Eh?

"Sure, Aaron," Gold said. She wasn't even certain what she was agreeing to. All she knew was that Professor Bunbury's not-too-happy mood was affecting her own spirits.

Ugh.

She shook herself out of her messy, 'why the HECK am I not happy, all of a sudden?' thoughts, and turned her attention back to Aaron. At least he wasn't quiet, anymore.

"I can use Incendio on the water, if you'll do that," she said, trying to sound cheerful, again. "Let's get, set, go."

Le sigh.

Was it him or did Gold seem awfully quiet too? Maybe this was usual for Professor Bunbury to have such an effect on her classes? He wouldn't really know since this was his first lesson with the woman.

Ah good though, she was agreeing to use incendio, which was a spell he knew vaguely but not quite familiar with . . . because well, him and fire were not a good combination.

"Aguamenti," Aaron cast quietly, flicking his wand like the newbie magic student that he was. A slow trickle of water came from his wand. Clearly he wasn't the most inept student, but he wasn't the worst either.

"Uh... I don't think that's enough water." He looked to his other two group members. Help?

Right.

Gold tried to shake off the sudden bout of unhappiness again and, this time, succeeded a bit. She was able to give Aaron a thumbs-up as he took to casting the water charm.

But oh, that really wasn't enough water. "Try that again," Gold said, encouragingly. "... and hold your wand like this. This." She gripped her own wand, to show him how to do it. "That should help."

Yep, she was confident he could do it. She gave him an encouraging nod, and waited for him to try the spell again.

....

She felt better.

About to just give up and ward off the task of filling up their teapot with water to someone else, he frowned when Gold told him to try it again. He couldn't do it. "But...." Aaron started to complain. They were out of time! It'd be faster, better, for someone else to do it. Right? And then she was encouraging him with a new way to hold his wand . . . a way that was better, less tight then most first years held their wand, until told otherwise.

Loosening his grip slightly, he sighed. He could do this. He knew he could. "Aguamenti!" he said again, this time though, the steady flow of water lasted for more than a minute. It actually filled up the pot near halfway!! "I did it!" And yet even though he was happy, his energy was still not the same.

"Aguamenti," Aaron cast again, flicking his wand as Gold instructed. The water was filled almost to the brim. YAY!

Gold watched Aaron with bright eyes, as he tried the spell again. It worked, too! "Great job!" she said, all happy again. Because he hadn't given up, which was brilliant.

Not to mention, the container was now full. Gold pointed her wand underneath it, and cast a cheerful "Incendio." The flames that erupted were quite bright, hot enough to make the water come to a boil, in a few minutes. Thank God the cup wasn't made of glass, though! Because if it had been, it would totally have shattered.

"There," she grinned, tucking her wand back into its holster. Hehe. "We're all done."

"Oh ok," Emily replied and then in answer to the other girls question she explained "Emily Black. I guess im muggleborn...Its kind of confusing, but you've heard of Sirius Black, yeah? Well he was my, like, four hundred and fifty sixth cousin or something, but im a muggleborn at the same time....weird huh? Apparently Sirius' great great great whatever Uncle, Marius Black, was a squib, and he was my great great etcetera grandfather, and he married a muggle and had muggle kids so yea..." Emily shrugged "It was a bit of a surprise when that witch came to deliver my letter...although it did explain how i could turn my sisters hair green whenever she nicked my stuff..." she mused almost to herself, then looked back up at Nicoletta "I'd refuse to change it back until she gave my stuff to me... I only had to do it a few times"
Then she turned to the tea cup the boy had placed in front of her and took an apprectiative sniff "Mmmm smells gooooooood" she told him after echoing his toast.

Bella smiled lightly, the lesson was finished, and homework to do. Should be fun! She told herself as she picked up her teacup and said a spell to clean it out. Once it was all clean, not a spec of tea leaf in it she put it on the Professor's table.

Walking back to the table, she leant down and grabbed her bag, slinging it over her shoulder and heading for the door. "Thanks for a good lesson Professor" She called to her, smiling.

"Wow Kay!", said Ginny as she saw the water flow out from Kay's wand. "How long will it take to boil?"

Evelyn was pleasantly surprised, and tried to hide her smile. She rarely got praise from professors and she felt that her skills at magic and teamwork had really improved since coming to Hogwarts.

Evelyn got out her wand and held it near the kettle. "Incendio," she called, and a small flame appeared at the end of her cherry wand.

"Are both of you going to have some tea?" she asked Ginny and Kay, as she waiting for it to boil. "Do you think we should drink it in here or do you want to take it somewhere else?"

A lot of steam was coming out of the pot, so Evelyn stopped her spell, putting her wand away again. "Looks ready! she beamed.

"I'm fine anywhere", said Ginny smiling. "Your magic is very good Ev".

Oh yes, although neither Arya nor Allison could read each other's mind, a narrator can...and Arya was completely right. Allison would indeed stay to listen to see what Cela had to say. Nodding to Arya as she left, the young Ravenclaw stared really hard at the cup with the leaves as if with her eyes alone the hot water would appear and fill the cup. Seeing as neither was happing she pointed her wand and said, "Auguah cal-ien-teh." Actually believing that by saying it in very bad Spanish it would work, Allison peeked an eye into the cup and saw the dry leaves were still there.

That's when she overheard girls magically putting water into a kettle and heating it with fire out of their wands. Groaning Allison stared at her wand, she still hadn't learned how to use either incantation properly. Following what Arya did Allison reached over and collected her things. No use in stealing other's water, so instead she made sure everything was packed and ready to leave. She'd have to go hunt down warm water from the kitchens or something. Yet Allison still waited for her tea to be magically ready without water, recalling the smell of tea she cringed. She had never ever ever had tea in her life. The one time her grandmother had said it was healthy she had immediately refused to take it. Healthy meant gross.

Staring at the tea waiting for it to come out and attack her with its I'm-actually-not-tea-yet-because-I-lack-water, Allison perked up her ears and waited for Cela's odd question to be answered.

"Thanks. We can going anywhee you would like. We can sit and talk about class and maybe get homework done." Kay said smiling it was nice to have new friends.

"Yeah. Come Ev", said Ginny smiling.

"Let go to the kitchen and we can have something to eat with our tea." Kay smiled at he friends. "What do you think?"

Alexis walked into the greenhouse and with glee said, "Hello Professor, I can't wait to start!" and stood with the other students.

"Great. I'll drop my stuff off and meet you in the kitchen." kay said smiling and grabbing her stuff. "I'll bring the tea if you would like."
