Jack was about to stand up and order that everyone stop shouting--a good excuse to order people around before he had to give his badge in!--but he didn't. He frowned and reached across the table to pat Alexa's hand. "It's ok...you're right," he said. At the next second however, she stood up and ran off after Sabel shouted, and he turned to the Gryffindor boy and shrugged.
"I know its hard to watch her like that but...I guess we can't really do much but let her just handle stuff herself," he said with a sigh. After all, within the past like...five minutes she had up and run from the table TWICE. Yes, she was veryyyyy distraught, that was obvious, but nothing they could say would do anything more than to cause her to run away a THIRD time, he was certain. He felt sorry for Sabel though, who was just trying to help and just kept getting screamed at.
Sigh. Women.

Behold the insensitive and blunt advice of Kellen Stern.
Despite everything, despite how frustrated and agonized he felt, Sabel couldn't help but smile a little at Jack and Kellen's words. In a way, in that instant, he figured he knew how Alexa felt in just wanting to curl up somewhere and burry himself in agony, but then he knew it would hurt his friends like he had just been hurt.
Wiping a hand down his face to try and gain some composure, he tried to force all the pain deep down inside and the tears away, looking between the two boys with a small smile. The world was still wet and watery, and he was postive the tears were still visible as they clung to his eyes, but he could force the smile, a smile of thanks. He wasn't about to drag Kellen into this, it was supposed to be the end of the feast...dancing and eating or whatnot.
"Thanks Jack..." Forcing a small smile he looked at Jack and then turned to Kellen, giving him a light kick on the shin from under the table. "Where in all the worlds have you been, Stern?"
He'd...explode later. Privately.

Dylan turned to a guy trying to butt in, "Dude SHUT IT! You don't know what you are talking about. Leave Alexa alone. She has been through enough. She doesn't need everyone to feel sorry for her. She needs to be left alone. Back off of her."

Jack frowned and turned at Dylan, who had just shouted at the new Ravenclaw arrival. Jack knew that Dylan was going through a hard time--he too had been in that fight and had to deal with the pain of accepting what had happened while he had been under the charm. But still, there was no need to shout at someone to shut it when they hadn't even been talking to him.
"Oi, calm down Dylan and let me handle the disciplining," he told him. "I understand you're upset but the last I checked, he wasn't telling Sabel to run after her and continue trying to comfort her," he said. "He was simply voicing his opinion and since he's not breaking any rules, he doesn't deserve to be snapped at like that."
This was driving Jack MAD! He needed to enjoy his last feast, and he was certain he wouldn't find any enjoyment here. At least, not at the moment. "I'm going to find Reese," he announced before standing up and headed towards the Slytherin table.

Kellen watched the Head Boy go, then turned and looked at the boy. Just looked at him. And then, very quietly, said, "I have. A great. Idea. How about you," he pointed at him, "stop assuming that everyone is trying to comfort her," his finger switched to where the girl had run off, "and slither back to your own table. Because believe it or not, Sabel has feelings too, and some of us sitting here are more concerned about those feelings than the dramatics coming from you and your girlfriend. As I see it, you don't have a reason to keep being at this table."

He gave him a very pointed look, "So leave."
"I am not assuming. It is apparent," Dylan said, his arms folded. "My girlfriend? You think Alexa is my girlfriend? Sabel might have feelings, but so does my ex-girlfriend. She broke up with me, because of this sodding event. Because she couldn't handle being reminded. You think that makes me feel any better?" He ran a hand through his hair, "Your feelings may matter, but you aren't the one that hasn't slept for ages, because every time you close your eyes you can see the crumpled bodies of the students you have stunned."
"I have every right to be at this table as you do. Why don't you go back to your own table."

Sabel had no idea if he wanted to rip his hair out, scream at them, or just drop his head hard on the table. His eyes went to Kellen first, a small appreciative smile on his lips to let the boy know his actions didn't go unnoticed. "Thank you Kellen." He took a deep, unsteady breath. There was one point of clarrification he felt he should make. "Her Aunt just passed...and she, as well as Dylan and others are recovering from an Imperius curse."
Then he turned to Dylan; there were a few other points that needed clarification. It was a blatant effort to keep his voice from breaking in rage or pure frustration. "I am sorry about your breakup Dylan. I am. But that does not give you the right to speak to my friend in this manner, or to take that hurt out on others."
He moved slowly to stand infront of the older boy. "And you are assuming. Do not think that those under the curse are the only ones that suffered, are the only ones that can't sleep. You are in pain, we understand that, but you have no idea what it is to be on the outside looking in. You felt useless, but you have no idea how it feels to watch all your friends turn on one another with a madness in their eyes that you cannot convince them was not their own. You have no idea what we went through and what we see when we close our eyes."
His own eyes darkened a little. "At least Dylan, when you close your eyes you see the faces of those that were desperately trying to help you. We, see the maddened eyes of Remi every night, in your eyes, and we curse ourselves for not being able to help you. So don't go preaching that your pain is worse than ours."

Dylan took a deep breath. He wasn't angry. He was frustrated. Why could noone see that they wanted to be left alone. "I'm not taking my break up out on anyone. If I was, I would be punching someone right now. So I would watch out, because you might be that someone," he said, an odd looking fire in his eyes.
"Yes because being helpless is far worse than being the one that is attacking people, and not being able to stop." He shook his head, "Help me? None of them were trying to help me. I was being cursed and stunned from every direction, that doesn't help. That worsens."
He rolled his eyes, "Get lost Kellen. Go back to the Ravenclaw table with your other smart alecs."
Sorry that took so long XD Sabel was being difficult XD

"Leave him out of it Dylan. He can stay if he wishes." He met Dylan's eyes levely. "And I never said it was worse. I never said your pain was any less than ours or of smaller importance. If it was, we would not be trying to help. And while you were being stunned and cursed from all directions, so were we; I watched a friend get sliced open in front of my eyes while he tried to help."
Taking a step back, Sabel spread his arms out open to either side. "The only difference between us, and you, was that you had no choice in who you hit. You are free of that responsibility because it wasn't you, it was Remi. Us, on the other hand, had to make that choice of free will, and that is pain, I am sure you have felt in the duels you were forced into. I'm not saying one was greater than the other, simply that pain is there."
"However, if you believe I am wrong, if you absolutely believe it was your fault, hit me." Keeping one arm extended, he slowly moved his other and tapped the ribs that had once been broken. "Right here. Revisit the pain you distributed, if you trully believe that."

On the one hand, he could see what Sabel was doing. On the other, he could see very clearly why the idiot boy was in Gryffindor. He glanced around the table, wondering if everyone here stuck their ribs out at people and asked for punches. Probably.

Of course it was inevitable that Josh would get bored as he sat at his house table when there's no one to try to mess talk with. So, at first place, he looked back at the Slytherin table. His eyes were not late to spot the three girls he knew at there; Evelyn, Destiny and Marie who seemed to be in an interesting conversation. Well...girly stuff with high possiblity.
Then he looked around the table of his house only to see a Ravenclaw boy glancing around. ''Hey!'' Josh yelled and threw him a piece of paper which was a trash that had been resting in his pocket the whole term. ''How's it going Ravie Smartie?''

Was it time for the end-of-term feast already? Carter walked in and looked for a seat. He sat next to Josh. "Hey." he said to him. He seemed to be looking at something. He turned his head. He was looking at the Slytherin table. Figures. And then he was talking to a Ravenclaw boy. He then turned his attention to the front. He was ready for food.

Neptune had been to her own table, but found the company unsatisfactory. Who she REALLY wanted to sit with was Ravenclaw, but displaced at the Gryffindor table. So, she went to the red-clad table to sit with Kellen Stern and his most unfortunate clutzy friend, Sabel.
Oblivious to the drama, she sighed loudly, tiredly, and laid her head over onto Kellen's shoulder. "I don't know why we must sit over here. Red is such an angry color, really." And Sabel would probably spill juice on them. Sigh.

Kellen felt the wadded up paper bounce off his arm and looked over at the thrower. Glad for a distraction, he grinned, "It's going so well. School is over, the weather is fine, and my only care in the world is that my friend looks miserable. Have we met?"

With a blink he glanced down at the head on his shoulder, "Hello, Neptune. I came over here with a proposition for Sabel, but got sidetracked by some unfortunate drama." Red... well, yes. Yes it was. But seeing as how that was kind of like calling spots gaudy when surrounded by leopards and jaguars, it was probably best not to agree.
Neptune scooted in closer to Kellen, simply because she could and she really had zero desire to socialize with anyone other than him. Gryffindors were kind of like dark chocolate - they were good, but in small amounts. "A proposition? I'm sure he'll sit with us on the train. You needn't worry," Neptune wagered a guess. "If not, then well, just you and me probably."

Alexa came back into the Great Hall still looking ragged, but free of tears. SHe cuaght some of the nonsense coming from Sabel and the idiot Ravenclaw as she neared the Gryffie table.
She cleared her throat and said, "Unfortunate drama, eh. Yeah you are right about that. Unfortunate that half the student body was Imperiused and that we are still upset about that, unfortunate that my Aunt passed on and it just so happens that someone cares enough about me to tell you to shove off. And as for you Sabel, you can shove off too. None of you know what it is like for us, none of you." She kept her voice as icy as her glare and gripped her wand tightly in her hand. If a single on of them shouted at her she would lose her cool... very easily.
As she turned to leave she let her face go cold and said, "Dylan has been more a friend to me lately than you have Sabel... "
She then eyed Sabel, the stupid Bott girl, the idiot Ravvie and Josh whatever his name was that got on her nerves anyway. Sliding her arm through Dylan's she said, "Come on, let's go sit at your house table. I have nothing more to do with these insensitive goons."

Carter laughed. He held his robes up to his nose and sniffed. Yes, there was a smell to that. Was that was championship smelled like? He couldn't help but laugh again. "Yeah. It was brilliant. Are you going to be able to play on the team next term? We missed you this term?" And plus him playing was good for them. He played the Championship game and they won. That had to mean something, right?

Dylan was about to start a huge rant, when someone put there arm in his. He turned to see it was Alexa. She had returned. And at the perfect time. "Hey Alexa." He nodded, "I would like that. Better than being on this table." He sighed, and escorted her away.

The Gryffindors... were smelling themselves. What was the point of smelling themselves? In his experience, champions smelled like congealed sweat and all manner of unpleasant, and then they bathed and didn't smell like champions any more. Hmm.
"Well, I'm Kellen." He glanced down at the paper ball. To throw or not to throw? That was the question.

They could snuggle.
GIGGLE.
Kellen's arm moved behind him as Neptune moved closer, and a niggling thought at the back of his head told him to put it around her shoulder or waist. He ignored it. Instead, he smiled, "I'm sure he will too, but it wasn't about that. I was planning on spending the summer in Canada."
He didn't really want to say much more than that. Not until he had Sabel's attention. Shoo, Slytherin.

Kellen looked up at the girl. Was he intimidated by her? Not in the least. In fact, he put a neutrally pleasant look on his face and said, "I'm sorry, but I wasn't talking to you and I don't think it's my place to go into detail about how someone else is suffering. As you said, I have no idea what it's like for you, but please understand that if you go walking into conversations you might hear things that don't sit well with you."
He turned his head slightly, noting her grip on her wand, "Again, I'm sorry for your loss, but considering how insensitive you and Dylan have been to Sabel here, I wish you well at the Slytherin table."

Before she could get out of ear shot of the stupid she turned on her heel and jerked her arm out of Dylan's and said to him, "You have no idea what conversation Sabel and I happened to be having before you sat your happy behind down over here, now do you? You need to take your own advice and trust me your pity is not wanted. Sabel happens to be one of my best friends and why you butted yourself into our conversation in the first place is beyond me so I suggest you SHOVE OFF! Or at least Sabel used to be my best friend... "

Errrrm. "How rude!" Neptune exclaimed to Kellen. "She's an angry little thing. She'll wrinkle early making faces like that, you know." Just saying. That girl couldn't leave fast enough...
This was why Neptune was bleh at sitting over here in the Angry Red Section.

Oh SWOON. Neptune snuggled into Kellen's side proudly. HE was SO TOUGH and not taking any poo from ANYONE. She clapped for him and snuggled and clapped some more. He had SO TOLD HER.
"Why Canada? I should think you'd come visit me at the Bott Compound." Yes. Indeed. Neptune DID think as much. She watched with WIDE EYES as the Angry!Gryffindor kept yelling. Merlin she would need SO much wrinkle cream....

That had to mean something, right?
Josh laughed, again, along with Carter as his house mate smelled his robes. ''Yeah, it is like that mate.'' Dun dun dun. Ahhh if only he had chocolate in his pockets but this time there were papers instead of those brown tasty stuff. Stop chocolate thinking! Carter was asking somethibg important. "Well, I'm Kellen." He glanced down at the paper ball. To throw or not to throw? That was the question.

Oooohohhoo back to the Ravie Smartie who was looking at the two Gryffindor friends as if they had been aliens. Hehehe. Josh glanced at him again when he caught his look and grinned as he introduced himself. Ah yes that Ravie was not a arrogant and grumpy one. Cool. ''And me Joshua'' he replied back ''Nice to smell you Kellen''

Letting his eyes slide closed, Sabel stood there for a long moment after Alexa was gone. It was an effort not to run after her, or object to the words that stung beyond deep into his core, but she wanted to be left alone, so he would leave her alone. Best friend indeed. He hadn't seen or heard from her since that night and now...this.
Turning slowly, he let himself drop back into his seat, putting his head in his hands, speaking quietly to those around. He didn't feel like saying much; it only seemed to result in further arguments. "I'm sorry. You all didn't need to be dragged into this. I could have handled it better. Sorry."
He needed a few moments and then, he would try to rejoin the feast. At least fake the smiles and force the laughter he didn't feel like expressing. In all truth and honesty, he felt like a discarded rag, but then, maybe he really didn't understand them. As far as he was concerned, they had never stopped being friends.

Carter laughed. Now he knew what being a winner smelled like. He wasn't sure whether or not he should be proud of that fact though. "It would be great to have you back." he said. Maybe not enough to cause him to be killed by his mum though. "So how's Evelyn?" he asked. Yes, he did notice him staring that way earlier.
