The Headmaster's office was a remarkably tidy place. The desk was devoid of the normal office-related hodgepodge, empty of stacks of papers and quill nubs spilling from desk drawers. It was especially odd considering the former occupant of this office.

Spread across the room were a few signs as to the disposition of the man in question. Heavy coffee mugs and steins perched atop one bookshelf, the shelves beneath lined with travel guides, language books, and Dark Magic and defense tomes. A few photographs of the Headmaster and people of varying nationalities sat on a low shelf behind his desk, under the large window that often hung open to the grounds.

The only real oddity in the office, or the only one in plain site, was a foe glass. The contents were murky, although occasionally a face rose to the surface that looked something like the DADA professor, but it disappeared before recognition. The Headmaster mostly ignored it.

You absolutely may not enter this office unless given the password or given access by the Headmaster. If you RP yourself here without following instructions, your post will be unceremoniously deleted.

"I don't know Casey..." She said looking at the runes... "I don't think Reynard had any clue what these were... he wasn't familiar with the Futhark Runes, I doubt he knew these..." she thought about it and added "and to tell you the truth, if Pepe knew these runes were here, he'd call me in. He'd give them to me. What are YOU thinking, Case?"

"I'm thinking..." He studied her, weighing how much he could trust her. He trusted Kade. He trusted himself.

It was a short list.

"I'm thinking that either Bontecou took off, and he's guilty as sin, or he was taken. These runes point to him being taken, as they don't seem likely evidence of pulling a runner."

Alessia's eyes began to widen. "Taken?" The moon... the traveling rune... the body binding stones... She was starting to feel better that she wasn't left... but now she was really worried. "Taken by whom?" She asked starting to feel her breathing get fast. "Casey, why?"

"Lupa." Tate leaned forward, fixing her with a stern look. "I need to get a hold of yourself once again. If we are role models for the students, then panic or fretting will do them no good. I have no earthly idea where Bontecou has gone, but I know that we do him no good by getting upset."

The man was probably quite the survivor anyway. They should trust him to care for himself if he had indeed been whisked away.

"Yes..." She said trying to calm herself. "You are right, of course you are right." She said closing her eyes. "Alright... I'm calm. I'm calm. What do you want me to do? Anything?" She asked.

"Study the runes. Figure out what they do, how they work... all that. We'll figure out how they got here and who took him," he leaned over and gave her hand a little pat.

His men never needed comforting. Sigh.

"You and Bontecou must have been good friends. I'm sorry for your loss."

"Yes, you are right. We were good friends. I cared about him a lot." She said trying not to give anything away. "I'll work on the runes. Should I check with Professor Duskurk? If there is anything dark associated with the runes." She would have asked Papa Valon, but he still hadn't come to school.

"Willing to speak to him now, eh? Sure. If you need assistance, you can ask Tommy Boy, but I have confidence that you'll figure it out. Keep me informed."

He leaned back in his chair. Meeting... over?

"Tommy boy?" She asked confused... wasn't this the very proper Professor Duskurk? "I'll keep you informed." She said and stood. She walked around the desk and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you..." She said.

Nate followed the headmaster in. He waited for him to let him sit. He wasn't quite sure what he was going to say but it had to be done. His heart was pounding but it was just because he had to talk to a powerful adult.

Headmaster Tate took a seat behind his desk before pointing to the chair opposite for the boy to take. "So... is this visit academic in nature? Or personal? Or just a social call?"

He was really starting to wonder why people kept showing up just to stare at him.

Nate was rambling and explaining and he hoped the headmaster caught the important stuff.

"You know... people often expect that they can misbehave and that no one will hold them accountable for what they did. It sounds like she made a bad decision that had her removed from the school, which is unfortunate, and she's going to have to learn to live with the consequences of that action. Namely, she has to figure out how to earn back the trust of her housemates."

Tate was glad he was scaring the boy, to be honest. He needed to stop feeling sorry for this girl and help her fit in again. "If someone is specifically targeting her or causing her bodily harm, however, then she needs to come see me herself. Please encourage her to visit me with her concerns."

"You don't understand. She was ruining the common room, well she doesn't really know but, I suspect she was so upset about her boyfriend and parents dying so close together she just flipped. She was locked away in St.Mungo's for two years and now she is back. They are targeting her because she hasn't interacted with kids in two years. I just...please...I don't know what to do." he said his eyes filling with tears. The only person he had cried in front of was Cadence and that was an accident. "I just want it to stop. So she can be happy." he whispered.

"Are you suggesting she needs to go back to Mungo's?"

"Can I turn them in anomously? Uninomously? Without them finding out? I don't belive she needs to go back to Mungo's because she is over it. She just is scared to walk through the halls by herself." he said wiping his eye. He had stopped crying and thought out a resonable plan. Ish.

Oh, how Max hated doing this but he had to do it. It was his duty. His responsibility. And why did I take this job again? Oh, yeah - I was bored and given an ultimatum and the benefits are great. These thoughts and others passed through is mind as he walked up the steps leading from the stone gargoyle and entered the Headmaster's Chambers.

Oh, good. STUDENTS.

Vindictus breathed and knocked on the stone arched doorway. "Pardon the intrusion," he said with the utmost politeness but there was a sense of urgency in his body language. "I have an urgent matter to discuss with you, Headmaster Tate."

"You want to accuse someone of harassing this girl that you say you care about, but you aren't brave enough to put your name to it? Just tell me who it is." Tate had little patience for game playing.

"My boy, you're sending me very mixed messages. I think you want change but you don't want to take action on it. YOU are a housemate of hers, but you won't stand up for her. You won't tell me who is doing it, but you expect me to act. You won't tell her to come see me, but you think I can help. You are tying my hands."

They were interrupted by the arrival of the Ravenclaw Head of House, and Tate smiled broadly at him. It was about time! "We're almost finished here, Professor. If you'll wait just a moment."

"When you're ready to start talking about details, my boy, I'm here. And remember that it would be better for your friend to just come and speak to me herself," Tate waved his hand to indicate the boy was free to leave.

Now that was ODD. Totally odd and uncalled for. Were the rest of the staff bursting in here and griping about everything? If they were, maybe I need to smack 'em with a broom.

"Neither, Headmaster Tate," Vindictus said casually as he walked towards the seat and sat down. "I'm actually here regarding a peculiar owl I received and realized that you might be in, ahem, possible danger."
