"Well, that's how I've always thought of him," Kellen amended slightly. "But he's into the hunting, and the outdoors, and the acting manly, and..." He shrugged, "Truthfully, I think he's trying to get me away from Chaucer for a summer. Those two... aren't exactly on friendly terms."
Kellen looked down at Neptune, an eyebrow raised, "I'm sorry, I surprised you? In what way? If I really wanted to surprise you, I'd lean in and kiss you back!"
Again, Sabel had to blink at Neptune. Let her know if....he blinked again. That didn't sound so much like a request or question as a command. Swallowing he considered the options and decided on the best route, forcing a weak smile. "Thank you Neptune. That is very kind of you. I'm...very grateful for your concern." Grateful for her consideration of his well being.
He altered his attention to Kellen, forcing himself not to look at the Slytherin table. Kellen's dad did not sound like the Kellen he knew, or the Chaucer. Well except on the awkward hugs; men that acted manly tended not to find such actions desirable. "I see..."
And then there was the kissing comment, and Sabel had to blink wide-eyed at his friend. He did realize this was Neptune he was talking to, right? He glanced between them, noticing the fading blush on each of their cheeks. Unless they were serious....

Neptune gave Sabel the little appreciative pat. "You're a good boy, Sabel. Clumsy, and I don't know about your choice in other female company," like, non-Neptune females, "but you're a good boy. You WILL write to me, won't you?" Yes? Yes. Definitely.
Then those big blues turned on Kellen, then narrowed dangerously, "You wouldn't dare."
"Of course I wouldn't, Miss Bott." He tossed his head a little, a grin barely keeping itself from spreading across his face, "Especially not now: you'd know it was coming, and that's hardly a surprise, is it?"
Kellen's eyes turned to Sabel, "Anyway, I guess what I wanted to know was if you have any plans for the summer? Besides, you know, visiting your family. Because I'm..." He rubbed the back of his neck, "I've never spent longer than a weekend with my father, and I have no idea what this will be like. I was kind of wondering if you wanted to come? Even for a week or so?"
Giving Neptune a small smile, he nodded his head, his throat suddenly constricted with the mention of other female company. He just...wasn't going to go there. "I'll...need an address to write to." Because despite how most of the school knew she was Miss Bott, he was pretty sure the muggle postal service back home had no idea who she was or where she lived.
And then there was Kellen. Sabel smiled a little at him. Always and forever the knight in scuffed up armor. The boy certainly had a way with women. But this camping thing, he seemed like he had his visor snapped fully over his vision. The smile widened a fraction more with memories of home and camping in the mountains; it had been too long, and he felt a sudden yearning for their serenity. Suddenly, the end of the semester couldn't come quick enough. "I...would be honored to join you...if...I won't be a bother."

"Oh, Sabel. Of COURSE you'll be a bother. You'll fall down fifty THOUSAND times and almost always say the wrong thing - but you ARE pleasant company. Even I am considering inviting you to visit me." Neptune again gave him soft little pats. She was kind of petting him really. She was alternating between petting Sabel and giving Kellen the stink!eye.
"If you DID, Kellen Stern, I'd just IGNORE you. Like you did me. And I'm not coming to visit you in Canada either. Not that you asked me." Which was a whole OTHER thing. HMPH.
Kellen grinned and nodded enthusiastically at Sabel, "Of course you wouldn't be a bother! This is going to be fun, Raiden said he might come too! If nothing else, it'll be an adventure, right?"
He gave Neptune a knowing look as she described Sabel, "And come on, Neptune, there's no way Sabel says the wrong thing more often than I do. And..." He felt the tingle start coming back to his cheeks and willed it away, "I wasn't ignoring you. I was just being..." he shrugged, leaving what he 'was just being' up for interpretation. "Besides, you said you were spending the summer at some compound. That sounds a lot nicer than being dragged through bear-infested swamps. And Sabel already lives in Canada."
Strange. Was Kellen flustered? That, would indeed be a moment in history. Though, perhaps the greater moment would come when Kellen realized that he was flustered.
As for himself, he was between a half weak smile and a blank look. Normally, Neptune's words would be humorous, but he was just beginning to understand the Headmaster's speech about the right words at the right time. And it was her words about him saying the wrong words that stung. And then there was Kellen, sticking up for him again.
"Not all swamps are bear infested." Sabel put in quietly. He really didn't want to say more than that. It sounded dangerously like another argument brewing and he really didn't want to be a part of such a thing. Of course, he was probably just being paranoid. "You...can come visit if you want...both of you. My parents wouldn't mind."

Someone had caught her in the middle of her ritual chocolate stuffing. Lookng up, Lucy realized it was Mika, so she relaxed a bit. Swallowing her bite, she smiled at her, and hugged her back.
"Heyyy Mika!" She said, now reaching for a goblet of pumpkin juice. "Oh, not much, just...OH!" She said suddenly, her eyes bulging for a second as she realized something.
"Hey! You wanna come visit me at my house over the summer, Mika?? Huh, huh? Tyler and Kat are coming to stay, but my parents said I could invite other friends, too!!" She said excitedly and took a gulp of her juice.
Mika glared at Lucy. She didn't seem too happy about the year ending, either. Although Mika was BAD at reading people. Veryyy bad.
"Oh, I'd love to!" Mika said and looked up happily. That would be soooo fun! She couldn't wait to meet Tyler and Kat again. And she didn't have any other plans... It would be soooo funnnnnn!
Mika took the juice from behind Lucy and poured some for herself. "Thank you, I'd love to!" Oh, she already said that...

Roxanna had only been up to her dorm briefly to change clothes for the end of term feast before heading down again. Walking up the many staircases alone had been a bit scary, especially up the fourth and fifth floor but the danger had been taken care of. Her mouth was all well now thanks to Healer Ashford's efforts. Roxanna skipped down the last steps of the grand staircase to walk into the feast. With a cute red ribbon in her blond hair along with her usual robes the first year took an empty seat at the Gryffindor table.

Upon entering the Great Hall Nancy stifled yet another yawn as she let her tired eyes roam the different house tables. Right now she felt majorly uncomfortable without her sunglasses on to hide the dark circles around her eyes which highly suggested a bad case of insomnia. Or something of the likes. The blonde ran a hand through her hair as she slowly approached the Slytherin before stopping rather abruptly. Her blue eyes had fallen on a tiny blonde Gryffindor girl who had just taken a seat at her table. The tiny blonde Gryffindor girl.
Another wave of anxiety washed over her as she simply stood there for a moment, staring at the girl indecisively. What was she supposed to do? Slowly, very slowly, Nancy changed direction until she was heading towards the Gryffindor House Table. Averting her eyes towards the floor she hovered a little awkwardly next to where the Gryffie was seated, chewing on her lower lip. Until..."Uhm...hey." Guh, awkward much?

Roxanna was just about to start a conversation with the girl sitting next to her when she heard someone approach. Looking to the side she saw the Slytherin girl whom had langlocked her on the fourth floor. And she was standing right next to her. Oh, yikes what if the girl was out to hex her again? Calm down breath. Oliver wasn't cursed anymore so this girl shouldn't be either, right? Unsure on how best to react Roxxy smiled up "Hey! You're the girl from the fourth floor, right?"

Looking to the side she saw the Slytherin girl whom had langlocked her on the fourth floor. And she was standing right next to her. Oh, yikes what if the girl was out to hex her again? Calm down breath. Oliver wasn't cursed anymore so this girl shouldn't be either, right? Unsure Roxxy how to react she smiled up saying "Hey! You're the girl from the fourth floor, right?"
Oh, good, at least she hadn't started screaming for help and dashed off. She wouldn't have had the strength nor patience to go after her. Which made the whole thing so much easier. NOT.
Her verbal reaction could have been worse too. She could have said, "Hey! You're the scary, horrible girl who langlocked me for no apparent reason. Me! A tiny innocent Gryffindor firstie. You should be expelled." See, it could have been worse. Again, not very helpful, though.
"Uh...yeah, I guess I am..." Finally the 17 year old moved her gaze towards the girl she was talking to...and blinked a few times. She was smiling at her?! Just that little, tiny facial expression made her feel a little - even only a very small "little" - bit better. "I...I just...wanted..." Guh, she had never felt so horrible in her entire life. "I just wanted to apologize...for...you know." No need to actually relive the whole thing right?

Had she done the right thing? Should she have screamed for help, dashed off towards Miranda or Oliver? Or even lashed out at the girl for what she had done. No, She had done the right thing...It was after all not in Roxxy's nature to hold grudges and this girl could have been what was it Oliver called it...Yes, now she remembered imperiused..or something like that..Being a puppett of someone else. Not in control of ones actions.
Roxxy listened as the other girl explained why she had come over in the first place. To apologise for her actions. "Erm you mean you want to apologise for langlocking me on the fourth floor?" she said with an air of curiosity.

...or maybe there was a need to relive the whole thing. Apparently. In the girl's opinion. GUH! Nancy literally winced when the firstie actually stated what she was trying hard not to say aloud. Well, duh. "Yeah, exactly." At this she averted her eyes once again, and one couldn't completely miss the slight hint of annoyance which accompanied her tones. Weren't the nightmares bad enough?! Did she need somebody to remind her of what she did that day?! No, thank you.
Not that she voiced any of that of course. It wasn't the firstie's fault after all. Besides, she really really felt bad about what she'd done. Which was why Nancy slowly lowered herself into a seat close to the girl's. "Soo...uhm...you okay?" She hadn't exactly talked to Oliver since that which was why she had no idea whether or not he had found her and/or brought her to the Nurse.
Putting the words to what had happened seemed in Roxxy’s eyes to be the reasonable thing to do. The other girl had without any reason at all really, hexed her tongue. It had been a mean action no doubt about it. The older blond didn’t seem all that happy even irritated about the fact that Roxxy had said what had transpired out loud. And the averted gaze spoke for itself which made Roxxy ask straight out "Are you irritated with me?"
If the other girl was irritated then what was she supposed to be confused? Sad? Hurt? Shaking her head Roxxy looked away from the Slytherin whom now had taken the vacant seat next to her at the table. Where was Miranda? She needed her help or even Oliver. Turning back to the other girl Roxxy looked into her eyes saying a bit hotly "Yes I’m okay now. But not thanks to you. If it hadn’t been for Oliver then I’d still be up there alone, scared and hurt." Sighing Roxxy regretted her hot outburst and said more softly ''Not that you could help it, of course.''
Yeah, great, rub salt into the wounds, why don't you? Nancy felt the distinctive urge to just leave. She had done what she had come to do for after all, so no reason for her to stay any longer. Just as she had decided to turn on her heels and go the tiny Gryffie spoke up again. Well, duh, obviously. She couldn't SAY that, though, so she simply chose to shake her head. Yes, lying was bad, but sometimes it was just necessary.
...though right now, sitting there on the same bench as the girl, Nancy questioned her decision to lie. She could be over there at the Slytherin Table again, minding her own business. Instead she had to sit there next to the Gryffie girl who obviously did not want her there. And who could blame her?
ZOMG! Tired blue eyes immediately flickered towards the other girl as she went on a rampage...against HER obviously. During the girl's "speech" she felt the anger rise inside of her but when she had finished it had disappeared...and been replaced by something else. Guilt. A feeling of being a horrible person. "Yeah, I know...sorry." She simply gave in. Nancy did not have the strength to argue anymore.
Mika glared at Lucy. She didn't seem too happy about the year ending, either. Although Mika was BAD at reading people. Veryyy bad.

Mika took the juice from behind Lucy and poured some for herself. "Thank you, I'd love to!" Oh, she already said that...
Lucy clapped her hands happily as Mika said she would come. "Yay! I'm so excited!" She said as she took out another chocolate frog and offered it to her. "So, do you hane any other plans for the summer?"

"You invited Raiden and not me?" was all Neptune heard. She couldn't agree MORE though. Not only did Kellen SAY the wrong things, he DID the wrong things too. "You were just being MEAN." With that, she got up and moved to the other side of Sabel, using him as a shield from Kellen's STUPID.

"I didn't know you play football." Carter said. What was with him just now finding out? Josh should have said something before. He was pretty sure he had his ball sitting right by his bed. They'd have to play together sometime. "I play too." he said. In fact, that was all he did since the time he could walk until the time he got into Hogwarts. And that was his plan of what to do with his life... until he got here.
"Really? What happened?" he asked. Now that he thought about it he hadn't seen the two together very often. And he had that in pretty good authority seeing as how often he was with those girls recently. He too looked over at the Slytherin table. Destiny, Marie, and Evelyn were sitting right next to each other. And both Marie and Evelyn were smiling... about something... and looking straight this way. He wondered what they were thinking about. Maybe Destiny told them about their little food fight.

"I didn't invite you because it's a camping trip for boys," Kellen informed her bluntly. "Don't you ever get tired of your brothers and want to do something with just girls?"
He rolled his eyes at her behaviour. Honestly, she was acting worse than his sisters, and they were half her age. Looking for something to distract himself, he reached for a pitcher of pumpkin juice and a few cups. After pouring himself a glass, he raised the pitcher at Sabel, "Drink?"
