The interior of the Broomshed has been crammed with desks and splintery stools for the written portion of the Flying Final Exam. On each desk is a parchment containing the exam questions, Anti-Cheating quills, and ink. All you need to do is take a seat and start writing.

Flying Final Exam, Part One: Written

1. Ever since the first broomstick was charmed to fly, wizards have been making improvements on them by adding numerous charms and experimenting with different types of wood and twigs. In your own words, describe your favorite racing broom (what it looks like, what its made out of, the charms placed on it, etc.) and explain why this is the best broomstick for a witch or wizard to use. (Worth up to 5 points)


2. Creaothceann, Aingingein, Stichstock, Shuntbumps, Swivenhodge, and Quodpot. Wizarding games that require flying on broomsticks have always been popular and some were quite dangerous, too. Fred made his way into the broomshed for the flying exam. The 1st thing he noticed was the place was cram packed with desks so he was glad he was one of the first to arrive. He took a seat at one of the desks and saw his exam and got to work on it.

Think positive thoughts, Kellen. Positive thoughts. It's good that you're here, right? Right. And if you completely tank this exam, at least you have a glorious summer ahead of you and maybe by the time you get back Vindictus will have forgotten all about it. 'Atta boy, there's the spirit.

These thoughts repeated themselves over and over in his head as he sat down, taking care to pick the splinters out of his stool before he did so. With a deep breath that seemed to be full of 'almost summer almost summer almost summer', he seized his quill and began to write.

Kay walked down to the broomshed and stopped at the door. A Quidditch final? It was different and she was happy about it. She wondered how the Professor was after all the fighting that had went on. Pulling the door open she see the desk and how clean the broomshed was. She walked over to one of the sets and put her bag down. She read the assignment and pick up the quill and started on her second final for the year.

Adrienne walked into the broomshed, her shoes standing out a little, but given the change in the weather she hadn't been able to resist. Both the physical weather and the . . . feeling in the school. She wasn't even going to let NEWTs get to her. But first she wanted to show Professor Vindictus she was still going to try, even though she still felt a little like she'd let him down with Quidditch. She could still take finals, and she wasn't missing his.

Walking past the students who were already there, she smiled at the younger Ravenclaw boy who was furiously writing, then let herself hope her team would show up as well. Ravenclaw power and all. Taking one last deep breath, she arrived at an empty desk and sat down. Blue eyes scanning the questions on the parchment, she took a few seconds to think, clearing as many random thoughts out of her mind as she could, then picked up the quill and started writing.

Gold LOVED flying to bits and, while she was no expert on the history of Quidditch or other stuff like that, she certainly knew all there was to know about exactly how to ride a broom. She loved the way the wind whips open hair into eyes at the height of fifty feet above the ground, adored the feel of a well-polished broomstick - and that was more than enough, to bring her to the broomshed, to take the Flying Final.

That --- and the fact that she wanted to pass all her finals.

She stepped in, new high heels clicking against the floor, and her gaze instantly landed on a vacant seat by a wall. There was the smell of dust and old wood and lots of other nice things in the air, and everything felt rusty, in the same way as dusty, old libraries do, the kind you open after ages, and fall in love with, because they smell so beautiful, so nostalgic.

The fifth year inhaled deeply, very deeply, and her lips curved into a pretty smile. Then, sitting down, she picked up the question paper, scanned its contents and, lifting an anti-cheating quill and dipping it into the ink-pot provided at her desk, began to write.

Marie ran down to the broomshed ready for the flying final. Flying had easily become her favorite class this term. She really hoped they were going to get to fly today. That would really make her day.

She was a little bummed though when she walked into the room and seen that they were having a written test. Oh wait, they were going to fly, just it would be later. Wanting to get to the flying part she picked up the quill and started answering the questions on the parchment.

Yes, she was going to fly and leave all her worries on the ground today.

Another day, another final.

Nervously re-adjusting the strap of his bag, Blake stepped into the Broomshed and released an exasperated sigh. Today, he was hoping to VROOOOM through the exam as last night's cramming session gave him the much needed confidence.

Leaving his bag near the door, he timidly walked over to a desk and plopped down. He picked up the anti-cheating quill with quivering hands, trying not to pay attention to his nervous stomach and with one last glance, he dipped it in the inkwell and began his exam.

Yes, he has studied this time.

Man, finals already she thought to herself as she entered the broomshed. She felt pretty confident for this one cause she pretty much thought she knew what to expect from a flying final. When she got to her seat and took a look at the qestions on the parchment she was even more sure she would do fine and quickly got to work.

Quidditch final exam? That was one that Aaron certainly hadn't be expecting, which is also one he hadn't really studied for. He could fly well enough, so what need was there to study for something he was already decent at?

Taking a seat at one of the desks, the almost twelve year old blinked in confusion at the parchment that was at each desk. Uh? What? Quidditch exam is supposed to be PRACTICAL, not written! Too bad he missed that part of the memo in the common room.

Shrugging, he turned over his paper, swallowed hard and then began writing. He could do this.

Jack could NOT fail his flying final. He wasn't scared he would or anything, but he could just imagine the Ballycastle Bats kicking him off the reserve squad because he failed his final. How embarrassing would that be?! Realizing he was psyching himself out, he took a deep breath as he sat down and pulled the parchment close to him.

Shaking his head to get rid of his ridiculous thoughts, he got to work.

Ok he could do this!

Chris had joined the rest of the students taking their final into the cramped broomshed and had taken a seat near the back. He needed out of here as soon as he could and it was a bit stuffy in this place. He had studied read Qudditch Throughout the Ages the night before, and thought he was ready.

He took his parchment and test when he was given it and began.

A written flying final. Who would have thought that even existed. Nevertheless, Evelyn had studied for it, well, more like read out of enjoyment because who didn't like reading about flying and quidditch?

Shuffling her way inside, she was surprised to see that there were already a few people there, making her frown. People. People in a cramped broomshed. Oh joy...

Taking a deep breathe, she moved to the closest seat, wanting to be the first out the door if anything happened, and slowly moved the parchment closer to read what was on it.

Okay, she could do this. She did study for a little bit so it should be simple right? Right.

Flying Final...unusual. But sounded like a better final. At least he'll be able to flying. And anyways he needed to help make up the points they had lost with the rest of his team. If the entire Ravenclaw team came, then they would be able to make up the points that slipped out of their hands.

Jacob followed the students over towards the broomshed. entering he saw...Paper! this was supposed to be fun. He wasnt supposed to write. When did writing become part of Flying. Jacob sighed and walked over to an empty desk. He passed Adrienne and smiled to himself, maybe they will be able to make up the quidditch failure, if a lot of ravenclaws came. They could still have a chance at the house cup this year.

Jacob sat down at the empty desk took the quill and started his exam.

Flying Final. Rex is ready to take the exam.

Mina made her way into the broomshed and took a seat. She wasn't really looking forward to a written final in flying, but she wasn't dreading it either. It was just another final for her to take before the term was over. Another day, another final.

Looking at the exam questions, she read them carefully over. This wasn't going to be all that difficult, but she did need to think for the final. Picking up a quill, she started to work.

Well, of all the finals this was certainly one Rafe felt more comfortable with. He'd been "sick" the last couple of practices, but he definitely wanted to get some time in before the final match. Any flying is better than none at all.

Destiny had not expected a Flying final, so when she heard about it, she was somewhat excited. A reason to fly would get anyone excited no matter what type of mood they were in.

That was until she made her way into the broomshed.

A written exam in a very cramped smelly broomshed was not what she considered fun. Going back into her gloomy mood, Destiny took a seat somewhere and got started on her exam.

Woe.

Torin wasn't really sure how he felt about doing a Flying exam. He liked Flying, he hated exams. And he hated writing exams. But this one didn't seem to be so bad as it was on broomsticks and broom games.

He started to write his answers.

Sidney finds an empty desk near the back of the Broom Shed. She sits down and then jumps right back up. Sidney looks down at the stool and sees a huge splinter sticking up. Terrific, that's one way to keep us on our toes. She pulls her skirt down, so it covers her thighs. Sidney hopes this isn't a long exam. She opens the book and gets started.

After finishing the written part of the exam Marie took her parchment to the professor then went back to her seat to wait for the practial part of the exam to begin. This was the part she was really looking forward to....Flying.

It felt good to be doing school work again. Celandine took her seat and began to read the questions hungrily. She was sooo tempted to do more than one answer for each just because she'd missed school work sooooo much, but she wasn't sure Professor Vindictus would appreciate having extra student work to go through.

The questions were interesting at least and of course Cela took a flight of fancy, managing to root it in enough fact to show that she had retained a lot of information over the years. The thing was, the theory stuff? Piece of cauldron cake, even the flying part was okay...

... landings? Still not her forte. So with that in mind, Celandine began on her answers, her expression almost excited.

Because Exams were AWESOME!

Woot! FLYINGEXAM!
Miranda hurried into the broomshed, toterly ready to kick some exam butt, and hopefully she would be kicking this one. Because y'know, flying - she would hopefully do well. Gulp.

She entered the broomshed and took a moment to look for an empty desk in this leetle espace, rushed over and took a seat. She grabbed the ink and quill closer to herself, flipped the parchment to read the questions and then began to take the exam.

Writing writing writig.... mhmhmhmhmhmmmm.

Gosh, this was making her want to grab a broomstick and fly. Snort.

Finals.

Finals, after that huuuuuuge fight. Raiden was sooooo not pleased about that. His brain was still all scattered from getting hurt; he'd fought his way through the other exams, but this was the one that worried him. The practical part? Was not going to be fun at all. Exemption! Exemption, he should demand. Injuries that resulted in hospitalisation should require it.

Still... at least he could try to do well on the written half. Clinging to this hope, the Slytherin prefect picked up his quill, eyes lingering on the questions for a few moments before he started writing.
