"N'awwwww," Jake pouted a little and took the bag with his stuff in, looking forlornly at the surrendered coupon. Jeez, they were acting as though the coupons were CRIMINALS or something.
"M'kayyyyy," the boy sighed and turned away, toward Tibi, clutching the bag. Before they were out of the store, Jake reached in and pulled out the socks, before handing them to his best friend. Before the Ravenclaw could argue, Jake grinned and led the way out.
Tiberius watched, confused, as Jake handed him the socks. He stopped in his tracks and looked up at the boy who had just grinned and made he way out of the store.
Had Jake just bought him the most expensive socks like, ever?
"Jake? Hey, JAKE!" Tibi chased after him out of the store. "At least let me pay for part..."
And he was out the door.

As Ivory noticed that her friends were already checking out, she realized she'd have to step up the pace.
Shopping should never be rushed but under these circumstances and with all these people, well she'd make an exception.
Grabbing a few more things, she made her way to the front counter.
With her dress robe, gloves, earmuffs, penguin beanie, some socks perfect for pedicures, an extremely cute scarf that matched with the beanie, and a very intruiging looking cloak ready in hand, she waited patiently with a friendly smile on her face for the shopkeeper to ring up her purchase of 7 items.

And kept it with her. It was pricey, but she had loads of money. Her mother gave her at least 1000 galleons! "Now a gift for my mother." She took a green one and smiled. "She will love it! Wait..mom works at the ministry. She can still wear it."

Smiling brightly at the woman behind the counter, Ivory carefully dug into her little money pouch and took out some coins and counted them out on the counter. "26,27,and there 12 galleons, 11 sickles, and 28 knuts."
Jenny kept looking and she saw another cloak! This one was black, but dazzling. The cloak was thick and hooded. She finally---WAIT! Look! Two of the same green ones! They were great for Melody & Luna! She went to pay.

It didn't seem to bother the girl too much, though, because she simply handed over the payment then picked up the remaining coins. "Thank you, hon. You have a good day."

With one customer gone, Aurora was free to turn to the next girl in line. "Hello, there! Let's see...two colored cloaks, hmm? That'll be 6 galleons, 16 sickles, and 4 knuts, dear," she said, quickly totaling the items then beginning the bagging process.

Aurora shrugged at the girl's comment. She supposed the old saying was true---one man's silver is another man's gold. Her mouth curved into a smile as the customer gave her farewell. "You're welcome! Come again, dear!" she called, waving as the girl disappeared out the door.
Miranda took a deep breath, trying to resist the urge to massage her previously tapped-on forehead. Okay, the twitchyness thing was sort of a joke which Miranda had no clue could actually be a part of something real for this boy. She saw his eyes moving fast at the people around them, and yeah, she could totally imagine that butterbeer had ALOT of sugar - it was probably why all the kids liked it so much. But she kept her mouth closed and simply watched the boy.
And then he spoke REALLY fast, wether it was because he was more hyper now or because he didn't really want to say it, she didn't know. Her lower lip jutted out and one eyebrow arched at his speed-talking. What? He had... what? AHDHE? No...that couldn't be right... AD...HD? Oooh. Miranda's face turned into one of mellowness. "Oh, I see... So does that include candy? And chocolate?" Yikes, Oliver did not have it easy. Before this turned into a bummer of a situation, and that might be hard considering how happy Oliver seemed, Miranda tried to lighten up the air with one of her stupid jokes. But then she narrowed her eyes at him. "So... Not only do I have to keep you from breaking one of the Womping Willows arms, I also have to keep you from drinking high sugary drinks...?" After a short moment, she winked at Oliver. Ofcourse, she'd look after him...like always. Wether he wanted it or not. Hehe. Not that he needed to be taken care of, tho, he seemed more than capable to handle himself.
Her lips curled into a smile as she saw him joking about the poking. When he poked her shoulder, she turned to face him. "Erm, I could use a new pair of Chaser gloves...if they have any. But other than that, no." Aw, he could really be sweet, this boy. "Don't worry about it," OH she REALLY wanted the CHOCOLATE! "...but OKAY!" Grin.
Hmmm... maybe they had some sugar free yummy chocolate...
Oliver was having a real hard time standing still as he chatted to Miranda outside Gladrags. He swallowed and nodded his head really quickly. “It's alright in small quantities once in a while but butterbeer isn't good.” He answered rather speedily. He removed a hand from his pocket and began pulling on his ear just to give his hands something to do. He wasn't aware that he was swaying a little as Miranda narrowed her eyes on him either. He bit his bottom lip as he looked at her. “Hey.. I can look after myself.” He protested, not understanding that she was joking with him. But then he caught the wink and he smiled brightly at her. “Just keep me away from the butterbeer would you?” He asked jokingly. He looked down the street. Oh he was so tempted to just run off and burn off this jittery twitchy energy. He didn't particularly like getting like this. The energy it gave him made him hyper, yeah.. but also, sort of nervous. Nervous hyper energy. Not good.
He nodded and followed Miranda into the shop, smiling as she joked about the chocolate. He owed her big time.

Miranda rummaged through a little basket full of headwear when suddenly she jumped at his loud voice. She turned around, eyes wide with surprise and confusion. "Oliver!" Miranda's harsh whisper retorted, she even hunched over a bit, as if trying to hide behind the racks. "Stoppit!" A woman with a from passed by and Miranda straightened up again, giving her an akward smile. "Nooo, Hahah hhe e he uhhee...." she laughed akwardly aswell, "Nuh-huh, I did not say such a thing... Oliver, shuuush!"
She breathed a sigh of relief when he put them down. He's got ADHD... Right. It was that thing's problem... It wasn't that Oliver could be totally annoying anyways.
Oh noes... And then Oliver went back to search for a pair of yellow knickers? She'd like to put a pair over his head. Ha!
Er, but she was unable to make him put on the wig. Well he had to sleep some time. Snort."Green?" Miranda turned with a smile to look for a green curly wig, but she faltered when he started to talk about the strange bald patch he had. "I uh... don't think they have one." She said, dropping the yellow one in her hand. "Nope, there's nothing here, wanttogetoutofhere?" Her speech was quick and she edged towards the door. This sudden mention of the injuries they'd mysteriously gotten had made her feel insecure, even though they were in a safe place.
Or maybe not. Hogwarts was apparently the safest place in the Wizarding world, and look what happened to them.
Ooh hoo hoo! She was embarrassed! Just what Oliver was aiming for. An annoying smile of satisfaction curled up his lips. He was tempted to keep on with the little loud routine, but Miranda's face said it all really - like she wanted the earth to open up and swallow her. Making a face because she couldn't see the funny side, he sauntered over to join her as she looked at the head gear.
Oh.. dear. He'd gone and ruined the fun he they were having at the mention of that annoying patch of missing hair behind his ear. He looked at Miranda and frowned sensing that he had upset her. He grabbed the wig she dropped and quickly shoved it on his head and began to admire his reflection in the mirror by the display, mock preening the yellow curls. Urgh. “Nah.. don't think it's me.” He looked at her and winked trying to get her to at least smile. He looked like a massive fool. He swiftly removed it and looked over at the woman behind the counter, then back at the hats. “Jus' lemme get a couple of things and then we can go, kay?” He asked Miranda quietly knowing full well what she was thinking. He wanted to talk to her properly about what had happened, but here and now was not the place to do so. Back at school, perhaps?
He picked up a Slytherin scarf and hat and tried them on, striking a pose like a catalogue model like the attention starved boy that he was for Miranda. “Whatcha think?” he asked with a grin. OK.. so he was getting drawn into this house pride stuff now that he was actually on the Quidditch team and doing something for his house AND it covered his bald patch! Two birds with one stone.
Gah! Okay, there it was, that annoying litte smirk. Miranda was grateful that he hadn't gone on about the underwear, even if the people around them were still watching them strangely.
But she was feeling strange aswell, almost like she'd gotten nervous all of a sudden. She really wanted to get outside, where there was fresh air, and no walls. The wig was suddenly removed from the basket and Miranda's gaze followed it to see Oliver...putting it on. A confused look came over the Captain and she watched him not-admiring himself in the mirror. His wink made the corner of her lip turn upwards in a crooked smile.
Urgh. Miranda felt bad, she didn't mean to freak out like that...even if it wasn't much of a scene she'd caused. But ofcourse, Oliver wanted to buy something in here and she would certainly accompany him. "S-sorry, yes ofcourse." She nodded and walked over to look at a pair of bright yellow shoes. She turned back to see Oliver parading around like a catwalk model. "Oh my." Miranda said, eyebrows raised. "What's this, does Oliver actually have House Pride?" She joked and laughed softly. "That color fits you. It's...like you say it in french...perfaictely'..."Snort. Miranda didn't know french. Hehe!
Oliver could actually sense Miranda's nerves. He was usually pretty oblivious as to what was going on outside his own little world so she must really have been tense.. either that or it was because he was getting to know the girl so well they spent so much time together. She was cool. But then, he thought that at the feast until she attacked him. Heh. Even though he joked about it at the time, it really WAS funny in retrospect.
He was pleased to see a wee smile on the huffie's face and got rid of the wig to parade around showing off the Slytherin gear. He grinned at her words. “Hey, I'm on the team now. I have to at least pretend I like the side I play for.” he teased, pulling off the hat and scarf. He liked them. Green looked good on him as Miranda said. He chuckled at her French. Was that even correct? “I didn't know you could speak French, Rodent.” He smirked. Maybe she could give him a few lessons – Oliver had always wanted to learn a foreign language.
He eyed the badger thoughtfully then dumped the hat and scarf and took her hand. “Come on. Uhff...okay, calming down now. She totally was calming down now. It was as if she'd gotten a litte panic attack there, but everything was fine now. She hoped. Oliver's little trick had done it, and Miranda was slightly aware of why he had done it.

Her face softened to a smile as she waited for the boy to...respond, or whatever, but she got confused again as she watched him drop the scarf and hat and took her hand. Reflexly, she held onto his and let her be led towards the door. "B-but your things-" What happened, why didn't he want the stuff? She was about to point at the left items, and go back to collect them, but the chocolate part came up. Uh. It's like her brain froze over. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate... She shook her head as if to clear it. "Lets... Let's get the sugar." Right, because going back to school meant... It was better here, outside.
"But...your stuff?" If he didn't buy it, she'd buy it for him and...give it to him on his birthday or something.
The worm? Pffft. Oliver had only said that to make up for the comment he made about the animal on the Huffie banner looking like a rodent, and to get Miranda to smile after the food fight. The rodent thing had been a genuine mistake after all, but had stuck firmly like muggle glue ever since. He smiled nonetheless and chuckled lightly. “The mighty worm.” He puffed out his chest mock superhero-esque. “I bet they're part of a rodent's staple diet.” He gave her a look then nudged her playfully with his elbow and mirrored her expression, crinkling his nose.
He raised his eyebrows with a grin on his face. “So that wasn't real French?” He queried unsure. It had sounded pretty believable to Oliver's ignorant ears. She wanted to make up her own insane language? Mental. “People might think you're just a leetle bit craazy if you do that, Rodent.” He smirked. “Can you speak any other languages? Like.. other than Rat?” He smirked... It would be well cool if she could.
Oliver had become unusually serious, almost sombre when he spotted the worried look on Miranda's face. He glanced at the things he wanted to buy and back at Miranda. “They can wait.” He replied with a shrug. “Ill get them next time.” He would suffer the January cold in silence if it meant wiping that scared look off his friend's face. He didn't like it – it reminded him of what he tried so hard not to think about when he had some control over what went on in his head. It wasn't until he slept and his subconsious mind would take over that he thought about it. When the nightmares came. His twitchy imagination was far too overactive for it's own good sometimes.
Miranda's worried expression reminded him of what he managed to repress most of the time; acting like the idiot that he was until she looked at him in a certain way, and then he knew instantly what she was thinking. He smiled softly at her and merely nodded – the sugar it was then.. but none for him. Not when butterbeer alone made him feel like he was five years old, chasing after the the ducks in Hyde Park with his mum sprinting after him to rugby tackle him to the ground before he fell face first into a pond and drowned. “My stuff will be here tomorrow still.” He said firmly. His way of saying, 'no arguments'. He gestured with his had for her to leave the shop.
Hell, the boy could be serious when he wanted to be.

Miranda smiled crookedly at his little chest puffing. The mighty worm. Snort. That just sounded weird. A badger's diet? "Worms...snakes - same thing really." She winked and laughed as he nudged her.
Eeeh. "Uhm, no..." she made an embarrassed face. "Or, well, it was something I heard once, but then I couldn't remember if it was like that so just added something there..." Miranda shrugged and began to pluck on a robe sleeve on display. "Crazy? Nooo, it's GENIOUS!" Hehehe! "No..." Eh, she didn't know any languages other than english. Pout."I know a few words in Swedish that I picked up during the summer... How about you?" She smiled up at the boy. He probably knew some... whatever language Durmstrang was in...
It was strange, this feeling of feeling so panicked, but somehow Oliver had gotten Miranda to calm down. And she really appreciated that, even though she wasn't really ready to admit what had happened incase her now 'secure-bubble' feeling bursted.
But she did feel a bit ashamed that she hadn't been able to control herself, and now Oliver was going to get his bald patch frozen because of her! Ugh. But Miranda had to remember, she wasn't the only one who had gone through that weird situation, and she had to think of him aswell. Just as he was now thinking of her.
Her eyebrow raised a teeny bit at his, what seemed like, determined words. "Allright." She said with a small smile, and with his hand still in hers, she led the way out of the shop and to the fresh OPEN that was the street.
