Sabel's head swivelled at the sound of another student entering the common room. Then he blinked. His feet came down from where they rested on the opposite arm of the couch to land on the floor as he sat up.

As if sensing his intention, Merlin hopped off his lap and bounded over to the rather distressed looking boy, jumping up onto his lap without waiting for an invite and nudging Josh's chin with his head.

Frowning at the boy's state, Sabel pushed himself up, grabbing a glass of water on the way over and stopped beside Josh. "Hey man...you look pretty...horrible." Best word he could think of.

"What happened?" He asked with concern as he offered the boy the glass of water.

"Aww thank you for saying so," the professor gushed, placing her hand over her heart. Oh bless him!

"You know... if the homesickness ever gets to be too much, and you need someone to talk to, I hope you'll come by for a visit. I'm always available to my students." 'Especially ones as sweet and obviously well-manner as this one', she thought with a smile.
Smiling back, the professor had to wonder what was up with all her sleepy Gryffindors. Seriously, folks! Weren't they getting enough rest? "Would you like a muffin?" she asked in her usual, cheerful disposition.
Professor Lawson sniffed the air as a pungent odor invaded her senses. She turned quickly, seeing Josh walk past her. "Oh hopping Hippogriffs, what IS that smell?!" she demanded, looking right at the source. "Mr. Carter, you smell of the stables." She walked closer and spotted his disheveled state. "What's happened to you?"
Iliana giggled and reached into the basket. "Of course you can have one," she said, grabbing a yummy chocolate one that was sitting on top. She handed it over with a smile and said, "I knew chocolate would be a popular choice. Good thing I made lots."

She rested the basket on her hip and then said, "Now... why don't you tell me why you look so tired? Is there something wrong with your bed? Is your mattress too lumpy? Maybe one of your roommates snores?" She whispered the last bit and gave Mat a playful wink.

" Thank you for the muffins, mam" Rex Trigwell told her. " My name is Rex Trigwell, fourth year transfer student from SweetWater, Texas, mam" Rex saidd to her. " I am sorry mam but we have not been introuduced" Rex expalained to her.

"Sorry about what happened in class" Rex told Josh. " Loud Josh", you have to be careful who you are kicking the stupid soccer ball to at all times" Rex expaliend to him. " I like real football- American football where you can really get bck at someone" Rex said to Josh." Jake is not nice. but you know he will end up with bad karma" Rex told Josh.

'Mean, mean, meanie' That was what Professor Lawson was, he liked Muggle Studies, he loved football, it was one of his favourites but Lawsonator ruined it. Huh? He looked down when he felt something jump on his lap. Ah, that was only a cat. Geez. This was the cat king, was not he? He smiled a little when the cat nudged him and the boy stroked the friendly king cat a little as his owner appeared with a glass of water right after him.

He gave him an agreeing nod when he said he looked horrible ''This is the best i managed'' his voice carried a bit of sarcasm. ''Thank you'' he said smiling at the boy. He was also thirsty, he realised now so was grateful for the water. ''I have been in detention with Professor Lawson'' he explained right bottoming up all the water.

Then he glanced at the professor when she exclaimed about his smell. Just glanced though, not glared this time. He was gradually getting calmer anyway no matter how annoying Lawsonator was. However he could not help sighing deeply as Iliana Lawson asked what had happened, too. ''I have been...on detention with...Professor Lawson, sir'' he repeated the answer for the lady.

Oh! And it was The Clumsy Rex ''Well i used to play in the school team when i was going to a Muggle School before i attended here'' he explained or half protested ''Soccer/Football is though too and i kicked many boys there but none of them ended like this. Obviously Jake is not even as tough as a first year girl''

Chelsea thought about then that dign went off. "Got it!"she said continuing,"breaded chicken with a ncie arugala salad on the side, what about you?"

"Well, you did what you were supposed to do but I disagree that you should have got in trouble for an accident" Rex told Josh. " If the boy could not play soccer, what was he doing in that class?" Rex asked Josh about Jake. " Loud Josh, told you I would stick by you when you are in the right" Clumsy Rex explained to him.

"Wow, that is a mouthful,mam " Rex told Chelsea. " Being from Texas, mam, my favorite food is a t-bone steak, baked potato, chili beans" Rex said to Chelsea. Then Rex waltzed with Chelsea.

Sabel gave the Professor a smile and took one of the muffins at random as he made his way over to Josh; he wasn't picky. "Thank you very much Professor Lawson. This is very kind of you." He gave her a small bow before continuing on.

Sabel frowned a little in concern; it didn't take the water long to disappear. It seemed like the boy hadn't had anything to drink for a while. "Detention? With Professor Lawson?"

He glanced at the professor handing out muffins as he went over and grabbed the pitcher of water. He doubted it was this Lawson. Returning he put the water on the table beside the boy and watched as Merlin rubbed against Josh's hands, purring loudly. "It looks more like he dragged you through the mire." Not that there was a mire near Hogwarts.

"Well you're quite welcome, Rex," she said. "I'm Professor Lawson, Care of Magical Creatures teacher and Gryffindor Head of House. Welcome," she said, handing him a muffin.
'Marcus seemed to have done a heck of a job on this one,' Ili thought, tickled by the idea of it. She raised one eyebrow and placed her free hand over her mouth to cover her smirk. Of course, to those in the room, it just looked as if she was shocked or concerned. "Detention, Josh?! Already? But the term's just started. What did you do?" she asked, a mixture of surprise and annoyance in her tone.
"You're so welcome, dear," she said, returning his smile with a mock curtsy.

Mat didn't wait twice to grab the oh so delicious looking muffin. "Thankshyou!!" Taking his time to smell it first he could feel his stomach growling louder and louder. "Ya it's a good thing too." Coming a bit closer toward her, he whisper to her. "But if none get eaten don't worry, I won't let them go to waste." Winking at her he pat his tummy. He was already there volunteering if chocolate was the ultimate price.

A bit taking by surprise with her question he didn't knew if he should tell her that he hadn't been in his dorm at all. "Hmm... wrong with my bed..." Looking down as he had been caught doing something wrong, he hesitated a bit. "Well the bed is good and most of the roommates don't snores... well not too loud." Giggling as he said, he glanced up at her. "Well some of them too but it's not that loud." Deciding that avoiding answering was probably not the smartest idea he gave in. "Well... I... I didn't go to bed last night." Whispering the last part, he didn't want anyone else to hear that. He look twice of each side and came closer toward Professor Lawson. "It's the astronomy homework... I'm trying to finish it but I can't. but... but... I"ll finish it... I will do it even if I have to stay awake again this night." Firmly nodding, he was hoping he wouldn't have to do that but then again... who knows.

" Nice to meet you Professor Lawson, mam" Rex told her. "I think that Magical Creatures sounds like a great class to teach, mam" Rex said to Professor Lawson." This muffin is good, mam" Rex gave a polite nod to the professor.

''Nah! I don't know'' Josh replied when Rex asked what was Jake doing in the class if he did not know how to play soccer ''He is just like everywhere, is not he?'' It was not much of an accident, though, what he had done. ''He is a pain in the...whatever'' he said ''The soccer ball served him right. He totally messed with me last year in a class right before the eyes of Evelyn'' and yes the boy was right ''Yeah, man. Thanks''

''Not her'' Josh said quickly when he spotted Sable glance back at Professor Morgan, yes, he was going to call her Professor Morgan from now on. Because Lawson was...ugh! ''Her husband. The guy in Muggle Studies'' And it was Muggle Studies *sigh*. The second year chuckled sarcastically when his house mate commented on the detention. ''It was not much different than being dragged into a mire''*snort* actually it might be regarded worse ''He took my wand and make a bunch of Pixies, Imps and Doxy's attack at me''

Sign, deep breath, another sigh. He eyed Professor Morgan, yes, Morgan as she covered her mouth. She was right, anyway. The term had hardly started and Joshua Carter claimed his place as the master of trouble by ending up with detention at the very beginning. ''I...'' he began. How was he going to explain this without being misunderstood ''I... we were playing soccer in Muggle Studies and i kicked a ball at Jake. Well...and he could not take the ball. But how could i know he did not how to play? How could i know he was not tough enough to play?''

Sabel blinked at Josh and then at the Professor. So she was...he was...Oooohh. Well that made a little bit more sense. So much for his observation skills.

Sighing he dropped onto the floor and crossed his legs, frowning a little at the description of the detention. "That sounds a little bit...extreme." Weren't detentions supposed to be things like cleaning bedpans and sweeping out hallways? If that was Lawson's definition of a detention, he wondered what Vindictus' was. He wasn't sure he wanted to know. To him, Lawson had appeared the more laid back of the two. He shook his head, dismissing the thoughts for a new one. A small smile pressed onto his lips as he glanced back at the Gryffin.

"Ah another trouble maker." He teased, giving Josh's knee a gentle push with his fist. "Don't worry about it. I got in trouble with the Headmaster on the day of the feast."

He wasn't exactly proud of it, but he understood that the boy might be feeling a little put out by getting a detention so early on. "It sounded like an accident anyways." The soccer ball that was, not the detention. That just sounded...extreme. "I wouldn't let it bother you." Again, the soccer ball, not the detention.

Iliana laughed quietly and took a seat by the fire. She wouldn't intrude on her Gryffies' space but, if she was going to be here for awhile, might as well get comfortable. She sat the muffins on the cushion beside her and said, "I'll keep that in mind."

She listened intently as he explained, smiling in all the right places. "Oh Mat," she said with a frown. "Honey, do you need some help? I can post a notice on the bulletin board for you. Something along the lines of "Gryffindor boy in need of a study partner! Who will rise to the challenge and help us earn points?" How does that sound?"

Oh how she wished that she could help him. She was great at Astronomy in her day.
"I'm glad you think so. I'll be expecting you right up front for my first lesson," she said with a smirk.
Overhearing the boys' conversation, Ili shot them a cold glare and cleared her throat. "BOYS!! We do NOT speak of fellow students like that! No matter how much you dislike them. I'll expect you to remember yourself in the future." Especially in front of her. She couldn't believe it. She was standing RIGHT there.
She listened to his story in silence, trying to keep her composure. "Did you hurt him?" she asked quietly, fairly certain of what his answer would be. After all, why else would he have gotten detention? Oh her poor Jake.

Nibbing bits and bits of muffin Mat felt his body re-energize. This was good stuff, almost as good as those made... His thought was bringing him toward a place he didn't want to go and he shook his head to make this go away. Putting half of the muffin in his mouth and bounce back toward where his school's thing were. "They are very nummy!" With that said he put the other half in his mouth. Very nummy indeed.

A grinned appear on his face as he heard she was willing to put a notice board for him. "That would be like SO cool but I'm not very smart with the astronomy thingy. I know that it's about thingy in the sky and further away but that's pretty much it. Your subject is WAY funnier." Without even thinking about it Mat looked at Professor Lawson. She was reminding him of someone, someone he missed. An other face was starting to appear on his mind, he had to put a stop to it, like now! Coughing a little bit, he decided to ask something to help change his mind. "Professor ? Do you mind me asking you a question?"

Josh stroked the cat again he looking at Sable with a blank expression as he settled down on the floor. At least here in his house, Gryffindors seemed to understand him, phew, he was not going to known as 'Teh Evil Gryffindor' as Jake called him. And those Ravenclaw thought he was a jerk. Stupid Ravenclaws. Yes, that was right Ravenclaws were stupid. Josh bet he was smarter than the smartest Ravenclaw. ''I think Lawson hates me'' he said. ''I don't know why he overreacted like that. Last year he seemed to be okay. Plus there were many people hitting and hurting each other in the class. Why am i the only one who got detention? Moreover he implied that he was going to watch my every move and hunt any opportunity to get on me again. Yep...'' he nodded ''He definitely hates me. Thanks though. I'm grateful for your support''.

A little smile appeared on his face too when Sable smiled and Josh could not help laughing at his next words he remarked right after pushing him with a fist. ''Ha ha. Yeah. No wonder, i am. But it looks like you already did beat me. How did you manage that?'' he completed the sentence with a meaningful mischievous look.

Upps!!! ''Sorry Professor!'' he added quickly. Josh never thought he could hear his words. Gasp.. ''Sorry'' maybe its effect would be intense if he repeated it. He did not want another detention anyway especially when she officially had the name Lawson. ''I'm sorry. Is it all right?'' Please not another detention!!

The Gryffindor boy gulped a little when she asked if he hurt Jake. Well..he hurt him before so he asked for it. It was who should be labeled as the meanie not him...But there was no way he could lie about what happened and of course he was not going to lie. There was no need to. He already suffered an unfair detention for that. ''Yes.'' he uttered slowly ''They said his nose...was broken''*puppy eyes look* ''But i did not mean it! Really, i did not!''

Sabel chuckled a little and leaned back on his elbows, giving a one-shouldered shrug. "Honestly, if you manage to upset a Professor, no matter the circumstances, they will keep an eye out for you. It's just the way things work. One person causes trouble in class and they often, not always but often, view that person on as the class troublemaker." He shrugged again. "And maybe something was bothering him...." He paused and then shook his head, deciding that perhaps it was best not to get into such a discussion with the Professor's wife so close by.

Shaking his head he smiled again, picking at the carpet a little. "I...helped carry ...Brant up to the Staff table after he passed out and ended up stating an opinion, making a wise crack, and using sarcasm that, all jumbled together, equaled lip to the Headmaster." He shrugged again, glancing at the other boy. "That's the general gist anyways."

He glanced over as the Professor spoke and then blinked at Josh's response. Well, as far as he could see the boy was pretty shaken up about it. And for good reason.

''Maybe...ah, your are right!'' he agreed checking if their head of house was looking that way. ''Now i am labeled as the criminal though there are worse wandering inside the school unnoticed like rats in the Dungeons'' 'Slow down Josh. You'll get in trouble again if she hears you'. Apparently being a little bit of a rebel Josh was unable to control his words. He was angry, though, and this was quite natural after being a target for a bunch of wild creatures. He leaned down towards Sable and continued his words, whispering this time ''I don't know if there was anything bothering him but there will be from now on. You know what i mean.''

Then he laughed when the boy explained the details of his getting in trouble with the headmaster. ''Yea, i totally understand that. They can never get a clever remark from a younger fellow, can they?'' he leaned back comfortably on the chair as some of the sticky substance in his hair dripped on the floor ''I love the expressionappearing on their faces when that happened''

Sabel blinked at the boy and nearly had to catch Merlin when he jumped off Josh's lap in fright at the sudden laughter. Casting an annoyed glance at Josh for disturbing his near-nap experience, the black kitten padded over to Sabel's stomach and proceeded to knead it in order to make it comfy.

Arching an eyebrow down at his kitten, Sabel shook his head a little. "It was merely the wrong comment at the wrong time." He absently stroked Merlin's back. "And I wouldn't suggest retaliation Josh. They have their reasons for doing things. I'm not saying he was right for enforcing that kind of detention and I'm not saying you have to agree with it but..."

But what? He himself probably would give the Professor a peice of his mind, but then again that was only if he seriously disagreed with the man.

He sighed. "But just be careful. I'm sure there are worse detentions out there." A grin split his face and he jabbed the boy's knee again lightly. "Plus you came out okay. In need of a bit of a shower, but okay."

Carter walked into the common room after the day to be greeted by the smell of ""Mmm... muffins..." he said looking around for the source of such a wonderful smell. He joined the group of guys surrounding Professor Mo... Lawson. "Hello Professor." he said eying the muffins. "Can I have one?"

Rex:
"Baked Potatoes are sick."she siad laughing at the sudden chaneg of dance to a waltz, she probably looked so stupid. But really she didn't care,she was having fun. "Tis is fun."shhe said randomly.

He watched the cat jump off his lap and made his way to his owner as the other boy spoke. 'He would not suggest retaliation'. Maybe he was since also Lawson said he was going to face way worse if he would fail at changing his attitude but on the other hand even assuming that he had full responsibility of breaking Jake's nose, the detention was still not fair. It was like torturing and he was bit by venomous Doxy's. He could have been killed because of that venom in a damp, fithy dungeon and it did hurt and burn a lot! His anger was definitely overwhelming his sense of common courtesy and he could not help it.

''I want to agree with it, Sabel, seriously'' he said sadly staring at his housemate with sadder eyes ''He already threatened me enough to understand that i will be facing way worse if i am ever caught of wrongdoing again. But, i just...can't. I want to fight. I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do, probably not, but i feel so offended and...'' now he was staring down at the floor ''...something inside me forces me to fight. It feels like i will never be a whole and happy if i dont'' He smiled when he mentioned the shower comment and shrugged at it. ''Nah. I won't take a shower till Evelyn sees me and smells me. Ha ha''

Ainsley made her way down from the girl's dorm, her astronomy books in hand ready to work on the homework for class. It wasn't her best subject but she did alright with it. Seeing the energetic group gathered in the common room, the third year almost decided to opt for a quieter location but decided not to. She spotted their head of house as she walked to an empty chair to the side and smiled in her direction. "Hello Professor," she replied politely in passing before taking a seat and setting her textbook on her lap.

Sabel's mouth twitched in a small smile at the boy's half-hearted joke, but it didn't remain for long. He understood the burning desire to stand up, to push back even if it wasn't in a physical way. He himself was drawn to a strong sense of opinion and morals that he would argue for until he was blue in the face. But he had never been in a situation where he felt he had to literally fight.

The poor guy looked like he needed a hug, or something, but he wasn't sure that he was the one to give it. "I understand Josh, I do. It's just..." he let out a heavy breath and rubbed the back of his neck. "In my opinion wrong-doing is such a loose term. The Professors here say that right and wrong is defined by a council." He shook his head a little. "But not all right is right and not all wrong is wrong."

He didn't even know if he was making sense any more. It was mostly a matter of preception, even of circumstance. He let out another heavy breath before looking up, a small, questioning frown on his face.

"Are there any sparring areas in the school? I mean places where duels are allowed?"

He wasn't entirely sure that his train of thought was a good one; he didn't encourage fighting, he didn't like it. But perhaps he could help Josh out. He sounded ready to snap.

Tori sat on the floor with her back to one of the chairs, with her legs crossed. She pulled a small book out of her pocket and began to read. It was a book of quotes her mom had gotten her a welcome home gift. She had reached to chapter with Aristotle. He was a famous muggle Philosopher.

Now this was definitely something Josh would agree without any exceptions. Wrongdoing. ''It was the term Professor Lawson used when speaking about my acts. In fact, if you happen to ask me, i would claim a different way to describe it'' Naturally. So, his acts might be wrong-doing for that council but... ''I wonder how that council defines Lawson's way of punishing'' he commented with a smirk. ''Apparently he aimed to teach me a lesson since he asked if i got it once it was over. And he did not like my answer to it saying that i did not seem to learn anything. Possibly he thinks i am an idiot''

Yeah, Josh believed the man regarded him as an idiot considering the way he kept repeating what he was supposed to do during the detention. He looked back at Sabel when he asked a question and Josh was glad that it helped him to snap out of those thoughts about detention. ''Last year there was the Duelling Club'' he replied scratching his head ''Near the DADA class when...''*cough*''...Lawson was teaching it. He was also leading that club but now it looks like it is closed. The new teacher maybe is not fond of students bothering him about it. But i'm not sure if it is closed or moved to somehwere else'' It was unlikely, though, that it was moved.
