"Are you serious!?" said Violet she had came from a rich wizarding family.

As the two girls chatted, Aurora scooped up their money and began counting it. Luckily, they'd both given her the exact amount necessary. She put the money away then set to work bagging the items. "Thank you, girls. Enjoy your items," she said, happy to be able to make a few sells. Things inside the store were beginning to get a little too quiet for her. She almost felt like singing aloud at the top of her lungs---almost. While she waited for the next customer in line, Aurora tapped her fingernails lightly against the countertop.

"Usually we've got plenty of money on hand, my parents just prefer I shop... Elsewhere." she nodded her head at the shop and stuffed her scarf in her bag. "They like the French stuff, sometimes we'll make a trip all the way out to Paris just to go shopping."

"Thank you" said Violet and grabbed her bag
"Same here" said Violet "So where to?"

"Anywhere's fine by me."

"Hmm maybe honeydukes" said Violet

"Yeah sure, I was there earlier but I don't mind. Let's go!"

Allison replaced the gray beanie on her head and tilted her head. Feeling the light fall of the bunny ears a smile began to form on her face. Almost running towards a mirror Allison began to pose in different ways and was just about to comment that the gray one was perfect when she realized who was also in the shop. Seeing Ivory's relection in the mirror Allison's smile gleamed and she practicially glomped her.

"Ivory! Didn't see ya or hear ya walk in! Lookies! Like it? Was choosing one of the beanies with bunny ears. Can't decide which one to take." Finally unlatching herself off Ivory, Allison stood at arms length and twirled in a circle. "Arya thinks the gray one is a winner..what about you?"

Soon enough--as she waited for an answer, Allison began to hop from foot to foot. "Cause if I get the yellow one it matches my bunny bag, but if I get the gray one it just look really cool. So whatcha say yo?"

Mina continued to look around for everything she needed. Really, she only intended to get some gloves, but everything looked so pretty and she did have some of her birthday galleons left.

Gloves, scarves. earmuffs, socks.

She walked up to the counter and set everything down. She really needed to leave the shop before she spent too much. Pulling out her little purse, she started to count out exactly the amount she needed. She did have to budget since she didn't want to have to owl home for more later. She really did prefer not to have to owl her mother or grand-mère for anything, unless she was in dire need.

OOC: I'm sure the galleons, sickles, and knuts convert differently than this, but to keep it easy, we'll just do simple adding.

Ahh, finally! A customer! For a moment, Aurora glanced to the back of the store and eyed her boss, the owner of Gladrag's Wizardwear. He'd told her the place would be practically swarming with people. Clearly, his definition of swarming wasn't exactly the same one she had.

"Hello, hello! Let's see, we have...gloves, scarves, earmuffs, and socks," she said, picking up each item and examining its price. "That'll be 62 galleons, 21 sickles, 115 knuts." While she waited for the girl's payment, Aurora began bagging the items.

Leading the way into the store, Jake poked his head in first and stared all around, smelling the aroma of... the store.

Pushing the door open, Jake stepped over the threshold, digging in his pocket for one of those darned coupons.

Sure sure, Jake had a coupon. But it still felt weird to go clothes shopping with someone other than his mum. Poking his head into the store after Jake, he peered around.

Did he need anything?

He wriggled is toes around in his shoes, aware that his sock was getting a little... holey. Perhaps a new pair was in order.

But only perhaps.

"C'mon," Jake mumbled, yanking the younger student into the store after him. "It's tuhh-too c-c-cold."

Taking one look around the store, Jake only had to glance at the prices of items once before his mouth gaped open in shock. Good sweet mother of Kazi. "Oh, jeeez. Duhh-diagon Al-Alley, I muhh-miss thee..."

YOINK.

Tibi rubbed his shoulder after having been pulled into the shop. Sheeesh. Someone was in a hurry.

He followed Jake around the store, peering over his shoulder at the prices, eyes wide. "I... wow. Mum only let me have ten galleons total for term," he whispered.

Tibi walked over to a table full of socks, figuring that, of all things, socks wouldn't be...

Merlin's smelly gym socks.

"JAKE," Tibi hissed across the store, holding up a pair of rainbow stripped socks. "These cost more than my WAND."

62 galleons?

So much for budgeting. Mina would just have to owl her mother for more later. Giving the nice lady a smile, she counted out exactly 62 galleons, 21 sickles, 115 knuts and slid it on the counter top. She did really need to learn how to hold back whilst shopping.

Taking her bags after all was done, she smiled again. "Thank you." she said as she thought about what she had in mind for all her new things.

Slowly lifting his hand, Jake guided his mouth closed by lifting his bottom jaw, and followed Tibi with his gaze. Who in the name of WHAT had priced this stuff?! It was INSANE! Jake sure felt sorry for the dwellers of Hogsmeade. No wonder this places needed to give out coupons to make money. Jake was pretty sure that with the coupon he currently held in his hand, he could buy a pair of socks and a pair of gloves he was to get for free... for about half of the price of the socks.

If that made sense.

Errr...

"I know..." Jake muttered, following Tibi properly now, examining the socks. Heh. Rainbow. Wasn't he wearing something quite similar himself?

"I duhh-don't think I'm allowed tuhh-to waste mmmy money," he said quietly. Yeah. His mother only sent him money when he asked for it.

Jake was quite liable to, errr... waste money on... err...

Sweets.

"Socks."

The blond gave a nod. It'd have to be socks. That was all he could afford.

And he NEEDED those free gloves...

Tiberius looked at the socks a little forlornly. He needed at least one new pair and he wanted them to be fun. But they cost ALL his money and his mum wouldn't send him more. And if he asked for more for socks, she'd laugh and mail him socks.

Plain white socks.

Bummer.

"I.. I dun think I can get anything. 's too much." Tiberius wandered over to the gloves. "These look cool. Bet they're a ton, too, though." He didn't even look at the price.

Tiberius sighed. "You getting anything?"

Jake was... not at all torn.

Nope.

Not.

At.

All.

The boy picked up the rainbow socks with a determined look on his face (as determined as a sock-buyer can get anyway) and approached the counter. He didn't neeeeed sweets. He had that coupon anywho.

Someone was just finishing up. Awesome timing.

Rumage, rummage.

FINALLY!

With a flourish, Jake pulled out the coupon and waited to pay and display.

Hurr hurrrrr.

Tiberius watched with a pang of... jealousy?... as Jake scooped up the socks and walked over to pay. Cool socks. And then he saw the coupon.

Cool socks AND gloves?

Tiberius was going to have a talk with his mum about his spending money allowance.

Walking up behind Jake, he waited for the older boy to pay. Maybe then they could go somewhere more in his price range.

Seeing as Ivory was obviously too impressed by the sight that was the gray beanie, Allison grabbed it and decided it was the chosen one. Going back to each section Allison picked up everything she had hand picked and headed towards the front counter.

"I gots all sorts of thingies here with me. Imma take this pink and blue scarf, the blue cloak, these earmuffs, this cute gray beanie," lowering her voice she added, "these socks," and back to normal, "and I got a coupon thingie from class. So I'm also taking these gloves."



Looking at all the things she was buying, she sighed. It wasn't as if she was spending her money on things that weren't worth it. After all, her mother had said she could all of the money as long as she needed the things. And obviously she needed the frog socks, and the scarf, and the cloak...and the funny earmuffs..............and........um.........the... beanie. Oh her mother was going to kill her! With one sight of her mother's eyes, Allison was sure she'd get the same reaction Myrtle got when she saw the basilisk's eyes--death!

Realizing that the girl was rather shocked that she'd run up such a big bill, Aurora gave her a sympathetic look. While it was a treat to work here at Gladrag's, Aurora did agree that the prices were a little...upscale. *ahem*

"You're very welcome! Enjoy your items," she said, smiling at her one additional time before turning towards the next two in line. At least things at the shop were picking up now.

"Hello, hello," Aurora greeted, speaking to both the boy with the socks and the friend beside him. "What a lovely pair of socks..." Her pleasant expression, however, changed when she realized she needed to charge the poor boy 8 galleons for the item. "That'll be...8 galleons," she muttered. Her face did pick up, though, when she saw that he came with a coupon. "Ohh, a free pair of gloves, hmm?" Reaching behind the counter, Aurora pulled out a pair of gloves matching the ones pictured on the coupon.

Aurora's eyes near about popped out of her head when she saw all the items this young girl had laid on the counter. "My, my, I'd say you're going for the whole 'shop 'til you drop' idea, hmm?" she said with a laugh. It took her a moment to total all the items, but once she was done, she let the girl know how much to pay then began bagging the items. "Oh, and before I forget---your free gloves," she said, holding up the gloves to show the girl. A moment later, she stuffed them into the bag, as well.

"Yar," Jake said quietly, nodding his head with a little smile. That amused him... the fact that the shopkeeper seemed... ashamed of the prices? Heh. Ahhhh well... at least people were buying stuff. "Yar," he said again, laying the coupon flat on the counter.



Checking he had the right amount of monies in his hand, Jake dropped it next to the coupon and smiled again, a little hesitantly. "Cuhh-can I kuhh-keep the c-c-coupon?" he stuttered, though there was no fear on his face which would explain the stutter. Just... intrigue at the colourful socks and gloves he was a-getting.

Tibi shuffled uncomfortably as Jake paid. He was... embarrassed that he couldn't afford anything in here.

But those gloves sure looked cool. He was a little envious, but tried to not let it show. So far that day, Jake had bought his butterbeer and bought the fun socks he'd wanted but couldn't afford. He was feeling a little down about the whole thing, but was still mostly in could spirits. He bounced on his feet a little, anxious for Jake to finish up so they could get out.

Aurora passed the young boy the bag filled with his newly-purchased socks and free gloves. "Sure, as far as I'm concerned, you can definitely keep the---..." Aurora stopped short and examined the coupon once again. A moment later, she glanced back up at the boy with a frown on her face. "Actually, I have to keep the coupon...says so right here," she said, tapping her fingernail towards the part of the coupon that said it must be surrendered. "I guess I have to turn it in to my boss to prove I was supposed to give away a free pair of gloves." With that, she stuck the coupon into a free slot in her cash register.

OOC for everyone: The prices at the top have been reevaluated and altered. From this point on, the new prices will be used.

"N'awwwww," Jake pouted a little and took the bag with his stuff in, looking forlornly at the surrendered coupon. Jeez, they were acting as though the coupons were CRIMINALS or something.

"M'kayyyyy," the boy sighed and turned away, toward Tibi, clutching the bag. Before they were out of the store, Jake reached in and pulled out the socks, before handing them to his best friend. Before the Ravenclaw could argue, Jake grinned and led the way out.
