When she called him a liar he scowled at her.

"Look Kylie, I had a rubbish summer. I got hurt. I got my hair cut. I came back to school and that's all there is to it." He was lying again but he was not going to tell her. He wouldn't cry in the middle of the common room. Lorcan had changed over the summer and it wasn't necessarily a change for the better.

"Yeah. How about you? And by the way, I love it when you fidget with my collar, its so cute. I just was to eat you." he said blushing a little but smiling a lot. He pretended to lurch forward to eat her neck but ended up kissing it once or twice.

"We can go somewhere if you want." She meant it. She wanted to help Lorcan, nothing more. She knew from personal experiences that bottling things up hardly ever worked to the advantage of anyone.

Avery returned to the dormitory after her DADA class. The professor was semi scary, but nothing that she couldn't handle. She saw Nymphy waiting at a table for her with the dye in hand. She was slightly nervous about it and wasn't sure how she was going to like it. "Are you sure about this Nymphy? I mean what if I look like a fool?"

Cadence giggled a lot as he kissed her neck. As he resurfaced, she kissed him on the lips. "My day just got infinitely better!" she said, smiling at him, deciding NOT to tell him about the Lucy drama of the day.

"Well seeing how it is almost over, I'm guessing that's a good thing. So what did you do today?" he said wrapping his arms around her small waist.

Lorcan's scowl deepened. Why am I surrounded by these girls who insist on knowing every rotten thing.

"You're not going to leave this alone are you?" He asked her hopelessly. "Fine. Let's go for a walk then, cos I'm not tell you here." he said sourly, hoping that if he was unpleasant enough, she wouldn't want to walk with him.

Which he knew probably wouldn't work. Without looking at her, he stuffed his bag under the chair and then strode out of the common room.

She nuzzled her face against his neck, so happy to be back somewhere that she didn't feel scared or out of control or angry or hurt. "Oh... umm... nothing..." Change the subject, Cady, change.the.subject. "So do I ever get to meet any of your friends, Nateypoo?" she asked giggle at the horrible nickname she had just made up to distract him.

"Babe, just tell me. For gosh sakes, you saw me cry, you can tell me." he said looking her in the eyes being sort of serious.

Cadence took a deep breath and sighed. Nate was not going to like this at.all. "I met up with Tyler in the library today. He's dating Lucy now. And he's tired of her and I having this silent feud of ours. So, he made me go talk to her, and it was... not pretty..." she trailed off, looking into the fire, hoping Nate wouldn't get mad at Tyler because that was soooo not what this conversation needed to be about right now. She just wanted to relax.

"Well, if you need me to do anything, I'm right here." he said hugging her waist tighter towards his. "Anything good happen today?"

She giggled. "If you're asking me if I want you to fight my battles for me, no. Believe me, I'm more than capable of standing up for myself, and if she doesn't like me, then she doesn't like me. I tried to play nice, but some people just... aren't meant to get along, I guess." Hmm... had anything good happened today? "Oh... lots of good things have happened today..." she said, looking up at him with a sweet smile.

"Oh really?" he said poking her nose.

Cadence flinched when he poked her nose and scrunched up her face. "Hey! Don't do that! It makes me freak out!" She said, giggling a little and her face turning red. "And yes, a lot of good things have happened. Like every minute I've been able to spend with you!" She had been planning to say this really cutely, but since he poked her nose, she decided to pretend to be a little snotty and then stick her tongue out at him before laying her head back down on his shoulder.

"Hey, that's no way to treat your wonderful boyfriend!" he said laying his cheek on hers. He liked holding her close like this. It felt right ever since the whole lake incident.

She giggled yet again. Cadence seemed to do that a lot when she was with Nate. She just felt so... happy and free. "Well, I guess saving my life does make you pretty wonderful, huh?" she said, fidgeting with the collar of his shirt again. "I'm kind of disappointed I didn't see the giant squid..." she said, trying to be serious for a moment. Buuut being incapable of doing so, she simply started laughing and buried her face in his shoulder for a moment.

Nate blushed and kissed her hair. He stroked it and sighed happily. Well, maybe not so happily but hopefully Cady didn't notice. "Have you noticed teachers handing out all these free coupons when you get points? Did they do this before? I never got any yet though."

"Yeah, I've gotten a couple..." she said, pulling them out of her pocket. "I got one from the Headmaster for a free dessert for pointing him toward Mr. Masterson's cabin. And I got one from Mr. Masterson for a free Butterbeer because, well, just because..." Actually, Cadence wasn't very sure at all why Mr. Masterson had given her the coupon. Perhaps because she'd been about to cry? "When we're allowed to go into Hogsmeade, we should go use them!" she said, her eyes suddenly getting very wide with excitement. "I love going to Hogsmeade! Especially in the winter! I love sitting inside and drinking something warm by the window and watching the village get covered in snow! Do you like the snow?" She had never asked Nate this question, and it was probably important to know, because she loved the snow and the winter, but if Nate didn't, she certainly wouldn't drag him outside into it very often.

"Hogsmede sounds great! But I've never exactly seen snow before. I lived in Flordia till age 11 then moved to London where we go back home to Flordia relatives every winter then last year I transferred here when my mum lost her job after Christmas. So I have never seen a lick of snow." he said cuddleing with her.

Cadence sat up abruptly with an expression of disbelief on her face. "Youve never... never EVER... seen snow?!" Cady simply couldn't fathom this possibility. "You've never thrown a snow ball or gone ice skating or been sledding or made a snowman?"

"I've seen those things on TV. I went iceskating inside at this rink thing in FL. But I don't know what sledding is." he said wanting her to lay back down. He was now cold even though they were sitting next to the fire.

Of course Aaron had been in the Hufflepuff Common Room; he'd been at Hogwarts for a couple weeks now, but he never really spent much time there other than just passing through to go to the first year boys dormitory. It was only now, just after his first quidditch tryout, that he realized he was too exhausted to make it any further. Guess sugar rushes die even in the young ones eventually!

Sighing as the small four foot five boy stood just inside the common room, his light eyes flickered around searchingly. Lots of people , but no Cy . . . No Treyan . . . and sadly, the newest Rose in Hufflepuff didn't know much of anyone else. Yet he wasn't put in Hufflepuff for his sullen personality; Aaron Rose was FAR from sullen. No, he was put there because even though he knew noone and everyone seemed to be chattering away happily, he could just interject and offer his excitable opinion.

Except, he didn't have it in him. Nope, right now the hyperactive little boy just wanted to collapse on the plump oversized couch (that Amelia had neglected to tell him about). Which is exactly what he did a moment later as he found himself plopped down on the couch. It was as comfortable as it looked too!

She let out a little squeal/giggle of excitement. "Nate! Just wait! You're going to have so much fun! I hope you don't mind being cold, though, because you WILL be cold, but the snow is SOOOOOO much fun!" Ah! She couldn't believe Nate had never played in the snow before. This winter was going to be so much fun; he had no idea what he was in for. Cady couldn't wait to show him all the fun one could have in the snow.

Nate smiled and just laughed a little. She was so hyper about him going in the snow. "Oh, hey, want to go get dinner?" he said slowly sitting up.

Well, now. That went quite well... Right?

Miranda's brow was furrowed as she entered the commonroom. She was trying to think of other good Tryout excerisesesesssss for the potential teammates. Her eyes wandered up to the ceiling in thought and, knowing the commonroom by hearts, made her way over to one of the couches.

She was just about to launch herself onto the softness of the couch, when she noticed a little boy already sitting there. "Ah!" She shrieked, more for fright that she might squash the boy than anything else, and quickly maneuvered to not...kill whoever it was. Miranda flailed for a second before falling onto the floor.
