"Astronomy for Dummies? Seriously?" Torin smirked at Reese as he stood over her.

This was just too awesome. She really did need to retake First Year Astronomy if she had to resort to reading books like this. And the irony of dating Jack, who was a huge Astronomy nerd just made it even funnier for him.

He took a seat beside her, and grabbed the book so that he could take a look at it. "How did you pass your Astronomy OWL? Or did you not even take it?" He wouldn't be surprised if it happened to be the latter.

Seriously Reese was worse at this than he was.

Planet Earth rotates on its axis at a 23.5° angle... Interesting.

Reese flipped the page in her book to continuing to read more about Earth and it's fascinating facts until she heard someone's voice. "Seriously," she replied with a grin as she looked up to see who was talking to her. "I'm going to pass my NEWTs on Astronomy this year," she informed Mr. Greek Boy. "Even if I have to read a book with a title like this." Astronomy for Dummies? Ha! It was amazing what you could find at a local bookstore.

She crossed her arms over her chest when Torin took the book from her. He could have asked first, couldn't he? "I know now that Earth doesn't...wait, no, it doesn't turn slowly," she had to think about what had just come out of her mouth. "Wait, yes it does!" Right, she needed that book back like now.

"I didn't take it," she mumbled in reply to his question. If she took it, there was NO doubt in her mind that she would have gotten a T. Or, with her awful Astronomy skills, they probably would have had to make a new grading letter up like AH (Awfully Horrible).

He smiled and handed the book back to her. "Well, I'm proud of you for trying, Reese." And he wasn't being sarcastic either. Determination was always good, even if she was reading a book like this. "Maybe I should borrow it sometime."

He didn't even laugh at her about that earth comment. Wow. He was really in a good mood or something. He was actually being nice to Reese.

"So you didn't take the OWLs, but you will take the NEWTS? You are aware that the are a lot harder, right?" It made no sense to him, honestly.

"Well I do have to say it is alittle weird to think that you have to be on Earth foreverrrrr but you are died. I do have to say they are a bit creepy." Drew said smiling. Hehe! He sooooo couldn't wait for just one ghost to come up to them. Then bam! Annie would be in Drew's arms and he would be the hero. Haha! Orrrr he would look like a dork.....

"Do we have any professors that are ghosts?" Just to be sure; Annie had read that back in the days, there was one professor who was one. Gulp.

Creepy, scary, yet fun. "I'm sure that once meeting a few, it'll be alright. After all, we are surrounded by them..." Annie said, looking around and hoping none would show up.

Imagination seem to ran through Drew's mind. She wondered what was in that head of his, but it was to be told later, promise they had made.

Reese took the book back from Torin, then placed it on her lap. "Did you just say you were proud of me?" She question. She has NEVER heard those words come out of Mr. Kane's mouth before. "Thank you..." I guess, she added in her head. Wow, she still couldn't really couldn't believe Torin had just said he was proud of her and IT DIDN'T EVEN SOUND LIKE SARCASM! "I'll let you borrow it," she replied to him. "Once the NEWTs are over."

She nodded her head at a fast pace. "I'm determined to take the Astronomy NEWT...and pass it," she explained. "And, yes, I am aware that the NEWTs are harder. They don't call them Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests for nothing." Did it really stop her knowing the NEWTs were going to be worse than the OWLs? Not really. "I'm hoping Jack will study with my in the Library one day," she though out loud. "He's good at Astronomy. He could definitely help me."

Drew thought about the question for a moment. Hmmmmm. He didn't think they did. But if they did sign him up for that class! Mwahhhh! "I don't believe we do Annie." He said hoping this calmed her a bit. She seemed kind of scared that they might...

"Yeah I'm sure after having them around for awhile it will be normal and not scary anymore" Drew said though he laughed as Annie looked around as if one where to come up behind them any minute. "You are really creeped out by these ghosts aren't you?" He asked.

Annie turned her gaze back to Drew as he responded to her questions about ghosts and such. Haha, he was so having a laugh for this. "Tell me, Mr. Sparks..." Cute last name, just like the thing he caused whenever they touched. She had to avoid it, just for a while, to make some experiment on how much she needed that spark. "...are you afraid of them, just asking you know...?" She raised her eyebrow at him and smiled.

Duh, he won't say a word, he's a guy. That thought ran through her mind.

"I am...I mean, it's common for a half-muggle person to be sort of afraid of them..." And much after such her experience.

He smiled at her brightly. "Welcome, Sweet pea." Okay, now he was going back to making fun of her again. But how long could you expect him to be totally and sincerely nice to Reese? Not very long, if you must know. "I'm still better at this than you are." But then so was his 5 year old sister probably.

"Well, you're going to need a lot of help. Poor Jack. He's going to need to spend months tutoring you." He shook his head and tutted. She was only at the start of the book. On the most basic unit. And the NEWT was going to eat her alive at this rate.

Haha Mr. Sparks? That could be something he could get use to Annie calling him that. Hmmmm is Drew afraid of ghosts? "Well I have to say I do reallllly like them. But I'm not totally scared of them. They would be a little weird to see though...." He said shrugging as he smiled back at Annie.

"Truuuue. But I'm Muggle-born sooooo I have no idea what they actually look like. Sooooo I might have to agree with you a bit there." Drew said.

Annie stood up, looking back at Drew and making herself not look like a dazed girl there, just because of his smile, his laugh. She cleared her throat and picked Copito up from the floor, making him whimper. The kitten was chasing a little flying creature, maybe a fairy?

"I agree, it'd be bit weird to see them at first." She had been thinking about it for a bit longer, as they spoke.

Had he mentioned being a Muggle-born? Annie thought he didn't, or she just forgot a few chats of them. Gulp. Not nice, but her Phantom missing, everything seemed just to fly off her head.

"If you're Muggle-born, what do your parents do for living, Sparks...?" She asked him.

Drew watched as Anna stood up to pick up her kitten again as it was chasing a fairy probably.....

Wait ohhhh geez did Annie just ask what his parents do for a living. He gulped slightly. "Ummm well my mum is a school teacher and my step-father is a doctor. But we use to live on a farm soooo my dad worked on the farm." He said quietly he now didn't notice Annie call him Sparks. He just bit his lip hoping for the best.

Keeley walked down the corridor, pretty much wandering aimlessly. Then, she heard someone talking about families. Merlin, why was everyone talking about them? Even though she should've left, she couldn't help listening. It made her feel a little brighter, just hearing about them.

Gaspeth!

"Really, your mother is a professor? Mine too..." She replied, amazed of similarities between them, the first ones to show up while their conversations. Sigh. Then he mentioned his step-dad. He had never met someone with a step-dad..."It's amazing, you know...I wish I could have been living in a farm, but we are too far away from that in Cordoba..." She giggled.

"When did the separation happen?" Annie's curiousity won and that question blurted out of nowhere. "I'm so sorry..." She covered her mouth and huffed air to her hair, "Um, you don't have to answer to that question..." She told him, feeling embarrassed.

"Yeah she is." Drew said smiling. Was this the first they had in common??? Weird...But then she meantioned him living on a farm. Drew just smiled slightly. "Yeah I miss it. It was a lot of work but I miss being able to ride the horses." Sighhhh yes horse back riding was his most favorite thing to do!

Gulp. Sssseparation??? "Ummm no it's okay." He wasn't going to go there was he? Okay so he was..."Umm well see actually my father died. That's the reason I wasn't able to come to Hogwarts before. He died that year. And I only came this year because of my mum getting re-married." He said maybe a little softer than his normal tone. Yeah now his mother was married to the doctor.......Who was weird by the way.

"Horses?" Horses? Really?...Annie gasped, amazed and excited at just the mention of that word. "Ooh, I've dreamt of riding horses all my life, but dad is always taking too much care of me that he didn't let me ride one when grandma gave us one to my cousin Em and me...to share." Ugh, that was something she couldn't stand, sharing things with Em.

Oh, so it was not separation. "Oh, I'm so sorry...I didn't know..." She was more embarrassed than the minute before. Gulp! She continued to listen to Drew speak about his life. It was interesting. It made her think of the possibility if her life was like that, without a father and having her mother re-marrying, or vice-versa. Not really.

Drew nodded and smiled at Annie's excitment. "Ahhhh well living on a farm you have to learn how to ride a horse." He said memories that he had been hidding were coming back all of asudden. And he didn't care. He was actually a little happy to think of them again. "Well maybe I will have to take you riding sometime." He said. Errrrr he meant as friend of course.....

Drew shook his head as he saw Annie's embarrassment. "No no. It's okay. You had no idea and it's really okay." He said still not making his voice go any little bit louder. He couldn't. Annie probably won't know this but that's why he was sooo quiet and shy and stuff. He was just sooo close to his dad losing him just crushed him....

"Interesting," Really, it was. Annie smiled at Drew, when he mentioned taking her to a ride. "Umm, it'd be great, thanks." She cleared her throat, looking away towards the window and the sky just outside of them. It looked like a perfect day and she was missing it. Despite her journal lost, she thought about going to play soccer to make her mind just fly out of those thoughts.

Whatever might cause, Annie reached Drew's hand and smiled at him. "Things just happen because they have to...you were finally drawn to this place, you now have the chance to make your dad more proud than I think he was before...you know..." Annie didn't think this right, maybe...

"It's no probelm really." Drew said smiling back to Annie. But then he saw her look out the window. He did the same it was a nice day she probably wanted to head outside......But Drew didn't want her toooo leave. Though he knew she would have tooooo soon. Probably to keep looking for her journal.

Did she just touch his hand??? He looked down at his hand for a moment and back up at Annie. He then nodded. "I know. I just hope I can make him proud." He said to her. Though his heart racing almost a mile a minute. What was this girl doing to him??? He didn't know but whatever it was he liked it a lot.....

"The day looks great, I think I'll go outside and play some soccer, just to...relax and try to forget about Ph..." Shoot, Annie was this close to say her journal's personal name. "I mean, my journal." Her head tilted a bit and she looked down at her kitten. He was rather annoyed by now. "But I think Copito needs food, so...I'll head up to my common room to feed him and let him sleep for a while..." She muttered her plans, Gosh...What boys make you do.

Her heart, raced as if she was scoring a goal, or much better it felt! Annie let go of his hand, after a minute or two then stood back up, smiling at him. "I'm sure you'll do great...Sparks..." Her speaking became more like a whisper.

What was going on there?

Awwwww Annie was leaving??? Sighhhh okay Drew couldn't do much of anything now could he??? "Yeahhhh I know it is a nice day. I think I will probably head outside for a bit as well." He said. He raised an eyebrow as she started to say something but quickly said her journal....Hmmmm weird. "Yeah the little guy doesn't look to happy." He comment about her kitten. He still looked mad at him.....

Drew was slightly sad as Annie let go of his hand. But his heart was still racing just the same. He just nodded to her statement. "Thanks Robles..." He said. "I did say that right didn't I?" He asked unsure of himself.

Annie nodded her head and smiled, petting Copito at the same time he listened to Drew speak. "I hope to see you, then..." She giggled at the cat comment then put him right in front of her face. "Yeah, you look quite hungry and angry yoursef, Mr. Grumpy nose..." She told the kitten.

Umm...she looked weird arguing with her cat, but anyways...

Copito eyed Annie, then back at the boy. Grrr..Meow...

"The Rhouuu sounds too weird, but keep practicing. It's Roh-bleh-s.." She grinned at his attempt to say her last name. He sounded so cute. LOL. "And I think I better practice saying yours as well, my Spanish S...sounds too weird, still..." She said with a laugh.

Drew nodded. "Yeah see you soon." He said smiling. But then watched Annie put Copito right up to her face. Hehe! It was kind of funny to watch her do soooo. But then that darn cat turn and eyed him again. Someone a little over protective.

Drew chuckled as Annie told him how he said her last name sounded weird. "Alright I promise to practice if you promise to do the same." He said. though he kind of liked the way Annie said his last name. It was kind of cute in a way...

Reese raised her hands off the book, and then smacked them right back down again. "Don't call me Sweet pea," she stated. Hearing Torin say that to her just made her feel all weird. Wasn't Sweet pea what you called your girlfriend? Yeah, it just didn't fit. "I bet you are," she told him with an eye roll. "I'm pretty sure a lot of people are better at Astronomy than I am." That was complete fact. She was horrible at Astronomy and there was no way of denying that face. If she wasn't bad at it, she would have that book on her lap.

She looked down at the yellow book and sighed. "The book is mocking me, Torin. I really need to get better at Astronomy before I graduate," she told him. She took the book off her lap and placed it beside her on the stone ground, so that she wouldn't have the title staring right up at her mocking her. "I don't need months of tutoring," she replied. "Just...a few weeks, maybe."

Oooh, he had touched a nerve with her. And that just made him want to call her sweet pea more and more. Wasn't he nice?

"Don't doubt yourself so much, sweet pea. You will get it. Eventually." Hopefully by the end of the year. Or she was in big trouble for the NEWTs. And as much as he liked teasing her, he didn't want her to get a Troll on the things.

"Aww, sweet pea. I'm sure it's not really mocking you."

BWAHAHA!
