Alex paused for a moment in her defending to think about Chris's words. Perhaps she did have bad luck? After all, she was in Gryffindor when all of her other siblings were in Slytherin, Her parents had left, she was half veela, and she certainly had bad luck with guys.. Huh. "Perhaps I do just have bad luck." she mused softly. She giggled at his sudden burst of laughter, "Well,I will just have to take my chances with you then." She said with a nod.

Alex nodded as Chris spoke, she snuggled into him a bit more as he arm went around her, and she wondered what they would become. Would they just stay friends? Or would they become more? Even if they did, She would have two long years without him, that seemed like a lifetime. "I don't think that there is a way for me to forget everything , but I will try and attempt to. At least let the pain go." She murmured softly. She had had so much of it lately, with her parents and now Damon and Torin.. She closed her eyes, tears softly dripping down her face. "Well, I think I should probably head up to bed.." She said as she got up, turning her face from him, so she could swipe at the tears.

Chris watched as she seemed to think over his words. "Well, even if you do- we're going to change your luck. Besides, you have me in your life right now... that can't be all bad," he said with a smile. Then, his smile turned to an evil grin. "Or, maybe not..." he said, inserting an evil laugh that he hoped would make Alex laugh- or at least smile.

He smiled softly as she snuggled closer to him. His thoughts on their relationship came rushing back, but he pushed them away. For now, he wanted her to be happy and that was what he would focus on. "Yes- the pain can always go," he said. "Unless it is the pain of defeat from our juggling match- you can keep that," he teased with a grin. As she turned away, his grin faded. "Well, if you do- do so with a smile, otherwise I'm not letting you out of my sight until you do," he said, slipping his arm around her waist. "One should never go to bed depressed," he said, with a knowing grin.

Kat walked into the common room with Lucy trailing right behind her. She found an empty couch and plopped down on it. This headache she had was killing her. "So Lucy what crazy stuff was I saying back there" she asked while holding her head. Poor Kat.

Lucy followed Kat into the common room and found an empty couch. She sat down and dragged Kat down as well. "Uhhh, well, you said you had a teddy bear named Senor Fuzz Fuzz and you were afraid that Tyler was going to kill him. And you also mentioned that Tyler had a teddy bear," Lucy said with a giggle. She looked at Kat holding her head and took out her wand. "Accio pillow!" Lucy said and a few seconds later, her pretty pink pillow had zoomed itself into the common room. Lucy caught it and handed it to Kat. "Here, lie down for a bit," She said with a smile.

Kat took the pillow and lyed down. "Senor Fuzz Fuzz? Wow I don't remember ever having a bear named that. Having a bear at all" She shrugged. She then heard Lucy say something about Tyler. "What!?!?" she yelled and sat up quickly. "Oh no he's going to kill me!!! " Kat layed back down and took a breath. "I did not just tell you about Mr. Snuggle bear" she whined. Oh no she was in for it. She would just have to avoid Tyler for the time being.

"Well, well, well," Rafe said has he walked quietly in the common room. "If it's not Kat and Lucy together again!" Rafe leaned against the doorway. It was refreshing to see his two friends again. Rafe didn't know what they were previously talking about and seemed to walk in the middle of a conversation, he hoped he wasn't interrupting.

Lucy giggled as she heard Kat talk. And then she named Ty's bear--ooooh! "Yep, he'll probably kill you," She said with a laugh. As she talked to Kat, though, she heard a very familiar voice. She turned a bit and saw someone who she hadn't seen since last term.

"RAFE!!!" Lucy screamed and ran to him, crushing him in a hug. As she let go, she couldn't stop grinning. She had missed him, that was for sure. "Rafe, how have you been? How was your summer? I've missed you!" She said as she hugged him again and then led him to the couch where her and Kat were sitting. She felt really happy to be with Kat and Rafe--just like old times.

"Oh," Rafe said slightly startled as she gave him a tight (and rather painful) hug. He tried to cover his discomfort with a smile. He was still recovering from his and Kat's little journey. He was happy to see that Kat made it back okay. Rafe sat on the couch. "I've missed you too Luce," Rafe said in his much deeper tone, "I almost didn't recognize you with your red hair, though I favor blondes." Rafe let out a low laugh. "Things went fine this summer," Rafe answered. Though knowing Lucy, this answer without details wouldn't suffice.

"Ohhhh!!! You can't let him find me!!!" She cried to Lucy. Tyler would so kill her if he found out Kat was sane now. "You can't tell him i'm sane!" She then heard a familiar voice. A voice she hasnt heard since the summer. "RAFE!!!!" She yelled and gave him one of Kats famous hugs. "Glad you made it back okay" She whispered knowing Lucy wouldnt hear her.

Rafe was very glad to see Kat, and whispered, "Me too." With all these hugs he was going to be sore for a month. Though he got an ointment from the nurse, his cuts from Romania were still really painful, but luckily his shirt covered them. It was unfortunate that his face was all scarred up now, he tried to head them himself, but he was permanently scarred. Luckily they weren't really seen in the regular light, it was the moonlight that made them really show.

"So, what were you two talking about?" Rafe asked trying to cover up his discomfort.

Kat noticed his face "Sorry" She said to Rafe. She then took a look at his face and noticed the scars. She didnt say anything about it now but later they were going to have a talk. "Oh nothing really just my uncle Tyler" Kat smiled at him. "I sorta fell on my head and started rambling on about his 'personal matter'" She laughed. "He's going to kill me if he finds out i'm all good now" Kat grinned.

"Well if he's family I'm sure he'll be very forgiving," Rafe suggested. "Family has a way of doing that. It comes naturally." Rafe gave a little wink. Rafe should have sought out Kat sooner, they'd spent so much time together, yet there was a lot to catch up on. "And if he's not so forgiving, you always have me. I've learned a few spells here and there I need to test out."

"Well I'm sure he'll be very forgiving once he's told a few jokes about my hair" Kat sighed. Did she really have big hair? She started patting it down but saw no progress. She put her hood on once again and pull the strings so only her mouth was showing. A few jokes? Kat knew deep inside that it wouldn't be a few jokes. It would be an eternity of them. "Thanks" She smiled at Rafe.

She could tell there was something wrong when he winced at her hug--though it HAD been pretty tight. "Oh, yeah, I forgot you haven't seen me with my red hair! I'm still getting used to it," She said as she touched it. He still preferred blondes--of course. "You told me you preferred brunettes!" She said said with a laugh. She eyed him as he spoke about the summer--suspicious. "Really. What'd you do?" She asked him.

"I won't let him find you," Lucy said with a laugh and rolled her eyes at Kat.

"Thanks" Kat said to Lucy. Oh no! She asked him abot his summer. She quickly thought of something to change the subject. "So Lucy what are you getting me for my birthday?" She asked her while grinning. "It's next month so you have one month to find the perfect present" She grinned once again.

"I think your hair looks fine," Rafe laughed as he untied the strings and pushed the hood away. "Don't let anyone tell you differently." Rafe was so incredibly grateful for Kat. She helped him in so many ways. "Or you could be the bigger person...and curse him!" Rafe laughed.

"Well, I guess I'm getting older and just have a fondness for blondes these days," Rafe said, knowing that Lucy despised Marilyn. And as Rafe guessed, Lucy wanted to know more about his summer. "I did a little travelling nothing special," Rafe shrugged. "What about your summer?"

Kat laughed "I would but like you said he is family" She said. She then grinned very big. She had a plan. A plan to get inside Tyler's head. "Oh before i forget" She took the locket out of her pocket and placed it in his hand before Lucy could see. She leaned closer to him and said. " I couldn't find her sorry"

Rafe took the locket and discretely put it around his teck and tucked it under his shirt. "I guess it doesn't matter now, I didn't think I would return and knew how important it was to her, I didn't want it to be lost forever," Rafe whispered closely to Kat's ear, so Lucy couldn't hear. "But, thank you nonetheless." This caused Rafe to worry. He hadn't seen Marilyn either, he was wondering if her absence had anything to do with what she told him before they parted ways.

Chuckling, Sabel shook his head. "I've never run into anyone who has, or would say that, but each to his own I suppose."

Scratching Merlin behind the ears, he stiffled a yawn. "I'm sorry Josh, but I should probably head off to hit the pillows." Plucking the cat up he rose to his feet and gave the other boy a small smile. "Take it easy okay? Take a break from all those dungeon adventures and what not."

Giving a small smile to the girl that had joined, Sabel polietly took his leave and headed upstairs to get some rest.

Lucy rolled her eyes when he said he had a fondness for blondes these days--yes, of course. It was her--the girl she disliked. "Yeah, okay," She said with a half grin. Back to the summer, then. "A little traveling, eh?" She said as she narrowed her eyes yet again, but then disregarded any suspicion. Traveling was normal during the summer. "That's cool. Where'd you go? I didn't do much--just enjoyed my time at home and with my parents," She said, examining a nail. She distantly hear Kat and Rafe whispering--okay, what was going on here???

Kat smiled. "No problem" She patted his shoulder. Kat loved Rafe. He was like the big brother that she wished she had. Back to Lucy. "So Lucy I was thinking that we should totally introduce Tyler to Rafe" She grinned.

Lucy considered Kat's plan. Old crush meeting new boyfriend?? Didn't seem like a good idea. But all that stuff with Rafe was all in the past now, riiight? Right. Lucy smiled and nodded her head. "Yeah, that's a great idea!!" She said enthusiastically. She turned to Rafe and grinned. "You have to meet Ty, he's Kat's uncle from America!" This was a good idea, right?

Evie walked into the common room still practising to duplicate her quill. "geminio" she said but not too loud so people would hear her. She saw that it didn't work and she didn't want to embarrass herself in the common room, she looked around hoping nobody noticed and walked over the the lounge chair in front of the fire.

"Uhhhh..." Kat started. She had totally forgot that she was hiding from Tyler. "Maybe you should introduce them.. Since Ty is out to get me" She said. "Oh maybe i'll just stick by your side while he's there" She grinned. There was no knowing what Tyler would do. He would probably make her hair bigger. If that was possible.

Rafe was about to answer and lie about his travels over the summer, but thankfully Kat interrupted. She was always one to save him.

"Umm...sure why not? This guy sounds like he's replacing me or something, I guess we're no longer the trio," Rafe laughed. He wasn't surprised he was rather distance these days. It was hard getting in the groove of things since the summer.

"Aww come on Kat," Rafe said as he put his arm around her. "It'll be fun and if he says one word about your hair, I know a spell or two that'll put him in his place." Rafe laughed. He'd never hurt the guy, especially since it was Kat's uncle, but a little harmless hexing never hurt anyone (permanently).
