now whispering.

"Of course every one is okay! We did them on spiders! My wouldn't do anything...I couldn't get it to work! I didn't know they were illegal...." Avery hoped that Cadence wasn't going to be mad at her for doing the spells. She was just going to class that's all. "Are you mad?" Avery asked her.

"No, not at you, at him. You mean he let you do Unforgivable curses and didn't even tell you why they were Unforgivable?" Cadence simply couldn't believe this. Someone should tell the Headmaster. Teaching first year's those curses! What was he thinking? This was not okay. Not okay at all. Creepy, scary, crazy man.

[/COLOR] "I heard rumor that the headmaster went to talk to him about it already." Avery blushed a little thinking she was naughty even thought it was really the professors fault. "But enough about my day....how was yours?" Aver was interested in hearing about Cadence's new boyfriend.

Oh... her day. Well, it had definitely been interesting. She'd start with the good part first. She held out her right hand, showing Avery the beautiful ring Nate had given her. "Look! Isn't it beautiful? Nate gave it to me! It was his grandmother's... she told him to give it to someone special. It's an antique!" she was positively giddy and couldn't stop smiling. Someone was going to let her gush about Nate, and she could talk about him all the time. "And then we went to the Room of Requirement... he wanted me to teach him to dance. So, I taught him to do the waltz, but then this song came on called "Jump then Fall" and we just started dancing, and it was just so perfect. He's so great Avery! He makes me so happy! I hardly ever stop smiling when I'm with him!"

Avery looked at the ring Candence was showing "It's beautiful Cady!" Avery positively gushed over the ring. "I'm glad you found some one you like so much! From what I've seen of him, he seems like a good guy!" Avery nudge her friend a little. "So...have you seen much of Tyler then?" Avery wondered what happened Tyler. She hadn't seen him since the feast.

Cadence smiled at Avery's compliment and admirations of her boyfriend. "Yeah, I'm pretty fond of him." she said with a giggle.

Oh... Tyler. She tucked her hair behind her ear and then put her hands back in her lap. "Yeah... I've seen him a little bit. He has a girlfriend now." And that was the only information she would offer willingly. if Avery wanted to know more, she'd ask.

"Oh...." Avery didn't want to say too much, even though Cadence had a boyfriend Avery was sure she was still a little hurt by Tyler's actions. "Well now Cadence we have to find me a boyfriend" She winked at her. "Know any other cute boys" She smiled and started to scan the room to see if she say any at this moment.

Cadence giggled. "Well, I know this one kid, but he's in Gryffindor, and I'm not sure if he has a girlfriend or not, actually... Besides, you're only a first year! What's the hurry?!" She really should get on her homework, but this was waaaaay more fun. "I thought Nymphy was going to dye your hair."

"I thought he was going to too. But I can't find him. I think he's still in class or something. As soon as he gets here we are going to" Alyssa started thinking about the red she was going to be putting into her hair. "There is no hurry....but I'm jealous of you" Avery smiled and stuck her tongue out at her friend. "Not really, but it would be nice to have some one care about me like that!"

Cadence looked around the Common Room searching for Nymphy, but didn't see him anywhere around either, then she shrugged. "It's really nice to have someone who cares about me so much, but I had a boyfriend when I was in my first year, ya know? And it was kind of just... weird." she said with a laugh. "Believe me, right now it's probably to just have friends who really really care about you. The whole boyfriend thing can get really confusing and complicated sometimes."

"I suppose you are right" Avery sighed. "I wish Nymphy would get here before I get to scared to acutally go through with it." Avery laughed and began once again looking for Nymphy!

Cadence smiled at her lovable anxiety. Was she this much fun as a firstie? Probably not. "You know, I've never dyed my hair, but if I did, I'd want to became a total redhead." And then she remembered that Lucy had died her hair red. "Couldn't do it now though. Tyler's girlfriend just dyed her hair red, and I'm pretty sure she'd think I was just trying to copy her." With this, Cadence rolled her eyes. She'd always loved red hair, always wanted it, but her parents wouldn't allow her because she was too young, and her grandparents DEFINITELY would not have been okay with her dying her hair. Maybe she would sometime. Not the muggle way, though. She'd do it with magic so that she could change it back right away if she hated it or messed it up. "I wonder what Nate would think about me having red hair?" she wondered aloud with a giggle.

Having just trooped back from the lake, Sarah was feeling a little tired.But she wanted to get the written portion of her Transfiguration homework out of the way, now she had done the practical.

Muttering the password, she got a whiff of the kitchens as she went to step inside the common room, making her stomach rumble.One of these days she would get down there and ask the elves for something.But right now a sofa by the fire was calling her.

Slinging her bag down on the floor, Sarah sat down in the empty, plush seat, curled her legs underneath her and stared at the flames for a few seconds.It was utterly mesmerising to see them dance from one side to the next, almost as if they had their own musical rythmn she couldn't hear.Staring was not what she was sat there for, though, and with a shake of the head to clear her thoughts, Sarah reached down and pulled out her parchment and quill.Chewing on the end, she looked at her notes from the lesson and set about answering the questions.
